This is my favorite Indian food in Philly. The flavors, spices, and dishes are well-considered and spot-on every time. There's not really anywhere to sit inside, but the staff is very friendly. Order out, take it home or to a beer garden, and you'll have a fantastic night! Thank you, Ekta!

This place is mostly for take out but don’t let that stop you! The food was amazing! Service was great. No ambiance, and they give you styrofoam plates if you want to eat there but they have a few tables and service was fast. Definitely going back!!!

Best Indian food in the area compared to the 5 next closest places! Quick no nonsense service, get your food and go, always ready when they say it will be!

I ordered takeout and was very disappointed in the food. Chicken biryani was just salty and the chicken was bone dry. Ordered chettinad chicken and that was basically some other dish as it didn’t taste anything like a chettinad. Chicken was dry again. Naan was doughy and not fresh. Unfortunately there was little to no redeeming qualities.

Papdi Chaat… To the Owner, My suggestion would be for you to “shape up” or” ship out”. Represents nothing like what you get in India. Don’t give me the reason that you don’t get ingredients here… you get them. The picture attached says it all.

There are no words to convey the deliciousness of this food. The tandoori chicken was moist and perfectly flavored. The tikka masala was out of this world incredible. I have nothing but rave reviews. 10 out of 10 recommend. I will definitely return. Thank you for an amazing dinner. 🥰

Ordered takeout and it was super quick, food is amazing. Really flavorful and delicious across the board. It’s on the spicer side so if you’re worried about that go for mild.

Yelp
Recently moved into the neighborhood and we've been here at least four times! The food is always pipping hot and delicious. The portions are large enough to get you at least two meals from each. The prices are high for a casual dinner, but right on par for most Indian places around. Since you get two meals out of it, my roommates and I can justify it. I mostly order over the phone, and as a dyslexic Italian I am pronouncing everything terribly, terribly wrong. The guy taking my order got a good laugh out of it, and when I sent my roommate to pick up for me (I was too embarrassed!) they told me that the gentleman chuckled when he went to get our order. Overall, the workers are super nice, the food is to die for, and theres nothing better than leftovers.

Yelp
Indian eatery that appears more conducive to takeout vs dining in even though there is in house dining seating. The ordering process online was quick and easy and pickup was accomplished in a friendly and timely fashion with all items well and carefully packed. Onion Bhaji-was super delicious and perfectly flavorful, plus an extra bonus for not being greasy Garlic Naan-a perfect pillowy puff of naan with just the right amount of garlic Chicken Tikka Masala -the chicken was dry and stringy, making it a sad swimmer in the sea of exquisite Tikka Masala sauce. Basmati Rice-just sad, old and dry I'm hoping this was an off day, because the flavors deserve a return visit.

Yelp
I've been to the fishtown location of Ekta a while ago and was surprised to hear they had opened a location in Manayunk. The Manayunk location used to be another Indian restaurant. When you walk in, you might not notice a huge difference from the previous owner, however, the food and prices have improved quite a bit imo. We decided to eat in and ordered a pair of entrees and a naan. They do not have waiter service and offer paper plates for dine in. We were given a huge amount of rice for our two entrees - more than enough. The mango lamb had a decent helping of lamb and mango. The butter chicken was amazing and, like the mango lamb, had plenty of protein. The peshwari nana was on point. I'd recommend EKta, although it is probably best to just grab takeout!

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant to order from because it's so consistently good and fast. Piping hot curry and fresh naan, if you told me it was the manna from the Bible i'd believe you it's so good. no other indian restaurant around compares.

Yelp
I love Ekta, the Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite, and the cheese filled naan bread is also great!

Yelp
Delicious and fast takeout. Everything was great. We got the onion bhajis, aloo tikki, garlic naan, paneer madras, and butter chicken. Would get again

Yelp
I read the reviews and had recommendations (though not for this location). How wrong they were. First there's really no option to eat-in, and just as well. Dimly lit and dirty. I got 2 entrees and asked for them to be spicy (just a bit less than trad, authentic spicy). What I received were both items covered in what was basically the equivalent of sweet, General Tsó's sauce. Veggies? Red and green peppers and onions. In both. Truly disappointing. Wish I could give half a star.

Yelp
Best Indian in Philly! Love that they have chaat, as well. Everything is always great.

Yelp
So happy to have this in the neighborhood!! The best Indian food around. The dal makhani is the best I've ever had. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Generous portions, always tons of leftovers.

Yelp
Tried for first time last night. Takeout order was prepared quickly. I had mango chicken she had yellow lentils. We shared mango rice and raita. Everything was very good and reasonably priced. We will return often!

Yelp
We tried food from here for the first time tonight. if you live in the area (or even if you don't) please give them a try. This is our go to Indian cuisine from now on. By the way don't forget the sides, which is often where restaurants skimp out. Onion bhajis were amazing as were the various pillowy naan and the amazing raita. From tandoori to paneer all was really good and great portion size. Thank you.
