El Arroyo | Cantina & Méxican Kitchen

We stopped here while out and about. The smell from this place lured us into it. It smells amazing outside! We sat inside, but they did have nice outdoor seating too (Sun was baking the patio, so we sat inside). Service is slow, at least for what we ordered. We ordered the Pescado al Pastor and the Molcatjete Asada. Both dishes were fantastic! The food here was incredible! Slow, but incredible. The couples next to us received their meals, ate their order, and checked out before we received our Dish. They arrived at similar times as us. I did love the fried jalapeños appetizer as an option, which makes it easier than requesting a side of jalapeños. Some places will bring diced or pickled. Whole grilled jalepenos is unmatched in my personal opinion. I did not get a picture, but instead of chips and salsa, they bring, chicharonne de harina instead, with a little Tapatio on them. Nice change up, but I would have like a bit more as we waited so long for our dishes we just kind of sat there. Luckily, I ordered two glasses of water (started this everywhere to avoid slow server's) and it paid off since we were ignored most of the time with an empty table. Bathrooms, oh man, they could use a bit of help here. Clean enough, although some child did urinate all over the seat of the toilet (not their fault, but I checked both at the beginning and end of the hour+ we were there and it was never addressed). Both bathroom sinks are underpowered and very short, and your hands barely fit (see video). Also, in one of the restrooms, the toilet isn't even bolted down properly (see video).

Finally decided to try El Arroyo in downtown Sonora. At the street level, you'll go down a flight of stairs to get to the main door. If the weather is nice, opt to eat on the patio (dog-friendly). You'll have a pleasant view of the creek and the street action above. In the evening, the string of lights creates a romantic ambience. It kinda reminded me of a bar we went to in Sorrento, Italy. As for the food, yummy...definitely ask for the creamy chipotle molcajete steak and chicken. It's served in a lava rock that's piping hot which, keeps the cheese melted while you scoop it up into a tortilla. We also had the side of queso and chips. I wasn't expecting it to be served on a hot skillet. Great presentation! I complemented my dinner with a frosty pina colada. Service is very friendly and accommodating. We came at peak dinner hour but didn't wait long. I wish I wasn't so full, I wanted to try the desserts!

Honestly thee best mexican food I’ve ever had! Shared the molcajetes with carnitas and creamy chipotle, w housemade corn tortillas 11/10 ! so juicy and delicious and authentic, super flavorly and the carnitas jus melted apart, & best beans and rice awww!!! Even the chips and salsa was incredible! Mucho sabor ✨

The chipotle molcajete and the creamy garlic traditional plate were both fantastic, as was the guacamole. The vegan bowl and the chile relleno were not great.

This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Tuolumne County! I love everything from their street tacos on taco Tuesday’s to their vegan bowls and even carnitas are amazing as well! I’m gluten and dairy free and love that I can eat many items in their menu! We often go with friends for bday celebrations and oftentimes they can handle a larger crowd in the back room.

Located in the heart of town, free 3 hours street parking. Nice patio seating area. Huge menu. They have a bar as well. Food was good, and the service was excellent, worth trying when traveling the area.

This place used to be a great. Good was food, reasonably priced and good service. Came in today, half empty restaurant and we were seated immediately. 2 servers kept walking past our table, both making sure not to make eye contact. After about 15 minutes of watching them walk by us we went to the hostess to ask for a server. Another 5 minutes later one of the 2 waitresses stopped at our table. No greeting, no apology for the wait, no smile but rather an annoyance. Her “reason” for walking by us so many times is that she didn’t know until that moment that we were her table. Took orders and left. We asked to speak to the manager and much to our surprise, and disappointment, she was the manager. The manager with a half empty restaurant, walking by a table with obviously no drinks or food had no clue she has a table. This time she all smiles pretending to be surprised by her own terrible attitude and service. No excuse for her terrible behavior, lack of customer service and worst lack of any managerial qualities. We left and went next door to Escondite de la Torre where we were greeted warmly with what true customer service looks like.

The fajita bowls were delicious and plentiful. The margaritas and bloody marys were fantastic. We especially liked sitting outside on the patio along a beautiful stream. Emily, our server, was friendly and efficient. The prices were terrific. We highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a nice little restaurant. If you sit outside, you get a nice view from the patio. We sat inside, I was a little disappointed as the floors were very noticeably dirty. Table was not that clean either. The food however was very good. We ordered chips and salsa, chicken quesadilla, a burrito and al pastor tacos. Portion sizes are large

I was in town visiting friends and one night we decided to grab some takeout from El Arroyo. My friends that live in Sonora had never been there and I actually found them on Yelp while we were on the hunt for food. We placed our order online and it was ready about a half hour later. We shared chips and salsa and a quesadilla. For my entree I went with three of the food truck tacos (shrimp) and rice. I can't remember what my friends ordered but two of us shared a slice of their dulce de leche cheesecake for dessert. Everything was pretty good. The chips and salsa and quesadilla were rather basic, but the shrimp in my tacos were juicy and just a wee bit spicy. The cheesecake was super rich and thick, great for two people to end a meal. When we picked up our food it wasn't quite ready yet, but I was able to check out the restaurant in person. There's a lovely patio overlooking a small waterway that runs between the restaurant and the businesses to the right of it. The inside is nicely decorated with some cool art on the walls and there's a small full service bar to the left when you walk in. Overall we had a good experience from start to finish and I imagine you will, too.

Stopped here for lunch with my wife and a friend. The food had decent flavor (carnitas platter), but was just warm, not hot. Extra $$ for chips and salsa, and 3% kicker for using a credit card which was a surprise. Would like to think there are places who focus more on customer satisfaction.

Located on the main strip in downtown Sonora, I was pleasantly surprised to find El Arroyo. They have a nice patio area with a view of the creek. When there are concerts in the plaza area, it's close enough to hear the music! Daughter got the beef tacos and said they were some of the best she's had. I ordered the carnitas plate which was very tasty. More than enough food and although I hate wasting food, it's hard to get leftovers to go when you are traveling. Otherwise I would have packed this up! Service was attentive and prices were moderate. I mean, let's be honest, any Mexican place that has margaritas for less than $8 is unheard of these days! Despite the mixed reviews of this place, I would definitely come back.

I'm actually at El Arroyo's new location in Murphys, CA.... Our newest restaurant in Murphys. I'm sitting at their little bar area enjoying a nicely spiced salsa and chips while they prepare my order of fish tacos plate to go, .... so will further edit my comments later. They remodeled this location before opening. It is clean, bright, airy, and welcoming. I think a nice new business has made its way to Murphys.

We are starting out with drinks. This Marg is a must try. Wait staff has been outstanding and outdoor patio ambiance is amazing.

Super disappointing experience here after reading the glowing reviews. And after being on a low carb diet for 10 months I was ready to pig out. Lol. My server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the chicken tortilla soup to start. Which tasted great, but was served in a mug and a table spoon rather than a soup spoon. Made it a bit difficult to eat. But I managed. And the flavor was on point. For my entree I ordered the Al Pastor which I was super excited for. The entree came out barely warm which was the first disappointment. The Al Pastor was ok flavor wise. Not too spectacular, but I was so stoked for carbs I didn't care. Unfortunately pulling a very large black hair out of my mouth, that was in the chicken ruined the meal for me. My server was very sweet and apologetic about it, and took the entree off the check. I couldn't finish it after that. So yeah...I'm sorry to say, very disappointing.

This is one of our favorite places to go. It's tucked down below the hustle and bustle on Washington St. This is by far the best Mexican food in the area. Tonight we were in the mood for fish. My wife had the fish street tacos and I had the Pescado El Pastor, a house special. Both were amazing! Believe it or not, one of the things I look forward to the most is the beans and rice. They are sooo good. Almost every time we go there we have great experience with the staff. They are always very friendly.

The Murphy's location was just as delicious! I tried the marinated chicken super burrito & my son had the steak super burrito, both were big enough for 2 meals! Everything tasted very fresh & homemade. The dining area has been renovated & the decor is nice & bright. Our server was very friendly and our food was served quickly

Worst experience of my life. We went in the place wasn't very busy we had heard such great things and traveled over to Sonora for a date night. We really were excited to try this due to the reviews and people told us it was great. We simply had to change seats, our waitress came over after 10 minutes of sitting we wanted chips and salsa she told us we are out. We had no silverware and ordered to sodas and water. We never got our water and sodas took about 15 minutes. The waitress then came back eventually and said they did have chips and salsa and we ordered food. She took another 15 minutes to bring us chips and salsa. After about 35 forty minutes the only person to refill our drinks was the hostess we had to ask her. Finally after and hour of waiting we asked the waitress for our food to go. She said ok no problem we had plans to go somewhere else. After another 15 minutes we asked if they had even started our food and the answer was no. We ended up just getting charged for the sodas and the chips. We left hungry and felt like our business was unwanted. They never even cared enough to bother to take care of us.

Service was crap, we showed up at 545 and sat with no silverware or service for 10 min. Once our waitress came we simply asked for chips and salsa and to our luck they were out, I asked for water and soda to wait never brought us water it's now 647 and we still haven't gotten food or salsa fukkkk thiss

Last year for our 47th wedding anniversary, my wife became addicted to their taco truck fish tacos and so we did a repeat this year. They were as remarkable as last year! We dined outdoors over looking the creek bubbling by and had a marvelous meal together. I had the Pescado El Pastor, and it was also totally delicious! This is one of our favorite places to dine. For those who want extra heat on their Mexican food, Diablo sauce can be ordered on the side, which I do and did! Not only hot, but quite tasty. We enjoyed a pleasant and attentive waitress who provided great service.

We've been there a few times. The last two times we sat in the main dining room. The food was Ok but there was a strong ammonia smell that really bothered me. The most recent time was disappointing. My burrito bowl was too salty and the margaritas were weak. The chips also were stale. The customer service was ho-hum. The restrooms are nicely decorated and clean.

This evening I met with a friend for Margaritas and street tacos at El Arroyo. My fist time here and it was excellent the margaritas were good and to street tacos were delicious. Macy our server was the best she very attentive.. we sat on the patio it was really nice for sure I will be back.

Yelp, once again you have lead me to the promised land, and it is called El Arroyo! As foodie travelers, visiting Twain Harte/Sonora area for a little family vacation left us a bit perplexed. Ahead of the trip we scoured Yelp in all the small towns surrounding and struggled to find anything that leapt off the page. We decided to cook most of our meals, but knew we had a one night we wanted to dine out, and that's when we found El Arroyo! Arroyo was a step above everything else in the area, and it was obvious from the photos on Yelp. Their food is clearly made with a lot of care, served in abundant portions by friendly staff, and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable too. They have a nice outdoor seating area along a canal running through town, but as a larger party we sat inside. I liked the variety of plates offered where you could choose your favorite protein and have it prepared a number of ways. I opted for the carnitas a La tampiqueña, which was sautéed with roasted tomatoes, onions and jalapeños, with a side of rice and beans. The carnitas were succulent and tender, the charred roasted veggies added nice flavor to the rich meat, and rolling it up in a tortilla with some of the house made Diablo sauce was perfect. Don't skip the guac! It's simply fantastic, and the house fried tostadas and chips are great too. We also enjoyed the cucumber jalapeño margarita a lot! Fresh juices and fruits really set this apart. They offer doubles on the menu and two doubles is the same price as a pitcher. We went pitcher because of that, but I'd go for the double next time because the pitcher was large and balanced, but it lacked the punch because of the volume. All in all, a home run and a must in Sonora or the area. Worth a drive!

Food and service was good, we enjoyed shrimp ceviche, Street tacos and especially loved my Al Ajo Plate (Garlic Shrimp). If you're in Sonora go here!

We came here for dinner after our big hike in Yosemite. Wow....downtown is the place to be on a Friday evening. Everyone was there. We were lucky to find parking not too far from the restaurant. We love the vibe so far. The outside of the restaurant is pretty cool. They have an outdoor patio overlooking a little creek area. We would have loved to have sat outside but it was way too hot. The inside of the restaurant is ok. They have two rooms. One is the bar area and the other is the restaurant area. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I ordered their mango margarita to start off with. That was yummy. As for dinner, I ordered their Three Taco Truck Tacos (chicken). I thought it would be easy for me to eat all three tacos since I haven't eatened in almost 24 hours but I was only able to eat one taco....bummer because that one taco I ate was good. Hubby ordered dessert of course lol. He ordered their Churro Doughnut with Ice Cream. That was obviously good lol. The location could not have been more perfect. The vibe is great. The food and drinks were good.

Came here after The armory had no food. The guy in the front Sat us down and also took our order and was very friendly and fast ! Food was good too and we were a group of 9. We enjoyed our visit

Great place to sit outside in a great historic setting in Sonora. The service was great and the crispy chili verde tacos were exceptional.

We were seated immediately since the place was not crowded. We ordered our drinks and appetizers which were served quickly except for the one alcoholic drink, a margarita. After approximately 15 minutes we had to remind our waitress the drink had still not arrived. She quickly returned and said the bartender was still working on it. The place was still not crowded and only a few patrons were seated at the bar. About five minutes later the drink arrived. We were a party of five with no special requests and ordered straight off the menu. Two of the five requested an order of rice and beans on the side. Four of the five entrees were delivered, while we waited on the fifth entree to be served. After approximately five minutes we had to track down a server and ask about the remaining entree. A few minutes later the last entree arrived. However, the side orders of rice and beans for two guests still was not served. We had to track someone down again. Did I mention they served me the wrong order and it was not realized until I started to consume it. Needless to say it was not a good experience. To make matters worse the guest who received her food last was late getting back to work because of the delay. The only consolation was the fact the food was fine, not great, but decent. Regardless of the poor service I did not fault the waitress as she still was given a generous tip.

Had the best time at El Arroyo on Thanksgiving weekend! The restaurant has a pleasant vibe even before one enters. As you walk down the stairs to find this gem of a place, you will see a creek on the right flowing next to a wall full of beautiful mossy greens, a staircase adorned with fairy lights leading you into the restaurant. The food is incredibly flavorful. Our party ordered: 1. Wet burrito with chicken 2. Enchiladas (chicken) 3. Veg tacos 4. Fish tacos 5. Jalapeño margarita 6. Cantarito Everything was lip smacking delicious! We took the burrito to go since it was massive. Service was super friendly and helpful, we made many changes to existing items and took a long time to decide the drinks and the server was happily patient with us! Highly recommended for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike!

Deciding where to eat as we passed by this place and a local suggested it. There was one other couple in the restaurant. I tried the relleno and my husband had a burrito. The relleno was undercooked it was hard I didn't finish it. My husband's burrito was small and not good for the price we paid for it. Wayyy too much sauce. Our friend ordered bean dip but we got this salsa type dip. The beans are not typical beans, I'm not sure if they were chili beans? But usually we get normal pinto beans at mexican restaurants. Again not sure what kinda bean dip that was. We will not be eating at this place again if we pass through this place.

An update from my original review. We had a table reserved for a surprise birthday dinner tonight 12/17/23. They had it reserved and enough for the amount of people we intended on having. But shortly after we were seated our anticipated amazing evening took a turn. Our waitress was frazzled as soon as she came to take our drink orders. She had issues with having more than one bill. She put her hand on her forhead and shook it multiple times. Every request was met with pushback, unattentiveness, or just straight forgotten. It took over 15 minutes for our first round of drinks to come out, even though our table was next to the bar. One person didn't get his water for an additional 10-15 minutes after that. She got confused during order taking and left off in the middle due to having to seperate the checks. She couldn't add 2 drinks to one tab. Orders were finally placed, and about 40 minutes later food stated coming out. Everyone got their food except for me. Everyone finished their meal completely and mine had not even come out yet. And all she said is I don't know what happened. We watched as she checked the system and tabs to realize she never put it in. She never apologized nor acknowledged her mistake. A friend spoke to the Manager on shift and made him aware of the situation. He came out asked what I ordered and said he'd get it going. That doesn't change the fact that all our friends had to wait for my food and then watch me eat well after their meal came to an end. It was bad with this waitress from the start. She was flustered and irritated that we were a larger party. We times how long refills would come out. Took over 5 minutes for a glass of water. 2 never got beers they ordered and when they asked her a 3rd time she said oh we ran out on tap. Never did she come address that to the table or offer something else. This was by far the worst service we have ever seen from this restaurant. And that is unfortunate. The manager comped my meal, and that seems to upset the waitress, she said it's her table and she can handle it. And then came by and said I'll take care of it for you, not knowing they already came and talked to us and let us know they were Taking care of the error. Amongst our party we had 4 servers, a chef and 2 kitchen supervisors who all were astonished at the lack of service and attentiveness to our table. And to top it all of we all were charged 20% gratuity to our bills. Even tho the food was missing and drinks never came out. This waitress needs help & serious re training. The food was delicious as always. But this definitely will put a halt in us choosing this venue for a while.

The carnitas tacos were great. The shrimp cocktail had no flavor and no sauce. I also don't like celery so that was a bummer. Should've used the salsa from the chips and salsa. Speaking of which that is not complementary and the rice is extra. The waitress failed to mention that. Only $5 more in total but it's the principle of the thing.

Love their Sonora location. Only dined once in the new Murphys location. Needs help in decor and ambience. Food was good. Waitress not very attentive but the owner was in house and kept checking on us. I'm definitely going back for my 2nd opinion

Really great carnitas, but left us wanting more. Portions were too small for the price. Their handmade tortillas are good, however, smaller than average. Seating outside was nice and cool next to Woods Creek.

An Update, we went back on a Thursday and everything totally changed....Food wasn't half as good and the service wasn't as good either. Start with the salsa, salsa is very important in a Mexican restaurant. Last time we were there the salsa was fire roasted, this time it wasn't and it was vinegary and chunky, much like grocery store salsa. I had grilled chicken tacos and the grill chicken didn't have much flavor, last time I had a grill chicken burrito bowl and the chicken was crazy good.. We again and Carnitas but the flavor again was dull.....I need to know WHO COOKS ON SUNDAYS BECAUSE I WILL ONLY GO WHEN THAT PERSON IS THERE, get some consistency!

Food was good, ambiance was okay. There was a gentleman who had a little too much to drink and sat outside and started to say profanity to my son and I. Aside from that, sitting outside was nice since you hear the creak. Tacos was okay, nothing fancy. If you are in the area I recommend for a late bite.

Went to El Arroyo on our anniversary Sun Nov. 17. Met the owner Andres and were greeted warmly. They served a complimentary taco while we waited for our food. The food was excellent and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We highly recommend them to all.

Came to this crowded restaurant and were seated in a timely manner, waiter was friendly though obviously stressed from running around serving tables and took his time getting our order. One of us ordered the vegan bowl because they loved broccoli, when it came out no broccoli..asked waiter what happened and he said it doesn't come with broccoli until the menu was checked and he had to admit it should have, and said they ran out. Offered some mushrooms on the side instead. His friendliness took a massive dip after that too. What they should have done is comped that plate as they screwed up, not lied about what goes in the vegan bowl. Otherwise the food was good but this left a bad taste in our mouths, so we won't be returning.

Friendly staff, good food, really great air conditioning inside when it's roasting outdoors, and their tables/aesthetic is stellar. I love the custom wood tables and the entire bar section. 21+ can sit in the bar section and you can order all your food there, so don't worry if the main dining area is packed, head on over to the other side! Delicious drinks, lots of margarita options :) I had the Shrimp Rancheros and it was very good. Pretty dang spicy! And my friend got a steak quesadilla and loved it. The fresh guacamole is worth it, it's delicious. It's a little pricier than some other spots in town, but well worth the cost for a fun and delicious meal.

Absolutely wonderful service. It was a quiet day there. They were extremely accommodating. I brought my 8 month old baby with us and everyone had a great attitude and we're so sweet. The food was phenomenal, they even made my chimi in the shape of a heart (the carnitas had the best flavor & were shredded not chunked, how I prefer it)

This is such a beautiful restaurant! Eating on the patio next to the little creek was so much fun, and we took some fun pictures while waiting for our food. The location is super convenient, right in the middle of Sonora and across from our hotel. I ordered a shrimp salad and my friend and I shared the Queso Fundido. The Queso was small, but good. It came with a few tortillas and some chips for dipping. It wouldn't feed more than two people, so if you have more then you might need an additional appetizer lol! Service was good, ambiance was amazing. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

El Arroyo is picturesque. It's located in the heart of Sonora and has a charming outdoor area - framed by stunning flowers and lush foliage. It's also located right by a flowing creek, which further adds to the lovely ambiance. El Arroyo's menu is phenomenal. Their menu has a variety of dishes - ranging from freshly made guacamole, Pescado Al Pastor (they use basa fish and it's excellent), fajita and burrito bowls, a variety of swoon worthy shrimp dishes, incredible salads, carnitas, enchiladas - and much more. Every dish that came out to our group recently looked amazing and was bursting with color and flavor. I was particularly impressed by the presentation of the fish tacos and fajitas. They were definitely photo worthy and I love that they even make their own tortillas here! In addition to our incredible main dishes - our group enjoyed big pitchers of freshly made margaritas and well-made micheladas. If you're looking for an extensive menu that can easily accommodate any dietary concern and event - El Arroyo is your spot. The staff couldn't have been kinder and the food was excellent. I'm looking forward to future visits. Trust.

My kids took me to El Arroyo for my birthday. I gave them five stars for the delicious food, but had a few concerns which are noted below. One star lost for the concerns, and also because they do not give chips and salsa!! You have to buy them. We started with the flour tortilla chips and salsa, and the queso that was served with three corn tortillas. Both were good, and we would definitely order it again. However, you get a 2 ounce cup of salsa -- very stingy!! I love to drown my food in yummy spicy salsa. There was no spice to the queso -- it is Oaxaca cheese which melts fantastically but does not have a lot of flavor. We ordered the three carnitas mini tacos for the table. They were delicious!! Topped with Parmesan cheese and crema ... we wiped them out! I had the carnitas sopes, hold the lettuce and tomato. They came just as ordered, puffy, crispy, and yummy! My son had the chimichanga with carnitas, wet. I thought it could have been more crispy, but my son loved it. Could have softened a bit with the sauce. My other son had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp portion was generous, and the crema was tasty. It just happened to be buy one get one on Margarita pitchers, so we couldn't resist. They were some of the best we've had! Plenty of tequila -- not at all watered down. We will definitely eat there again, and can't wait!! Don't listen to some of the bad reviews regarding the small portions of the antojitos. The meaning of antojito is "snack." They are small, but the quality is scrumptastic! The service was speedy, our water stayed full, and requests were taken care of quickly. I'm glad I picked this place for my birthday. And now the concerns -- Concern one: the reception area is tiny -- the desk is huge and does not leave room to wait. There are signs that say to not block the servers and walkway, but no place else to stand. We entered and were told it would take five minutes -- not to be seated, but to just add our name to the list. There were no others waiting to add their name to the list. You can wait outside, but we were there on April 2nd and it was a chilly evening at 7:00 pm. No matter where we waited, we were in the way including in the bar. I would recommend taking the gargantuan desk out, move the little podium from the dining room, and add a bench or two. Concern two: we were seated at a freshly wiped booth -- super appreciated, but the bench was wet. We did not realize until after we sat down. Seating should be dried before seating guests. Concern three: the hostess very openly fixed her hair at the front entrance. There were bathrooms literally 10 steps away. She spent quite a bit of time and started out facing the wall, turned toward the door, then back toward the wall. I'm not sure if she handles food, but some training is needed.

Maybe it was the "busy holiday" maybe it was understaffing, regardless it was a terrible experience all around. Waited over an hour for our meals. Server not once checked on us not even to refill our water. I understand being busy but unprepared and straight ignoring tables is unacceptable. Food was comped but even then it was still terrible tasting and not as described on menu. Don't bother with this place.

Great ambience and food. You have to pay extra for the chips and salsa however well worth it.

Went for Father's Day and got to sit outside with a nice view and sound of trickling water. We had molcajetes and they were pretty good. My dad got steak and I got steak, chicken and shrimp. We left very full and happy. Next time try the creamy chipotle sauce instead of Chile verde

The churro desert was absolutely amazing!!!! Flavor was incredible... ice cream good quality and churro was thick and soaked with a cinnamon vanilla chocolate mix... liquor too I want another order NOW

The location is cute - we sat outside on a sunny day and it was nice to enjoy our lunch on the patio by the creek. The host and the server were very friendly and we were seated quickly. However, I felt like the service was just okay only because we waited a while to receive our food. Once we received our food, it tasted great. My boyfriend ordered the Veggie Bowl (add rice) and said everything tasted fresh. I ordered the Birria Ramen and it was very tasty. The street sign said the Birria Ramen was $15 but we were charged $16. We also ordered chips and salsa for $2 - kind of a bummer to pay for chips and salsa when most Mexican restaurants give them out complimentary. Regardless, $2 isn't a lot of money and the chips and salsa were good. It was a nice experience overall and we will probably come back when we want something a bit more upscaled than a typical taqueria vibe. I also want to try their margaritas!

Emily was very informative and kind. We had a blast and the food was amazing. We shared a bowl, and it was one of the best tasting dishes I have ever eaten. We sat outside overlooking the pond and lights. Wonderful atmosphere and great food!

the food was delicious and the waitress very polite and helpful. having dinner here with the water running trought the river was very pleasant,

We went for cinco de Mayo and they had the buffet instead of the regular menu.. it was awesome! They had two different soups, quesadilla bar, fajitas, chile verde, Colorado, rice beans.. all was really good!

we ordered the special-1 soft chicken taco,1 hard shell chicken taco,also came with rice and beans- 1-miniature tacos 2-beans were flavorless 3-rice was dead- 4-tortilla chips were stale/dead how about I trade 1 miniature special -as received-very small portions !! for miniature dollars-sounds fair to me- I guess its called shrink flation- the dollar is worth less so I guess the quantity and quality is less-however- the restaurant was very clean,restrooms were clean- good luck-

I would argue that this is the best Mexican restaurant in the county. The ambiance/outdoor seating just really does it. A few too many bugs for my liking but I guess that's what you get for choosing outdoor. I've heard a lot of people complain about the charge for chips and salsa. I would agree that it's steep but I understand the argument for doing so. However, I would suggest that wait staff remind customers. I forgot you have to request it and sadly didn't get to enjoy any.

The location down by a cool mountain stream in the middle of town can't be beat on a hot summer day. It's also scenic. The tacos and flautas appear to be prepared with authentic style, but the chicken they use tastes canned or I would have given 5 stars
