Where To Eat For Under $10 In Mexico City - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"This Roma Norte spot with mismatched art on the walls offers a $7 daily menu that might just be the best deal on this guide. It includes—deep breath—an agua del día, a soup, an appetizer, a main course, and dessert. You can choose between three different soups, but we’ll save you some time: the chicken consommé is the winner. The rice with plantains is great for an appetizer, and for mains, go with one of the daily specials, like the chicharron en salsa verde. You can eat inside or out, but if you’re in a rush, opt for indoors where the service is quicker." - guillaume guevara

One of our favourite meals in Mexico City. The food is flavourful and homely. A great no fuss lunch that will keep you full. The staff were lovely and spoke great English! We loved the hospitality and felt right at home.

I was so happy to find this place. A 4 course lunch with a drink, bread, tortilla chips, and coffee for only $150 pesos is incredible. And yet the food is still so tasty. And they were so friendly inside, I will definitely come back!

Google
The are many superlatives such as 'hidden gem, best find ever', this place deserves them all. The owner was fantastic and spoke great English and was super attentive. We had a lovely meal and felt in a homely environment, with fantastic value, really good experience and highly recommend to anybody. The place is truly a hidden gem!

I ate at El Asturiano twice, lunch then breakfast the next day. Owner, Emilio, is so friendly and welcoming! Food is unpretentious and delicious. It really tastes like it came straight from his grandmother’s kitchen (the mole is her recipe). Coffee is roasted in-house - rich and smooth. Service is warm and I felt at home. I will definitely return next time I’m in CDMX!

This place is a gem. Run by a family for 40 years. The food was all simple, but very good. The feeling was an old school family dinner, not being rushed and being well taken care of by the staff. At my dinner everyone else inside the restaurant was a regular, people coming again and again.

Perfect. Do not skip this place. Food tasted just as if my grandmother had mate it - if she was mexican. Super friendly staff and great food with large portions. I've never felt so welcome and at home at a restaurant.

Lovely relaxed restaurant with a nice vibe. The manager/staff were lovely and accomodation. We ordered from the menu of the day which was great value. For 145 mxn you get 3 savoury courses, a fruit water, a little desert, bread, tortilla chips and coffee. We tried the bean soup and consume to start, then rice with mole and a Waldorf type salad, then we had almond chicken and mole enchiladas. Everything was delicious and would definitely eat there again.

Incredible food and service. The owner is especially warm and delightful. Most local restaurant I’ve been to—feels like you’re in someone’s home kitchen. I had juice, coffee, bread, chips and 4 courses for $145MXN.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and service from this amazing Spanish cafe in Roma Norte. Came here for breakfast (at 2pm lol) and had a delicious meal. I will be back for one of their daily lunch specials--what everyone else was eating. It looked delicious. PS, get an Asturiano (espresso drink with eggnog). RICO!

Yelp
If you want to eat homey Mexican food, that regular people every day eat, you should go here. Very friendly service and I was the only foreigner in the entire place. I thought I was short on cash (they only take cash) and the lady was saying that is okay, don't worry about it.. In Spanish of course, which I didn't understand a whole lot, but I understood her kindness and smile :)

Yelp
Little mom and pop restaurant, delicious 'menu de dia' included: soup, salad, main dish, fresh juice, coffee and a churro ($80)
