It's impossible to find a better service and family atmosphere than Atlacatl. The food is always delicious. "Special breakfast" is 100% recommended. And the best pupusas in town.

This used to be one of my favorite spots growing up, they have remodeled very nicely. My problem is with the quality of the food and drinks. Orchata is extremely watered down. Asked for a replacement and it came with a mosquito inside. Lastly ordered the ceviche mixto. IT HAD CELERY!!!! CELERY DOSE NOT BELONG IN A CEVICHE!!!! Will not be returning.

I had wait an hour to receive my food, I didn't mind but it was ridiculous. I came there 5 minutes before it should been ready but I had to wait an hour which sucked. But the food tasted great, loved the cream cheese they had for my tacos and the salad was delicious too. I also got a banana milkshake which tasted fresh of bananas and it was yummy. The workers were kind too, no issues but they need to be better/faster at bringing out orders for people especially when they called ahead of time. Besides that, I recommend coming here and trying out their food even the milkshakes.

Went to order for take out, after 45 mins for like 2 pupusas i realized everyone else ordering after me kept getting their food, only to realize my pupusas were sitting in the window and the lady wasnt working in order, YIKES not the service i expect from a salvadorian restaurant terrible service, awesome job management👍

A friend recommended this place to come eat since where we usually go when we’re in the area was closed. We went in and ordered some horchatas they weren’t the best very plain tasting. We got our food and we noticed a fishy smell to the meat we got mind you we got meat not fish. We also got two baleadas and a pupusa. Both we’re horrible not fresh at all. The baleadas had sooo much refried beans in it worst part is that they were sour beans, they smelt weird and tasted very bad. We asked the server if they usually tasted this sour and she said that that’s how they’ve always been made and that they were fresh. They were indeed not fresh at all seemed like they were trying to get rid of them and serve them even when they’ve gone bad. The pupusa was also bad the cheese had also gone bad but they still chose to use it. I also had to say the server was also rude. At first she was respectful and got our orders but after we commented on the sour beans cheese and meat she started having an attitude. Everyone took a few bites of the food and couldn’t eat anymore one of our friends didn’t even touch her food because of how badly we reacted to ours. Not only was the server rude she also called us uneducated because of our comments about the food. We got our bill of $80 which we did not want to pay but did just to get out of this horrible restaurant. Would definitely not recommend this place and rather go to La Casa De Las Baleadas where they truly make fresh food and have amazing servers. If I couldn’t rate this place a 0/10 I would 100%

The food was not all bad. The service is really slow, and the beans were floating in a bed of oil. Not the cleanest either.

Tasty food with nice customer service. The meat was well done, tender and tasty. Prices were very fair, able to enjoy a great meal for under 20 USD. Impressive and would go back, I would recommend!

Best pupusas and horchata in Miami area! It was our first time wife and I and we loved it. We had to stop by twice! Delicious food and great service! Will be back when in town again and again!!!! Keep up the great service and delicious tasteful food!!! Breakfast plates are huge and very delicious as well!!!!

When they say "Baleadas sencillas", they mean that! It barely had nothing inside! Lots of flour and a little bit of beans and cheese. - too overpriced for $8! Portions overall are small for the price. Service also leaves a lot to be desired. Not returning Pedimos varios platos y, en general, las porciones son pequeñas para el precio. Cuando dicen "Baleadas sencillas", ¡eso es lo que dicen! ¡Apenas tenía nada dentro! Mucha harina y un poco de frijoles y queso. ¡Demasiado caro para $8! pura masa Aunque dice que hay especiales de almuerzo disponibles, la mesera no los ofrece ni te trae el menú hasta que lo pides. El servicio también deja mucho que desear. No volveremos a Atlacatl.

Had a huge pupusa craving, and our local Miami friend suggested that we all go here! PARKING: A small lot with free parking WHAT I ORDERED: * Baleada * Tamal de elote * Pupusas de frijol * La Picadita * Agua de tamarindo * Mojito FOOD + DRINKS: The pupusas and tamal came out first, and were a great way to start off the meal! The tamal was tender went especially well with the crema, and the pupusas were pretty solid. The curtido was really good here - nice and tangy. La picadita was a nice way for us to sample a whole bunch of Salvadoran bites that we were craving as a lighter break between the other dishes - the tortillas and tostones especially. But the star of the show was the steak obviously! Very well seasoned and juicy. The baleada came out last and was also delicious with tons of fresh avocado. I do wish we got the one with egg, but maybe next time. The aguas were pretty standard, but great to wash down the food. The mojito was okay, but a little too sweet. SERVICE: Super friendly service and food came out fairly fast. VIBES: Spacious and lots of seating - great for catching up with friends or family. BOTTOM LINE: Pretty solid place to get your Salvadoran food fix - hope to come back sometime.

I'd have given it a 4* but then the bill came with a credit card charge that just ruined the experience. Any restaurant that charges for water or credit card fees, to go containers etc... should consider some other industry as these are standard expenses. I won't be back. I had a little difficulty ordering as there were too many choices for this hungry tummy and decided to try the Rice with Calamari and Shrimp. The server recommended I try something else since a previous customer didn't like it as it's an acquired taste for non Latin diners. I told her that I've an extremely cultured palette and didn't think that would be an issue unless the food wasn't cooked properly. My meal came out with a cute presentation to include my order of sweet plantains (maduros) with a side of bread (pan) that was fresh off the oven. The rice was moist and there were 2 large prawns with a bunch of shrimp and calamari pieces.

Ordered beef soup medium size and it was delicious! The restaurant definitely doesn't skimp out on the beef, the soup had huge chunks of beef and the meat was really tender. I loved the vegetables and broth too. For less than $10, this was an amazing dish! The spicy pickled vegetables were good too and looked fresh. The pupusa with cheese and chicharones was delicious. Everything was delicious! Server was Carlos and he was attentive, friendly, and professional. Will definitely come back again!

Unfortunately the beef soup was terrible. I always order this soup in other Salvadoran restaurants and never, ever had I tried such a greasy broth. It could be the bottom of the pan because it is 3:30 pm, but this is not healthy nor tasty. A couple of fatty beef pieces I found in the soup. (I left it as shown on the picture) The pupusa was delicious and the Carne asada dish was fine. They should be more careful with the soups. Not returning to this place because I can get better for less price. I live in Miami.

They have free parking and are open late. We had the beef soup which tasted homemade.The service was also good as the 2 severs worked nicely together.

I called to place an order at 4:00pm for take out. The lady who took my order said in 25 minutes my order would be ready. Is 5:00pm and I'm still waiting for my order. That's one of the reasons I don't frequently place orders from this place. In my opinion it is very UNPROFESSIONAL. What I witnessed was as you arrive they place your order not as you call. I really love their pupusas but is unacceptable how long they make you wait. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I received my order at 5:20pm

I've been coming here for over a year now. I will not lie, the place has a funny smell, almost like wet rag and roach spray.......aside from thay,the food is great for the price. Came here one night after happy hour. Server was very nice. She helped us with food options and even offered us a surf and turf. I loved everything but the ceviche. it was very dry and you can tell that the fish was sitting in the lime for so long that it was beyond cooked from the acid. They also have a DJ outside and karaoke

Always a must stop when I return to my hometown. Delicious food. Didn't give 4 stars, as last time I was there this past week, the service was not good at all. Server took forever to return to our table and we had to be waving down someone else to refill drinks. I think they were short staffed, but still.

My family has been coming here for years and have never been disappointed,the food is great and so are the employees. They have recently updated their location and it looks great. For those first timers: It is valet parking but you tip what you like.

I love going to this restaurant, been going for over 10 years to the location in 22 ave and 7 street. However,this location ambience, sitting out side, music is nice. I been to this location about 4 times or more in the past 3 month s with my family, today I notice a SERVICE fee which is posted outside the door where the sign of visa, master card is placed, of course I didn't notice because I just trilled to eat there and enjoy myself. I order my three kids , my aunt and my self, and one beer today was full which I understood, since there was a game, they had one waitress out side , and I didn't notice inside however, I knew there were busy so I waited it took a Little longer then except , but my family is not as patience as me. I get upset because when I get my charge I notice a SERVICE FEE I asked to check what it is but I knew they were charging me for their merchant fees , I asked to speak to the owner, I walk to the bar the tap was about 50 and up plus the tip , the service fee was about $1 and change, I getting upset because I know years ago, this was illegal to do when the daughter of the owner come she starts telling with an attitude the reason why that a year ago they implemented this to help the business raised up, so I could See her frustration why they did but I got to her level and said it was illegal to do then someone comes and tell her what is happing she saids NO SHE READ IT , I said no I didn't cause I love coming here all I'm thinking is the food, and I was not told by the waiter if I paid with a card I will be charge so the daughters owner tells me we love you as a customer but if you CANT go to the atm and pay cash then that's why we are charging you the merchant fee. I said This should be included in price of your food so she tells me well are you going to be able to pay $13 for the chicken instead of $ 11 that you paid and I said YES. I asked again for the owner she said my mom is busy which I understood because she might be in the kitchen. When I did my research I come to find out merchant service have implemented this SERVICE fee where the business has to be register and have disclosures in the door to say it. However, waiters are not trained to let you know, then you make your decision. After she just gave me her back and ignore me so I left signed my credit receipt and I left. She is right I won't come back not because of the food but how she made me feel, I should be honor to be at the restaurant. I never disrespected you're waiters, or your staff, yes I got A little frustrated and I apologized now but I was just trying to understand your point of view and I wanted you to understand mine. But it was easy for you to turned around and give your back. I work with business to help them with their business priorities I always look out for them and what's important cause I'm the end we are all Customers. I'm So sad I won't be coming back because I really love your food and location , I just wish the waiter would of told me upfront with a great attitude and I would never question it. ;-)

DO NOT ORDER TAKE-OUT!! I have order twice and they made me wait 30-40 min. I feel like They literally start cooking when you get there. 3 stars because the pupusas were delicious both times but I will order from their other locations better.

One of my favorites spots for sunday breakfast, nice big portion desayuno con steak, scrambled eggs, avocado, cheese and tortillas,a power breakfast to start the day the with, dont forget the cafe con leche. Service is fast and the girls are very friendly and courteous.

Food varies. The only consistently good thing is the pupusas. Other food is hit and miss. The grilled ribs are just too pieces and overpriced. The dessert empanadas with natilla inside are good if they're not overcooked. Hit and miss.

Good-tasting food, won't take that away, but the wait for an appetizer was over 30 mins and the restaurant wasn't even crazy packed. I ordered a to-go order at the beginning of my meal and an hour later it still wasn't ready. I wouldn't come again just because of the ridiculous wait times :/

We ordered an orange juice and the orange juice was filled with fruit flies. I expect a refund for this item, super disappointing and disgusting

Fantastic Salvadorian food. Place is updated and spacious. You can expect your typical staples such as pupusas. The various dishes we ordered were deliciously full of flavor. Service was great and recommendations were on point. Definitely a repeat especially if you're in the mood for a homemade meal.

Is always a pleasure to come this place, this is my spot for a fast meal, there is always a great service and great food... by the way the waitress here are more pretty than the ones who works in Hooters 100%

Yum! This is one of the best breakfasts I've had in Little Havana. The desayuno especial con carne is definitely the move. The steak was so flavorful, perfectly cooked, and a sizable portion! Make sure to try their sauces and pickled veggies with it. The cream, beans, cheese, and plantains are the perfect complements. For my eggs I got huevos rancheros and opted for cuban bread instead of tortillas. Top it off with cafe con leche and you have the perfect meal. Looking forward to a return trip on my next visit to Miami!

Friday nights we decided to tried something new Salvadorenan food place is updated very nice , service is great if you have a chance ask for Ana our waitress was very helpful and guided us through the menu , we started first with the traditional pupusas of cheese and combinada very tasteful , for drinks have the piña colada and margarita they were super delicious well done! We ordered a different kind of plates and all they were very good if you want a comfort Latin food this is the place to tried they have karaoke night so that's a plus too definitely to give a tried

When my dad and I walked in, a young girl asked us something in Spanish. She saw we don't really speak the language so she called another waitress who gave us menus. The girl had broken English but we completely understood each other. She recommended my dad and I to take their beef soup(we ask to take the beef out and put extra veggies). The soup was flavored and delicious! Later on my dad order another order of the soup and I ordered grilled chicken with a baked potato and salad. The prices are cheap, the food is delicious, and he fact that they don't really speak English there means they are authentic and so do their food.

Very good and very inexpensive El Salvadoran/Central American Food. A nice clean restaurant that has quite the high turnover as tables full of families, area workers and teens on dates pile in to chow down on ample portions of familiar foods from one of the smallest countries in the Western Hemisphere; El Salvador, but one that also has a large menu of food from its mountains to its Pacific shoreline. Fish is big with Salvadorans and the menu reflects this; each day is a new soup and many of them are seafood chowders and stews redolent with salty odors of the sea. A table near us chose several orders of the fried red snapper - heads and tails clearly pushing beyond the plate's boundaries - these wee some yummy big fish! My companion had shrimp (these giant babies were prawns!) a la plancha - perfect amount of garlic and butter (!) with huge disc sized tostones and a side salad. We shared a perfect plate of crunchy calamari and I opted for the more peasant styled dish called pupusas (a filled tortilla that is a casual cousin to the South American arepa) - one was with ground chicharonnes (pig skin) and another with cheese and lorocco (a gentle Central American plant that has a subtle taste between sorrel and sage) - they were just spectacular - I was literally full but couldn't stop eating till I finished - I knew they were so good it would be a while before I tasted their like again. Muy autentico!

I ordered a quesadilla, Mexican style, based on the menu I assumed it was Chicken & Cheese.... well, barely any chicken, and then I was surprised by the onion and tomato in it. It's not listed on the menu which is detrimental to someone with food allergies. Also, someone in my party ordered Huevos Rancheros and there was eggshells in it. The food came entirely too long and we noticed everyone else was served chips & salsa but us. So beware of this place.

To be honest, I've come to this place before and had zero complaints. Today I brought my 2 little ones. They had burgers and I ordered a steak. I asked that their food come first so they won't wait, didn't happen. Everything came at the same time and my steak was cold. I dont return food and I never ask for any food to be free.. disappointed

Food was amazing with good flavor and cheap prices. It was not a long wait to start eating and they give u a small free appetizer which was Tostitos and salsa. Everyone was very polite. I was very pleased with the service overall

Super pissed with the place. I order online. I understand calling before to tell me it will be 45 mins not an hour and a half to get here! Plus have my food cold not to mention it was completely wrong. I told the driver this is what I order and what I'm missing he tells ok sign here and what's my tip ???? Are you serious?! Learn costumer service that's your tip. Ugh. Never again.

Food is decent but the servers don't know the first thing about customer service. The attitude on their face and lack of care for their customers is enough to make me not want to go back. With any request or order placed, our waitress rolled her eyes. I tried the Horchata which was by far, THE worst horchata I've ever had so I told her to please bring water instead. She made a face and asked me if I had already tried the drink. Well obviously, I'm telling you I didn't like it, either way, it's not like she would've served it to another table so who cares??? We received zero refills throughout the whole dining experience and she ignored our table every time she passed by. Then my friend ordered a breaded Tilapia and she received the wrong order. The waitress looked at her blankly without offering any solution.When I asked for a to-go box, her response was "i told you it was too much food". This was like the twilight zone, I couldn't believe this complete stranger who was supposed to be providing a SERVICE kept getting irritated at anything we told her. Towards the end, we asked another server to call the manager over. We saw the server give our waitress a heads up. The waitress immediately scurried over and finally cracked a semi-smile asking if we needed anything else. After 15 minutes of our dishes sitting there, she managed to make it to our table only because we asked to speak to her supervisor. Ridiculous. The manager finally came after 20 minutes and defended the waitress saying she was new and training. Whatever happened to the customer is always right??? Specially when we WERE right??? Attitude is not something that can be learned through training, it's simply common sense. Never going back.

Yucks we ordered twice, both times they forgot items. The person answering the phones is rude and food is cold, and had an eyelash in it. I do NOT recommend eating there, or ordering from there.

I am a regular here...yes, first name basis with the waitresses. These ladies are always in a friendly morning mood! They know my breakfast order, which is the special breakfast or "El especial," as the menu states. It's a fully loaded breakfast so bring your appetite. It brings two eggs, fried beans, cream, one tortilla, a piece of cheese and avocado or fried plantains. You may also select to make them "rancheros," which means a salsa like tomato sauce onto of your eggs. Delicious! Writing this review is making me want a plate! I also recommend to ask for some hot chocolate. It is made with Honduras chocolate. Karaoke: Fridays, 2 for 1 margaritas and beer bucket specials $2.00 popusas- filled tortillas with your choice of a combination between... cheese, beans and pork.

Had a great lunch today - I'm not sure, but I think this was my first foray into Salvadorian food. Went with a group of co-workers, and each had different items. So for those of you unfamiliar with Salvadorian cuisine, one of their staple dishes is a Pupusa. It's kind of like a stuffed flour pancake - usually filled with beans, fried pork, cheese, and other fillings. We had several different ones, along with their queso frito (one of my favs), tamales, and as if that wasn't enough, I had the Salvadorian steak lunch special, which came with a side of Gallo Pinto and a huge Tostone. The service was good - the neighborhood is in the "Little Central America" part of Little Havana - so not the most romantic of locales, but the food was solid and would recommend to someone looking specifically for pupusas.

My first time ordering from here and it was a great experience. I placed my order through Grubhub it was the Salvadorian-style steak with rice, beans and mashed potatoes. It was amazing! They drench it in this savory sauce it tastes like sofrito maybe i'm wrong but it was off the chain also it comes with cooked onions & peppers. I don't know what they put in that sauce but they got me hooked. Also delivery was pretty fast. Definitely will order again!

I wanted to love this place, I really did. Being Salvadoran, I always love to support my people. I'm from the DC area, where Salvadoran restaurants are plentiful, delicious, and affordable. I was hoping that would translate to Miami as well. I found this place on Yelp, and despite some critical reviews, decided to give it a try as I was in the mood for some pupusas. I arrive to the place and am seated. Starving, I placed an order of tacos in as she took a drink order. And that's the last i saw of her for thirty five minutes. I've worked in the service industry before and I get things happen, but THIRTY FIVE MINUTES to come back and take my order? That's ridiculous. The restaurant was decently crowded but not packed. She didn't bother to refill my water or even lie and tell me she's swamped. I had to wait so long to place my order and when she finally came out, the tacos were cold. I should have followed my gut instinct and left, but I really wanted pupusas so I put an order in while my boyfriend ordered the carne asada medium. we wait another half an hour (this time i was willing to forgive the wait) and when we get our food, i was brought the wrong pupusas and forgot half of my boyfriend's order, as they forgot to bring him his sides they also overcooked his steak, which he wasn't pleased with. Now, i'm a human garbage disposal but even I couldn't stomach the meat. i ate what was in front of me because i knew i would have to wait a million more years before getting attention. when it came time to pay, nobody came to get my card so I went in and asked for someone to ring me up. a rather rude waitress with awful lipstick and a worse attitude didn't even bother to acknowledge me before saying something to another waitress about how i needed to be helped. i hope this woman loses her job soon, as she was so negative and nasty and paid no attention to any of the customers. my waitress finally rang me up and i left, disappointed, dismayed, and disillusioned at the fact that Miami's Salvadoran restaurant scene is severely lacking. also, i know there aren't as many salvadorans in Miami as there are in other parts of the country, but to charge over $3.00 for ONE pupusa is a robbery. the only bright spot at this restaurant was the parking attendant, who was absolutely courteous, friendly, and quick. perhaps he could teach the waitresses a thing or two.

My mom and I arrived at this restaurant today and we proceeded to seat ourselves and then help ourselves to two copies of the menu sitting on a nearby table. I opted for a healthy choice, a Chicken salad (I don't recall if the word "Caesar" was in the name of the dish; I apologize). Our requested drinks were delivered in a speedy fashion. Wi-Fi was available after a quick screen on my iPhone with terms and conditions you have to agree to if you want to use their Wi-Fi service. The food arrived promptly. The waitress' demeanor was quite pleasant. After a few minutes, out of the blue, a song started playing over some speaker. I would assume it was a Salvadoran song, as the place is a Salvadoran restaurant. The song ended, and then silence. No more music. Don't get me wrong--this was a good thing given the genre of the song, but it was rather bizarre that a single song would be played on the speaker. This could mean one of two things. The establishment can only afford one song, or the song was the cue to turn the turkey roasting in the oven (much in the same way we get an hourly musical cue at my hospital to turn the patients to reduce the likelihood of bed sores). Perhaps the restaurant doesn't one of those high-tech rotisserie devices yet. My salad was delicious. No complaints whatsoever in that department! I would recommend this place.

food was late and cold... but once I warmed it up it was good. fries were okay.. Pollo milanse was good

Their antojito atlacatl is one of the best option, because you can try their chicken, cheese, yuca frita and some more.

Food was decent, but service was terrible- we ordered delivery, and they took two hours to deliver (I was told to expect 45-60 minutes). I understand things get busy, but notification that my food was going to take so much longer is not so much to ask for. They got the order wrong, (the receipt was right, they just didn't put everything we ordered in it). We called back and informed them, they apologized and said that the rest of our food would be coming very soon, and.... nothing. It never came, and it got so late in the night we just gave up on getting the meal we paid for.

I came for the regional cuisine of El Salvador. The "I love Pupusas" t-shirts that the waitresses were wearing made me order 3 (revueltas) chicharon y queso. By looking at the rest of the menu it seems that you can feed an army at bargain prices and probably more efficient than the department of veteran affairs. The Pupusas came piping hot (National dish of El Salvador, it sort of like a thick corn tortilla stuffed either pork, cheese, beans, loroco, Etc.) although not the best I ever had but still decent. The servers were attentive and nice. The restaurant needs a little love but if don't mind eating at diners, drive-ins, and dives.... El Atlacalt is cheap and good.

I was invited for lunch at Atlacatl by my daughter on July 17 at 12:30. I ordered two cheese & loroco pupusas, which were served this time, squished and reheated by a panini...NOT FRESHLY MADE AND COOKED! Not withstanding, my daughter insisted I take two more home, and to my dismay, these too are squished by their panini grill...THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! I lived in El Salvador 50 years...and I can detect a freshly made pupusa from a reheated one. I did not see the owner there, who always waves back...his presence is missed. I am reluctant to go back!

John Paul Rodriguez . I ordered " La Carne Asada with plantains/rice/frijoles fritos". The Lemonade was great a finisher to top it off! I thought the food was excellent. If you enjoy a healthy yummy central American cuisine, this is the place to be! definitely hits your palate and stomach juices just right!. IM south American PAISA with Italian background so I know my stuff! its also nearby the world famous to calle ocho!

Delicious & authentic pupusas, great tasting horchata too! If you're ever in Miami looking for a good salvadorian restaurant, this is the one.
