The 35 Best Restaurants in Cartagena, Colombia | Eater

"Cartagena didn’t have many decent cocktails bars in 2013, so the owners of El Barón opened this haven to classic drinks and cutting-edge mixology trends. They put clear effort into everything they do, from the ice cubes to the glassware to the decorations, but most of all the cocktails. Go for something fruity like the Pintor de Anécdotas with rye, oloroso sherry, banana-strawberry shrub, and blackberry-soy reduction, or feel the cooling tingle of the Arquitecto de Inviernos with eucalyptus-infused vodka, Fernet-Branca, aloe vera, and citric acid. The tapas menu shows off that dedication as well, with spicy fried chicken, lamb kofta, ceviche, shrimp rolls, and pork samosas. Located in the beautiful plaza of San Pedro Claver, the bar is the best place to relax with a drink after a nice walk around the walled city. [$$]" - Juliana Duque

Today we enjoyed a wonderful short break at El Barón in Cartagena. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, perfect for a quick escape from the city’s heat. We had a cold latte and a small snack. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Overall, El Barón offered a memorable and cozy experience, and we’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a charming spot to unwind in Cartagena.

We stopped by for cocktails and tapas and could not have been happier. Our sever was very helpful choosing from their fantastic cocktail menu and the crab tostadas and charcuterie board were plenty for the two of us. The square was lively with performers and vendors but they respected us when we said we weren't interested. Definitely worth sitting outside after the sun has gone down, I highly recomend.

10/10 to food, service, cocktails and overall atmosphere. The roti chicken and burrata were top notch. Fried chicken was to die for. Roti chicken was finger licking good that I ended up ordering again. Cocktails were amazing. Location is perfect. A must visit if you are in Cartagena!!

El Baron has a limited menu but excellent quality food and cocktails. There is limited seating inside and a spacious outdoor seating area. The service was great, and the food was delicious with generous portions. There were some very creative signature cocktails. The Rosarito was an interesting balance of sweet and slightly bitter presented creatively with tiny hearts in a foamy top and a spicy rim for a kick. The Puro was stronger with smoke that swirled in the glass, enhancing both flavor and taste. I'd recommend this spot for the creativity of the drinks alone, but the food is also great, though limited in portions. Mainly burgers, sandwiches, and tapas. I highly recommend the "macho" plantain cake. It's delicious!

Best cocktails in Cartagena and some of the best I’ve ever had. The attention to detail is amazing. Each drink is unique, with its own style and even different types of ice.
