"Cartagena didn’t have many decent cocktails bars in 2013, so the owners of El Barón opened this haven to classic drinks and cutting-edge mixology trends. They put clear effort into everything they do, from the ice cubes to the glassware to the decorations, but most of all the cocktails. Go for something fruity like the Pintor de Anécdotas with rye, oloroso sherry, banana-strawberry shrub, and blackberry-soy reduction, or feel the cooling tingle of the Arquitecto de Inviernos with eucalyptus-infused vodka, Fernet-Branca, aloe vera, and citric acid. The tapas menu shows off that dedication as well, with spicy fried chicken, lamb kofta, ceviche, shrimp rolls, and pork samosas. Exceptional craft cocktail bar in a beautiful building in Centro across from an amazing historic cathedral. The menu is creative & so fun to read. Try the charcuterie, the cheeses were fabulous! The crab tostadas were scrumptious! The mixology was a true art form!

Superb cozy little bar which is an example of a top notch bar should be like. Starts off with friendly and professional bar staff who expertly create cocktails. Bar is clean and neatly designed. Great food as well. Bar reminds me of typical neighborhood bars found in El Born Barcelona.

There’s something magical about having a amazing cocktails and food while people watching at Plaza de San Pedro. El Baron became my favorite bar in Cartagena since the first I ever visited. The cocktails only get better with the years, the food is always great and the service makes me feel at home every time I visit. I would recommend El Baron with my eyes closed.
