Service so bad we left.
For context, we were a group of 5 that only found space in the back patio. Another group was just leaving, the heaters were on, and the female busser politely invited us to order inside at the bar.
When we got inside, we patiently waited our turn, especially since there was only one bartender taking food + drink orders. After waiting 10 minutes without acknowledgment, we started putting in our order with the Bartender. He asks where we’re sitting to run the food, we say “the back patio.” He looks at us incredulously and says “that area isn’t open.” He shook his head and ran to the back and proceeded to chastise our friend sitting there saying “This area isn’t open. You can’t see here.” When he came back, we clarified that there was a group there before us, that the busser had cleaned the space for us, etc. He said, “This isn’t an argument. You can’t sit there.” We asked then where we could sit as a group of 5 and, without saying a word, he shrugged his shoulders and just waved his hands at the dining room.
We had no problem understanding that the area wasn’t open, but the fact that 1) there was no alternative given for a group of our size (most tables were 2-3 tops), 2) it was hard to believe for him that we had already been helped out back there and made us feel in the wrong for not knowing the back was closed (which we had no reason to think was the case), and 3) he said it so unkindly was enough reason for us to leave.
Disappointed to say the least, we were looking forward to the yummy food and drinks. We got amazing service down the street at Main Street Piano Bar. I hope others don’t have to experience his bad attitude.
