While LA taco seems to rate this place pretty highly, this did not seem to be our experience here. The ingredients certainly look great on paper but execution was mediocre in terms of speed. They have a lot of online orders and seem to prioritize them before in-store customers. Flavor-wise everything seems pretty good. Service was rather slow. The atmosphere was pretty casual.

We liked it, the biria meat is a good quality, we had biria loaded fries, the vegan tacos are tasty, and black beans as well. The only thing that I would do is add more of the mole sauce in the tacos. Thank you!

Birria Breakfast Burrito: Stuffed with ridiculously tender and juicy shredded beef, eggs, tater tots, cheese, fire roasted salsa, and crema. Wrapped in a warm, soft flour tortilla with a crispy cheese crust. So good! and the portion is good enough for two. The breakfast box comes with chips, sauce, salsa, guacamole and a drink.

Food was delicious. Maybe I starved myself to long because I was still hungry though after I ate my meal 🥴☺️✨ Easy self order machine. I am a visual person so it would be helpful for more pictures on the meal 😉

We used Ulysses and El Barrio to cater an event for a group of teenagers and everyone raved about the food with a few of the guests asking for the name of the place. The food was delivered hot and plentiful and on time. We did a build your own taco bar with carne asada, chicken, cauliflower mole, and rice and beans. All the meats were delicious and this was some of the tastiest rice we've ever had. More than enough chips and salsa, and even the guacamole didn't run out, which almost never happens. The only speed bump was there was some confusion about serving ware, so just make sure you get that included in your invoice if you need it. Ulysses was amazing, though, and picked some up for us. Would definitely use them again. This was actually a much better experience than when we went to the restaurant to try all the tacos to figure out what we wanted. Then, it took a long time to get our order and we felt we didn't get enough guac or salsas with our food. But the food tasted great so we took a chance on their catering and are glad we did.

Nothing was great. Carne asada was the best, but the birria was dry and the shrimp was too sour. Would not return.

Ordered the waygu birria burrito box online for pick up. Food was ready exactly when they said it would be. This burrito is massive, I'm a large guy and couldn't finish it with the chips and guac that comes in the box. The churro bites were good but ate those much later since I was stuffed. Will be back again to try a different meat option.

5 stars for the food! I can't believe how delicious the food was from here! I was doing an open house and we got super hungry so we ordered some of this to be ordered for lunch. With Grabhub they have a special 2 for 1 entree option on the menu. What a great deal and quick delivery. The only thing they forgot was the utensils and napkins so we had to use the chips as a fork lol! Hopefully I will get to dine in soon to check it out but the food was super delicious!! We both ordered the Shrimp Gobernador Street Taco. This shrimp bowl was so huge and there was a lot of huge shrimp in this entree. It was so huge I had the rest today for lunch. The chips and salsa was so good too! We were very pleasantly surprised at how good it was :)

Everything was amazing... I ordered two tacos and the rice and beans plate. I never been here, but I've seen the location so I finally stopped and I was greeted warmly asked if I've been here before they explained how things went and placed my order and I waited and everything was clean! I couldn't wait to eat my tacos and I was not disappointed. What was a super amazing little treat was mini churros! So yummy.

What is going on with takeout in this city lately?!!! It seems like one expensive and disappointing meal after the next. I get the times are tough for businesses, but come on! I had the barrio box with the Al Pastor burrito which, after tip, ended up being $25. The "Al pastor" or so they called it. The meat could best be described as tiny, chewy bits of underseasoned pork. None of that rich seasoning that's on real Al Pastor. And there was BARELY any of it in there because the burrito was 90% unseasoned rice and black beans. The menu just said "beans" Which I assumed would be pinto. Would've never ordered a burrito with black beans. There was wilted lettuce in the burrito, and there wasn't supposed to be lettuce at all. There was no pineapple which was supposed to be in there. The "griddled" cheese on the tortilla was chewy like the burrito had been sitting for 20 minutes. They give you two of the tiniest churro bites you could possibly imagine, and to top it all off they're chewy and cold, and taste like old fry oil. Also they tried to give me a canned sprite instead of Mexican sprite which is what I ordered. Thankfully, I caught it before I walked out with the order and fixed it. The only acceptable part of the meal was the chips and salsa, and that's sad. I don't know if anyone can relate, but when you sit down with a meal you just paid an arm and a leg for, and researched, and drove out of the way for, and looked forward to, when it ends up sucking so bad it's just a major punch in the gut. What a massive waste of money.

Most recent experience was less than ideal. Ordered the 3 taco barrio box deal (corn) and it was a mess. No chips were included and the tacos looked they were assembled by someone wearing a blindfold. At first, couldn't even tell there were 3 tacos included. It's possible the driver dropped the bag or it moved around in the car en route but the fact that chips are missing from the order too makes me feel like the order was doomed from the start

Ordered the three signature taco box that comes with chips and guac, three salsas, and two churro bites. Although no one was in the store when I ordered, they have a lot of online pickup orders. My order took about 20 minutes. The shrimp taco was probably my favorite, cooked with enormous flavor and was super juicy. The al pastor and wagyu carne asada tacos were solid, but better doused with the salsas. Salsa verde is my favorite, a bit spicier than normal, but great nonetheless. Chips and guac were nothing special, wouldn't order if it didn't come with the meal. The churro bites were a nice minimal sweet treat to end the meal. I do like the modernness of the store and packaging of the taco box. Store is small but seems more like a to-go spot, so theres still a number of barstools and handful of tables to munch at. H

Ordered take out from el barrio. The service is quick and fast when we went to go pick it up the food was ready. The place is nice with a good modern design. We got two burritos one Wagyu Birria burrito and one Wagyu asada burrito. Both of the burritos were ok nothing special but not bad either. Just average they were a little sweet even with both of the red and green salsas.

I stopped by this local taco shop at around 8PM on a Sunday. I walked up to the counter and was instructed to place my order there. I ordered the 8-taco flight (4 shrimp and 4 pollo asado) and pollo asado mulita. The total came up to ~$30. I waited for about 20 minutes, which was really long considering the tacos are pretty small. While I waited, I noticed that there was countering seating as well as table tops with seating for approximately 10 people. I took the taco flight to-go and overall, it wasn't the best or the worst that I've had. My husband really enjoyed the fixings (carrots, red onion, cilantro) that came with the tacos but, all in all it was just okay. The meat wasn't well flavored and was pretty dry. I might go back to try something else, but don't have my hopes up.

Amazing tacos. Loved the tortillas & lil cinnamon things were a lot lighter/fluffier than I expected! Def coming back.

food: it was okay, not impressed but not mad about it. I came looking for birria ramen and did not find any. i tried a birria mulita and the loaded fries. maybe their specialty is the tacos. service: i like the online order kiosk, makes everything direct. outside of that the employees were cool. they were busy so it's not like there was time to become friends, lol. would i go again? maybe not. but not mad that i tried them out. it's worth trying to see if you enjoy your order.

I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in eating tacos than after coming to El Barrio. While the 2oz of guac was pretty good, the tacos were cold, lacked flavor, and the wait time was eternal. I ordered the shrimp, cauliflower, and nopal taco combo: the nopal was cold and soggy, and while the shrimp was well-cooked, it didn't contribute much to the flavor. My friends ordered some of their meat tacos and did not feel too well. I ordered the stuffed fries, and they were stale to say the least. Nothing about this place other than their branding is authentic. Spending $27 on 3 tacos and stuffed fries that were in no way fresh is outrageous. Very disappointing

After being in LA a few days, only eating organic gluten-free seaweed and kale chips, I craved the normal. El Barrio me rescato! I called to order for takeout and was told they only take online orders. Ordering was easy through Toast and the order was ready when I got there to pick it up. The carne asada street tacos were fire! The beef was cooked perfectly and was smooth. The cilantro and onions perfectly chopped and abundant. The carne asada bowl was grande and full of yummers. I will no doubt remember this place for some tasty grub next time I'm in LA. Muy rico!

They gave me Incorrect amount of tacos for the flight. I only received six instead of eight. The tacos which did arrive were of poor quality. I paid twenty dollars and fifty cents for a box of tortillas with little meat. The cilantro and onions which I specified to be on the tacos did not even fit two tacos. The wagyu had tiny pieces and I was missing tacos. They did not refund me my money back, when I ordered online. Food arrived cold even though it's 12 minutes from me...

Food was not good So disappointed, tacos were so nasty! I was hungry and there was no love no flavor. Just some sad food.

I gotta be honest, when a new taco joint was replacing the last one here, I didn't have that high of expectations. I would think to myself, how much better could this one really be? Well guess what. El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos have been a really great addition to the neighborhood. Time after time they've been extremely reliable for a quick meal, either ordered in store, or via DoorDash. The meat they serve up is fantastic, juicy, and high quality. I've tried most, and my favorite is the Carne Asada and Birria. The burrito box is the perfect value to split among 2 people - a XL size burrito, chips, salsa, guac, drink, and small churro dessert. There's been a couple times my order got messed up, but the service was quick to fix the mistake. So for that I know I can rely on them. Overall, El Barrio tacos are bomb af.

Cute taco spot with minimal indoor seating (7 chairs at the surrounding bar top area) and outdoor seating (a couple tables with chairs). The first thing I noticed, which is a big negative for me, is a restaurant with restrooms "out of order." They suggested the 7 Eleven's restrooms, so there's that. Anyway, the tacos were decent. I wish they had avocado or some more refreshing toppings (i.e. lettuce or avocado) because they were on the saucy/spicy/messy side. Took care of my taco craving, but I prefer Guisado's for the tacos & customer service.

Street style tacos (among other items) in a traditional brick and mortar located at a strip mall in Palms/ West LA. I was craving tacos and been wanting to go here for a while. At busy times, the parking lot could be a little tight so I parked on one of the side streets close by and walked over to avoid the stress. When you walk in there are clear menus to order from and ordering was very straightforward. I got a 6 street taco sampler that included pollo asado, al pastor, and birria. The take out box had a fun design and it was easy to grab and head out. Upon opening the box, you see that they give you the different salsas and guacamole that comes with the sampler along with some limes and some items to dress up your tacos with like onions/ cilantro/ etc. The tacos themselves are really good. Tasty meats (in this case the pollo, al pastor, and birria) and a nice saucy moisture on the birria especially. The tasty salsas were zesty with a nice kick as well. As a bonus, I had enough sauce leftover for my bfast burrito the next morn.

Love lobe this taco place My go to every week. High quality food. The meats so fresh and tender. They catered for a birthday party and were awesome.

I'm going to keep this simple for you. Simple. This is a good solid place to get Mexican street tacos. The staff is friendly and the ordering system is pretty straightforward. Probably my favorite item so far is a chorizo. I definitely appreciate that. They serve breast meat chicken, which is a very for a Mexican joint. I would say the signature taco isn't worth the extra cost, really nothing blew me away with it. Next time I'll try the burrito, but part of me was wishing to get a taco option with beans and queso. Also would have been nice to get a bag of tortilla chips with the order, especially if you're ordering over $10.

Great tacos! Came here for a promo and was in the area. The basic tacos are good but the premium ones are really where they shine. The Al pastor was realllly good. A tad oily, but man were they good. Horchata was delicious as well. Would definitely come back!

Food is pretty good. If you're like me you were wondering what is better the carne asada or the birria? Carne asada definitely better. Prices are pretty high but the quality is mostly high as well.

We came here for dinner as its walking distance from my apartment. I tried the 4 street taco flight for $10 which is a pretty good deal since the regular price for their tacos are much more expensive. I ordered the shrimp, birria, carne Asada and al pastor. The flavors were excellent! The tacos were on the small side but still filling, although if you are a large eater would probably recommend getting the larger flights. This is a good option to try their different flavors since the full sized tacos are closer to $5 each. It's definitely more expensive than your local taco stand or taco truck, but not bad overall. Free parking in the lot in front with additional parking on Palms behind the building. They have apx 3 outdoor tables that are dog friendly.

Good burrito, but wish there was more cheese inside! There was only cheese cooked onto the outside of the tortilla which made it taste pretty good. The shrimp was perfectly sized and cooked perfectly. If you like a lot of beans, rice, and sauce in your burrito this is the one for you. The chips were just how I preferred, super crispy and great sauce selection.

El Barrio is cheap, fast, and fresh. Nothing will blow you out of the water but it hits the spot every time. Try the street taco flight or the shrimp gobernador burrito. The selection of salsas is above par.

[Review #581] 2020 Yelp 100 Challenge (92/100) OTM Club 12/06/20-12/12/20 I was introduced to El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos from the OTM Club's curated SURF & TURF TACOS (Wagyu skirt steak & jumbo shrimp). It was a bit of a drive from the South Bay to L.A., just north of Culver City, but this was likely my last restaurant via OTM Menu Club for 2020. And I almost drove past the restaurant because my WiFi was acting up. I tried calling en route so my order could be ready by the time I arrive, but the cashier that picked up said OTM Club orders needed to be placed in person. :-( On the last Saturday for that week, it was quiet in the mid-afternoon with a couple of cars in their private lot. It was a bit confusing to know if the people standing outside had ordered already because they needed to stand nearby the narrow entrance to hear their name being called since they don't have a speaker system. Once inside, I couldn't tell which side is for ordering & which is for pick-up until the cashier waved me over. I showed her my phone & "redeemed" my freebie, & added a BARRIO BOX: 2 SIGNATURE TACOS (I got the AL PASTOR: pork shoulder, avocado crema, salsa fresca, grilled pineapple, micro cilantro), CHIPS & SALSA, GUAC, 1-BITE DESSERT (2 pieces of churro bites); it supposedly comes with a soda, but the cashier didn't give it to me & I forgot about it until I was 1/2 way home. =( The Surf & Turf Tacos were delish, especially with a little guac! :-) They had good flavor & the shrimp & steak were perfectly cooked, but on the smaller side so it was a good thing that I added the Barrio Box. I also liked the Al Pastor Tacos, & loved the avocado cream & salsa fresca condiments for additional flavor but the tacos were a bit greasy. I tried all 3 salsas with the slightly greasy chips & preferred the green salsa; there were 2 red ones, of 1 which is really hot & one only slightly milder. I saved the churro bites for the kiddos & they wondered why there isn't more (since they had churro sticks before). LOL I said this was part of my meal, & only included a couple of bites (literally). I'm not sure what kind of soft drink comes with the box since I wasn't provided with one, so I'm assuming it's either a standard fountain drink or soda can. Their menu is condensed & expensive for premium ingredients. No bang for your buck here, but mine was a curated freebie with a slightly discounted box as part of the offer. All things considering... service is fairly quick with a miss on part of my order. The restaurant is clean, staff are wearing masks, hand sanitizer was provided as their COVID-19 measure. No outdoor dining or even a quasi-pitched tent effort but you could eat in your car on their lot should you choose. El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos offers a concentrated menu of 8 proteins in the form of a signature taco, street taco, huarache, burrito, breakfast burrito (only on Saturdays), or bowl; with antojitos & sides. It's a bit of a drive from home, only improved slightly if I were working (in Playa del Rey). Although the menu is alluring, future return trips are TBD with such high price points. Egad! :-O And docking a star for service issue & forgetting my soda... no bueno. =( Recommended: Surf & Turf Tacos (this really is off-the-menu so I'm not sure if they'll make it upon request), Al Pastor Signature Tacos, Guacamole, Churro Bites.

I ordered the burrito box. You get chips, burrito with your choice of protein (shrimp, beef, pork, and birria), 4-5 dips/salsa, and churros balls. All comes in a beautiful box for about $20. The burrito was large and packed with flavor. I really enjoyed the black beans that came in it. The salsa and dips were fresh. You can definitely taste the quality. I will definitely come back and grab a shirt next time. Just something to point out but not an issue is, you order at the register yourself. They guys working in the kitchen are really nice and will say hi and help you of course.

I placed an order and they literally tried to charge me $2 more than the advertised price by saying the menu they were showing was old. No thanks.

The Pollo Asado street tacos are fire. I will always be a regular now!! Can't believe I haven't tried this place sooner :(

Their new El Barrio Boxes are the perfect meal with your choice of 2 tacos, or a huarache for $12, or 3 tacos, a burrito or a bowl for $15. It comes complete with FOUR containers of hot salsa, green salsa, mild salsa, and even guacamole as well as a side of chips and CHURRO DONUT HOLES. This is such a good deal and your perfect grab n' go lunch. If you prefer, you can also dine outside on their shaded tables. OK THE TACOS: Taco #1 I got was the GOBERNADOR, or shrimp taco that includes jack cheese, peppers, carmelized onion, cabbage, and culichi salsa. This was was recommended to me by Jesse, one of the owners and it HITTTT omfg the super juicy shrimp + melty cheese was totally unexpected and delicious. I'm going back for this ASAP Taco #2 I got the Birria which has stewed wagyu beef brisket (OMG), tomato salsa emulsion, and micro cilantro (don't worry, I'm okay) This one was WET with the juicy stew and super tender meat. After the cheesy heaven shrimp taco this was less exciting to me but I realize later I should have added griddled cheese for that birria experience. (You can add griddled cheese to any taco for only 50 cents!) This place really has it all. The staff was so friendly and helpful, food was on POINT, great prices, and I forgot to mention parking lot out front?? In LA there's really nothing more you could ask for. Go check then out and welcome them to the neighborhood!

At El Barrio, I definitely prefer the taco. It's a concise, more concentrated meat-purse, and I love the blue corn tortillas. But you do get a lot more food in a burrito for not that much more cost, and it's all amazing. The Al Pastor Pork Burrito is so sliced-off-the-spit tender, and the salsa has a perky spice to it. I love that all the burritos come with a toasted cheese crust. It does double duty in keeping the burrito closed and adding crispy crunch to a soft tortilla. Try the Carne Wagyu Steak Burrito too. The meat is so juicy! I like my burritos with a heaping helping of meat, but the Cauliflower Con Mole Burrito doesn't even need it. The roasted cauliflower is lighter but has a similar texture and the mole is pure magic. I guess the birria fell off the delivery menu, but it was the best thing ever while it was there. I'm waiting for it to come back, but in the meantime, there's not a single thing I'd regret.

Grilled, melted cheese on the outside of the burrito is all you really need to know. Bomb. Did not love the veggie choices, mole cauliflower and something else... I just asked for the beans, cheese, rice, lettuce, and pico that all burritos come with, then added guacamole.

Amazing once again!! I got my regular chicken taquitos and so so delicious! Very fresh and different from any other Mexican restaurant! I also got Chips, Guacamole and Salsa and a new item the Lemon/Pepper Party Wings! So marvelous I am thrilled with my choice. El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos has never disappointed anyone me and it is why I order again and again!

The packaging, the service, the marketing and the presentation are all quite good, but the tacos lack soul. They are pretty basic and have average flavor. These were not bad by any means but there are lots of better tacos in Los Angeles.

I've ordered this for DoorDash for my friend that needed something to eat at the moment and she likes it so I guess it's OK

El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos has been on my bookmarks, and we decided to check it out during the quarantine. The Family Meal Kit ($45 for 4-6 people was a great value! We ordered online, had some email communication from the store due to what was available, and our order was ready when we arrived for a contactless pick-up at a table up front. I look forward to coming back to eat in the modern dining room, which was light and bright, because the food was tasty but I am sure it is better hot off the press. The meal kit included "protein" that could be split between types. We went with the carnitas with tomatillo salsa and Cauliflower Con Mole. It was served with a quart each of Spanish rice and black beans, a small green salad with chopped iceberg, halved cherry tomatoes, crumbled cotija and pickled onions that I supplemented with some fresh spinach from my fridge because there was plenty of the creamy cilantro dressing, two dozen blue corn tortillas, green (medium) and red (HOT) salsas, a mixture of chopped onions and cilantro, and two little cups of flan. The carnitas were incredible - moist but not super fatty and with a very prevalent cinnamon flavor. Like me, EBNT likes the cinnamon, because it dominates the mole as well. The tomatillo salsa was a perfect compliment for the rich pork and warm spices - just the right amount of zing. The cauliflower was also awesome. The roasted florets were topped with a dark mole that was like a riff on a mole poblano, because I have never had a mole with quite that much cinnamon. the cauliflower also had crumbled cotija and lots of pickled red onions - absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the tortillas were very disappointing - they were tough and hard. Not sure whether it was dough being overworked or if they were old. No bueno. The rice and beans were totally standard, and a smidge underseasoned. But, they were well prepared and the green salsa (medium) saved the day. Put the pair in a bowl, put some green salsa on top, stir and enjoy. The salad was a nice addition. We have picked up several family taco packs from around Los Angeles County (we love tacos), and this was the first salad included from the restaurant! Sure, I added some greens, but it was because there was a ton of dressing and we like our veggies. The meal ended on a high note. The two little cups of flan were delicious. If you love flan, you should order extra, because you might not want to share. Other than the desserts being small, there is a ton of food here. We easily fed 6 people and have leftover tortillas (my kids don't mind inferior tortillas, so we will smear some butter on them) and some cauliflower (I may have been hoarding that a little, but we were all full ;)). I can't wait to come back to this little eatery when we can eat inside. I want to give those tortillas another chance, and I loved the fillings.

I moved from east LA to west LA last year and I've been searching for local taco shops ever since. El Barrio is promising! My husband and I tried their birria burrito, birria taco, mole cauliflower taco, and loaded fries. Birria burrito: This bad boy is heavy and packs a punch in flavor! I sometimes find rice and beans bland in burritos but that is not the case. Everything was super flavorful in the burrito and the meat was not dry. Birria taco: This was the only item that was not great. I found the meat really dry even dressed with salsa and lime. I'd stick to the burrito if I'm craving birria next time. Mole cauliflower taco: Wow! These were super tasty. I'm not vegetarian or vegan but I appreciate vegetables when they're cooked with the same amount of care and respect as meat. The cauliflower is kind of crispy (flash-fried?) and has a slightly sweet (perhaps coconut?) flavor. The taco is drizzled with yummy mole. I added their red salsa to these tacos and was blown away. My mouth is watering just thinking of these tacos! Loaded fries: I can't NOT get loaded fries if they're on the menu. My husband and I liked these fries. The flavor was great since the fries are dressed with pico de gallo, cotija cheese and avocado sauce. I do wish the fries were crispier but these were still tasty! I'd get them again! I think the salsas here are out of this world. They're very tangy, perhaps they are heavy handed with the lime juice but I'm here for it! I'll have to ask for extra salsa next time because my husband and I were fighting over them. I really enjoyed this place and I'm glad to have found a tasty taco place near my new home.

I do not understand any of the positive reviews of this place. I would never suggest anyone come here. Let's talk about some of the problems. - Price. Burritos cost between $7-9, right? Well, here they cost $14.25. You're paying 1.5x-2x for the same burrito you would get anywhere else. - Quality. Everything here is wildly oversalted. I mean, crazily oversalted. Bring a gallon of water. - Service. If you go to any other burrito place and ask them to mix toppings or fillings, they would do that, right? Not here. No special orders are tolerated. Do you want to half-and-half your protein? Tough, take a hike. I cannot think of one reason to recommend this place. Hard avoid, especially in Los Angeles, where there are so many other options for a burrito.

Yahoo a new delicious taco place! And in the South Bay where we need !authentic! tacos! Felicidades a todos. Came very late on a Saturday afternoon - be aware they CLOSE from 3-5 - and enjoyed 5 very different tacos and a tasty side dish of cauliflower. Tacos ranged in the 3.50-5 dollar-range. Was delighted to be offered the side dish for free as they ran out of corn tortillas and had to substitute flour. Nice, clean, small space. Not fancy but not grunge. Only a few parking spots out front. Spacious restrooms, marked unisex but one w a urinal and other w a baby changing table. TL/dr: Best taco joint in the South Bay hands down.

El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos moved from Redondo Beach into the former Kogi spot in Palms. While El Barrio is more classically Mexican than the previous tenant, it's also more upscale, using non-GMO, hormone and antibiotic-free meats  and tacos, on either Oaxcan corn or Sonoran flour tortillas, starting at $4.50 each. Their $12 Barrio Box gives you two tacos, chips, salsa, guac and a couple of churro bites ($15 for three tacos).  The tacos are pretty small, so I would recommend ordering at least three tacos. I chose the Birria and the Gobernador (shrimp). The Barrio, using Wagyu beef brisket, was slightly fatty, tender, with onions, micro cilantro and a tomato salsa. I devoured it in about 3-4 bites, juices dripping all over my hand. Even better was the Gobernador, shrimp cooked with peppers and caramelized onions, cheese and salsa. It was a little spicy and super delectable. Since my tacos instantly disappeared, I moved onto eating the chips, salsa and guacamole. Their salsas, particularly the macha and the verde, were really good and had a tangy. I considered tearing off bits of the box and dip it into the salsas to eat, partially because I was still hungry and partially because I wanted to use all the salsa.  A more filling option is their burrito, which weighs more than a pound, stuffed with your choice of filling, rice, beans, cheese, lettuce, avocado cream, sour cream and pico de Gallo. Perhaps it was an off day, but I was disappointed by the cauliflower con mole, which had great Yelp reviews, but found far too subtle in mole flavor.   Included in the Barrio Box were a couple of churro bites, which were a fun way to finish off the box (they also have their Chu-Nut, churro donut as a full-size dessert).  I'm somewhere between 4 and 5 stars, since I was underwhelmed by the cauliflower con mole. Because I have a large appetite, the prices are a little higher than I'd like them to be, but the food quality is high, so I shouldn't complain. They are open for takeout and delivery, with tables outside for onsite dining. Convenient parking in the lot in front, with a smaller lot in back.

My husband and I came across this place when we were looking for tacos. I checked out the reviews at first and was excited. Food- 2.5 out of 5 I was really disappointed by this place. My husband and I both ordered the 3 Taco Barrio box. I ordered 3 birria tacos and hubby ordered 2 carne asada and chicken tacos. The tortillas were really good. The meat was good as well. What brought the rating down was the presentation. The three tacos were placed in a box with no wrapping. Onions, cilantro, and lemons were just thrown in the box. The tacos were leaking as well. The box was soggy by the time I got to it. The tortillas were shredding and it was messy trying to eat the food. We also got a bottled jamaica and churro donut. The churro donut was stale. It came with a small thing of caramel and that didnt have a top on it so it spilled all over the bag. The bottled jamaica smelled so bad when I opened it. It tasted even worse. Service- 2 out of 5 When we arrrived and planned to order, we were ignored. We were not greeted nor did anyone explain the menu. We waited around for someone to pay attention to us and then we ordered. Overall: I was a bit disappointed. I am sympathetic to staff shortages but to be ignored was a bit upsetting. The food was overpriced for what you got. My hubby and I ended up picking up more food after because our food was a disappointment. I dont know if I would return. Maybe if packaging and service gets better, then I would consider going back. Read the reviews and look at the menu before checking this place out.

Just an unassuming taco joint in a strip mall on a very busy corner. Their Loaded Barrio Fries with Chicken are mouthwatering! A hefty portion meant for two (maybe even three) to share. Perfect ratios between the shoestring fries, pico de gallo, avocado, crème, Monterey Jack and cotija cheeses. Well priced and super friendly staff. Served in a box to let you choose dine-in or take away. I was bummed cash was not an option, but for these fries I was willing to pull out the plastic. Go! Eat! Yum!

The shrimp and steak taco were each like a 3.3/5, but the burrito is very underwhelming and definitely a 2/5 . Taste almost no meat , not very big , kind of soggy and terrible proportions. Save your money , better Mexican than this on every block in LA.

I am so excited that I finally got to try El Barrio Neighborhood Tacos! I had been hearing many great things about this place and when I saw on instagram they were having a special grand opening; I knew it was the perfect time to check it out! For the grand opening they had 50% off their tacos, mulitas and tortas. Regular price for tacos are $3.50 to $4.50, for mulitas they are $2 to $5.50 and for tortas for $11. They have 8 different types of meats to choose from and you can get in your tacos, mulitas or tortas. They also have antojitos or appetizers such as loaded barrio fries and El coctle shrimp cocktail sauce. There is also postre or dessert via flan and chu-nut (churros and donut lovechild). I was set to get all tacos but then I read about the mulitas and decided to try that as well! Mulitas are 2 housemaid corn tortillas, melted cheese, escabeche and salsa. It was my first time ever trying a Mulita and I enjoyed it very much. I got the Al Pastor and the spit roasted Beelers pork was very flavorful. I also liked how they added grilled pineapple/ For my tacos; I chose to get Birria, Pork Belly Carnitas and Chicken Tinga. I chose the Birria because they use US Wagyu beef. This was tasty however it was a tad greasy. There were also little bits of fat and I wished the meat was more lean. The Pork Belly Carnitas was a surprise because they put one giant slab of crispy pork belly. I liked how it had tomatillo salsa to compliment the meat. I also liked that they had crispy pork belly versus shredded carnitas. It made it unique. The Chicken Tinga was great and l loved the Mary's shredded chicken. Best of all these tacos all came in housemaid corn tortillas. You can even see them make the corn tortillas right up front. The tacos and mulitas I tried were definitely tasty and I can see why a lot of folks have been raving about it. It is located in the same small plaza as Pursue Coffee. The small plaza and difficult parking is the one drawback to this place. Parking is horrible! I luckily found parking on the street and walked over. Overall love this little taqueria. Tacos are great. The folks working here are friendly.
