Ergobaby Metro Plus Review: This Versatile Stroller Was Perfect for Mexico City

"From weaving through a churro line at the always-packed Churrería El Moro to shopping for artisanal wares inside the densely-populated El Bazaar Sábado to strolling through parks like Parque Mexico and Chapultepec."

"Once a separate municipality, San Ángel—in the city’s south, nestled into its western foothills—is a leafy, genteel enclave whose relative isolation adds a soigné feel (for better or worse) you won’t find in neighboring Coyoacán. Ground zero for promenading is quaint Plaza San Jacinto, whose cute parish church (and beautiful cloister garden) is a sort of spiritual last stand amid the surrounding area’s high-toned consumerism. That said, the plaza’s true spirit comes alive Saturdays, at the so-called Bazar Sábado, an artisanal market that fills the area with stall after stall of handmade jewelry, textiles, crafts, and accessories, plus a great deal of art—some finer, some less so—in styles that go from hippie to haute. Strolling musicians and performers add to the carnival atmosphere."

"On Saturdays, as the name implies, one of the most delightful things you can do is head over to the sleepy, cobble-stoned streets of San Angel to shop in this grand old colonial plaza. It's jam-packed with artists and artisans who sell their wares here week after week, including paper flowers, embroidered blouses, tin toys, carved Pepita glass, etc. Some of it is on the folksy side, but there's always at least one discovery to walk away with. Plus, there's a restaurant inside serving solid quesadillas (though there's also a street stand right outside that out-does these), and right across the street is the weekly artist's street market, where there are some good finds to be made."

Overall rating: 4.9 Visiting from: NYC While they are only on Saturdays, YOU HAVE TO VISIT. 1000% worth it. I spent half day here, but it’s definitely more of a full day or somewhere in between. There’s this beautiful restaurant with a gigantic tree I wish I was able to go, but I didn’t have time. Also if you think you’re going to find a better deal elsewhere, you won’t. Buy your jewelry here! I held out a few times for souvenirs elsewhere since this was one of my first few days and regret not getting more. There were these great man shirts for like $25-$35 USD and the value for the quality was unmatched! Highly, highly recommend!!

This is the greatest place to purchase gifts and art. It’s a great combination of local artisans for baskets, weavings, leather & jewelry paired with gallery art made by local artists. The artwork ranges from small watercolors and prints to massive oil paintings. A lovely chance to pick up souvenirs by supporting artists and artisans directly

This bazaar, nestled in one of the area's historic buildings, is a true hidden gem. The blend of history and local culture creates a unique shopping experience. The bazaar features a couple of charming local boutique stores offering a wide variety of locally made goods, including handcrafted items, food products, textiles, perfumes, skincare products, and jewelry. At the heart of the bazaar is a cozy restaurant, perfect for taking a break and enjoying a meal amidst the vibrant surroundings. Overall, this bazaar is well worth a visit.

Google
I stayed in the neighborhood on my visit, and this market was definitely a highlight of the area. The variety on offer runs from bog standard souvenirs to more unusual and higher-end clothing, jewelry, and art. There's a restaurant and bar inside. Don't forget to go upstairs, too. During Day of the Dead the entire area has A Lot More going on.

Gosh. Overwhelming and incredible. This is more than just a building of fun stuff - the surrounding plazas and other shops are also amazing. Just star at the beginning of the area and move your way around. Expect lots of art, artisans, people and fun. Highly recommend!

The bazaar is HUGE, covering several blocks and many nearby buildings. There's art for every taste and it's a great place to purchase directly from artists.

Yelp
This Saturday only bazaar is huge. I am sure as much as I think I managed to see there was still a lot more I could explore. This isn't your usual costal cruse stop kind of market where everything seems to repeat after only seeing a few vendors. Was there some repetitions? Yes, but you actually had to look for that! Nearly everything was unique. There was also a huge variety of pricing too. From very cheap items to some pretty amazing higher end crafts. Inside, outside, all through the small park that is there and off some of the side streets. If you are looking to buy anything to remember Mexico, come here and you will find it. Even if you don't buy anything, come here for the memory of the bazaar to take home with you.

Yelp
This is a wonderful market in an upscale neighborhood. There are many restaurants for lunch and I go there whenever I am in Mexico City.

Yelp
Bazar del Sabado is a wonderful way to spend time on Saturday in the CDMX, shopping for everything from artisan folk wares to modern pottery and art in the bustling, shady, cobblestoned streets of San Angel. Shopping takes place throughout several blocks around the colonial Plaza San Janinto. The plaza is lined with permanent art galleries, antiques vendors, textile vendors selling folklore-inspired embroidery, and street sellers of pottery and hand painted canvases of varying quality. The Saturday Market culminates at a red, colonial mansion that houses numerous mini-boutiques, galleries, vendor stalls, and an open-air courtyard restaurant. You can eat inside the colonial mansion, but better yet, after coming here I recommend walking about a block away to the lovely Mercado del Carmen, which is one of the newest, and largest gourmet food halls in the South part of the city. What a wonderful way to spend a Sabado!

Yelp
This is a very pretty, festive, upscale place on Saturdays. A lot of the art is too big for for luggage. Not a place to find bargains, if you're that type of SMART shopper. Go to Oaxaca, or Guatemala to score! Restaurants are very expensive. Long walk for metro users

Yelp
My wife and I just had a wonderful morning walking all throughout the market for this Saturday only bazaar. You can find a mixture of very high quality items made from a variety of artisans. There are also the "cheap" souvenirs so give yourself a few hours to walk through a few times. The center courtyard is a wonderful place to sit down for a cocktail and enjoy some very authentic Mexican cuisine. I would recommend this as a must do for anyone visiting Mexico City. 20 minute Uber ride from our hotel in the Polanco area.

Yelp
Great place to spend a Saturday and find great souvenirs. Anything from inexpensive trinkets to nice jewelry and home decor!!! Gets very crowded and narrow space to walk at times...

Yelp
This bazaar is phenomenal. I don't think I've ever seen an artist's market this large. Paris..maybe? There's an amazing artist market in Albuquerque house in an old train yard as I recall. In any case, this one is incredible. Painters, sculptors, jewelers, potters, chocolates, coffee, honey, mescal...I could go on and on. We were there for 6 hours and didn't get to see everything! Restaurants and coffee shops abound so you won't go hungry and the big church in the middle has public bathrooms for 5 pesos. Enjoy and spend wisely!

Yelp
An outside market with vendors selling handmade, local trinkets at a very good price. There was also an "inside" area where more vendors were located, as well as two restaurants with full equipped bars. We are at the buffet for 700 pesos, that included one beer and as many rounds of food we could manage! They had live music and great scenery. Only downside for this market was the parking but once we finally found a park, we had a blast!

Yelp
This place was so cute! I wish I had come hungry as the food looked great. Nice variety of items and the surrounding area also has many cute stores to check out as well.
