The 18 Best Restaurants In Berlin 2024

"If you love noisy, drawn-out dinners that turn into boozy parties and potentially go on long past midnight, come to El Borriquito. Bring a big group and book a late table (no earlier than 9pm), preferably on the weekend, so you can see some live music. Share tapas like pimientos de padrón and fried calamari before moving on to more substantial plates of grilled fish and meat. By the time you’re on your second bottle of Rioja, the band will likely be belting out the Gipsy Kings’ rendition of “Volare.” " - cindy brzostowski, olivia ladanyi

The food is absolutely delicious, but it’s often very crowded, so booking a table in advance is definitely recommended.

We were celebrating our parents’ anniversary and this place made it special. The service was personal, the wine was excellent, and the food exceeded our expectations. My father said the ribeye steak was one of the best he’s ever had, and my mother loved her grilled trout. It’s not just a restaurant — it’s an experience. They made us feel like royalty.

I love this place🤩 my favorite go-to authentic spanish food location, very good Paella 👌 and the portion is to share for 2 people, very good live music 💃 you are transported to Spain during your time there. It gets relatively busy at night, but it is quieter around 7 8. One of my favorite restaurants in Berlin!

Google
Highly recommend the clams with octopus, the sauce tastes very Taiwanese style! Fish Soup is also flavorful. Seafood paella was just ok, not memorable. Service could be better.

Google
This place is absolutely recommended. Very friendly personal. Quick service (we have been waiting less than 20 minutes for our order. The place was absolutely full). Not expensive. Live music show. And everything was so tasty. On my favorites list now.

Google
Amazing Seafood at an absolute fair price. Its always crowded, sometimes even musicians in the restaurants. One of the very good Sea Food Places in Berlin!

Google
Perfect and not wait too long. Recommend is the fried food platter~ Spanish seafood paella is juicy als the other, some would be cooked very dry.

Google
It was busy when we were there but the service was quick. The food was nice and portion is bigger than we expected. Will definitely come back!

Yelp
I was passing by as it's located next to my hotel. I can't express how much I'm in love with this place. I felt I was in Spain. The pulpo was amazing and the fish croquettes were Devine. The atmosphere is beautiful and the waiters are so funny they kept cracking us up laughing the whole night. So far this is the best experience I had in Berlin. The waiting was too long though but they let us wait at the bar and gave us free drink and tapas. I highly recommend this place for a great Spanish experience.

Yelp
The staff here are the rudest I've ever seen. I tried to make reservations for three days. I was told to wait outside in the snow for two hours the first day I walked in at 7pm for my birthday dinner. The second day they hung up on me twice when I asked to make a reservation any time. The third day I had the hotel staff call for me at 4pm they said to call back at 6, I did. The staff said we are booked all night. I said you just opened what if I come right now. They said fine you can come but you'll wait. Im sure the good and decor is great but when you treat customers like this you lose business. Even the best restaurants can tell someone they have a long wait nicely. After reviewing the reviews it's clear this is a management issue. Get over yourselves.

Yelp
One of the best Spanish restaurants I had in Berlin. The place was packed when we got here around 19:45. Amazing food. Cozy and friendly staff.

Yelp
Genuine Spanish restaurant (I'm spanish). We had octopus, sardines, croquetas and ham and everything was good. Traditional and charming 80s decoration and friendly staff.

Yelp
We went here last night. The place is cozy, a lot of tables in a little space. We were given some sherry right at the start, which is nice. Ordered a potato appetizer that came with two sauces, and they were good. We had paella for dinner. It was good, not amazing, but the best we have had so far in Berlin. I got one drink and it was fairly week, so for the price I would get a beer next time. All in all it was decent, I give it four stars, but would have liked to give it 3 1/2. Next time we want paella we will probably try somewhere new, but this will be a nice fallback option for sure.

Yelp
Where do I start? An Institution maybe? Ja, seems about right! On of the places to go to when in Berlin. Believe me, I'm from there! Food: Great. Fresh fish, meat and incredible wine. The restaurant in itself is rather small, but cosy. Can be hard to get a table, however you end up getting one somehow. Slight downer is the often stressed personal due to it being so packed. However, they're still very polite spaniards. Always enjoy it there. My advice: Boquerones

Yelp
Very bad experience and disappointed with this restaurant ! I and my friend walked half hour went to here for dinner , we are ordered one dish but the waiter brings us 2 dishes , other one we was asked him , but not really ordered, He didn't do last check what exactly we ordered, then mistakes, bad is he didn't think is his fault , so I paid for his fault... I hope the owner can see this , you should make sure your waitress all is professional for their jobs, I had my own restaurant, the most important /simple thing is always do last checked for the Ordering . Also the food is very salty !! .... then we wasted too much food ! Also money !

Yelp
The food was amazing: authentic, tasty, big portions, not pricy at all. On the other hand the service was VERY rude to us. And not only once. I personally had a very mixed feeling leaving this place.

Yelp

Yelp
I dined in El Borriquito last Saturday with a group of international friends and I don't feel like recommending this restaurant for the following reasons: 1. low quality of the food: we had several dishes with fish and meat (like mixed starter, paella with seafood and grilled meat) and the first was clearly frozen, while the second was covered of garlic so the flavour was completely misleading 2. low level of service: the first bottle of water arrived only after 30 min we were sitting at our table and we had to ask for it too many times, like for all the rest (cutlery, napkins etc.) 3. wrong billing: we were charged 25euros more than what was due, fortunately we checked the bill and ask to correct it 4. last but not least: while leaving, we accidentaly broke a glas and we have been rudely offended by one of the waiters

Yelp
It's just one of the best Spanish restaurants I've ever been to. I've been several times in Spain; however, mostly in touristic areas and food I tasted wasn't quite authentic probably. I received advise to try this restaurant from one of my Spanish friends, and this evening changed my mind about Spanish food. If you are in Berlin and love good authentic Spanish food, this is the place to go to.
