"The Southern Nevada Health District shut down El Burrito Mexican Restaurant at 8508 Del Webb Blvd. on May 2 after a customer complained that she found a cockroach in her refried beans. Inspectors found dead, multi-generational roaches in the kitchen food prep areas, inside the cook line, and on top of a food container. Live roaches crawled on the walls, on a cutting board, and in a wall panel next to the prep area, according to KTNV. Aside from being shut down for an imminent health hazard, inspectors found expired food, fried chiles held at unsafe temperatures, ground beef stored in a bucket, and uncovered food that could be contaminated in the 26-demerit inspection. The restaurant reopened on May 6 with a zero-demerit A grade." - Susan Stapleton

"The health department shut down El Burrito at 8508 Del Webb Blvd. after a routine inspection revealed a multi-generational cockroach infestation on May 21. The restaurant owner tells KTNV that the health inspector “exaggerated” the number of cockroaches, but the TV station reports photos from the inspection showed many. The health department issued additional demerits for dirty dishes and utensils that were stored as clean, an open container of pork on the floor, mold in the ice machine, and food debris. The restaurant re-opened on May 23 with a zero-demerit A grade." - Susan Stapleton

The food starts out ok and progressively turns into inedible bland mush. They cornered the market for the elderly as this food was both soft and flavorless. I was trying my luck by going to a new restaurant that has been around 20+ years, but i could've gone another 20 years without stepping foot in here, and it would've been all the same. We came to eat on a Friday night, and no more than 4 tables were being occupied the whole time. I ordered the shrimp fajitas and got 6 butterflied shrimp over some butane covered vegetables for $26. What a bargain

We love coming here. We usually don’t have to wait to get a table. Staff is friendly. The margaritas are great and the food too.

We happened to pass by this spot after doing grocery shopping on Rampart. Staff is friendly. Service was quick. Food is really good. Everyone has different tastes and for us this was really good. So please, if it isn’t to your liking doesn’t mean everything else is a fail. Love that they’re 24/7. Made a stop before midnight again before heading to the airport to pick up my husband since he loves their burritos. Even ordered ahead to freeze and take back to Hawaii for his coworkers.

Restaurant was dead when we were there. Service was good. Food was really good. Price was acceptable.

Google
Best Mexican dishes, best Mexican restaurant! As if my mom was in the kitchen. The Chili Rellenos and the super stuffed Chimichangas are a few of my favorites! Service is ALWAYS exceptional. Great margaritas. Every dish is delectable! 🤤🤤🤤

Google
This was hands down the BEST Mexican restaurant EVER!!! The service is spectacular and the fried ice cream was to die for!!! Absolutely exquisite!!! 10/10.. no 11/10 Cassidy was the best server, definitely knew how to make us laugh!

Yelp
Family owned and operated - have eaten here many many times since purchasing a home in Summerlin in 1997. Always a good choice! Small - perhaps about 20 booths and tables VERY CLEAN Friendly and efficient service. Full bar. Extensive menu - and you can order 'off-menu' if you want something in particular. Reasonable pricing - generous portions and delicious All thumbs up!

Phillip H.

Yelp
Great food here, always! One of the best chili rellenos I have had, as are the green chile burritos. Attentive service. We have been coming here for about 15 years.

Yelp
I was out with a client on Sunday and we were right around the corner and it was dinner time. Unfortunately we couldn't sit down and eat, which I prefer but we were in between appointments so we had to order to go. We were greeted by the kindest hostess! She greeted us with open arms and we shared it was our first time in. She gave us menus and a few recommendations. We both settled on chicken chimichangas. We were offered a seat and water while we waited. The restaurant had the football game going and it was a little busy. Great energy and nice patrons. They were chatting about the game. Our food came out quickly and we took off and went to our next appointment then we headed home. We got chips and salsa with the burrito and boy, those chips were so delicious! I loved that they were big sized chips too that scoop up all the salsa! All 3 salsas were yummy and you can they are HOMEMADE! My chimichanga was smothered in cheese, guacamole and sour cream. The shredded chicken was nice!!! Loved the onions and too. The margaritas sound delicious so I can't wait to go back and try those!

Sandy T.

Yelp
Food was great as well as service. Portions were huge! I had machaca burrito enchilada style and the dinner had 2 burritos on the plate. I took one home for breakfast tomorrow. Husband had the chicken enchilada and a chile rellano. Meals come with soup or salad and rice and beans. We'll be back definitely

Mary P.

Yelp
My husband brought me here tonight and it was DELICIOUS. The service was fantastic. The noodle soup might be my new favorite thing in town. We both had enchiladas and shared the bean dip appetizer. We will definitely be back!

Debbie H.

Yelp
We went tonight for dinner and it was unbelievable. It has been so many years since we had been there. The Carne asada plate was delicious. The servers were great. We will definitely be back.

Jaymax97 ..

Yelp
Been coming here for years. A cute little Mexican food place. Always have good food, service is generally on the better side of good. I've tried so many things on the menu and have enjoyed them all, my favorite is the fajitas.

Elie M.

Yelp
Very good food. I had a burrito that was outstanding. Good service and fair prices. What else can you ask for?

Dwayne L.

Yelp
The Soup is . Get the chicharron Burrito also, it's a staple. Open more locations around the city.

Becca D.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in many years, and I was expecting to be disappointed based on the current rating. But my food was delicious! The prices are a bit steep - and it's silly to pay for chips and salsa (after the first bowl)- but I got a cheese enchilada and a carne asada taco, and they were really good. I'll be back.

Tami G.

Yelp
We have been to El Burrito a few times now. I wanted to wait in a review to be sure it was consistent. We have really enjoyed all the selections and our food has always been delicious. Service is spot on quick and caring about your experience. (Also a quiet TV if you go on football days!). See you again soon!

Jill W.

Yelp
Glowing reviews because service and friendliness of staff was excellent and the food was the icing on the cake. This is a place where everyone makes you feel like family. Two of the gents that came in while I was there had been going there for more than 20 years. That's gotta tell you something. I had the lunch special, chile rellano with the side salad. Chips were fresh and hot. Everything super yummy. I will be back! Thanks for a great experience Cassidy!

Elleyne M.

Yelp
Are you craving some delectable authentic Mexican cuisine? Look no further than El Burrito! This was my first time visiting for dinner with my family and everything was so delicious! I ordered from the "Especiales" sign located upon walk-in and selected some savory shrimp enchiladas. The reason for taking off a star was that when I ordered this, I assumed it would come with rice and beans. When my plate showed up with just the enchiladas and garnishes, I was a little disappointed. While the enchiladas were so delicious, I was not expecting a restaurant special to come A la carte. Just a recommendation to communicate this to guests here. We did not get to try carne asada because they were out. Everything we ordered was great, and we hope they are not out of this the next time we visit. I also loved how they offer a kid's menu with regular kid favorites like chicken fingers to satisfy the littles' palates :) From the chimichangas, burrito, enchiladas, chicken fingers, chips and salsa everything was great. We would definitely visit again!

John W.

Yelp
Fantastic food, service and ambiance. Went last night for a large group dinner birthday party. I had a shredded beef chimichanga, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Skinny margaritas were shared. Good long time business, that my family who lives here has frequented for many years.

Guy A.

Yelp
The menu has a variety of choices of food to select. The help provided excellent service. The restaurant was very clean and inviting.

Jason C.

Yelp
Service gets the two stars. We ordered the #1 combo. Chips looked home made except once you got through the top layer, the chips had a bitter oily taste. Salsa was really good. The soup was amazing. I loved that. My wife got the salad, which was interesting. It was a small saucer plate that somebody threw a small clump of shredded lettuce with a couple tomatoes like you would get on your dinner plate. It had the smallest amount of dressing, I mean almost like it accidentally dripped a little from a spoon on it. So you were just eating shredded lettuce. The entree came out in a nice presentation. We had switched the enchilada to flour tortilla - which was a mistake. The tortillas they use are soggy. The burrito was totally mushy as was the enchilada. The relleno was great. Nice crisp and flavor. The enchiladas don't have any flavor. They are just soggy and there. The burritos were supposed to be green chile, but it was just a mess of goooy refried beans with no real flavor either. No spice. No taste. Just soggy. Rice was really good. The inside was clean, however, there was a really strong sewer smell as you walk in and you could smell it in the restaurant. The floor drains need to have e some water poured down them to fill the p-trap that stops gasses from coming back up. It's so dry here they dry out and you have that smell. It's a daily easy fix. People were great. Has potential if they fix some things. Wanted it to be great, but it wasn't.

Randal S.

Yelp
Service has gone downhill since the locations on Fremont St and Decatur they are never open on time and always seem to be closed it is painfully obvious the Owner doesn't care about his customers anymore.

Ryan V.

Yelp
The owner is a bit sketchy. I ordered a premium double shot of tequila and they brought me a well tequila that was the size of less than a single. They don't put their drink prices on the menu and everything is an upcharge. I think that the owner was high on drugs or something because he was totally out of it like a zombie. Food was solid but I think they play around with drinks.

Scott J.

Yelp
Great service and food portion's! You can add this as a regular stop, everything is fresh.

Julie K.

Yelp
best chunky carnitas burritos with green sauce. love the abondigas soup as well. chille relleno is good also

Kriss P.

Yelp
Definitely one of the closest sit down Mexican restaurants in my proximity yet I have only been once. It might be the older community it which it sits in but it also doesn't scream @ me every time I drive past it. It's hidden but not?! Whatever it is, I finally ordered take out during my depressive eating moments. The plate of choice? A chili relleno burrito with pretty much everything in it & a small side of guac. It was huge and the guac was not of the fresh chunky variety I was hoping for. Seemingly pre-made offsite. Although, everything as a whole was decent when it hit my personal palate, I'm sure all the gringos in the surrounding neighborhood love it ;) So VERY close yet not my first choice. However, I'm definitely going to take the fam with me soon just so they can check it out themselves. Seems like it would be better experienced while dining in.

Amanda B.

Yelp
Usually a good low key place to dine and have been coming off and on for years but they don't remember me. That's ok I'm just kind of surprised! The food quality has gone down noticeably this year, unfortunately. Still a tasty Cadillac margarita. But for meals I can't recommend anymore.

Marq A.

Yelp
so..the bride & i went in for lunch last week and for us... the food and service was excellent...but the walk thru the early days of Vegas was the best course!!! much thanks to Cassidy and "the Kid"! cheers.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
My mom and I's go to lunch spot. Service is always fast and friendly. ALL of the people who work here are nice. The food always comes out fast, hot and correct. Not to mention everything is home made. I'm a sucker for chicken enchiladas but the homemade rice, beans, and soup are what really makes this place great.

Amber Z.

Yelp
I stopped in on a whim, not sure what to expect. A pleasant surprise is hidden away from the street. I was greeted and seated right away. There wasn't much customer traffic in the restaurant. A few regulars came in, and you could feel the friendships that have been made. Chips and salsa were served with a mango Margarita, which had fresh mango in it. I ordered Carne Asada, and it came with a choice of soup or salad. The meal had refried beans, spanish rice, and a guacamole salad. All the flavors mixed together to make for a relaxing afternoon out and about.

Mary K.

Yelp
Service was wonderful and very friendly. Attentive to us and never has to ask for refill. Food was very tasty and hot, nice presentation. Glad we found this place!

Randy L.

Yelp
Rated "best chili rellenos in Las Vegas" by one reviewer, so I drove quite a distance to try them. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I ordered two but found them bland and texture-less. Lots of reviewers love this place, so maybe it's just not my cup of tea, or it was an off day.

Rhonda S.

Yelp
Food and service were great. Prices were appropriate and we received prompt service. The menus (both of them) were a bit sticky and had obvious food residue on them. Some spots in the dining room needed a bit more cleaning. Chips and salsa were above average and all the portions were good sized. Food was served in a timely fashion and the margaritas were great. We will return.

Charlie W.

Yelp
A lot of people can be overly critical when dining out, but I found El Burrito to be a nice family owned restaurant where the staff was personable, the food was great, and the atmosphere to be local and not commercial. Sure, there are lots of great Mexican Restaurants to choose from that are higher quality and more expensive, but for a locally owned restaurant that's family run since (1993 I was told), it was perfect. I had the Chimichanga shredded beef burrito and the wife had the Great Mexican Salad bowl. The meat was tasty and plentiful and they didn't chince trust me, on both meals. We were told to try it by a friend, and being only 2 miles away, I wasn't disappointed. The owners brother who served us wearing the A's hat was himself and made us feel like we've been there many times. Well done!! We'll be back. FIRST TIMERS and soon to be second timers..........

Alyse I.

Yelp
We love this place! We order food to go from this restaurant atleast once a week. Never had one bad thing from here. There special taco is yum! For the healthy side I do the fajita salad or fajitas. All the burritos are excellent. I simple bean tostada simple but big and good. Highly recommend this place guarantee your tummy will be smiling!

Jason A.

Yelp
This place consistently served delicious food, everything here has been delicious, do you ever get a cheese enchilada and the cheese inside is not melty enough? Not here, enchiladas were piping hot and perfect consistency, not mushy, beef tacos were crunchy and moist, same thing with the taquitos, really cooked perfectly, (we had the beef) and the waitstaff here seems really genuine and friendly, excellent food, great service, nice place, and worth the price. Tbh, the chips and salsa here are especially good too.

Gerri B.

Yelp
Delicious food, awesome margaritas, and friendly staff! What more could you need! We are new to the Vegas area and this is our go-to spot for Mexican.

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Always hits the spot! Food is beyond delicious and staff is always super friendly. We tried the watermelon margaritas this time and they were superb! Can't wait to come back again.

Yoshi O.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and great drinks! We love the mixed fajitas and michelada. They also serve really good margaritas with a lot of different flavors

Mary M.

Yelp
El Burrito is selling a gallon of their amazing noodle soup for $44. My husband went and picked it up for us and they brought it out to our car because of the COVID-19. Y'all, you have to try this soup! It's soo good! Well all of their food is fantastic but their soup is my favorite and we got an entire gallon! Heaven on earth! If you're sick of sitting at home, call El Burrito and order some food! You won't regret it!

Ron M.

Yelp
Sunday and the restaurant opened at 12:00..got there at 12:05...2 couples and a party of 5 before us...ordered carne asada burrito and chicken fajita salad...45 minutes later, everybody else served and eating, but not us...also served, 2 couples who came after we did...nobody came to our table to tell us what was going on...got up and asked our waiter where our food was...after checking, he said it takes longer to cook the carne asada...45 minutes?... said it would be 3 minutes...burrito had maybe 10 small bits of steak, chicken fajita was three strips of dark meat, shell half full of iceberg lettuce and smothered in sour cream...this is $20 for the burrito and $15 for the salad, which was billed at $25 for a chicken fajita plate, not a salad...add $4 for a coke, no apology except the greeter saying sheepishly "Are you done with us ?"....never again

Kathleen M.

Yelp
The service and food was excellent as usual. I tried a chicharron burrito for the first time I was impressed I will order again.

Shalisha P.

Yelp
So far my kids and I have been here three times and it's become a favorite for sure. I like the relaxed atmosphere and how personable the employees are with patrons. I'm from a small town so that was instantly something that made me want to return. As for the food? It's all so delicious! I haven't had anything I didn't like and even my picky eater enjoys the menu. It's not your basic Mexican food restaurant. You can tell there's a great deal of attention to detail and little touches that make the entire experience a great one. The noodle soup is a must for sure! Even the salad is great! Since my first visit, I decided to become a vegetarian and I've still been able to find numerous options that keep me coming back. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area or even if you're not! I actually drive about 15 minutes to get there. And it's so worth it!

Antonio D.

Yelp
Great portions, rocks Cadillac Margarita w/ tajin rim is a must! Will be coming back next time I'm in town.

Chrystal R.

Yelp
Still 5 stars ! We've been visiting El Burrito for at least 16 years maybe longer. The staff is always so friendly and wonderful. We absolutely prefer to support our small family owned businesses , my kids take their lunches to school and always ask me to make them "the El Burrito salad" It is definitely our go to restaurant for a comfortable date night and usually the first place the kids pick. Yes, I eat way too many of the chips and salsa they are addicting and always look forward to the other half of my cheese enchiladas for lunch the next day. The fajita effect is a real thing when you visit there.

Shelly M.

Yelp
We did take out for the first time here and were very happy with our choice. It was prepared & packaged well and all tasted delicious. We will be back.

Debra T.

Yelp
I LOVE El Burrito. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Las Vegas. I have been eating at El Burrito since 1972, when they were on Fremont Street. Of course. I have a favorite. The #3 Combination with 2 Green Chili Burritos, with Green Sauce and Enchilada style. The Noodle Soup is my favorite soup in the whole world. For over 50 years, El Burrito is my Go-To restaurant for a delicious meal that NEVER disappoints!!! The staff is also very nice and friendly.

Food B.

Yelp
Can't believe this place was on dirty dining for a roach infestation and the owner didn't even care to apologize to the customers affected. Went here last month to get Chile relleno and I had asked for extra cheese and sauce and was charged for it when I opened the To go box at home I saw it did not have extra cheese and sauce I called and they said to come back and they would give me save and cheese like really I'm not driving back didn't offer a free meal or something possibly an apology.. was looking for a corporate number and google shows me the video of the roach infestation they had. So sick to my stomach just thinking I ate their food

Robert M.

Yelp
Wish I would of checked yelp before eating there. Food was ok and service was fine. I read yelp reviews when I was ready to post mine. Dirty Dining report on Ch. 13 in May opened my eyes to cleanliness in this place. Received a bad review and was closed by health inspectors for a few days. Roaches and poor food handling reported. Lesson learned; read yelp prior to going to restaurant.

Diana Rodriguez J.

Yelp
We have been going to el burrito for years. At least once a week we eat lunch here, and today I found a roach in my chicken taquitos and they were not helpful at all. When we called he asked, what kind of bug was it?? We said well I can send you a picture. He didn't even care. And had the audacity to ask me well what do you want me to do?!? Excuse me. Will not be going back and I will be contacting the health department.

Amber M.

Yelp
We've driven by this place several times, and finally decided to try it out despite the negative reviews. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the lack of flavor and over priced food. I do appreciate the friendly service, but I do not recommend this place.

Amber T.

Yelp
This is by far the best Mexican food I've had in Vegas! Everything was so delicious we are already ready to go back. We tried both tamales and enchiladas... both very impressive. I'm not a big salsa fan but this one was homemade and just enough spice. Not to mention how amazing their beans and rice was... huge portions and a little pricey but so worth the drive.

Chase B.

Yelp
My favorite dish for dinner is the enchiladas, and the Chilaquiles are the BOMB!! Will definitely be coming here every year when me and my family visit LV Pro Tip: Get the soup with cheese. Best appetizer we've had our whole trip

Andrea D.

Yelp
So this is a family restaurant that has been in Las Vegas since 1969 and has some food options that can't be found anywhere else in Las Vegas. The nameless, homemade noodle soup with cheese is out of this world. The salsa is homemade and they have two options, one that is hot and one that is more of a chunky salsa, the chips are also homemade and delicious. They also offer lots of different options, with mix and match dinner entrees as well. Bottom line, you will never satisfy everyone on any aspect but I support family run and small businesses not to mention Las Vegas locals. The margaritas also are hand poured and are divine. So try it, trust me, you will like it!
