The 21 Best Restaurants in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca | Eater

"Some say that if you didn’t go to El Cafecito, you didn’t go to Puerto Escondido. This place is a true icon, having indulged locals and visitors for 29 years. Having breakfast here while watching the picturesque Zicatela Beach in the early mornings is a classic experience: That’s why there’s always a long line outside. Once you make it inside, the chilaquiles in green sauce are a must, accompanied by hot coffee and freshly made bread. Open from Monday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. [$]" - Tirza Bonifazi

The place was ok The tasajo, cactus and avocado were good The fruit was so fresh and the French toast fantastic! I love it when they use that kind of bread, it has the right amount of cinnamon and sugar, so yummy! The juices were fresh and really good

I got Al Verde Mas and oat meal/almond/bananas breakfast. It was good but my partner didn't like what he ordered. And the ambiance wasn't there.

The food is very good, the menu has a variety of Mexican dishes, couple of international dishes and few see food dishes. We ordered “chiles rellenos con queso”, “Pollo Almendrado” , “Camarones empanizados” & “Pasta Carbonara “ Outside of the restaurant you can find Elena, she is under an umbrella selling beautiful hadcrafts .

Best dinner we had at Puerto Escondido...The camaron- a la Diabla and Arrachera Fajitas hit perfectly. SUPER FAST SERVICE!! Benito provided amazing service.

Food here was absolutely amazing and the wait time was completely worth it. Service was fast and filled with a great energy environment. We were able to see the staff joking around and dancing having a great time. The food speaks for itself self as the flavors are stunning. They accept bank cards here which was a great plus. Parking was plentiful and easy to find. Definitely found a go to spot

Has one of the best chilaquiles I have ever had to date. I asked them to make it extra spicy which they did. Be sure to add the steak on it. Honestly I’d take a trip back here just for the chilaquiles lol. Also the prices are very fair.

I’ve been in Mexico for 6 weeks and haven’t had a single bad meal—until today. Mexican food has been incredible everywhere, from street stands to high-end spots. El Cafesito was a huge letdown. The bread tasted and felt stale, and the beans seemed like they had actually spoiled. It was the kind of meal you don’t want to finish. They also didn’t have WiFi, while pretty much every other restaurant around does. The coffee was the only thing I liked, but that alone isn’t worth coming back for.
