We came with friends for happy hour and have been to this location before. Our servers, Maria and Melanie, were both very sweet and clearly working hard. They seemed a bit understaffed this evening, as it took about 25 minutes for my drink to arrive after we sat down.
We started with chips and salsa. When we asked the manager for more salsa verde, he seemed a bit preoccupied and didn't really engage with us.
On the positive side, you really can't beat the happy hour prices! My classic margarita was tasty, though my friend found her blood orange margarita a bit too sweet. We'd love to see the pineapple coconut margarita added to the happy hour menu--it's a favorite!
For food, we ordered the carnitas tacos, kale salad, fish tacos, and brisket quesadillas. My carnitas tacos were flavorful and filling, with a nice touch of spice, though I wish they had more toppings. My friend felt the same. The brisket quesadillas were a hit--melty, rich, and delicious. Another friend enjoyed his fish tacos, although one taco had a noticeably smaller piece of fish than the other. He also loved the kale salad, which he said was perfectly dressed with pumpkin seeds, lemon dressing, and a standout cornmeal crouton.
Overall, a mixed experience.
