Google
This place deserves a higher rating. I'm Mexican. Los sabores son tradicionales con presentación contemporal. Mexican flavor with a contemporary presentation. Fabulous place to eat. It blew me away. I'm coming back again and again. I had a green chile César. Chile rojo enchiladas with carne asada and a mahji fish taco. Everything. EVERYTHING. Was delicious. Huge props to the chef!! *Update. Came a second time on a Tuesday and had their $1 tacos served all day and a plate of their Pasta Con Queso. Super good.

Google
Arrived during happy hour, and quickly ordered our house margaritas! They were made with fresh ingredients, just tart enough. We had the gringo tacos, the brisket and fish tacos. And we absolutely loved the queso dip!

Google
Taco motha effing Tuesday is hands down the best at this joint! Small but might! El Camino is the El Captan of Taco Tuesday! Simple is the name of the game here. With $1 street tacos (order as a group from 6-8 different types) and $2 happy hour beers, you will not leave here unhappy. The vibe is chill and all of the staff is having as much fun as the customers. It has a hometown feel but a step up from a dive and the food puts it yet another step above. They have a huge selection of tequila and mezcal to suit any liking. Also, take special note of the artwork as it changing often and is all for sale from local artists. I actually own one now. It gets busy early and they do run out of some of the items if it is slammed so be warned. I can honestly say I never had a bad taco Tuesday here 6 weeks running! Happy eating!

Google
I love El Camino so much. I’ve lived in the area for about 3 years and this spot is the one I frequent most often. The staff is always so kind, respectful, and attentive. The food is really good (their happy hour snack menu is my FAVE.) The drinks are really good. They have a selection of infused tequilas. The whole vibe is just great. If you’re looking for a place where everybody knows your name with good eats, spirits and peeps — you can’t go wrong with El Camino. I’m genuinely thankful to have a place I can frequent that feels safe and welcoming!

Google
Wow! Just had this tonight for taco Tuesday after a recommendation, and I am so impressed! The food was above par for a taco Tuesday $1 street taco menu and the staff was super attentive while in a busy environment and soquest! The tacos were filled with meat- I tried the carnival, brisket, chicken? and chorizo...no belly ache after ;) The chips were crisp and enough I got to take home and the salsa was a perfect medium blend. And as a feng shui consultant, I thought their decor and lighting superb! I will definitely be back and can't wait to try the queso!

Google
all vibes, mid substance....food is way over priced and quality is average at best, service was also pretty bad, our waiter knew next to nothing about the food and drinks...pretty bad first experience...how was everything pictured $166...math don't math

Google
Amazing staff! (Huge shoutouts to Emma, Nate, Ryan!!). Brunch menu is killer. 1 dollar tacos Tuesday. Super fun back patio! Couldn’t love this place more).

Christopher Pumarada

Google
Delicious food and relatively cheap! Only reason it’s 4 stars is because the taco is a bit pricey for the portion!

Keara K.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance are excellent! Best service I have had at a restaurant in a long time. The people seem genuinely happy to work there and will go the extra mile to make sure you had a pleasant experience. Can't recommend it enough.

Yelp
YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE!!! We had - the cauliflower app - Tempe taco - chips and salsa - mushroom taco - shishito peppers - plantain, banana dessert thing - corn churro donuts I will be DREAMING about this meal for the next year. This ambiance is perfect for a girls night or date night James, is an absolute angel and I will never doubt him when it comes to food ever again. Best service I have ever received at a restaurant. Believe me when I say I will be back

Yelp
I'm not quite sure what it means for somewhere to be a "Community Tavern" but I had a blast at El Camino. Maybe it has something to do with their 20% charge. I came here on a date some weekday evening and got seated immediately. We ordered guac (delicious!) and I personally got a massive tray of Green Chili Nachos. They were LOADED and tasty. I would definitely order those nachos again. Got a few margaritas as well. Can't exactly remember which ones, but they were alright. Parking in this area is often challenging as always. I got lucky and found a spot right in front. Customer service is fantastic. I saw they have a Taco Tuesday menu. Great if you love street tacos. Would come here again.

Yelp
I want to come back to try different things off the menu -- based on the brisket and veggie curry tacos, I'd give it 3.5 stars. The veggie curry taco was really good! I liked the pieces of sweet potato, which gave it a nice sweetness. The brisket taco was disappointing. It was overly acidic and kind of sour tasting. There were no discernible plantains -- the element I was most excited about. The prices for the tacos are kind of high for what you get (almost $6 for the small, aforementioned brisket taco), and they come out on communal plates which gets unwieldy with large groups. I'd come back to try other items on the menu, or more veggie curry tacos!

Yelp
Food is better than earlier visits, staff is attentive. Much improved experience! Nice atmosphere.

Yelp
Amazing happy hour deals here! We all just kept ordering dishes of the happy hour menu & put together a random lunch and it was so fun. I am still thinking about the chorizo corndog and how I can steal that recipe. The corndog was so good that after having one, I ordered another. I had a taco as well which was delicious and tried almost everything from the HH menu. Really solid food, wide variety on the menu, and quick service. My only complaint is that the ginger pinnacle marg didn't really taste at all like ginger and I had been really excited to try their ginger infused tequila!

Yelp
This place was amazing! We walked in around 7:30 on a Saturday and got a seat right away. We were brought water almost immediately and the server came right after to take our order. We got the nachos which were absolutely delicious! The green chile was perfect, the chips are homemade and thick. They bake the entire dish which just pulls it all together. It is definitely a must try if you're in the area. They have a great taco menu as well. The decor is woodsy/industrial, really pretty and a nice spot to come have drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a great time last night at El Camino as part of a work event! Never been before but they have some solid food. They have a interior space with a nice dark wood paneling, feeling intimate. There's a nice big bar and some tables, then a large outdoor patio area. I loved the patio and enjoying the summer evening. Staff was friendly and attentive with the four of us. They were hardworking and helpful with menu advice. We started with the chips and salsa and I got an Ale Camino beer. It was from Ratio and had a nice lager taste. For dinner I had to pounce on the chicken enchiladas. They came in a delicious sauce and the meat was seasoned very well. They were very tasty, but I think I would have rather a green salsa over instead of shredded lettuce. Also, would have loved just a bit of beans and rice, but th e main dish was tasty anyway. Finished off the night with a mezcal margarita which was tasty! A bit too much ice for me, and really didn't have a big flavor. It was still tasty, and did the job! Overall I'll definitely consider eating here in the future when I'm back in town!

Yelp
First of all, this place is NOT Mexican food. As for the ambiance they cater to middle age Caucasians. You will pay a minimum of 40 percent of your check due to El Camino automatically charging you 20% simply to eat at their establishment aside from expected gratuity. Skip this place

Pia A.

Yelp
Great service n food amazing -the ambiance is nice too music and friendly neighborhood

Yelp
I review service. I review food quality. I review drink specials. But, sometimes, there is something more. They call themselves a "Community Tavern" and I agree. You feel it once you walk off of 32nd Avenue (fun street to do other stuff after your excellent experience here) into the establishment. It oozes Community. We always get fantastic service. We always enjoy our time. We love the bar seating. Mark was our most recent bartender. I always subconsciously ask for an elevation of typical "service" (I can get that at most places) and Mark delivered that. Somehow, even though I am the self-appointed king of mac and cheese, I had never had the mac n queso here. It was delicious! Wife had the green chili, and no complaints. Then, let's talk about the hot sauces. Happiness: they have house hot sauces. Sadness: They are down to three (from four). But, if that is my complaint, then all is good. Want a small place that is friendly, has great food, and is in a cool part of town? Boom goes the dynamite. This is that place. Definitely recommend, and see you there (actually a good chance of that). Now get off my lawn (movie reference).

Sehjal A.

Yelp
You have to come here for their taco Tuesday night!! $1 tacos all day every Tuesday, literally can't beat that deal. Their chicken taco was by far the best we tried, the meat was super tender and the flavors were on point. I would skip the mushroom taco though. We also loved the indoor seating area but don't sleep on their outside patio, it was super cute and heated! Definitely give this place a try.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
The nachos were out of this world! Every chip was covered in cheese and toppings, making every bite consistently delicious. I got the nachos without any meat on top and it was still a good amount of food. I forgot to take a photo of the tacos but the BBQ mushroom was my favorite, I'll definitely be back for more of those! The shrimp taco was also delicious. The shrimp was not over cooked and the toppings paired well. My husband got the brisket taco and absolutely loved it. We are definitely adding El Camino into our rotation of restaurants!

Yelp
Me & bf stopped in to get food our first night in Denver. Found out they do $1 street tacos on Tuesdays which is awesome!! The food was outstanding & the service was too. Very quick and nice waitstaff. They play music but it's not overwhelming loud. Nice lil place
google avatar

Jaylene W.

Yelp
Good vibes, friendly staff, excellent bar food, all made in-house. The polenta-green chili croutons could be a snack on their own, but they make the caesar salad the bomb. Shrimp tacos, fantastic. Queso is great.
google avatar

Hang L.

Yelp
Always carving tacos! One thing I hate about this area is the parking, but I lucked out and found one right in front. We sat at the bar. This is a cute and cozy place. Our service was ok, when asked what she recommended she told me everything is great. This is the one answer I hate when asking questions. When asking about tequlia she was very broad and said she has too many options and to look at the menu. I asked because I didn't want to look at the menu. It wasn't that busy for her to be so short, if it was busy I would ubderstand. For the food, we ordered the enchiladas with green sauce. This was okay- nothing special. The tacos were also okay. The hot sauces weren't very spicy, and the green chili I had to try wasn't my favorite either. I would maybe come back to taco Tuesday And give it another try.
google avatar

Malik C.

Yelp
I arrived with my friends and was fairly hungry standing outside despite the cold while we waited for a table but I loved the ambiance. I'm not going to say the service was excellent. The service was polite, but distant and remote due to being extremely busy. She was very effective, though, in the beginning and was responsive until the food arrived. The food was fantastic. I ordered the steak and chicken tacos and a chicken quesadilla. The chicken for the quesadilla were just a bit salty, it was a little salty but They were good The flour tortillas were obviously fresh and so soft! The asada tacos were seasoned and a nice balance between the chicken tacos . The tacos were also a little small like an appetizer for them to be $5 each compared to anywhere else I have eaten tacos and I found them filling. They were delicious! The Cranberry margarita was good. Nothing exceptional. The chips were good but the queso was fantastic!
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
More vegetarian options than vegan! We've mostly gone for Sunday brunches, never really had an issue getting seated immediately. They don't do bottomless mimosas but pretty good deals on cheap mimosas. Great artwork on the walls for sale usually.

Suzanna F.

Yelp
Ordered the chips with cheese, salsa and guacamole. Was very delicious. Also had the chicken enchiladas with the Verde sauce. Wonderful flavors not too spicy. Would definitely recommend this place and go again.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this cute spot. Always excellent service and memorable food! Repeat customer for sure!
google avatar

Joy Q.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place Came here on Tuesday and enjoyed the amazing deal. My favorite of the night was definitely the carnita taco with a sautéed veggie side. It's not porky and is full of flavor. The brisket was a bit too salty though, so I would just stick to the carnita next time
google avatar

Madi H.

Yelp
Came here for a girls night with my friend as we were craving margs, and it did not disappoint. We both got hibiscus margs that were so tasty and honestly pretty refreshing. We each got two tacos and chips and salsa, which ended up being pretty filling. We went on a Friday night and there was a short wait but we got in even earlier than they had originally estimated. The place itself is cute, and we got to sit next to the window and watch all the happenings on the strip of businesses outside. I actually really love this area. Can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Joanne S.

Yelp
$5 taco Tuesday was the reason why we tried El Camino community Tavern and it will be the reason we go back! Paul and I picked carnitas and chicken, both fire options. The meat was shredded and juicy, the tacos were warm and perfect street style size. We also got the queso guac salsa with chips. Very satisfied!
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
I had a great time at El Camino. I met up with a friend I haven't seen in ten years, and we had a blast reconnecting. The food was pretty good too. I had the green chile nachos, carnitas tacos, and "Mexican white claws". I appreciated that they grow their own herbs on the roof, and the backyard patio was the perfect spot for a reunion. I will be back.
google avatar

Marissa R.

Yelp
We went back for brunch today ( about a week and a half after my original post). I'm happy to report that everything was much better this time. We sat in the back in the little outdoor garden type area. They had different music than the main area. So glad they had shade cuz it would have been a scorcher without. We had a lovely waitress who was super sweet. We ordered mimosas, coffee and breakfast queso to start. It was really good! The mimosa ratio was perfection for the price. The breakfast queso had little bits of bacon and all sorts of deliciousness. What surprised me was the beans in the queso, could have gone without but that's just my opinion. My boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and I had the breakfast quesadilla. Both were really delicious and big portions!! We both had leftovers (that we weren't able to take home sadly. Overall this was such a better experience than my 1st time here
google avatar

Kelly A.

Yelp
I got the lunch sandwich wrap which was a perfect sized handheld with equally spaced out ingredients served with fries. Make sure to ask for their new TOMATILLO KETCHUP!!! Holy bonkers was it good (I recommend mixing it with the garlic crema that comes with the dish). Not a massive portion but perfect for me and for those looking for a solid M-F lunch deal.
google avatar

Georgette G.

Yelp
Me and my 2 sisters went here for a drink, gorgeous place and a very nice bartender who made us feel very welcomed, tasty drinks now we need to go back and eat

Nicole D.

Yelp
Great Taco Tuesday deal and great margaritas. Huge fan of the Nachos with pork green chili. The aesthetic of the venue is elevated and pleasant to be in. Great little outdoor patio as well.

Yelp
Came here for the first time about a month ago and forgot to write a review! It was a Friday night. The lady and I were hungry and indecisive. We searched Yelp for Mexican restaurants for far too long. Then we looked at each other and said, "We've walked by El Camino a million times and haven't been yet." The lightbulb turned on in our heads. We jetted over to El Camino. When they say "community tavern" do they mean it. This place was slammed. You'll notice the tables are close together. If privacy is your thing, this might be the best place for a romantic evening. If partying is your thing, this might be heaven on earth. The close tables reminded me of bars and cafes in Europe. A can of Calidad is a win in my book. We started with the Chip Dip Trio (guac, queso, salsa) and we both were fans of all three. Touché. Normally two out of three will be up to par. They nailed it here. When's the last time you ordered Fajitas? That's what I asked myself, too. I'm really glad I hopped back on the Fajita train. A sizzling plate of grilled chicken and veggies grabbed the attention of the entire restaurant. Served with flour tortillas and a giant plate of accoutrements like rice, beans, pico, guac and crema. Good lord, this was an epic portion for $15. Other than the chicken drying out (just a tad) toward the end of my meal, this was a textbook fajita plate. Busy restaurant in the heart of the Highlands. Now I can see why they are a community tavern style restaurant. Will definitely return with a big appetite!
google avatar

Christin S.

Yelp
Incredible $5 Tuesday deal, but be prepared for a crowd! We went around 6 and got seats at the bar while it quickly filled up around us. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively (i.e. if you're looking for a quiet, private dinner this isn't it). For drinks we tried the Mexican Mule (very good) and the Spicy Pepino (absolutely incredible) Apps: Cauliflower chimi was flavorful and cooked to the perfect level, still had some bite to it but not too hard. The chips were thin and crispy, and i could have eaten the cheese dip with a spoon! For our meal we tried the Al pastor tacos and the brisket taco Tuesday deal. My partner used to work in Mexico and said these were the best pastor he's had since then! The brisket was also fall apart tender with incredible smoky flavors and had just the right amount of heat. Get the pickled onions to cut the richness!
google avatar

Drew F.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a happy hour date night and it was very enjoyable. We sat in the window which was pleasant as well. We ordered the nachos and a chicken quesadilla to share. The nachos were amazing, lots of toppings and plenty for each bite. Quesadilla was your normal thing but I will say it was thicker than most. Our server did a fine job and checked in periodically. We wanted to order pretty quickly and had no issue executing that. I will say they are one of the restaurants that include a 20% tip in the bill and I am seeing this become more and more popular with restaurants around the Denver Metro area. Final note - the house marg was delish! Would go again.
google avatar

Marissa G.

Yelp
This is a really great place for a lunch or dinner meal. The restaurant is so nice and in a good location. The parking is not great in all honesty. However you can go into the neighborhood and just walk there so not sure if that matters to many people here. The food was pretty large and a good sizes. The deals are normal but not amazing or great just normal. My sangria cost 9 dollars while my burrito cost 16 due to me adding the cheese if I hadn't done that it would be 13 or so. The prices are a tad higher then other Mexican restaurants around here however for this location the price of food is pretty on par. Now as for how it was my meal was great and full of flavor and just hit the spot great. I ended up taking some home. My sangria was also pretty good I'm not sure if the mixture they are using but it taste just a smidge off. I've bartended for years so I'm very picky on drinks and how places make them. I would say yes the sangria go ahead and get but it's not traditional by any means. The margarita my friend got was just no. Absolutely no. It was and I quote tequila with soda water taste. It was not good by any stretch of the imagination. So pass on the margaritas at this place. Overall a really great place and really chill atmosphere! So definitely try it if you are in the area.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! Severely disappointed in your mandatory 20% gratuity. Staff is Great! Managemnt is failing! Hope it's worth it to you!!!

Yelp
Great food Great service Great drinks Drove from Cherry Creek! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
We love coming to el Camino for taco Tuesday's and hanging out on the patio. Their food is simple and okay. A bit overpriced when you come on a non taco Tuesday ! The last few times we've come the service has been kinda weird. I assume they're short staffed so the bar staff was working the floor. Lemme tell you our bartender / waitress was not happy about that situation. Either way come for taco Tuesday but don't linger unless you're going to grab a drink :) you maybe shooed out.
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
I've dined here a couple times in the last month and had great experiences both times. Ironically I've also been seated at the exact same table both times too. For starters the chips and trio of queso, guac and salsa is a must have. Anytime a restaurant brings warm tortilla chips, I'm in all the way. The first time I tried the cauliflower tacos because I've never had that before. I like cauliflower to be fried and not flash fried as this seemed to be. The flavor was good but I ended up picking out half the cauliflower to be able to hold the taco in my hand. The second time I got the spinach and mushroom enchiladas with green and red chili. I really liked this dish and thought it was a well done vegetarian option. Customer service is fast and really friendly. Plus I really appreciate that they check vaccine cards. The hubs and I will absolutely be back.
google avatar

Allie D.

Yelp
In general I feel like the Highlands is such a charming neighborhood. The Main Street has plenty to walk around and see from shops, restaurants, bars. We popped into El Camino for a drink and appetizer. The service was great and fast. We had some of their margaritas. We also tried their cauliflower chimi. This is a great little spot to check out.
google avatar

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Would not go back here for food. It was mediocre at best. Solid spot for a fun ambiance and drinks though. The service was also great.
google avatar

Skylar N.

Yelp
Great spot!! Great portions and really fast service! Drinks and food are usually within minutes! Taco Tuesday is awesome! They have it all day! $5 per bowl of meat(Amazing deal). Comes with 5 tortillas per bowl. MUST TRY SPOT!

Yelp
Food 3/5 Service 2/5 Ambiance 3/5 Coming from out of state and this place being the first restaurant to try I was pretty disappointed. The reviews looked amazing as well as the pictures of the food. As soon as I walked in the host took a bit long to seat us making me wonder if we were supposed to seat ourselves hence the "wait to be seated sign". The menu here is pretty small so it didn't take us too long to skim through to find what we wanted. Our server took pretty long, almost a solid 10 minutes just for us to start our orders. As an appetizer, we got the trio dip which was really good. However, we never got our chips refilled while a table next to us who got only chips and salsa was given a stack after eating a few . We ordered 5 tacos but only received 4, which was pretty sad because this place is mainly known for their tacos. To top it off, they charged a 20% gratuity, which does not equate to the service we received.

Ty T.

Yelp
Came in for brunch after leaving sloans lake tap and burger, and wow am I glad I ended up here. Everyone was extremely friendly, including the bartender Emma. Mimosas were extremely cheap, and I got the chip and dip trio and brunchiladas as my entree. Everything tasted amazing, will be back for dinner before I travel back home
google avatar

Olivia Z.

Yelp
This place is good, but it's just average. Nothing special. The food and drinks are fine. The service is fine. If you're looking for an average Mexican restaurant you'll like it here. Although it's a little pricey for what you're getting in my opinion.
google avatar

Adrienne B.

Yelp
Ordered carry out on a busy Friday night. The parking situation was challenging but our order was ready when I arrived. It was a little expensive but the portions were huge. The vegetarian green chili was ready good. My veggie black bean burrito was huge and really tasty. My husband got nachos with green chili and it was a very big portion. He really liked it. If we weren't super hungry and wanting to pig out it could have easily been two meals.

Hellen W.

Yelp
I've been here many times in the problem is the first hit you in the neighborhood fee and then they slap a mandatory 20% gratuity on A gratuity should be just that some of the customer gives gratefully. When I told him about it, they were telling me how "they like to take care of the employees." if that's the case, then why don't you pay them instead of making me pay them?
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Went back to El Camino after being invited to give it another shot by a manager after my previous review. We did not alert them as to when we were coming, so they would've had no way to prepare for our arrival. Everything about my previous visit got better. The food was WAY better, much more robust and seasoned and way more satisfying than the first time we went. The loaded guac was just as amazing, and their cocktails were still phenomenal like the time before. Additionally, service was still just as excellent as it was before with lots of friendly people and very fast service. Super happy w/ El Camino after a second visit and they definitely earned their way into becoming a place I'd stop w/out hesitation when I'm in that neighborhood.
google avatar

Shelby N.

Yelp
This place was great. The service was awesome and the food was delicious. Steak fajitas were the best I've had in a while. I will say the queso was not my favorite but everything else was great!
google avatar

Timothy K.

Yelp
Nothing like TOCO TUESDAY!! Pulled up to celebrate a friends birthday and the spot was jumping as usual. Packed wall to wall, we got lucky and were able to snag a table quick. $5 for 5 tortillas and your choice of meat in a build your own taco style deal with salsa and onions provided. The tacos are solid and the vibe and energy of this place on Tuesday is something everyone needs experience.
google avatar

Alina T.

Yelp
My favorite thing about this place: I don't think you can beat the fish tacos. Absolutely wonderful (and I lived in Miami for years, where we know a thing about fish and tacos), and actually good proportions for the price, seriously wouldn't have changed anything about them. The service is also friendly and helpful! Our server (I'm sorry, I can't remember your name!) recommended the getting their watermelon margarita with Chile on the rim, and it was to dieee for on a summer evening - not too sweet and the Chile added a wonderful kick. My friend also got the ginger margarita & shrimp tacos, both of which she loved too! Good atmosphere - it looked a little dark if you were way inside, but we lucked out and got one of the small tables right by the window, perfect for a Colorado evening. Have already recommended to anyone I know loves fish tacos & I'll definitely be back!

Denver L.

Yelp
New management changed everything for the worse. No more Taco Tuesday deal to go, 20% tip on bill sneakily applied, food average for price outside of deal
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! Amaze balls!!! The green chili is off the hook! The enchiladas were the best I've ever had! The chicken was so tender and juicy! I went back two days later to get more!
