Decent service, pretty good food, okay atmosphere, prices are meh, great management.
Food was better than I thought it'd be. Though my tortilla soup was enormous in portion, it was lacking in flavor and the shredded chicken in it was very dry. Some salt and maybe a splash of cream or some cheese would have gone a long way. My friend said her tostada (and margarita) was enjoyable. Watching her try to eat it was a little awkward... definitely had to use a knife and fork. Her carne asada entree looked amazing and she gave me a bit of her steak-- it was delicious. It came with generous portions of guacamole, pico de gallo, and refried beans. It also came with 3 tortillas, which I think were too few. 4 or 5 would have been more appropriate. My chipotle shrimp was AMAZING. The sauce... I could put that sauce over anything! It was so damned tasty and it had bits of asparagus and corn in it. A really nice touch.
The ambiance at this restaurant is an issue. Though it's beautiful inside, there came a point in the evening when the music got REALLY LOUD. Like, we felt like we were in a nightclub. It was 7 PM on a Wednesday night-- come on. Also, the air conditioning vents were dripping condensation all over and, in my opinion, the restaurant got very warm toward the end of our meal. Because one of the vents dripped on my friend, the manager sent us over a free order of churros (!). They were delicious. Fresh and warm... mmmm. The caramel sauce was the best (the chocolate sauce was just chocolate syrup and the strawberry sauce was surprisingly not-that-good). Totally wasn't expecting free dessert, but it was so nice.
The prices are high... I don't know that the food merits the prices, but I'd probably come back here for dinner again, so maybe they do? The service was fine. Server was friendly enough and we were having dinner at a leisurely pace.
