"Austin Tex-Mex restaurant El Chilito quietly closed its 6425 Burnet Road location without any notice on Monday, October 29. The Brentwood restaurant was no longer on El Chilito’s official website and its phone number is disconnected. An El Chilito staffer at the Manor Road restaurant confirmed the closure, citing it wasn't 'busy.' Opened in 2016 after numerous delays, El Chilito's Burnet Road location is now closed. However, there are still three other locations in Austin: Manor Road, East 7th, and Manchaca." - Nadia Chaudhury

Local chain, serving...acceptable...tacos. The problem here is that, given that it is Austin, "acceptable" is pretty lame - there are *so* many other, and better, options within half-a-mile of this. Sooo, skip it, and go elsewhere...

One of my favorite places in Austin! Breakfast is served all day! They even have vegetarian and vegan options!

Great breakfast tacos & burritos. Cute space.

These were some of the worst breakfast tacos I've ever eaten. Very little flavor, thrown together, absolutely not worth $3.50 or really even worth $1. The survive was good and the place is very cute though.

First, I have to say, El Chilito is probably one of the better, if not best non-chicken taco I've had in my life. Unfortunately, the portion size for what you pay for is completely out of line. I paid $11 for 2 tacos and a drink, which would be fine at Torchy's, for example, where they give you tacos loaded up with deliciousness. El Chilito gives you about a fourth of that. That's why I'm going with the four stars. Good quality, tiny portions for the price. Should not be marked as inexpensive on Google Maps.

I went for the Selena brunch they had in December. They we're pretty busy but managed to get food out quickly. I felt that the food I ordered lacked flavor and there was no where to sit. The closed the parking lot for the DJ and patrons but didn't do a great job, which lead to people being able to drive in, but not out. This caused interesting issues for traffic since the entrance off a main road.

🛑𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝑪𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒅 - 01/2019 • Great native food, fast. Breakfast tacos perfect. Fresh ingredients, crunchy bacon, great aroma. Freshly made salsa. Love the puffy tacos. 🌮 El Chilito is in an island on a ↖↗. 1 side being Burnet Rd. The other a smaller Burnet Ln. I mean... exposed. All dining is outside. Thought it would be unsettling, but I actually enjoyed being out in the open, traffic whooshing nearby, forcing my daughter & I to concentrate on our conversation. Thankfully, there are protective Plexiglas "screens" on the perimeter of the dining deck. El Chilito is a new addiction-in-the-making. Good wifi.

I love this place for a quick bite. It's hard to beat a place that serves a good ceviche that is in walking distance. My kids love a bean and cheese or bean and cheese and egg puffy taco but I'm not a great fan of the tacos myself. I've surprising had really bland chorizo breakfast tacos (and some of the lunch/dinner tacos) from here but recently they've done a better job. The thick masa tortilla that makes a "puffy taco" is pretty great and is usually worth it.
