Google
The Mariscos are amazing. Any dish you get it, it’s a different flavorful flavor. I would recommend this place to anyone. This is my second visit after three weeks trying to make arrangements to come back. I love it.

Google
Hands down the best seafood in the portland area. We visited for the first time a couple weeks ago and couldn’t wait to come back! The service was great, our server both visits was Kalil and he was very attentive and continued coming back to check on us. On Sunday there were multiple celebrations and they would come around to the tables to sing to the person and also they have a little bull they bring around for people to dance and whoever participates receives a shot. We tried the molcajete, “cucaracha” shrimp, mejillones, camarones a la diabla, piña cantamara, tacos, and everything was delicious. I was full but they gave us a complimentary coconut flan for our anniversary and that was out of this world! I could come here just for the coconut flan.

Google

Google
I loved the food and drinks everything was so good the service incredible my server Kalil went out of the way he’s so good!!! The dance was amazing!!! My family was so happy with him! Thank you Kalil!

Yannette Ayala

Google
The waiters are the sweetest! The carne asada is fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is fun and it’s fast service

Lila Lopez

Google
love the food, very good and fast service.

Google
Amazing food, served with a side of racism. One day they speak fluent English, the next day...no habla! From the same person! Really good food must be really bad for the language center of the brain. Try the lamb stew. Unless it's a rough day. Then say, "cordero".

Google
Customer service is much better. Still great prices for food. Great for on the go tacos, burritos, nachos and other snacks. Love their menudo and the tostadas de camaron. Their sushi is good, but timing isnt so great. Needs improvement

Yelp
I went to drive thru to order 4 beef asada tacos with everything on it. I did not get what I ordered. I got 4 tacos with some kind of meat with pineapple and have some kind of red sauce. The onions and jalapeno was soggy. There were hardly onions and chilantro in the tacos. I even tip to get a wrong order. Please don't waste your money in this place and NOOO I will not come back nor recommend this place. Paid 20 for 4 tacos I didn't order or even like it. It was terrible.

Yelp

Yelp
Yuck. I didn't know you could mess up tacos. Dried old hard meat. Like me it was from days ago. Steak, chicken were so dried out I couldn't swallow them let alone chew them. Bad flavor and should not be served.

Yelp
El Chino is the best! Fantastic food and hospitality! We love coming here for special occasions.

Derek M.

Yelp
Some say "authentic " Mexican food, not like I have had on my trips to Mexico. Food was horrible, soggy, tasteless nachos, the beef is ground gristle so had to spit it out . Torta was soggy sandwich with ground gristle. This is one of those "one and done" places, never again.

Yelp
I had the asada nachos I love them it was alot for 2 people to eat. The torta was huge plenty of meat and avocado and beans it was the size of the plate. I'm visiting from California. This place has the bomb food

Yelp
Not great. Service was poor, but the robot that brings your food to your table was kind of cool. Strawberry lemonade tasted like cleaning chemicals and they kept it on the bill even after I only had 2 sips and returned it for another drink. Bean and cheese burrito didn't taste great and food came with no sides. Pasta was the only good dish. It took 20 minutes to get the bill. Kids screaming running around and very loud ambiance.

Yelp
The food is amazing. The service matches the food. We got Siete Mares Caldo (seafood soup). There's actually seven kinds of seafood in a broth. I'll be back for their pupusas and seafood tower.

Fernanda V.

Yelp
Quite slow service. We were a medium sized party and I had to ask three times for my order, which ended up coming cold and at the end. Lack of attention, and the food doesn't really make up for it, they were sad cold tacos.

Clarice B.

Yelp
The food was really good. Chips and Salsa. You can tell that the chips are made on site and not store bought. Its tough and crunchy. Salsa had a very strong Garlic taste, but I liked it nonetheless. Tacos. I had four tacos (two al pastor and two birria) 2.50 each. In my opinion its a little high for my taste but after tasting them I realized it was worth it. Al pastor tacos had a sweet taste which I loved, and the birria had juicy moist meat. All four tacos was loaded with meat and you can tell that the tortilla wasnt just bough from the store like some other restaurant (one time I got tacos at an "authentic mexican restaurant" just to see them use Mission corn tortillas). But I could be be wrong it could be store bought, but all I know is that it's definitely better than Mission corn tortilla. One thing that I found wrong was that the water at the soda machine didn't work, but I just decided not to say anything, they probably would've grabbed me water elsewhere but I was fine it wasn't life or death

Yelp
Very friendly staff, very tasty food and the salsa is pretty incredible; awesome flavor and spice. The service is really fast, and pretty friendly. $1.50 tacos, fish, burritos, it has it all. The prices seemed high to me prior to eating the food, now it makes sense - quality food and great flavors.

Yelp
Not much to the enchilada plate. Really basic dish, rice and beans were okay. I've had lots of other enchilada plates at various other restaurants and food trucks/carts that were miles ahead of this dish in flavor. For the price I feel like it was not worth it. The enchiladas were mostly cheese in the middle with some chicken but I couldn't taste either very much, and the veggies on top didn't really add to the flavor at all. Ate it all but plate didn't fill me up :/. Would be willing to try other things on the menu though.

Yelp
Came here , good food super bad service! They were out of utensils so we asked for some and they handed us dirty utensils!

Jackie J.

Yelp
Delicious, fair priced place for some authentic Mexican food. Friendly service and home-style dining. Highly recommend!

Martín L.

Yelp
Saw a cockroach in my table I was sitting for and Mention it to the cashier. Cashier totally ignored me and didn't do anything while I was feeling disgusted to even eat my food. Finally got one of the cooks to pay attention to me and killed it and suggested for me to move to a different table. Bad customer service. Also OSHA/Everclean should look into the restaurant to see how dirty it is.

Yelp
If I could give it no stars I would. This is a freaking joke. I ordered three sausage breakfast burritos with everything which was $20!! Are you kidding me they should have been down right delicious for that much money. So we get them home and bite in to them and their "sausage" in said burrito is a freaking HOT DOG.... I mean like went to Winco and bought a package of Oscar Meyer wieners cut them up and put it in a tortilla with eggs and beans. This was the most vile food I've ever tried. We just got to throw away $20 of hot dogs and the side of day old tortilla chips they were so gracious to give us as well. Guess it's time to go make some real breakfast.

Yelp
This is closer to my work then the taco stand that they have. They have several options to pick from. I normally just get steak taco though. The tacos are very good. They are give you a good amount of meat as well as cilantro. The staff here is friendly, nice and always very helpful. Inside is always clean and tidy. This is a improvement over taco time and muchos gracias.

Yelp
Yikes. Every table in the place was dirty. We waited 25 minutes for our expensive food. When the food came out, my son got hIs food 5 minuTes before my food came out. Very short staffed The food was decent but the tiMe and the lack of cleanliness is a real disappointment

Margarita R.

Yelp
We called ahead of time to order 2 orders of sushi that the lady said came with 12 rolls per order, when we got to the restaurant we still had to wait for another 40 minutes after paying. Then when we left and opened the takeout boxes, we were astonished to reveal the nasty, messy view. Not only that, but both sushi orders only came with 8 rolls each. The sushi was not appetizing visually, or flavor wise. It was very soggy, messy, saucy, and didn't come with seaweed! I am beyond disappointed with our experience at el chino. We seriously paid $30 for the nastiest food my taste buds have touched.

Yelp
OK, this is just getting ridiculous now. Went walking down down there from our offices at 8:00am thinking surely, an hour after they are supposed to open, they would be open. But alas, after a brisk walk and arriving at 8:09am...over an hour after they were supposed to open...crickets. Oh wait, I see a figure milling around their kitchen area but still lights out, chairs on tables. Maybe they should get up on their sign with a Sharpie and cross out open at 7am and change that to ..."Uhhh, kinda you know whenever". Or just take it out all together. Avoid going to this place if you have any sense of time and common sense. Liked the food here, but even good food can't make up for glaring issue in customer service and advertising areas. If they aren't paying attention to their own signage and policies, I can only imagine what else that they are not paying attention to. Maybe health standards? Safe food handling policies. Say hello to my little Salmonella.

Yelp
El Chinos on 1st St in Hillsboro is awful! I have gone twice since their renovation and have been incredibly disappointed. Going through the drive thru both times... Their taco price has gone up almost $1 each and you get less meat! I gave them another try and ordered a carnitas omelet for $12. The omelet was pathetic. It consisted of 75% pork fat! It was about 5" x 3" and flatter than a pancake. I will never go back there again. I used to go at least 3 times a week in the last 3 years. Never again!

Yelp
This place is way overpriced. Its decent food, but not worth it when there are other local, yummy, more affordable taquerias in town. For almost $10 a burrito I was expecting it to either be really big, or include sour cream and guacamole. As others have said, if you're starving, go for it.

Yelp
It's been a couple years since my review. Since this place is close to my work, I go there, sometimes, multiple times per week. I openly admit that I wouldn't go as much if it wasn't conveniently located. However, the food is good, it's made to order, the ingredients are above average, and the quantity is great. This isn't the best food I've ever had, but it is damn good. Salsa, chips, burritos, quesadilla, torta, tamales, enchiladas, mole, pupusa, and even the breakfast food are all quite good. Tacos are a hard thing to beat and may be the best value on the menu.

Crispin A.

Yelp
Very unsanitary and everyone including the workers have their masks around their chins. After my card was taken for payment it was handed back wet and sticky because the gloves on the person hadn't been changed in what seems the whole day. Every surface was dirty and all the COVID changes were simply for show only.

Yelp
I really like this place, though I wish I could split my stars along multiple themes. First impression is good. Very friendly staff, clean tables, two big televisions tuned to soccer games. The radio's a bit loud for my taste, but most seem okay with it. I've been here 7 or 8 times and I've settle on the pastor tacos. They're cheap, generously sized, and very succulent and flavourful. I like their other dishes, but there's something about the beans my gringo body doesn't like. Don't miss the salsa bar. There's a dark and smoky sauce that I would lose a digit in exchange for the recipe. Seriously. It's got just the right amount of heat combined with deep earthy flavour. Yum. I would have given the joint four stars, but the service can be unpredictable. I like chips before the meal, and theirs happen to be very tasty. Sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't. I've started to specifically ask for a basket of chips when ordering my meal. Sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't. Other annoyances include not always opening my bottle of Mexican coke, and keeping the bottle opener behind the counter. They also keep their secondary exit door (opens onto the patio) locked most of the time, which might be a fire code violation. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

Yelp
I love El Chino! It is actually one of my favorite Mexican restaurants around here. The ambience is not great, I think the building used to be a fast food restaurant. But their food is amazing. The aguachile is really good. So are the camarones a la diabla. My 2 favorite thing on the menu are the Molcajete Caliente and the Sopes. The Molcajete is incredible- fish, crab, meat, sausage, chicken, queso fresco, nopales. The sauce is amazing. Easily enough for 2 people. The sopes are also so good. I always them it vegetarian - comes with beans, lettuce, queso fresco, I get it without pico de Gallo, and their salsa is really good. Highly recommend- great for take out.

Bianca S.

Yelp
Ordered over the phone around 3:40 went to pick up @4:20 and didn't receive my order until 5:15... they didn't even let me know how much longer all they kept saying was it was almost ready that's insane for only two plates of food... not to mention while waiting I saw a roach in between the seating benches.. definitely didn't have the food and won't be going back either.

Joevani P.

Yelp
The Birria tacos was a 10/10 the stew was delicious and the tacos at perfection, definitely recommend there tacos
google avatar

Bryan J.

Yelp
I truly do not understand the low reviews. I've been here many times and it has always been fantastic! I especially like the pollo empanizado. All the tacos are great. They have mariscos. And beer! And the employees are great!

Yelp
Regret, regret, REGRET stopping by Saturday afternoon. I was looking forward to enjoying some food after craving it for about a week. The cashier was soooo rude honestly I use to ALWAYS recommend this place to everyone, not no more.

p c.

Yelp
If there is no other place open within a mile and you are starving... You might want to keep going.. The food is not horrible, but for the money you don't get much. There are other places near that are a lot better, and cost less. I also find that the food is very greasy. I ordered a quesadilla and it was so oily that I was wiping it down with a paper napkin. A burrito was mostly beans and some rice, there was supposed to be meat but I really didn't see much. Plus it was almost $10.

Yelp
This location in particular is slow on a slow day. Took over 40 minutes to get food and our order was the only order they had at the moment and they were simple plates. The lady at the cash register kept getting distracted by her co workers and laughing and giggling and kept having me repeat myself until she decided she was just going to walk away to go to the back and send someone else to take my order. Wont be back to this location, but other locations i would definatly recomend.
google avatar

Christina Q.

Yelp
I used to love their ceviche but for some reason now a days it's been a hit or miss. For example last week the shrimp was still raw so we had to let it continue to "cook" in the lime juice overnight and had to eat something else for dinner. :( plus my husband and I have noticed the ceviche here tastes different than their other location. You'd assume they'd keep the same recipe considering it's the same restaurant. Their portion sizes are good and their prices are cheap which keeps me coming back. If you want REALLY good ceviche make the trip to Islas Maria's in Portland, it's worth it.

Jamie S.

Yelp
El Chino Taqueria is fabulous. They have fresh ingredients and quick service. I recommend their chicken enchiladas!

Yelp
Okay food but service isn't very good. No menu if not spanish speaking. Used to eat here every so often as really enjoyed the food service but no longer

Luis L.

Yelp
No avocado in a cocktail shrimp. And they say authentic Mexican food .never comeback 1 star and is a lot

Rigo G.

Yelp
Order a carna asada burrito for $7.75. Not very well done and full of rice and beans. Hardly any meat.. probably cost them $1 dollar to make. Definitely not recommend it.
