Truly amazing and unique gin and tonics! We went for happy hour on a Tuesday and were surprised to find the restaurant pretty empty, but enjoyed the almost private dining experience we had. Service was excellent and so were the cheese & meat board and dessert we ordered, but the star was the gin cocktails! We never had a bad drink, and between three of us we managed to sample most of the gin and tonics on the menu! I hope this place is around for a very long time because I will come back again and again for the gin drinks alone.

The gin and tonic program is outstanding! So many botanicals! And with a fully expressed citrus floor show just like in Spain plus smoke infusion which was super surprisingly yummy! And dramatic 😊🔫The food was amazing - especially the scallops, and presented like art. We loved the edgy modern nautical decor and also the warm and welcoming staff. Can’t wait to come back to my new favorite restaurant in Austin!

Wow. Just wow. Not sure what I was expecting but El Chipiron was fabulous. The food was delicious and the presentation was spectacular. The shrimp, the fish, the empanadas. All delish. We each enjoyed a specialty gin drink, and they were all good as well. Can't wait to go again!

This place is amazing. Just go - you will not be disappointed. Simple, fresh, local. One of the best meals I've had in Austin. My husband and i ordered the olives, patatas bravas, mussels with chorizo, gambas a la plancha, carne a la piedra, and, of course, the churros. Everything was well made and delicious. Great service in a beautiful restaurant space. I live pretty far north of here and it’s worth the drive.

My fiancée is from Barcelona and I've been numerous times so we know Spanish food. The food charcuterie plate was great but although the pulpo was tender we prefer it the traditional way. The Iberic Secret was tasty but the portion was so small. Found the prices expensive for what was offered. We had the Cumbersome and The Gypsy Gin and Tonics which were delicious. I preferred the drinks over the food.

Service was a bit shoddy, or better put the waiter was undereducated in the wine selection and differences in Spanish cuisine. I really liked the seafood paella and the huevos rotas. Great place to share dishes or go on a date night. Tuesday is paella night for 2 people you get a cheese board, appetizer, paella, and a dessert for 65.

To preface this: I was invited to attend the soft opening and tasted the brunch menu. This isn't the first soft opening I've attended and I've even worked at brand new restaurants for their soft openings, so I have some experience with how they go. The main take away I had from this experience was that the staff was very nice from the moment we walked in. The decor was also very nice inside and gave a nice modern restaurant feel. But the experience turned downward after we were seated. The brunch soft opening menu consisted of two items, a Poached Eggs dish and a French Toast dish. Both looked like they would be good options, so I decided to order the French Toast. Now maybe it's my own negligence for not informing myself before hand, but I honestly did not expect it to cost $25 for a meal of French Toast with no sides. You can see below in the pictures what was eventually served. Then they brought us a complementary plate of cheeses to taste that they expect to serve later, which was a very nice gesture, but it will be a paid menu item after opening. The food: I was served 3 slices of what looked to be some kind of french loaf cut at an angle and then dipped in egg, like how French Toast should be made. The problem came when 1 of the pieces came out completely underdone and soggy, with large portions of the other 2 pieces also soggy in some places. The dish had a few strawberries and raspberries scattered throughout but not enough in my opinion. There was no other topping as far as I could tell on top of the dish. So basically I just paid $25 for some soggy bread with $0.85 in fruit on top (and that's at Whole Foods produce prices). Conclusion: Overall, I felt like this place was a waste of my time and money. There are a dozen different breakfast places up and down South Lamar to choose from, including the delicious Kerbey Lane just 1 block away. I can't see how they will attract any customers considering how limited the parking is and how overprices the food is. I was just sent a sneak peak of the normal menu and it is about $50/ plate with 1 glass of wine included. I wish them the best of luck, but their food prices need to decrease by almost half.

The most authentic Spanish cuisine in Austin and its outstanding. I'm not a fan of Gin and Tonics but they make THE BEST I've ever tasted.
