⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for truly authentic Spanish food in Vienna, this place is an absolute gem. El Chipirón delivers the kind of classic Spanish dishes you rarely find outside Spain—Raquel’s traditional recipes taste like they come straight from a family kitchen. And then there are her “recomendaciones”: new, creative plates that show just how talented she is. Every visit feels like discovering something exciting and delicious. Max is the perfect host—you instantly feel welcomed, understood, and treated like a friend. He really knows what guests need. Definitely ask him for wine or cava suggestions. They have some truly unique bottles, including the incredible Pinot Noir cava from Jaume Giró i Giró. A warm atmosphere, amazing food, and exceptional cava… can’t recommend it enough! 🍷✨

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. The service was amazing. The food absolutely delightful. Strongly recommend the tortilla Español and the champiñones al ajillo.

The dining experience can be easily summed up with one word: sensationell!! We had two seats in front of the show kitchen and it was a great place to enjoy and see all the different tapas they are offering. The kitchen was very calm and it was a great enjoyment. Food was atomicccalllyyy delicious 😋- my favorite are the Gambas, but ever single dish was high level excellent food. Basic Spanish feel-good food with great quality and a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Staff was also very welcoming and we enjoyed our evening a lot. Absolute recommendation!!!

A very pleasant surprise! The service was super friendly and attentive from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and elegant, with classy décor that creates a relaxed yet upscale vibe. The food was of very good quality – everything we tried was fresh and well-prepared. The only small downside is that the menu is a bit limited, so I hope they expand it in the future. Still, definitely a place I’d come back to!

Lovely restaurant! The food was very nice and very Spanish. We particularly enjoyed their olive assortment, the very good (but expensive, 18€ for 3) ribs and a simple pan con tomate. We paid 112€ including 15€ tip for a very nice dinner! However please note: if you are seated in the back room (especially on the bar), the smell of fried food is quite intense as you are quite literally sitting in the open kitchen next to the fryers. (If this doesn’t bother you, you get to enjoy watching the cooks work) :)

We hadn't made a booking so we sat at the bar, but what a fabulous restaurant to discover on a short trip to Vienna. The food was just delectable and the service outstanding. We do love a good tapas bar, and this one most certainly impressed us enormously. An absolutely magnificent tortilla!

Finally delicious Spanish tapas in Vienna. The food was exceptionally tasty, well prepared and presented beautifully. The croquetas de chistorra y huevos fritos were out of this world. The staff was nothing but friendly and forthcoming. Will come again for sure.

We booked in advance for saturday night. Fairly busy when we arrived and got busier as we got our drinks. We got the olive mix as a starter, then we got our warm tapas in three rounds and had dessert. We recommend the fried calamari and gambas al ajillo (make sure to order some bread with them as the garlic and chilli infused oil is heavenly), the cheesecake is also a must (very surprising to have parmigiano on top as garnish!). Our last tapas were fried calamari and pimientos - we waited a bit for the pimientos to arrive with the calamari, and by the time they did we were stuffed and could not eat anymore (still had space for dessert, of course). Service is very kind and welcoming. As it was quite busy, we didn’t mind a bit of a wait between the dishes. At approx 50€ per person we were full and happy with everything :) Seeing sanitary products in the women’s toilet was also a big plus! We’ll definitely be back and recommend the place to our friends :)
