"Authentic Mexican This unassuming little restaurant in a small strip-mall in a commercial neighborhood consistently rates as a local favorite for both the Hispanic and Caucasian populations here. It’s no frills— your meal will be served on paper plates; they serve beer but no other alcohol— but service is quick and efficient. Serving lunch and dinner, El Chubbie’s (as locals call it due to the generous portions) specialties are the homemade salsa bar, the carnitas, tamales and street tacos. Park City is not zoned to allow food trucks—this is the closest you’ll get to those freshly concocted eats."

Echo Park’s Far Sunset Stretch Receives a Classy New Cocktail Bar | Eater LA

"For more than three decades it stood as a beacon for inexpensive pre-Dodger game drinks and late-night pours, but that all changed in August of last year when the bar's liquor license expired and the place quietly closed; it has since been taken over by the forthcoming Bar Henry." - Farley Elliott

Google
A friend recommended this little hidden gem, and I’m so glad they did! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The salsa selection was amazing — so many tasty options to try with each bite. It’s one of those true hole-in-the-wall spots that makes you feel like you discovered something special. Perfect place to grab a casual lunch with friends — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
The vibe is good, the food was really authentic and yummy, and the employees were really kind! Portions were big and there were a lot of self serve salsa options at the counter!!

Google
Excellent service! This is the best Mexican food in Park City. My favorite is the Camerones Diablo. Their fish tacos are great too, but their salsa bar is too die for. So many great sauces and pickled onions and carrots! Que bueno!

Selina D.

Google
Flavorful food ~ Friendly service team ~ Perfectly priced…Bonus ~ Hit the Hunger Spot! Highly recommend…dinning at the picnic table, vehicle or take home!

Google
We did takeout. The food was all really great. Loved the salsa bar selections. Our kids loved it too. There was something delicious for everybody. I recommend the steak/asada.

Google
These chicken fajitas are absolutely incredible! The chicken is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned with just the right blend of spices. The sizzling peppers and onions add that smoky aroma that makes your mouth water before the first bite. Served with fluffy rice and creamy refried beans, it’s a complete and satisfying meal. Every bite bursts with flavor and freshness, definitely one of the best fajita plates I’ve ever had!

Google
Yummy dishes and great service. Two people can easily share one plate. We were stuffed. Also the free chips and salsa were great. They have a free salsa bar and they have great choices. It's hard to find good salsas and this is the place. They got 4 stars a couple of reasons. The black beans need a little work. Too simple for my liking. Also, I got the wrong order and the waiter was set on saying the ticket said otherwise. He then realized he got confused and apologized so I give him that. The other, we didn't get a receipt and remember the total being under $70 but ended up getting a statement charge of $80. Not sure what happened but we don't have a way to fix it without the receipt.

Google
Good, fresh food with good service. We had a large group so service was a bit slow, but understandable. I had the vegetarian burrito. It was huge and good. The veggies needed to be sliced smaller and cooked longer though. Try all the salsas on their salsa bar. Great variety!

Yelp
I got the $10 sweet pork burrito and it was nothing to write home about. It tasted dry on the inside and was soaked in a flavorless red sauce on the outisde. The portions sizes are pretty standard for Mexican. They have a chips and salsa bar and it is great. Around 15 different salsas and dipping sauces. To name just a few 1) Pico de Gallo 2) Salsa Habanero 3) Escabeche 4) Pickled Jalapenos The music is great great great upbeat Mexcian pop songs. The service was really nice and the place was overall clean. A funny vibe for a Mexican restaurant because of the skiing town.

Yelp
We had such a nice dinner at El Chubasco. The kids meal burrito and quesadillas were pretty big for a kids meal. We also split the shrimp fajitas. It comes with a lot of peppers and onions, and 12 shrimp, and 4 tortillas. Our favorite is the unlimited chips and the salsa bar. The staff are great, and it is a cute place with a lot of tables either for 1 or 2, or tables together for 6 or 8.

Yelp
If you are looking for a southwestern style menu with affordable, delicious and more than ample servings, you must visit El Chubasco. We received several recommendations from locals and a few visitors, too. So we gave them a try and very glad we did. We had two burritos and both were very scrumptious, filled with loads of vegetables and chicken. They were HUGE! Stuffed till nearly bursting. While you wait for your order you must go to the salsa bar, selecting what you want to have with your food. Go give them a visit. You will leave FULL and satisfied. Happy you went to El Chubasco.

Yelp
Food not as good as it used to be, the enchilada wasn't the best I've had, savory but very salty. Fish tacos were good, lots of cabbage and the fish was fried . Would have preferred fish was baked. The Chili Relleno was a good portion and firm not mushy. Good taste. The table next to us had two teenage boys enjoying their paid for meal. A plate of nachos was delivered to their table and they started enjoying it with the rest of their food. The table next to them was an older couple who appeared to just be waiting for their food. The man went inside and came out with a woman who started yelling at the boys in English and Spanish about how they took the older couples nachos. It was handled very unprofessionally and the boys were embarrassed. The staff had made the mistake and should have eaten that cost. The waitress took their nachos and handed them boxes. They packed up and left. The older couple received nachos too. Everyone there was uncomfortable after the weird interaction. Disappointing.

Yelp
Ordered the beef fajitas. Came w rice beans refried or black beans and guacamole. Came out on a sizzling iron plate. Looked fabulous, however the meat was chewy and tough. It is a clean place, nice salsa bar which was my favorite part of the meal. The service was quick and friendly

Yelp
Packed on a Sunday at Noon, listening to James Hype, and the vibes were immaculate. Their Mexican style asada tacos were delicious, their chile relleno was perfect, and the selection at the salsa bar was fantastic. Everyone in the restaurant was super friendly too. Awesome lunch!

Yelp
The frajitas were dry and flavorless , we had to fight off the flies for our food . Won't be back

Yelp
Solid Mexican fare! Burritos are massive a delicious. I had the regular Mexican burrito with asada - super tasty. May try it wet next time. Son had the California burrito - also good, but I preferred the Mexican. Wife had the asada quesadilla - excellent. Fantastic salsa bar and complementary tortilla chips as a starter! It's cold in there during the winter with all the customers coming and going - dress accordingly.

Yelp
You had me at salsa bar... I'd forgotten about this unassuming and hidden gem located in a small strip mall here in Park City. Thankfully, my wife reminded me of the delicious food and sauce options. We came in here on a Friday night and we ended up sitting next to another couple. There is maybe enough room for 30-35 patrons to sit comfortably, so if you're okay sharing a table with someone, go for it. I got the veggie burrito which is filled with black beans, pico, cheese, peppers and onions. It comes topped with sour cream, cilantro, and guacamole (you can add sauce too). I opted for the red sauce. I also got a side of chips so I could try out the many different salsa options. The burrito was delicious and easily enough for two meals. My favorite sauces were the spicy Serrano frito and tomatillo y arbol. To tame down the heat between bites, I also loved the verde smother. My wife got some steak quesadillas (also enough for two meals) and she was able to find some sauces she liked that contained lesser heat. Prices for the area are very reasonable and this place is so laid back and unpretentious. You simply can't go wrong if you're looking to spice up your night with some tasty Mexican food.

Yelp
We stopped here to get a burrito to go to take on the plane tomorrow and while we waited, my daughter got a chicken quesadilla off the kids menu and we shared the kids nachos, friendly service, decent size portions. Would recommend!

Yelp
Amazing, authentic Mexican food highly recommended, great taste, great price, great service wonderful staff

Yelp
It's quiet now in town, Chubasco Mexican still has his regulas, came again to enjoy the delicious food and variety of salsas. I always recommend this place. Very affordable.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid Mexican food and outstanding salsa bar. During peak dining time, be prepared to queue in line and wait awhile for the food.

Yelp
Went here for Mexican takeout in Park City. Absolutely tasty back "home", but the highlight was the dipping bar, where you could grab condiments. They had tons of choices! Two of us were there, and we grabbed about six each. With a big one for salsa, and one for green chile sauce, but there were so many to try. Once back at the ranch, we poured a bit on each mexican dish, and of the twelve, only two did not get finished (nothing wrong, just not to our tastes). Absolutely great food, and great fun with the condiment tastes!

Trent B.

Yelp
Been gone from PC a few years and WOW this place is so sad. Camarones a la diabla was my favorite. They cooked them in aceite de árbol now just a tomato sauce with red pepper flakes and half the shrimp. Came back to see if shrimp tacos would be better... $12.50 for two shrimp tacos with 3 small shrimp in each. That's $2 per shrimp Que chistoso! Enserio as muy triste. En Kamas a Kings Tacos compró un taco de camarón con 6-8 camarones por $3. Pudo usar el otro tortilla y hacer dos tacos rellenos con buena salsa y sabor. Lástima que uno de my lugares favoritos nunca volvería.

Yelp
Went here twice while we were around. For the good food and cheaper prices compared to everything else in the area. Delicious. Fajitas were awesome! Love the salsa bar the most though.
google avatar

Dipesh D.

Yelp
For vegetarians, this place is incredible. We ordered vegetarian tacos American style and we loved it. They have awesome sauces here to try like Mango & cilantro. Must try for vegetarians!!!

Yelp
Best deal in Park City? We went for a late summer meal and were able to sit outside and enjoy the setting sun. I had the chicken fajitas which were so good! They were served hot and fresh! The flour tortillas, cilantro rice and black beans that came along side the sizzling plate were also fresh and delicious. Even though it is counter service, the staff was friendly and brought the food to our outdoor table. My favorite thing was the salsa bar with so many choices of all spice levels. All this for less than $15!
google avatar

Cameron S.

Yelp
I'd say this is the best Mexican food in Park City. Love the salsa bar too. Would recommend.
google avatar

Abigail W.

Yelp
Cute little Mexican place that my family enjoys because of the fun salsa options. Food came out quick and the ladies at the counter were friendly. The food was a little dry.

Josh W.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and friendly service, but the food just wasn't good. The fish taco lacked flavor and substance not to mention over cooked and greasy. The carne asada also lacked flavor. Even the salsa bar was disappointing. Not trying to be rude, just honest. I really hope the food improves, because the place has potential.
google avatar

Yelp
A hole in the wall mall stop that has been there for decades. As far from mainstream americanized mexican food that you can expect in Park City. And that is far. For example, one of the soups was menudo (of you can stomach it). The enchiladas with (brown) mole shone in the light of the excellent sauce--definitely a recommended dish. The bar of sauces: one of its long-standing highlights--6 to 7 different sauces to spoon into coverable (and covetable) containers for your table or to go. Skip the mexican burrito with carne asada. A wrapped dud of beef and rice and little or nothing else-- so dar out of character, that I would have ranked it a 1-2 star. Stick to the winners, and there are many. And prices are far from resort-standard. Affordable and good. Repeat eater.

Yelp
I know this is Utah, it's decent for Utah I guess... All the sauces are good, I tried Asada and pastor tacos, they are not bad, tequitos weren't good, my friend and I were sharing this shrimp in red sauce, I wasn't a fan so I didn't eat it, the best thing was beans and guacamole taco that my friend made... I'm from California so it's hard to please Californias when it comes to Mexican food...

Yesid A.

Yelp
Very delicious food, great service and a large and quite varied menu. I loved the "Camarones Primavera" perfectly prepared and the exquisite sauce. Awesome "Tinga de Pollo" I will definitely return.
google avatar

Jordan D.

Yelp
I want so bad to give this place 5 stars - the food really deserves it. But unfortunately they were out of all alcohol except beer (and I was really looking forward to that margarita!) and out of steak (really looking forward to those steak fajitas too!!). The salsa bar was such a cool little perk, but I'm pretty sure someone threw up in trash can next to the bar so the whole thing reeked. Kind of ruined the whole experience and required us to move tables mid meal (the stench was killin the apetito). So much potential just felt like and off day there. The food I did get was 10/10

Marie K.

Yelp
Wanting to start off by saying how expensive it is for what you get. I got the enchiladas and you only get two small ones. There was 3 dried out chicken pieces in each one. The lettuce was not like normal lettuce but similar to a cabbage texture. The salsa bar did not have a red salsa which was disappointing.

Plate W.

Yelp
Terrible service. One person handling Saturday rush. The one thing that is CRAZY is the portion of guacamole for $7.99. Caviar is cheaper
google avatar

Jan L.

Yelp
Great Mexican food. I had it as take out. The sauces which come with the meal make the taste amazing. Next time I will try dining in as I always find food better in house than once it's taken out. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

David

Yelp
Great service, and amazing fresh salsa selection. Food was great. Carnitas were tasty.

Amanda P.

Yelp
This is a must stop in Park City. Off the main drag, but the food is excellent. The salsa bar is really fun. There was a small area to eat, but it was busy!
google avatar

Bryan A.

Yelp
Really flavorful food! Great beans and rice, but the carnitas stole the show. Pretty quick service with a smile. Recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Salsa Edition Serrano 3.5 flavor 4, heat 3.5 weak side. Like a jalapeño but a little less bite Arbol 2.5. Nice heat but too smoky (ash in the salsa) Mango and Manzano - 4. First hits really sweet then the spice comes. Nice hot. Habanero 4.7. Just raw so not awesome on chips but perfect on food. Definitely feel it and it builds like a pepper should. Ranchero - 1.5. No heat and burnt flavor. Also got nachos - 3.5 queso (American queso, think Chipotle's queso) 3.5, chips - 4, beans - 5, salsa fresco 4 good amount not too soggy.

Yelp
Our favorite Mexican food spot up in Park City! Okay guys, this place is AMAZING. Our favorite thing to do is the "Choose 2" or "Choose 3" plate. It makes it so you can get a little bit of everything! You can choose between an enchilada, tamale, or taco. Some of our favorites are the cheese or chicken enchilada, the carne asada taco, and the pork tamale!! Every plate comes with a free side of chips and they also have a salsa bar with many different spice levels and flavors. Our favorite is the cilantro ranch and the mango habanero. Now in coronavirus, they have individually packaged salsas for each customer. El Chubasco can also be found at the JAZZ arena! It's a must whenever we go to a game there! Lastly, you can't go wrong with a side of queso and a horchata...!

Ian W.

Yelp
el chubasco is cafeteria style so I selected no tip with my credit card. a week later my credit card statement shows they added 18% anyway. totally illegal and the food was no good. avoid this place!

Antonio M.

Yelp
Wow si vale la pena! Super Chubasco mis amores delighted food. The large portions are the definition of CHUBASCO!!!
google avatar

Dirk C.

Yelp
I waited 30 minutes for my order when they told me it would be 5 and it was burnt very bad to the point were it was uneatable

Mr. Stu P.

Yelp
Monster burrito for $13. Worth it. Tasty carnitas except for the hunks of fat they don't take out. A bit on the "safe" side in terms of flavor profile, probably so as not to offend any Mormons.
google avatar

Ezwan A.

Yelp
Awesome food. Fast service. Definitely will keep on coming. Good parking and easily accessible. Can be crowded at time during lunch time
google avatar

Bonnie G.

Yelp
This looks good but yeesh! The meal was so bad that I had to go next door to Israeli spot Nosh, and thank goodness I did - it was delicious! The tacos are full of very dry, low-quality meats (the al pastor had an odd taste), and even the corn tacos themselves were basic, grocery-store quality. Skip this and get the incredible buttermilk chicken next door at Nosh and the big, fat lobster roll nearby at Freshies.
google avatar

Tara C.

Yelp
Amazing food in generous portions. I picked a combo plate with two items, my husband had a big Mexican style burrito. The food was EXACTLY what I wanted in a Mexican restaurant. All the flavors and textures were spot on. We also tried multiple salsas from their salsa bar and enjoyed them all. Cannot wait for an opportunity to come back again!

John W.

Yelp
Average at best. You order at the counter and receive a small basket of bland chips. The chicken nachos were a mound of chips, too much cheese, some beans and little chicken. The house margaritas were sour.
google avatar

Austin C.

Yelp
this is my favorite Mexican food in Park City. massive scrumptious burritos and epic salsa bar. yummy yummy
google avatar

Marissa V.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican food with a spectacular self-serve salsa bar. Food (3/5 Stars): A variety of authentic Mexican food ranging from burritos to street tacos and fajitas (served with rice and beans). You can choose to "smother" any burrito in salsa, melted cheese, or crema - a little messy but did not disappoint. They are famously known for their salsa bar featuring delicious sauce options such as Cilantro Crema and Verde Smother. I recommend ending your meal with one of their fresh churros. Drink (3/5 Stars): Small selection of Mexican beers. They also sell homemade Horchata. Service (4/5 Stars): Very fast and friendly service. No formal waiter service (you order at the front and bring your food to the table). Atmosphere (3/5 Stars): Quiet "hole in the wall" spot a few streets down from Main Street. Casual atmosphere with plenty of indoor seating.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
This is an awesome restaurant. Had the Taco Salad and just look at how big it is...Really Big! Horchata was made perfectly and the salsa selections were amazing -especially the Pico De Gallo and the Cilantro Crema. Go here ready to eat!
google avatar

Joe K.

Yelp
Very good and authentic Mexican food. Kind staff. There is a salad bar with tons of great salsas for free. Though I wish things like extra sour cream was there too

Kip R.

Yelp
Delicious enchiladas with beans, rice and cabbage on top! Will be making a return trip soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, poor service. Okay ambiance. We had the enchiladas, tamales, and taquitos. All outstanding. All reasonably priced. Service was poor but the value here is great!

Yelp
Fresh, lively, delicious. You may have a bit of a wait, but it'll be worth it. Ample parking in the strip mall lot and plenty of options for the adventurous, the unadventurous, kids, vegetarians, and so on.

Yelp
I grew up here- this place has been here as long as I can remember. I would argue this is one of the best restaurants in all of park city. Amazing for after ski meals Salsa bar is delicious- prices are unbeatable- services is amazing- the quality of the food is excellent . Do yourself a favor and eat at el chubasco
