We stayed at El Diablo y la Sandia (Libres) in early July and every single person on their staff was friendly and kind. It was our first visit to Oaxaca and someone was there or available by email anytime we had a question or need directions. From making the reservation to getting us back to the airport they took good care of us every step. Fernando even made us herbal tea when we weren't feeling great.||We stayed in the upstairs room and enjoyed resting on the patio in the afternoons (It is available to all guests) often waiting out the delightful and usually brief rain showers. The breakfasts were delicious and made with love. The portions are not huge, which was perfect for me. My husband could have eaten a bit more, but with all the great food in town we were eating all day anyway. The hotel has all sorts of extras available to borrow, umbrellas, bags, hats, sunscreen and bug spray. We brought our own, but having back up was great.||The hotel is close to everything, we like to walk and found Oaxaca a very walkable city. The Centro is a busy downtown area and it can be very loud due to the way the buildings are built. We loved our room, but it might have been a bit quieter on the ground floor? We’ll have to come back to find out!
