Amazing atmosphere, fantastic staff, and phenomenal food! They also have the most beautiful amethyst wall clock i have ever seen.

My family and I stopped here on our way home to Illinois. The service and food was incredible. All the employees are kind and they are very good at their jobs. Even the owner of the restaurant stopped by our table and held a wonderful conversation with us. You can tell when someone loves what they do, and this was very evident at El Dorado!

Years back I put a negative review cause I was disappointed with the breakfast tacos and the quality of the food. Well here we are giving a 5 star review on some amazing tacos! Got the bacon egg and cheese taco this morning that were really big and super good! They credit card system didn’t work so I went back in the afternoon to pay and ordered a mojellas and cheese taco and I was so shocked on how good it was! The cooks in the back needs a raise cause I went from not coming for a few years to wanting to come everyday!

A very wonderful place for breakfast! The smiling, friendly service was gentle on a headache. Rosa was a good waitress and very friendly and warm. I had huevos rancheros, it hit the spot.

The Spanish omelette and blended coffee is sooooo delicious. It’s rare I really like anything from any Mexican restaurants here in town. But this and the coffee are amazing I had to give a review!

The tortillas were very good here. The rest of the food was also delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The waitress was also very attentive. She kept the chips and drinks filled. The portions are also very generous, so you will probably take some for another meal. The restaurant was also very clean and the food came out quickly even though we had a large party. Parking in front was also adequate.

Incredible meal! Our server, Rachel, was amazing. She explained every dish so well and even gave us tips on pairing drinks with our meal. She made the whole experience feel personal. Highly recommend!

Do not waste your money on this place!! Food was disgusting beyond belief! The guacamole was the only good thing. Rice was old, beans were canned, shrimp wasn't fresh and tasted like tap water, "fish tacos" were frozen fish sticks in a tortilla with thousand Island dressing. That dressing does NOT go on fish tacos. Couldn't even finish my food from how gross it was.

Not a lot in Kingsville and I wasn't impressed. Not a lot to say about food, but service, wait staff and manager were wonderful and place was busy. It was just a small place that apparently does well.

Excellent fajitas pablano! Some of the best I have ever had. Chips are really don't eat to many or you won't be able to enjoy your rest of food!

Giving it 4 stats based upon reasonable price. The dood is good and margaritas are B+ especially for the price. Had the steak for the second time and espousa had shrimp poblano. Both are recommended. Service has always been good.

My 1st time here and Ohhh YES I WILL be BACK. Todays adventure was a solo trip but it was great so I definitely will have to return and bring Wifey next time. The Breakdown: The portions are seriously Texas Size HUGE here. I would recommend splitting a meal with 2 adults unless you want to take a doggy bag home with you or you are a professional competitive eater. My waitress said that the Poblano Fajitas Fajitas are the best thing on the menu, so I took her recommendation. She definitely was NOT lying, it came out sizzling in a cast iron and at 1st sight I was impressed. I opted the Flour Tortillas and Chicken & Steak mixed combination. I liked the chicken and steak equally so I think I made the right call. The flour tortillas were huge, hot, fluffy, and delicious so I'm very happy with my pick. Everything was really great but the salsa that comes with the dish was the real star of this show. Straight incredible, I think I could have drank a few large glasses of it. Yeah it was that good. I went solo so I have another full size meal to warm up later tonight or tomorrow. Shoutouts to my waitress (sorry I didn't catch your name) and hats off to the chef. Keep doing your thing guys the food and experience were both great. I hope to see you both again soon. You rock.

Excellent food! Our waiter was very courteous and attentive. I had my doubts before I walked in I can't lie, but don't let look fool you this place has excellent food made with care.

Delicious! Best food I've tried in Kingsville. I had the beef fajita burrito plate and couldn't eat it all. (I really tried too) The food was fresh and delicious. The portions were generous especially at such a reasonable price! The guacamole wasn't watered down, the lettuce and tomatoes were crisp and fresh. Nothing tasted canned or reheated. The restaurant was very clean, the staff were friendly and well dressed. I am so glad we stumbled on this hidden gem today. We will be back!

Another awesome experience. Had the crunchy chicken taco plate.....again, 5 star. Was there after lunch, restaurant only a quarter full. That said the service was fast fast fast. I only had like three or four complimentary chips and BAM, there was my lunch. To be fair I guess I need to try other Mexican restaurants in the area recommended by other yelpers. Check them out, hope your experience was as good as mine.

OMG!! I had the fajitas poblano and it was full of wonderful flavors! I wish I lived closer to this place, I would be here all the time! The salsa was full of flavor as well! This small place was definitely worth the stop! The service was spot on. The entire restaurant was very clean. The wait staff was quick and on top of everything. My tummy is beyond full of greatness!

The food was about average for the area. I had chicken enchiladas and my Mom had the lunch special (calabasa). The flour tortillas were rubbery and salty. It was annoying that they upcharge everything including substitutions and to-go cups (69 cents). You could def find worse places though.

Stopped by with my family and was immediately served and taken care of. The food came out lightning fast and was very hot and fresh. My drink was never empty and the staff is friendly and caring. Overall felt welcome and comfortable along with the great food.

This is not a bad place at all to come and eat. Of coarse they have the daily specials and so much more Mexican food to offer. The place seemed like they did not have many people working but needless to say our order was brought out in a timely manner. The complimentary chips with salsa and cheese dip was a nice treat to start of your meal. A real laid back atmosphere and the usual clientele seemed to fill the room.

It's a roller coaster ride with this place these days. I've had weird days where particular waitresses are so rude and unnattentive. I won't call them out because they probably need their job to get their nails did or whatever. I am learning who the good, hard workers are for sure. I appreciate them, love to show it by a hefty tip. Some of the male wait staff can be super attentive, they'll go out of the way and make that coffee after 12pm. They are informative on the menu as well. My last visit was good, food also good. That's why I did not drop the rating to a 1 star. I may start coming back if these guys are working. I stopped coming for a while since my last two experiences turned me off. I saw the rude individual using the broom to sweep the floor and then seats. Sweeping next to a table where people are eating is also unsanitary when you crap flying everywhere. The staff was very neglectful. The Migas need improvement...

Awesome service, wonderful staff...My husband and I absolutely love eating here! For as many Mexican restaurants as there are in this town, this is hands-down our favorite and we are never hesitant to recommend it to friends of ours who are passing through town and it is become their favorite as well. I would love to say that a lot of the praise I am giving right now goes directly towards the management and especially the exceptional staff, who, without them El Dorado would just be another Mexican restaurant, but they make El Dorado the place people want to go. Keep up the good work and we will always keep coming back!!!

Food was excellent. Service was fast and friendly! I had the chicken fajita omelette with homemade tortillas. Great little diner!

We were looking for good food while visiting the area. Not necessarily Tex Mex. I have to say we chose El Dorado based on the yelp reviews. The chips were ordinary and not really all that! Less than ordinary! I said to myself oh no we screwed up! But that is where it ended! We ordered the beef fajitas poblano and the El Dorado platter which was a combo of chicken and shrimp! They were some of the very best fajitas ever!!! Beyond tender and tasty. We have paid twice as much for half the amount and not even close taste wise. The other dish was also delicious! The service was great and the food came out steaming and sizzling! Generous portions at very reasonable prices with good service. What more can you ask?

We love this restaurant. All the personnel are friendly and the service is great. Everything on the menu is fantastic but my favorite is the shredded chicken quesadilla.

Pretty good food for a small town, no complaints. One of the better places to sit and eat during the COVID-19 outbreak.

This place was really good and the service was excellent. A group of us tried it on our way to Houston and was pleasantly surprised. I had the quesadillas and my friends tried the enchiladas everyone agreed everything was delicious. Im not a fan of Mexican food but I would come back here and try something else. I would recommend!

Not from this area, but overall some of the best salsa I've had from Texas. Great service and very friendly staff. Everybody's as a mask but I'm sure all of them are smiling.

My family of four truly enjoyed our early supper at El Dorado on our way back home from the beach. Service was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Food was fresh, authentic and fast! Thanks El Dorado! We will be back next time we make it back down this way :-)

Friendly incredible service. The guys could t have been more attentive and excited to have a customer. But, the Food leaves little to be desired. I'm realizing more and more that Texas 'Mexican' food is all the same across the state-just banal.

I have had several occasions to eat here. I have eaten the enchiladas, fajita tacos and other dishes. The best dinner to order is the Mini Street Tacos. 5 small corn tortillas loaded with fajita meat, onions and celantro. The charro beans come in a small flour tortilla bowl, the bowl taste good as well. I will definitely continue to eat here.

While on our little adventure to Corpus to take the grandson to the Texas State Aquarium we went a little further South to Kingsville. We got our room for the night and went to find a bite to eat. We picked a little place that had plenty of cars out front called El Dorado Mexican Food. The salsa they brought to the table with choirs was really good! I ordered a plate of fajitas covered in cheese with Poblano peppers called Fajitas Poblano. My wife opted for the more traditional cheese enchaladas. My Fajitas came with Baracho Beans that were out of this world and also some rice, pico, and flour tortillas. It was really good!! My wife said her enchaladas were really good too! Wee had enough food that we shared what we hag with the grandson as he can be a picky eater, but he loves rice and beans! As for drinks I had tea and my wife and grandson had Rootbeer. The food and atmosphere here was really nice and the wait staff very friendly and accomadating. I would recommend them if your ever in the Kingsville area and are in need of a great Mexican food fix!!!

What everyone else said! Great food, service and plenty of area to walk the dog and park the rig on the road. Vegetarian options are delicious!

This place has the best mexi food in town!!! Love the food every time my husband and I go. Definitely give this place a try when your in Kingsville. You won't be disappointed. The only negatives is they don't offer any dessert.. and recently it's been so cold in the restaurant its been unbearable to sit in there and eat. Would like to see those little changes if possible. We will still be coming back though even if we order Togo.

What a fantastic restaurant! The food is consistently good and the waiters are always prompt and very helpful. My favorite meal is the el Dorado, which is a chicken breast with cheese overtop some grilled onions and green bell peppers. It is also served with charro beans, guacamole, rice, and a lettuce salad. It is delicious!! It also comes with 5 or 6 grilled shrimp. The flour tortillas are light and fluffy. As like many of the other meals at el Dorado, you could get two meals out of one. The fajitas and enchiladas are also delicious, as well as the mini tacos. You cannot go wrong with any of the food at el Dorado.

We searched on yelp for the best Mexican restaurant in Kingsville on our way back from SPI and found this place with 4 stars. It has been remodeled since the pictures here were posted and now has a much nicer exterior and is very clean and well managed. The food here is amazing. Ah-mazing! Everything you'd expect from a near the border restaurant in Texas. The service was equally great and fast. We will definitely be back. I had a margarita (since I wasn't the one driving-yay for me). It was tasty and big but wasn't that strong. May want to ask for a double if you like yours stout. Again, great place. Go!

Generic Tex Mex food. Service is ok, atmosphere is ok, that's about all there is to say about this place. It's good and the prices are really good.

After a series or random events on a road trip to SPI my friend and I stumbled upon this place starving and devastated that we couldn't find a chik-fil-a (I know basic). We were blown away at how good the food was and cheap! The beans might be the best refried beans I have ever had in my life. The service was good and food came out quickly. We contemplated taking a detour on the way home so we could eat it again!

We found this place on our annual trek to Port Isabel last year; just finished lunch here...every bit as good as last time. I'm not sure how to classify this Mexican food. It's got classic Tex-Mex influences, but with an authentic Mexican twist. It's not an upscale place, but is very clean with friendly staff. And, in the way that good Chinese restaurants attract Chinese folks, the local Mexican folks are staunch patrons here. We had no problem ordering en Ingles. :) Like most Mexican places, you are served corn tortilla chips when seated. Here, in addition to a good (hot) hot sauce, they bring a small dish of chile con queso. Don't judge the food by this queso - it's reminiscent of canned cheese sauce with chiles - the weakest part of the meal, but not enough to knock them down to four stars. My wife had the Texas plate #9, which was awesome. The carne guisada was about the best beef stew she'd ever had, and had chunks of carrots and potatoes. The rest of the plate was solid, including a very nice guacamole and killer flour tortillas. I had the Mexican plate #18, which was very good too. The enchiladas were perfect, the taco was tasty and crunchy. The rice was excellent on both our plates. I opted for the charro instead of refried beans, which is something Highly recommend - and is what stood out in my mind from the previous visit. They're perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of salt and bacon. YUM.

The food seems to be pretty good and made on order. The burrito tends to be well worth the money and can likely feed two people. The staff does speak english but don't be surprised if the waitress only speeks Spanish. The facility is clean and smoke free. There is a drive-up window where you can place and pick-up your order. It is better if the order is called in before you arrive.

i orders from el dorado tonight it was horrible. i ordered 3 plates enchilades there no sauce on the plates....a lot on onions we had to pick the onions....HORRIBLE we wont go back there for a long time.... H O R R I B L E

We asked if we could get one not so burned, and the waiter came back saying the cook said they would all come out like that. Not sure we will make it back here

Good service. Tacos were full but egg was so burnt and overcooked. Had to send it back and it was redone. Tortillas were rubbery and coffee was subpar. Will not be returning.

Tired on the road getting late and we needed to eat. My wife says this place has the best rating in the Kingsville area. So we stopped. So glad we did. Nice friendly staff, with a home town vib. Ordered some traditional Mexican dishes and was not at all disappointed. All was well prepared and simple. The bonus was seeing 2 of the wait staff sing happy birthday to a patron in Spanish. Worth the stop simple food at a great price and friendly staff.
