The 18 Best Restaurants & Hotels In Healdsburg - The Infatuation

"This local favorite has been serving up food from Oaxaca and Jalisco for more than 40 years. The interior is spacious with a central bar and a small handful of seats, but you should sit on their excellent patio when the weather is great (which is almost always in Healdsburg). Don’t miss their mole oaxaqueño, a rich chile-chocolate sauce incorporating more than 20 ingredients, that’s especially delicious heaped on top of carnitas. Wash it down Oaxaca-style with a mezcal-passionfruit cocktail, or try a hibiscus-tequila cocktail for a taste of Jalisco." - Allison Green

We were greatly looking forward to this restaurant based on the online reviews and recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere is really cool, is authentic and rustic with lots of traditional Mexican food. Overall, the food is excellent, however, we had a very bad experience with the Molcajete dish we ordered. The waiter told us the dish is mild. This could not have been further from the truth. It was extremely spicy and we continuously sweated while eating it. We do enjoy relatively spicy Mexican food, however, this dish was way too hot for us. Also, it was extremely salty and very fatty. In particular, the beef had hunks of fat on it. Both my wife and I felt sick until the next morning which we suspect was due to the high fat and salt content of the dish. We did tell the waiter the dish was not mild like he said, but instead very spicy. However, he did not provide much of a response. He also did not make the situation right for us. However, we ordered the Molé with pork and it was excellent. Chips and salsa were also excellent.

The food was really good. Cant say enough good things about the guy waiting on our table. Total nice guy, even joked around with us. My wife and I have been here a few time and have yet to be disappointed. If I have one complaint is that the music is a little loud inside and makes it just a little hard to have a conversation. Other than that, this place is great. Come on down, im sure you like it.

I absolutely love this spot! I use to work near here and would get it at least once a week. Now that I live in San Francisco, any time I’m up this way I always stop in! The food, service, cleanliness, it’s all 10/10!

Incredibly tasty barbacoa tacos, guac, margaritas and cold beer! Would definitely recommend for lunch, dinner or to start off a night out!

Nice outdoor setup on a closed down street, under a tent with heat lamps. Good carne asada burrito, tasty paloma. Just what we needed after a morning wine tasting!

Nice little restaurant. We discovered this small restaurant after a wine tasting tour in the city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Good service, tasty food. Especially the ceviche!

Awesome place for high quality Mexican food. Best carnitas tacos ever, comes w a side of chips & salsa. During covid times, they also have a great little outdoor area for eating. It's one of my most favorite places to eat in Healdsburg. Fresh horchata is also the bomb.

Man, this place used to be IT. Now it is sadly not. Not if you are going for food, anyway. If you are going for margs and chips and salsa, heck yes, go for it. Best margaritas in town (though at a price). BEST chips and salsa in town (on the house if you are having food or drink). The food used to be great and perfectly priced. Now it is more expensive for smaller portions (taking home leftovers is a real thing, people!) and changes to ingredients have made the dishes I used to love so much not so great. Sigh. Guess I'll just order more margaritas!
