A historic cafe, where Hemingway spent his time. Inside there is also a sculpture of him at the bar. The first Daiquiri was also made here. And at the same time, it's the best I've tried, I recommend Floridita Daiquiri. They are expensive because this is a sure tourist place, where every tourist will come to visit.

Such a beautiful restaurant and drinks were amazing. Great live music and profession and good service. Just don't expect soap in the washrooms.

Hemingways Bar. Home of the Daiquiri. History brings the hype. But that's where the charm ends. The love music is pretty good though. The band is talented. Th food and cocktails are alright. They are pricey because they know every tourist visiting Cuba will come here.

I had a great time at El Floridita. I enjoyed a strawberry daiquiri, Floridita (original) daiquiri and a Hemingway daiquiri, alongside some croquettes. The live band were fabulous and kept me entertained for the hour I spent in the bar. The only reason I do not give 5* is because I was shortchanged $10 when provided my change (and according to the bill they provided in dollars). I’d planned to leave a $10 tip between the waitress and band but unfortunately many establishments (this one it would seem included) seem to feel the need to try ensure they secure such money - which given the economic reality of Cuba I am sympathetic too even if it is frustrating as a customer. I would still recommend everyone to visit - it is a Havana landmark and the drinks and atmosphere most excellent.

El Floridita – A Must-Visit in Havana (Even If It’s Not My Favorite!) If you’re in Havana, you have to visit El Floridita—it’s practically a rite of passage. While it might not be my personal favorite spot, there’s no denying its historical charm and legendary status. This is the birthplace of the daiquiri, and if that’s not reason enough to stop by, the connection to Ernest Hemingway certainly is. You’ll even find a bronze statue of him at the bar, forever sipping his favorite drink. The place is always buzzing, packed with tourists eager to experience a slice of Cuban cocktail history. The bartenders are pros, mixing up icy, perfectly balanced daiquiris that really do live up to the hype. The red-and-gold interior has an old-school elegance that transports you to another era, and the live music adds to the lively atmosphere. Yes, it can be crowded and a bit pricey compared to other bars in Havana, but El Floridita is more than just a bar—it’s an experience. So grab a daiquiri, soak in the history, and enjoy the moment!

What wonderful late night experience with Latin Jazz and Salsa played by a band. I will return every time I am in Havana.
