El Garito

The best birthday we could have wished for!! Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole team at El Garito! My twin and I celebrated our 30th here and they pulled out all the stops to make the day a fantastic celebration. Things really aren’t easy at the moment with constant changing regulations and rules surrounding Covid however El Garito communicated clearly and frequently during the build up to the day making conscientious changes as necessary. With that said they still managed to organise a DJ, a street food vendor and our own booked seating area. They also provide some excellent drink deals and were incredible attentive on the day making sure everyone was happy! Everyone had a fantastic day and many guest also shared how great the venue was. I couldn’t recommend El Garito enough. Be sure to stop by for a drink or a party,there is always a great atmosphere. Thanks again!!

I had my 30th at El Garito a few weeks ago and it was ACE! The staff + owners are amazing - they are super warm, fun, knowledgeable and professional. The drinks and nibbles (including the birthday custom ones) were a hit all night and everyone loved the atmosphere. The place is so cosy and so very special. I'm forever grateful for the energy they put behind making El Garito a Hackney gem.

Roy is a magician at making cocktails, anything you like he can create! Roy makes cocktails inspired by famous Spanish artists such as Dali and Picasso. They are incredible. He along with Marco helped me celebrate my 40th birthday in style. Highly recommended go and and visit them near Hackney Down park at El Garito!

I've been here a few times now and always staff have been great and cocktails have been excellent. The cocktails rival some of London's Top bars like 69 Colebrook Rowe, Zetter town house and Dandelyn. I also hosted a birthday party here and it was a perfect venue. One of London's hidden gems.

Private hired El Garito for my 25th and it was absolutely great! Staff was super helpful in organising, the drinks + small plates were delicious and the set up was cool. Would definitely go check it out!

I walk through the Hackney downs studios on my way home and today I have probably experienced one of the most violent and repulsive examples of gentrification in the decade that I’ve lived here. Today while walking home I saw lots of affluent white people with their children who probably have jobs in corporate fields of ‘creativity’ (one was white and had dreadlocks) siting around while a band of black men performed jazz for them outside this bar. I felt as if I was in a time warp and now feel totally depressed. This is not progressive society. This is racist gentrification and segregation disguised as hipster affluence.

I had the wonderful chance to organise a private event at El Garito with my organisation, ValenciansUK, earlier this October. Arnau and his team were wonderful all along the process, accommodating all of our needs. They make you feel part of their family as soon as you step in. The event was a success thanks to them and I would not doubt to repeat the experience with them! P.S.: If you haven't been to El Garito yet, I highly recommend to sneak into their cosy bar one evening for a drink ;)

Great place to have a drink, perfect for groups of friends but also dates. Easy to get to, the staff is wonderful, good selection of tapas and great cocktails.
