Yelp
I came down to Rosarito Beach for the weekend and had my first lomito filet mignon sandwich at El Gaucho Argentino... it was so amazing, that I came back the next day at 11 AM (30 minutes before they open) for another one:
super tender high quality meat brought in from a cattle ranch in Sonora, Mexico; sweet charred grilled onions; delicious chimichurri sauce;yellow peppers; soft bolillo roll.
BEST steak sandwich in my life!
$10
Super clean interior & kitchen, outside patio with grill & umbrellas, and BEST of all for me: 2 tv's with every cable station to watch MLB/NFL/
* NEW REVIEW:
Sept. 8,2019 Sunday morning:
I just left Los Angeles and drove down to my beach house in Rosarito Beach and arrived at 11 AM, fortunately for me the time that El Gaucho Argentino opens up the restaurant on Sunday mornings; I came to the restaurant to have a lomito steak sandwich before I even went to my home !
I wanted to see if the 2 steak sandwiches that I had the last time I was here was an aberration and really as good as I mentioned in my review above;
The steak sandwich that I just ate was even better than the first two that I had here on my last trip !!!
this time I asked for sliced tomatoes, which they provided from their organic garden that is growing behind the restaurant ; the taste of the steak and quality of it, the sweet grilled onions, the chimichurri sauce and the organic tomatoes with the fresh Bollilo rolls was off the charts!!
I asked the owner if any customer has ever complained, or written a bad review of this restaurant, and he showed me a nasty review from some disgruntled customer named 'HINNATA U' posted approx. on September 1.
This customer must either be on delusional, or one miserable human being !
The SERVICE in this restaurant and the attention to detail on everything is top notch... it is impossible to get bad service here !
The food at La Estancia, where I have eaten many times in my years coming to Rosarito, doesn't even compare to El Gaucho; the quality of the meat and produce here is as fresh & good as I've had anywhere....so if this disgruntled customer got sick it was probably a lie, or it was a random and unfortunate experience... as for not having hot salsa available, anyone who has ever been to Argentina and eaten in an authentic Asador or Parilla in Argentina, knows they don't serve hot sauce on the tables; rather El Gaucho has a bowl of fresh chimichurri sauce and spicy yellow peppers on each table!
There will always be an asshole in every bunch, the ridiculous review posted by Hinnata U. proves it; do you think it's an accident that many people have written 5-star reviews, and then there is this review?
UPDATE: 8/1/2020:
I had lunch at El Gaucho again in Rosarito Beach; I've written reviews on Yelp before about this restaurant, and I want to make it clear that I'm not a part owner of this restaurant; I don't work for the restaurant; and they're not paying me to write this....so my gushing about this place seems phony, but it's not !
This used to be my favorite restaurant in Rosarito Beach, where I've had a home for 40 years;
but now it's my favorite restaurant ANYWHERE !
I give it a SOLID 10 on a scale of 1-10 !
and possibly even higher than a 10 now because their cleanliness and sanitation is off the charts!
when I was there last Saturday every time someone got up to leave from a table, 3 employees came with masks and gloves to the table top and the chairs and sprayed it, wiped it and sprayed it and wiped it a second time !
the floors, the bathrooms, the counters, the tables, the chairs are all immaculate!
it out does anything or any restaurant I've ever been to anywhere in terms of cleanliness!
the food quality is off the charts, and so is the service !
Thank you to Gerardo the owner and his great waitstaff for making this a fantastic dining experience whenever I go there
If they served breakfast at El Gaucho, I would eat there three times a day while I'm visiting my house in Rosarito Beach !
