El Gran Bamboo Restaurant

We went here this past Friday night with my wife’s sister and our brother-in-law. I was surprised to be seated by the stage and the hockey rink, which was pretty cool. The service was excellent and the food delicious with large portions, making it an excellent value for the prices. I had the Arroz con pollo which seemed like a never ending serving because it is such a large portion. I ordered it with red beans on the side and mixed them in with the rice and chicken. My wife had the breaded chicken breast, which was 2 large, breaded breasts, served thin and took up almost the whole plate. I thought it was interesting that when the server brought out the appetizers, she brought the silverware wrapped in napkins and plates. Then before our meal was served, she gathered it all up and brought clean silverware and napkins again. It kept the table nice and cleared. We could not finish our huge servings and took the leftovers home with us. My sister-in-law had the salmon and my brother-in-law had the grilled Asada. Both were good sized portions. This place is definitely worth checking out for really good Colombian cuisine.

Had a real good meal here while I waited for my kids to finish their skating session at the ice skating rink next door. I ate the grilled chicken smothered in a thick and delicious mushroom sauce. It came with two sides and I chose white rice. Pro tip, I mixed the rice in with the thick mushroom gravy and it was almost as delicious as the chicken. Ok…. The chicken was better. But damn that was good. I also had the fried yuca. I was not impressed with this and would order something different. You know how you reserve the fried things for special occasions, well I feel I kinda wasted that selection here. All in all, great music and lighting in the background that gives you a party/dance vibe. Definitely should check this place out.

The restaurant was decorated for Halloween. It was very atmospheric. The food was delicious. The portions were generous. There's a wonderful stage where concerts are held. We wanted to come back for one of the evenings. The window overlooks the skating rink. You can watch the kids practicing.

We are extremely happy we visited this place last night. Annis our hostess was amazing. The quality of the food was excellent. I highly recommend this place for couples or large crowd. They have a full bar. The Colombian cuisine is extremely good!

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Diana at El Grand Bamboo, and she made the entire dining experience unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, Diana greeted me with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that instantly made me feel welcome. She was attentive without being intrusive, making sure every detail was taken care of—my drinks were always full, my food came out perfectly timed, and she checked in often to ensure I had everything we needed. What really stood out was her professionalism combined with such a friendly, personal touch. She explained the menu with great knowledge, gave fantastic recommendations, and created such a positive, comfortable atmosphere. It’s rare to find someone who truly loves what they do, and with Diana, you can feel it in the way she takes care of her guests. El Grand Bamboo is already a wonderful restaurant, but with service like Diana’s, it becomes exceptional. I will definitely be returning and will be asking for her again. Highly recommend both the restaurant and Diana’s outstanding service!

During the visit to the establishment, the service provided by waiter Gustavo was unsatisfactory and created a negative experience. The employee showed a lack of professionalism, courtesy, and respect toward customers. In addition, he was observed speaking inappropriately to a female coworker (waitress), which reflects unacceptable behavior in the workplace. While the venue itself is adequate, the attitude of this waiter negatively impacts the customer experience, making the environment less welcoming. It is recommended that immediate corrective action be taken to prevent this type of behavior from damaging the establishment’s reputation and customer satisfaction.

had such a great experience today! Our server, Valentina, was absolutely amazing — friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Every dish came out just right, and you could tell real care was put into the preparation. Overall, everything from the service to the food was outstanding. I've been in Kendall for 10 years and always noticed this place because it's right next to the ice arena. I remember trying it years ago and thinking it wasn't that good. Recently, I visited for the Copa America event, and WOW! The quality has improved so much. They have great drinks, appetizers, and food. We tried different menu options, and everything was tasty. They even offer Colombian aguardiente and beer. The ambiance was amazing. They organized the Copa America final wonderfully, with a vibrant atmosphere and lively decorations. The music added to the festive mood, and the staff was incredibly attentive and efficient despite the huge crowd. The place was buzzing with energy, and it was clear they put a lot of effort into making the event special. The seating was comfortable, and the layout allowed for easy movement even with so many people around. I will definitely be checking out their live events in the future and returning for their great Colombian cuisine. This place has really turned things around, and I'm excited to see what they do next.

Look the place is nice, the food is good. But 3 % charge for using your credit card on top of 20 % tip already added to your bill is CRAZY to me. The service was not over the top it was very mediocre for the extra fees. Will I come again yes! Will I bring cash yes. They have happy hour, drinks are not weak and with one entree two people can eat. With all that said just keep in mind the extra money you will be spending here!

Came here to celebrate a friend's graduation. There were over 20 people and the service was excellent. The food came out promptly. It has a fun ambiance. It's a little like a sports bar, there are several big screen tvs with sports on. The food did not blow my mind but it was good... except the frijoles (beans), those were absolutely AMAZING. There's a lunch menu with more affordable prices.

Scammers!!! Please be aware if you pay with credit card, they will add a credit card surcharge. However the server do not inform nor is it included in the copy of your credit card receipt....Review your credit card statements! They need to work on making it more clear and inform patrons.

Llegamos con tiempo, absolutamente nadie atendiendo, un montón de mesas vacías y la respuesta que dan es que están reservadas y hasta a la hija del dueño metieron en el cuento! RESERVADAS?????!!!!! Cuando llevan toda la semana diciéndonos que no hacían reservas!!!!! Después nos dicen que el grupo ya había llegado. Si? Pero donde están que no los veo? Como en nuestra Colombia natal! CHANCUCO! Platica por debajo de la mesa!

Food, excellent. Service, I went during the week and they had one waitress. It was a Wednesday, she was great but she was the only one so made it a bit slow. Ambiance: I chose this place for my book club meeting, which was ideal before 9 o'clock. But after nine we couldn't hear ourselves talking. They have music and then a live singer. It was still great and we loved the music but we couldn't talk about our book lol. Food was amazing though.

This places has potential however it just did not deliver. I sat outside and dined alone and I felt to be a bother to the young man who was my waiter. I asked for extra sauce and he seemed bothered. I would have paid more for it to be honest. I had the tostones with their sauce, and the steak and mashed. My daughters later joined me after Ice skating next door and they had a few appetizers. Overall the food looks great and taste is good. They just need to tender more to diners.

This was the second worst Colombian restaurant I've ever been to. I gave it two stats because I saw a great concert there tonight but the food was atrocious. The salsa picante was a joke. The beef empenada was all potato. The chicharrón was not cooked properly. The morcilla was weird tasting and the chorizo was also not very good. If I go back for a show we will stick with drinks only.

Went to El Gran Bamboo for a Valentines show "pa calzones a calzoncillo" very enjoyable. I recommend this show. Stella Flores "la dama de la canción " was fantastic. Great voice and showmanship. Our server Gustavo was very hospitable, galant and sympatico. We had the chicken and pasta. It was very tasty. The cheese Alfredo cream was delicious in taste but a little to much, over powered the spaghetti which was perfectly cooked. It was a wonderful evening all around. Great atmosphere Beautiful and roomy restaurant.

Comenzaré diciendo que la comida fue absolutamente deliciosa, sin embargo, el service fue tan malo que nunca volveré a cenar allí. El ambiente era agradable y en ese momento el restaurante estaba vacío. Nos sentamos en las mesas en el área del bar y no había otras personas para asistir; con esto en mente, la mujer nunca me trajo agua (tuve que caminar hasta el bar para pedir). Cuando le preguntamos sobre un elemento del menú, no pudo responder la pregunta porque no estaba familiarizada con el menú. Parecía no entender español o inglés y parecía perdida y desinteresada en servirnos. Además de eso, cuando le pedimos que separara los cheques, ella respondió que "deberíamos haber preguntado antes de realizar el pedido", como si fuera difícil separar un cheque. NO recomendaría una cena en la experiencia. El bebé Churasco fue increíble y si elijo comer aquí nuevamente, haré mi pedido en línea

Came here on a Friday night solo and had a bandeja paisa and 3 heinekens. Diana was on point like a pencil. I wish I could give 6 stars because I would. Anyway the food here is good along with the service. Make sure you come here on a weekend for some live music.

This place is near the Kendall ice skating arena and it always appears busy so we decided to try it with a few of our friends. What's neat and unique about this restaurant is you have a view of the skaters. So, you see some falls and training. My kids were certainly enjoying watching the ice skaters. The restaurant itself is big. Very dark though. Has dark furniture, the rugs are dark. I think if they painted a bit and renovated, it wouldn't look so dark. The food wasn't bad. Not the greatest, but not bad. I'm giving this restaurant a three stars as the one thing we noticed is that the music was loud. There was a DJ and the music was blaring that we almost didn't order to eat because we couldn't hear each other. There were only two other couples so it's not as if anyone was dancing. Just food for thought.

I recently celebrated a birthday dinner with my family and I have to say not very impressed. The staff was very nice and approachable. But the server who I would not name was not very efficient. Our appetizers were very late the server seem to always be in a rush and did forget some meals. Again maybe he was a new server or was just having a bad day I don't know but not satisfy with service. Oh and want to mention we went early so the restaurant was empty. Over all the food was okay my dish in particular was good I had chicken breast with rice and tostones no complains there but some of my families meals were cold. I would go again maybe to eat a sandwich or have coffee but not really to celebrate a special occasion.

I was in town visiting my son and he suggested we go to his local favorite Columbian restaurant. This was the first time trying Columbian food. Since I don't speak Spanish, I wasn't sure what to order and my son suggested the Fried Mojarra, rice, beans, blood sausage, with flavorful guanabana (soursop) tropical drinks!! The service was great and staff was very friendly! The food was made quickly! Everything was very flavorful! When in the Miami area and looking for some very unique flavors, I would defiantly suggest giving this place a try. It's worth the drive!!

Nunca pidan cazuela de frutos del mar, me pareció costoso y es un engaño, es un robo, un descaro lo que sirven, este lugar solo debería ser un bar por que de restaurante no tiene el ambiente.

First impression, my wife and I stop in this place for a quick dinner and it was the best our meat was cooked on the right terms just like we asked, The natural juices became so good that I drink two. The appetizer show so quick and it was fresh and tested real good. Honestly this place went more far in my expectations than I thought. I will recommend it to the 100% in all service they provided. Our friend Gloria also get 5 stars which treats us super nice and comfy. We'll back soon craving 4 MORE.

WTF is wrong with this place? The rules for the happy hour are the saddest I have ever heard of in my life. After inquiring about the differences between what is an not included in the specials, not one but two bartenders came back with very different answers. Also, aren't bartenders, for the most part, trained in bartending school? Not here!!!! OJT of the worse kind!!! Please change management, or completely shut down!!! What a wasted space.

This is a Colombian place by the hammocks. Walking in it resembles a food hall because of the many table and y'all ceilings. In a corner they have a projection screen ready for games I'm assuming. Decor is simple and to the point nothing fancy. We had the bandeja paisa which was a little pricey at $14 in comparison to other places nearby. The bandeja itself was fulfilling but not mind blowing. The steak was good and actually medium which is how I ordered it. The beans were great and arepa too. The salsas they offered were a bit bland and watery but ok in its taste. Big turn off was that the drinks are served in small plastic cups. Made me feel like I was in a cafeteria. But the menu seems to have a bit of everything that's Colombian cuisine and prices ranging from 10-25$. The service was attentive and the servers seemed to display a good set of teamwork which was good to see. Given that it is a big hall I doubt it is a sectioned restaurant. But whenever someone saw we needed something they were there. The star not given is because of the cups honestly and also the sound check they were doing that almost blew my eardrums out of my head.

I would had giving to this restaurant a bigger rating, food was great, service was great as well-not the fastest one, but it was decent, it was four of us at the dinner table, ask the waitress for our bill, and ask her for our military discount!!!! Turns out- if you are an active duty of the military- THEY WONT DO DISCOUNTS!!!!!! BC YOU ARE NOT WEARING YOUR UNIFORM AT THE TIME YOU HAVING DINNER W/ your family, we showed our military ID! And they refuse to use it!!!! So for everyone out there if you loooking a discount make sure you save that Halloween costume and come here to get a discount! Bc apparently they can offer our discount- to anyone that shows up w an uniform!!! So much for fighting for freedom!!! When we don't even get appreciate for what we do for this country in this place! Never coming again here!

I'll start of by saying this in an amazing Colombian restaurant. The food was was superb and the portions plentiful. We ordered two super bandeja paisas, our go-to order at any Colombian restaurant, and these rated among the highest in the Kendall area. The restaurant is very family oriented, is beautifully decorated, and even has a view of the ice arena! As far entertainment, they've got you covered. While we were eating here, we were able to watch a football game on their big screen and watch people ice skate, all from our table. There are several servers circling around at any given time. Oh, and did I mention they have a private second deck and live entertainment several nights a week? Swing by. You won't regret it. They all also have a house made aioli which is pretty fantastic. Imagine a cilantro garlic mayo-y type sauce with a splash of beer. Delicious!

This place is really neat looking and quite spacious. They've got a stage with an MC and live music. You are now wondering why I only gave it one star. Well, that's simple. They have the volume set so unbearably loud that my ears are ringing and I haven't left the place yet. Seriously, I already hate restaurants where I can't even have a conversation, but I really DETEST places where the DJ is apparently deaf and can't tell everyone's ears are bleeding. I am booking an appointment with my doctor to get my ears checked as we speak...

I was reaaaallyyy hoping to like this place but I left so disappointed. The service was slow and the food was not only cold but it was horrible. Everything tasted like it had been sitting there for hours. BEWARE of the 18% mandatory tip to an already overpriced bill...

Popped in for lunch today. I had the bandeja paisa of course Colombian joint. Rice, beans, eggs and pork skin was good however the beef was so tough and chewy I couldn't eat it. For $15 I expect nothing less than a good/decent quality steak. Please step up your beef quality your customers will appreciate it.

Came over here to grab a quick meal, as my husband was under the impression it was a casual diner-style restaurant. It is a bit pricier than that, and it is a full service restaurant as well. Service was a tad on thei slow side, but polite. Food portions were fair. The menu is not extensive (only 10-12 choices), but what was served was tasty and well-made. If you're looking to spend somewhere around 100$ for a dinner for four not the most amazing, but also not completely regrettable

Stopped in with a group. Placing the order took 45 minutes with the waitress fumbling with sticky notes for the different order. 45 minutes after that food starts showing up piecemeal. With confusion of what goes where. The restaurant was not crowded and we know why now. We will not be back.

Amazing restaurant! The food was great, especially the bandeja paisa! The service was also amazing, quick also.

The food was good but they completely lied to us about how long it would take for the live music show to start by literally 2 hours. The worst part about it was, when the show was getting started, a man who was part of the entertainment began making political jokes about our current president in Spanish during a long and ungrateful roast of more than 5 minutes which revealed he lacks respect for a country that welcomed him and his family with open arms. Ruined the experience.

This place is awful. Service rude . We left before food got there. Very small menu. Avoid this place at all costs.

We used to eat here and always the experience was great , but the last visit was not completely pleasant. Nothing related to the food. It is always delicious. They were celebrating the Sunday Colombian Night with life music that could had been enjoyed if it wasn't extremely loud. Maybe is me, but eating with that volume was a torture. Other issue was the plastic glasses for water. Really!!! You can do it better. I will return but definitely not when those activities are going on.

This place was almost empty besides the bar which had 2 people drinking. Our table had 5 people and they took over 1 hr to serve us kind of warm sancocho soup and bandeja paisa which the beans looked like they had been over heated all day. The service was fair at best, I found my self having to flag down a waitress from the only 2 working there that sunday. I have been to the other bamboo restaurant locations and they are much much better than this one at the hammocks. Will not go back

This has got to be the WORST restaurant period. Terrible food and worst of all, the service is horrible. To top it off, there's a mandatory 18% tip included on the bill. If up to me, no tip as not even a refill on water when 4 of us went today. Do not, I repeat, do not under any circumstances eat at this restaurant. There are much better choices out there, heck, even McDonalds is a better choice. Mind you, I don't like fast food.

I showed up to this restaurant blindly taking a shot in the dark. The staff was super friendly & attentive. Ordered a rum & coke and a glass of Chianti. The drinks were great. As for there food, the buñuelos were amazing. The arepa de choclo- not so much. It was visually unappealing but of course I had to see for myself. The arepa itself was great... minus the insane amount of cheese which kinda ruined it completely. Overall, the experience was great, just won't be ordering the arepa if I ever return.
