Is Greece Hot In February? The Best Winter Sun Destinations In Greece
Dedicated to the life or work of Domenikos Theotokopoulos, this museum on Crete is described as part of the island’s rich array of historical museums, making it a worthwhile cultural stop when visiting outside the peak summer heat. - Liv Kelly
Museum is small, which is expected. I still paid the entry and visited as a gesture of supporting. Intriguingly met a retired lady again whom took a wrong bus to Fodele beach (she expected to the village where is 3km away)... we sat down at the museum cafe and chat for nearly an hour. Very nice encountering. Ice cream from goat milk in the cafe is nice.

Who knew that just 8 minutes off the main highway is the converted birthplace of one of the world’s most famous artists.
Small but interesting. There is no original work of course as they are all worth millions and are hanging in galleries around the world.
Be sure to have lunch in the small but charming village of Fodele too

Worth a visit. Has a small cafe and a pleasant rest area. Pictures are all framed photos but give an understanding of this master artist.

Quaint stone museum in the Crete countryside. Combine your visit with a nearby tavern lunch and preface with a book on El Grecos inspirations throughout Europe.

The museum is very small and has about 15 copies of el Greco. What interesting is (if True) that this would be the birthplace of the Artist. Worthwhile is the terras. Simple but nice shades and cool drinks, nature oasis in the middle of nowhere. Friendly people.
Don’t miss a little down the road the beautiful but small church with several fresco’s.

A complete restoration of El Greco’s birthplace in Fodele is a nice respite from the tourist crowds. Reproductions of his work, can be found through out the exhibit. We really enjoyed seeing his studio and wondering what his family was like. Behind every great artist is a great family.

It's a decent little museum, but it lacks originality. It basically hosts replicas of the great painter El Greco, which are in a nice display for people to see. Although it says it is the home of the painter, it doesn't really seem like a functional house.
It's an alright experience if you wanna see up close some of the painters works.

cute little museum in a picturesque surrounds. Inspiring setting, with copies of the originals, but that does not ruin the overall experience. There was also a small additional temporal exhibition on young Polish painters!
