"A James Beard American Classic, El Guero Canelo is famous for its Sonoran hot dog, which features a bacon-wrapped dog stuffed into a Mexico-made bun before it’s all loaded with beans, onions, tomatoes, and jalapeño sauce."

"Bacon-wrapped hot dogs are gratuitous, yes. But when topped with beans, onion, tomato, mayo, mustard, and jalapeño salsa, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts. No fancy food writer language here—it’s just really good. Order a carne asada torta as well, and maybe a caramelo (think of it like a sibling to the quesadilla, but with two sandwiched tortillas instead of one folded one) too. But the best part of theGuero Caneloexperience is the epic toppings bar: Radishes! Pickled onions! All the salsas! Grilled scallions! It’s a heavenly experience." - ByCarey Polis

Sometimes all you need is some Guero. So nice sometimes to stop by to get some real good Sonoran style food. Always hits that spot where you can eat a delicious hot dog. Used to come here a lot when I was younger. It’s always nostalgic to come by again.

We’ve been here a few times already and it never disappoints. Food is always good and place is always clean.

My first Sonoran hotdog and doubt I will have another. Just not my thing. This place is very popular and service was ok but the fries came after I was almost done with my dog. They were apologetic. Bar of condiments was popular but there was plenty of stuff on the dog already. Prices were high IMHO for two of us 2 dog meals, a bacon wrapped beef burrito, 1 cake for desert was almost $50 with tip. We took the cake home and had plenty to eat and the drinks were huge. Fries were decent but it was probably too much food and we should have split the fries and dropped the cake. I do like a good hot dog but this wasn’t worth the hype to me but clearly many love it. The place was run down with picnic benches. Rest room was clean. Very efficient taking orders but again our fries came half way through our meal.

Really good tacos and topping/ salsa bar. We really like the churros. It felt like we were in Mexico. I wish the menu describe what the items are, they had some good looking thing but no description.

Out first time to try Sonora hotdogs. It was good. Lots of free condiments. Plus - we were given free guacamole and a nag of chips because it was our first time. Overall, great experience! Will go back for sure!

El Guero Canelo on 12th Street in Tucson, Arizona has consistently been a culinary delight for me since 2005. Every visit is a nostalgic journey, as this iconic establishment has managed to maintain its authentic charm over the years. The star of the show, the Sonoran hot dog, is nothing short of amazing (and I don't even like hot dogs). The perfectly grilled bacon-wrapped hot dog nestled in a soft bolillo bun, topped with pinto beans, diced tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, mayo, and mustard, creates a symphony of flavors that never fails to satisfy my taste buds. What sets El Guero Canelo apart is not just its delectable hot dogs but also the vibrant atmosphere enhanced by the salsa bar. The array of salsas, ranging from mild to fiery, allows patrons to customize their culinary experience. It adds an interactive and fun element to the dining experience, making each visit unique. The freshness and variety of the salsas showcase the commitment to quality ingredients and attention to detail that characterize El Guero Canelo's offerings. Beyond the culinary delights, the consistency of El Guero Canelo is truly commendable. Despite the passage of time, the restaurant has maintained the same high standards that initially captivated my taste buds. The dedication to preserving the essence of their signature dishes speaks volumes about the establishment's commitment to its roots and the satisfaction of its loyal customers. The staff at El Guero Canelo deserves accolades for their friendly and efficient service. The welcoming atmosphere combined with quick and attentive staff members enhances the overall dining experience. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time fan like myself, the hospitality at El Guero Canelo adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the already delightful culinary journey. In conclusion, El Guero Canelo on 12th Street in Tucson, Arizona, continues to be a shining gem in the city's culinary landscape. From the unchanged, mouthwatering Sonoran hot dog to the dynamic salsa bar and impeccable service, this establishment has rightfully earned its five-star status in my book. If you find yourself in Tucson, a visit to El Guero Canelo is not just a meal; it's an experience that encapsulates the essence of Sonoran cuisine at its finest.

This review is about the food truck serving hotdogs at the Kino Gen & Mineral Show on Ajo today Sunday 2/16/25 around noon. Food was great as usual, but the couple of gentleman working the food truck ruined the experience for me and my family as well as a few other people there while we were on site at that time; the younger man operating the card terminal deliberately selects the highest tip amount when prompted before handing the card reader to the customers, this is not okay and glad we caught this before pressing "OK" on the card terminal to process our transaction, also same younger man carried on a conversation with the other man cooking/ prepping the food using loud and foul language considering they were just feet away from the tables were customers are eating, my little kids and wife included, this is also not okay.

Yelp
I'm not sure what else can be said about this place. Cheap and excellent! Always consistent. The secret is the bun. Get an original with everything on it!

Crisia T.

Yelp
My boyfriend is from Tucson and wanted to take me to try a Sonoran dog while we were visiting his family over the holiday weekend. I was pretty excited after reading the reviews. We ordered 2 Sonoran dogs and a pack of 3 churros cause why not?! The Sonoran dogs were good but I was surprised how small the hot dogs were. I tasted more bread than I did meat and all the other goodies it comes with. The churros were delicious. But might need to give the Sonoran dogs another try. If I had to compare the Sonoran dog to the hot dogs served jn the streets of LA, I would still choose LA by far.

Vicky B.

Yelp
Was visiting from out of town and we came to try a Sonoran hot dog. We dined in and got the special which was two Sonoran hot dogs and a drink for $11-something. Our food came out fairly quickly, we waited about 5 minutes or so. There was plenty of seating inside (and AC), and a station for toppings (I'm assuming for tacos, burritos, chips, etc).

Rebekah J.

Yelp
We were told this is the OG spot for some Sonoran dogs and since we are OGs ourselves we took the trip to South Tucson. I wasn't disappointed in my first Sonoran dog experience in the least. The buns for the dogs were fresh and all the toppings really set it off. I particularly enjoyed the quesadilla on corn tortillas OMG the cheesy goodness I. That was perfection. My partner had the chicken caramelo and meat was seasoned well and so delicious. When we are in Tucson again we will definitely come through.

Cindy S.

Yelp
As far as I am concerned this is the only Sonoran hot dog restaurant in Tucson. I bring all my out of town visitors and they love it.

AZloops S.

Yelp
Bland boring small hot dogs. Someone recommended but not sure why. Overpriced for sure.

Paul I.

Yelp
Good people who run this place make me always want to return. I have always loved the double weenie Sonoran dog but it feels like the dogs are smaller and the bun is the same size. Nevertheless it's tasty. They have the best carne asada quesadillas around. I'll be back

Gary K.

Yelp
Sonoran All Beef Hot Dogs were delicious. Really enjoyed the salad-type bar with huge sliced cucumbers, radishes, grilled peppers, tasty grilled large onions (bulbs), pickled onion slices, salsas, and especially the green avocado sauce. Disappointed website said soup available, but no soup for me! Bench seats at metal tables uncomfortable. Ambiance is lacking... sadly, it is what it is.

Greg O.

Yelp
Saw their hotdog on Pati's Mexican Table so when we came to Tucson on vacation we made sure to stop. The hotdog was good and the bun was a soft as described on the show.

Joe M.

Yelp
Outstanding carne asada! Fast service, authentic atmosphere. I didn't try the Sonoran dog but others in my work group did, and liked it.

Eric A.

Yelp
The food was decent but the prices are just UNREAL. There is much better Mexican food out there for much less.

Tanya C.

Yelp
I was waiting in the drive-through for 25 minutes. A bunch of other people got their food before me. They were in the line behind me which made no sense. After about 20 minutes I asked what was taking so long and they told me it was because they didn't have any hot dogs. I waited another five minutes before I finally had to go inside and ask for a refund because I was tired of waiting. I went across the street to another establishment their competitor and got my food within four minutes. I will not be back that's for sure.

PatrickJ T.

Yelp
We heard that since we were in Tucson, we had to try one of the city's signature Sonoran Hot Dogs. We told our friends, and they got us all Sonoran Hot dogs from El Guero Canelo. This restaurant came highly rated on Yelp, Google, and other media. We all got the $8.99 deal which included two Sonoran Hot dogs and a soda. My bottle of Coca Cola was terrific! The Sonoran Hot dog was a letdown. There was just a little scrap of bacon wrapped around the tiny hot dog. Tasted very bland overall. In fact, that was the opinion of all five of us who each had a Sonoran Hot Dog. My wife ordered a Carne Asada Torta. The torta was pretty good. Better than the hot dog. Overall, it was a disappointment. Maybe they had a new chef in the kitchen that day, Who knows. I might try them again the next time I'm in Tucson based on all the good reviews, but it will be awhile.

Leo T.

Yelp
The food is good. But I haven't been there in years now because I stopped trying. Every time I have gone there for a burro my card is always declined and I'm told to talk to my bank, and yes I've always had money on it. I just stopped trying to go. Oh well.

Rob M.

Yelp
The food is good when they get it right. The success of the business is beginning to result in inattentive staff. We order from here about once or twice a month for the last ~5 years. We order the same things: Sammy or chucho dogs and carne asada burritos. We get everything on the sammy dogs and ask for no beans or cabbage in the burritos. I don't expect them to remember us or our order. But this isn't a difficult off-the-menu order from someone with 25 allergies. And they get it wrong ~60% of the time. Usually, I have no problem attributing it to "oh, they were busy. I'll eat the beans anyway." That's reasonable when the errors are infrequent. It's to the point where my wife and I are surprised when our order is correct. Then, when you raise the issue with a cashier, she pretends she doesn't understand or speak English. The issues were usually small, but when they become a regular occurrence, it's no longer a 'mistake,' but a pattern. But the food is usually good and reasonably priced, but what happened last night is where I draw the line and speak out. I went to the drive thru, ordered, paid, and was told to pull around front, where they'd bring the food to my car. There was no line in the drive thru and there were fewer than ten customers in the restaurant (~9pm, midweek). I waited ~10 minutes out front before walking inside. My bag of food was on the counter for who knows how long. The girl knew what the order was as soon as I walked in and handed me the bag. I wonder how much longer the bag would've sat on the counter before the light bulb turned on in her head and brought me the food. When I got home and sat down to eat, I opened the box and saw a chucho dog (pictured) with the ends cut off. They cut the ends of the frank off so it would fit in the to-go box. I don't know if this was policy or an executive decision made by the problem-solver behind the counter, but this is unacceptable. I want the entire frank for which I waited entirely too long. Buy larger to-go boxes or wrap them differently. That's either laziness, indifference, or both coming from either management, the counter help, or both. It's gonna be BK's or Filiberto's from here on out.

Yelp
La carne con un sabor como en ninguna taqueria de Tucson. Nos comimos un Caramelo también y estaba riquisimo

Andy M.

Yelp
Great Mexican hotdogs! A good representation of the Tucson food culture.Condiment bar has a big selection of peppers and pickled add-ons!

Joop V.

Yelp
3.5 stars! We were vacationing in Tucson so we thought we should try a Sonoran hotdog and found El Guero Canelo as a worthy place to try (given great reviews for Sonoran dogs in multiple media). I liked that the food there has a local Mexican-ish hole in a wall vibe..and the food is affordable! Everything is pretty much less than $10...even quite lower than that price point! We got Sonoran dogs and a chicken burro to try and it wasn't too long of a wait to get our food at all. I thought the Sonoran dog was just ok. The bread was mushy/softer than any hotdog buns I had elsewhere before. I liked that it had sausage wrapped with bacon and a bit of toppings like beans, tomato, chili, onions in a bun..but overall...the taste was just bland. Same comment for the burro, too.nit wasted good and nothing wrong with it...but even so..more bland than the hot dogs. Overall, it's a good affordable place to grab food..and maybe try the signature Tucson Sonoran dogs..but I wouldn't say it's a place for iconic visit again once you had tried it once in your lifetime already.. I would still consider going there if I need a quick bite+in the area for something casual though..since the food is still good and affordable.

Rachel B.

Yelp
This location has drive thru down to a well-oiled machine. If you have never tried El Guero Canelo you are missing out. Every time we are in Tucson this is a MUST EAT. This visit included the Sonoran Hot Dog and Sammie Dog. Both are GREAT! And if you aren't a fan of an ingredient you can always request that item be left off.

Julzs P.

Yelp
We ordered two Carne asada burritos @ 11.99 each. Took awhile to get our order. My hubby got his wrapped with bacon so took a little longer. I got regular, came with cabbage and beans. Mine was super full of cabbage which made it come apart!! And the meat i was pulling out so much chopped fat from my mouth! The flavor of the meat not seasoned, not even salt. And it was super greasy. I finally took it apart to dig out the cabbage put on a small plate it was over a cup of cabbage. I dug through the rest of the burro and tried to eat just the meat. The tortilla was good but to much. We haven't been to this place in since 2011. Which now i know why. I have learned my lesson and will never return. Don't recommend it to anyone.

Marilyn C.

Yelp
Just a nice little mom and pop Mexican restaurant (a hole in the wall). But all the flavors are there. Third Mexican restaurant we've been to down in Tucson and this was the first one is the best of all three other two to touristy and would not be going back to those two. But this is the one flavor, flavor, and more flavor.

Mary A.

Yelp
The best Sonoran hot dogs in town! The ambiance is lacking, but the hot dogs make up for it.

Mary Ann A.

Yelp
We had the Sonora hot dog. It was good and the restaurant was so different and unique. Nothing fancy, sit down at a picnic table and eat your food.

Victoria W.

Yelp
sonoran hot dog ($3.99) - bacon wrapped frank, beans, fresh & grilled onions, tomatoes, mayo, and mustard a classic tucson dish - im super happy to have tried it. it's honestly a better version of a regular hotdog - there were so many other toppings added on!! this may be the way to make hotdogs from now on! this location is 10 minutes away from the airport - so super convenient to grab and go eat at the airport (which was what I did). apparently, this is one of the original places that invented this kind of hotdogs! I know town there are a lot of little mom and pop shops + food trucks - will have to give it a try on my next visit

Jeff P.

Yelp
Well how about that, Mexican hotdogs, or Sonora dogs as they called them, zesty and delicious the dogs are grilled to a fantastic temperature with a hint of crispiness, heavenly, who da thunk, throw in some chips and a salsa bar and that's all you need for a delicious meal. 5 stars highly recommended.

Carol P.

Yelp
Worst customer service ever! Special on drive thru board. I asked what a 'Torton Special' was. Apparently, that pissed the lady off. She yelled, I mean shouted at the top of her lungs, the answer. Then she was snarling when we drove up to pay and slamming machine and my card around. She stuck a pink post it on the side of my SUV and slammed the drive thru window shut. It's our first time here, btw. She opened it a few minutes later to again shout at us because apparently , you're supposed to drive around the corner to get your food. We've been waiting five minutes now. I hope we're in the right spot. We won't be back.

Grace S.

Yelp
It's the first time I've been to this location and I went back and forth between giving them 3 & 4 stars. Ultimately their warm & friendly customer service bumped them up to a 4. We got a couple of Sonoran hot dogs, one with no onions, and a burrito and chicken caramelo. All the food was fine. Food was served at a great temperature and it was still warm by the time we got home to eat it. The no onion dog was clearly marked, and they packaged all food really well for the trip home. Only exceptions were the sauces. There were spills by the time we got home. I was disappointed by the food itself. The dogs were tasty but nothing exceptional. I've had Güero's dogs before at the other location & thought they were delicious so I was a little bummed. All of the food seemed to lack seasoning but it was cooked well. The chicken in the caramelo was thoroughly cooked but not overdone and same for the meat in the burrito. We all added salt to our food & this did improve the flavor. The sauces were another bland item. My friend ordered extra of the green sauce because they love it so much but it didn't taste like anything. Super bland and forgettable. The drinks, a Jamaica and an Horchata, were delicious. Just the right amount of ice, definitely on the sweet side but not overwhelmingly so. Huge sizes for great price. I'll definitely try this location again because I was really impressed by how friendly all staff interactions were and how well they've adjusted their systems to keep everyone safe and healthy. Staff was friendly and explained how take-away worked and they were super fast in giving us our food.

HsiaoCheng W.

Yelp
Was passing through town. Haven't been back since the 90's, but always good memories of this college town. I love hot dogs. And I love Mexican food. So this place was heaven for me. Hit the spot. And ya know, I would have gotten more, but I had a long drive ahead of me and didn't want a food coma to ensue.

Randy S.

Yelp
Not the El Guero of the pass. Now overpriced and the food is mediocre/not so good. Very sad..Service is great. Restaurant is vey clean in the dining area.

Louise L.

Yelp
Had an irritating experience. We ordered, wait is already long because they are busy. Our buzzer went off but our food was prepared to eat there and not to go, so they held onto our hotdogs so they could add our tacos to the bag. My husband watched as they took 2 of our hotdogs out of the bag and gave them to a lady that said she had 2 missing. Then the rest of our food was ready, they thought we were done but we were still missing the two hotdogs they took out. We had to wait for them to make those, she said it was ready, but she only added 1 and we were missing two. So now we had to wait a third time. During this time, two different people asked to see our receipt. I understand being busy, but this was just not paying attention and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully it tastes better than the service.

Laura B.

Yelp
At the recommendation of Sunset Magazine, our AirBnB host, and the James Beard Foundation, we stopped into El Guero for our first Sonoran dog after a day of hiking in Sabino Canyon (yes, we're tourists). We headed to the counter and ordered a couple of the classics (~ $4 each) and a couple of Cokes, then grabbed a two-seater by the salsa bar. Orders come up fast, thanks to a couple guys working a huge grill out back with dozens of hotdogs. On its face, the Guero dog is everything you'll desire - the bun, the dog, the toppings are spot on. This is the iconic dog, as promised. I threw on some tomatillo salsa for good measure, but it wasn't necessary. Seating is casual, fast-foody. Lots of families are enjoying themselves, and this would be a great casual date spot. That said, there was a certain "je ne sais quoi" that left us wanting from the classic dog, so instead of ordering another, we left and bought our next round at Taqueria de Jason across the street. If you're looking for the Level 1 Sonoran, head to El Guero. When you're ready to graduate, cross the road and keep the party going. Thanks for showing us the way, Guero!

Amelia G.

Yelp
Literally a Tucson staple. So delicious. The burritos (even the small ones) are huge. They have little salsas and sides you can fill up in too. You'll never be hungry after leaving there.

Peggy S.

Yelp
Favorite restaurant in Tucson! Food is fast, delicious, and so fresh. I came here with about 20 people for a late lunch during a mural tour around the city. Our tour guide said we had about 20 minutes, and I thought no way we would all get to eat in that time. The staff moved so quickly through the line! It was incredible! Plus there was plenty of seating for us. I ordered two chicken tacos on corn tortillas with the mango smoothie. The tacos were filled to the max. I had to use the second tortilla on each to make it like an extra long wrap. (I could not get any of the hot dogs due to a gluten allergy, but others said they were great. The double dog version looked best.) My mango smoothie had some spicy sauce in it; so good! In the seating area, there is a bar with salsas and toppings for your food, self-serve. I grabbed some fried jalapenos and cucumbers. Next time: I'll try another meat for the tacos, and not worry about the line.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Great Mexican food, worth the visit if you visit Tucson. The Sonoran dog is one of the best in the city

Manny M.

Yelp
Way over priced! Wow! Inflation is rampant in this particular restaurant. I am Mexican so I will no longer be going here to eat---I would probably need to take out a second mortgage if I continued to eat here. I am Mexican so we will be making our own Sonora hotdogs at home. BTW, they sell the Coca Cola on bottles made with sugar cane at Coatco ($1.37 per bottle, cost). ¡ ADIOS AMIGOS!

Mark G.

Yelp
Came here based on a vlog i saw. The carne asada burros looked amazing on the video and the discussion was about the tortillas and onions being from Mexico. The beef is treated very plainly. So i decided to try this place out. The neighborhood is not your downtown or suburban type hood. In fact while we were eating a homeless woman came in a grabbed a bunch of stuff from the salsa bar and threw it into here plastic bag. Some people may have gotten scared, but being in Philly a lot, I just didn't find this to be appropriate for a restaurant to accept. The folks inside don't speak english well so knowing a little Spanish helps. They were very nice and pleasant to order from. We had the medium burro filled with beef beans and a bit of cabbage. All i tasted was the beef. Beef and tortillas were really good (hence the extra star) There is a salsa bar in the middle of the covered eating area with a few salads, cucumbers, radishes, grilled onions and serrano peppers. Salsas were decent. Overall if you are visiting Tucson and want an authentic Sonoran experience I think there are better places than this. Felt sketchy, especially with the homeless woman situation.

Chris C.

Yelp
Ordered the pollo torta, WAS SOOO GOOD. That bread was definitely homemade, super soft, buttery, yummmm. Just wow. Chucho's dog was outstanding as well, very well balanced. 10/10!

Jason B.

Yelp
U can't show up in Tucson Ax & not get a Sonoran dog. This place is super famous for them as well as their quesadillas

Craig G.

Yelp
I had it book marked, and decided to take a client, who claims to be a foodie snob. This is no sit down white linen affair. This is home cooking AZ style. It was only 103 out today. But we braved the heat to dine in the tent...or yurt like inside. Aka not really sure it it was cooled by AC or fans or some combination but it wasn't exactly cool in there but it wasn't too hot either. Order up front and they give you a light up puck while you wait in the dining areas. Step down to Costco type bench and table combos laid out in a grid around the Fix-in's bar, chocked full of salsas, fresh sliced and pickled produce, cheese and peppers. I am a Chicago hotdog fan, and snob! I musta booked marked this from some foodie show, No Reservations or Triple D who featured this AZ spot and the main specialties... Sonoran Hotdogs. Considering these puppies earned the restaurant a James Beard Award, I was in the correct spot to sample this desert special. I must say the amalgamation porky salty bacon wrapped around a hotdog, added Mexican beans, topped with sweet reduction of cooked onions along with pungent fresh cut ones, tomato in pico form, and a bit of heat provided by jalapeño sauce, all stuffed inside and on top of that soft funky bun; then a squirt of mustard and mayo; will take you to a new dimension and definitely expand your definition of hotdog. I also sampled a Caramelo, basically a quesadilla with protein of choice where the fixings bar comes in handy to hook it up. This one was chicken which was tender, moist cubes of Breast meat that was bursting with flavor... wow! That in a burrito, which they also have will cause you to slap your Mama Sita! Two of us ate for like 26 bucks! .To think We dined at a James Beard awarded restaurant for that price is plain LOCO!

Deb S.

Yelp
Just as good as it ever was! I haven't been back since 2006, but have been craving a Sonoran Dog. So we drove on down from Phoenix just for a bite. Yep. And it was worth every minute of the drive. Soft, incredibly soft bun filled with a savory frank wrapped in bacon, and topped with beans, tomatoes, onions, jalapeno sauce, guacamole, and sour cream. We shared a large horchata and it was cinnamon spiced and refreshing. Service is very friendly, and we loved the drive-thru with masks during Covid-19. I had to stop into the restrooms and they were sparkling clean. Anthony Bourdain would be so proud. Thanks for yummy memories.

Chris S.

Yelp
After going here for almost 20 years I have seen the place go down in quality more and more until finally I am done. My last trip to Gueros, I ordered a chicken burrito to go. I took one bite and it was so foul tasting I spit it out, had to pull over and rinse my mouth out. I'm not sure if it was spoiled or if some cleaning agent had gotten mixed in, but it was absolutely disgusting. I contacted Gueros immediately via their website. I left my phone number and email. I wanted a refund, but I also wanted to make them aware before they gave rotten chicken to someone else as well. It has been one week and I haven't heard back from them. I'm sad I will NEVER go back there again. If you have a choice, go to BK's. It's very close to this location and even if you're trying to stay loyal to Guero, it's time to let go and find better. Shame on you Gueros.

Fred B.

Yelp
There's a reason this dive has a James Beard award. Classic Sonoran hot dogs. Hot dogs aren't the only reason but man are they good. Buy two and eat two. They're really tasty and there is a condiments bar with loads of goodies to tweak them if you need to make it even better.

Jeff G.

Yelp
Great food and service. The owners are always treating my wife and I with total respect and are very welcoming. Once Alex, one of the brothers who own it, invited us to be in his commercial. He jokingly said he need some "Gringos" in the commercial. We have been going there for over 30 years.

K A.

Yelp
Super good food!!! The Sammy Sonoran double dog is amazing!! Will be back for sure! Worth the drive over from central Tucson. Nice owner too.

Steph F.

Yelp
East Tucson location: Had a huge party pack order for a large event. Amazing food and best value. Placed the order on line and Braulio assisted me when I called afterwards to confirm a couple of minor details. First, he was willing to fill the order even though I didn't have a week's notice (per website). He adjusted the time/date for me THREE times with a smile (it was for a softball team/families and the tournament kept changing the game times), and the staff there was so wonderful when I went to pick up - helping with everything, giving plates and napkins. Further, the party packs are GENEROUS. OMG they overfill the "5 pounds" of meat, their veggies are so fresh and cut perfectly. The grilled peppers are ridiculous. Their tortillas are fresh and delicious. Their salsas are RIDICULOUS (avocado salsa, pico, and spicy red). SO generous. They deserve 10 stars. I highly recommend this for the tons of teams doing tournaments in Tucson! Everyone DIED for the food. I cannot say enough about this food, the staff, and the company!

Yelp
Went there for burritos, which were good. We ordered soda, (their menu board has soda priced at $3.19) and we were charged nearly 9 dollars for 2 sodas. We pointed out that the menu board reflects a price of $3.19 and the girl taking our order rudely replied "those are for the cans" . We were not given cans, but 2 fountain drinks instead. We weren't given an option when we ordered, and nowhere is there clarification on the menu board about the cost for a fountain drink. We asked if the drinks were refillable and we were told no. I understand charging a certain price for prepared food, due to the convenience and the preparation. But soda? We could have bought three 2 liter bottles of soda for what we were charged for 2 fountain drinks and if the staff would not have rudely implied that we should have known better when the menu doesn't even mention the price for a fountain drink it wouldn't have seemed like such a slap in the face. Later, when a more polite staff member asked how our meal was, we told him the food was good but we brought up the cost of the drinks. He replied " I agree with you but I just work here and have no control over that". We won't be going back- mainly due to the rudeness and lack of willingness on anyone's part to offer a solution to their vague pricing information.

Yelp
Came here for dinner to try some Sonoran style hot dogs, between the two of us we had two hotdogs and a small beef caramelo. This was enough to fill us up. The food came out in a timely matter. The location had a fairly constant stream of people coming in and out. They have a small toppings bar with salsas, pico etc... and a benched area to sit in. The Sonoran hot dog was definitely bigger than I thought it was going to be, the frank was good, the bun was good - I read that some people find the bun too sweet which I didn't. I enjoyed the bacon wrapped around, it was all good just could have been more spicer but I can fix that myself. The caramelo is a Sonoran style quesadilla with meat and cheese then you can choose if you want flour or corn. We went with flour. Again it was another tasty dish.

Yelp
How have I not reviewed this place? I've come here dozens of times over the years. I'm glad it's not closer cuz I'd weigh a lot more than I do now! Let me keep it simple. If you like homemade tortillas, perfectly cooked carne asada, soda from a bottle, and a salsa bar with lots of choices, look no further. If you're looking for a high end joint, real silverware, and waitress service, keep looking. Hungry folks looking for legit food, nice staff, and good value, head here for dinner. You can thank me later!

Yelp
Had to return to try the world renowned Sonoran hotdogs with the bolillo bread. Will definitely return for this every time. Also tried the torta special for Thursday. It was carve asada in a large bolillo bread. Felt like the bread didn't compliment the carne asada or perhaps I'm socially conditioned to enjoy carne asada with a tortilla. Customer service was superb.
