El Huerto is a wonderful restaurant in Santiago that truly delivers on both quality and atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious and very generous in portion size, making the dining experience both satisfying and memorable. One dish that particularly stood out was the reinterpretation of the classic bruschetta with cheese and mushrooms. It was creative, beautifully presented, and full of flavor — a great example of how traditional dishes can be elevated in a modern and exciting way. The service deserves special mention as well. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived until we left. Their warm and professional approach added a lot to the overall experience. Another highlight is the terrace seating. The restaurant offers a very pleasant outdoor area where you can sit comfortably and enjoy your meal in a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Overall, El Huerto is an excellent choice in Santiago de Chile for anyone looking for tasty, well-prepared food, outstanding service, and a charming setting. Highly recommended

We ate a pleasant early dinner here and would absolutely return. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan selections. Really nice neighborhood. We started with the empanadas (see picture) and they were very tasty and freshly made. We then had the Porotos Granados (bean stew) and the Eggplant Parmigiana. Both were large portions and delicious. The Hendricks and Tonics were a bargain compared to prices in the US. The service was friendly and attentive. If we lived here we’d also like tofu and seitan as protein options , but this was perfect for what we wanted.

This is a classy vegetarian restaurant that has a nice selection of vegetarian starters and main dishes influenced by different cuisines from around the world - for example Thai, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Indian and Peruvian cuisines are all represented. I had the hummus to start, the pumpkin soup and burrito as my main course and the crepes with ice cream for dessert. In addition, the restaurant provided a complimentary starter to all diners consisting of multi grain buns and a red pepper dip. All the items were delicious. The service staff were all courteous, professional and English speaking - the menu is also available in English. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The restroom was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend this restaurant to those that enjoy delicious vegetarian meals inspired from different parts of the world served by friendly staff in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Several solid vegan options on the menu here, including Portos Granados, a traditional Chilean hearty summer stew that I hadn't seen on other menus during my visit. I also got to try a Pisco Sour here, happy to find a vegan version without an egg-white foam. Both were lovely! Gracias!

A cozy place with one of the best food in Santiago. We are not vegetarians but liked the food here so much that returned several times. The menu is interesting both dishes and drinks. We liked all. The service is quick and attentive.

Lovely Service, Lovely inside, lovely staff, and lovely food. This is a feel-good place. Vegan food galore! So many good options for anyone really. Our server was delightful, and I wish I could remember her name. My mom said she had been there years. We started with some sampler apps and they were good. The hummus was SOOOO GOOOD. I highly recommend. The guac was also super good. There was tofu with mushrooms which were good, but I am not a huge tofu fan so maybe I would not be the best judge. And then we were also provided some bread. I had a bowl that had some grains and lots of great vegetables. It was just so good and so filling. I had to take some home. Between the service, ambiance, and clean restrooms. I would come back here many times. Great place!

Very nice vegetarian place, with some vegan optons, that is apparently extremely popular. We dined in for lunch on a Monday, and it was quite busy outside on their nice patio and in their extensive inside. I ordered their burrito & soup of the day combo (I chose the pumpkin carrot ginger soup of the two on offer) and my wife ordered the falafel plate. I'd say hers was the better of the two, as my dish was on the bland side and rather lack substance. Her plate was heartier; the falafel and sauces it came with were the highlight. The place itself is nice, and perhaps we didn't order optimally, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the food.

Delicious vegan options. We tried this restaurant with a Santiago vegetarian friend. We ordered the chilango bean tacos. Very good ! And shared the seaweed ceviche. Also very good. Don't skip the dessert. The vegan frutos secos helado and vegan cheese cake is very good !

Love the food but not the wait time. It could be my own fault for not making a reservation first. I speak Spanish so I didn't ask if they have menu in English. I had California Vegana and organic tea, and to be honest, I literally had to guess and look up words in the menu: palta is aguacate (avocado), betarraga is betabel (beet), champiñón is hongo (mushroom), and poroto is frijol (bean)... it's like I don't even speak Spanish XD

Terrible , vegan food should not be boring . I had the tacos there and the filling was so bland , just smashed beans and that's all without any flavor . Their juices were blah blah and the salad were just plain salads nothing exciting . There are son many ways to make vegan Travis exciting . How about mixing beans , quinoa and pecans together and sauté then with onions , garlic , peppers ? Something to make them more exiting . The soups were good . The day I went two of the people my party didn't eat their food it was too bland . Sorry but I hope you guys improve your food . Costumer service was good and friendly .

This place was close to our hotel and saw it was highly rated on trip advisor. Please note the portions here are huge! But since we were on vacation, we had to try a few extra dishes. Ordered the CEVICHE DE ALGAS A LA PERUANA and MEZZE DEL MEDITERRÁNEO to share. Never had cerviche without fish, but it was pretty good. The mezze was also pretty good. Honestly, we could had just that for our lunch, but we ordered meals too. I ordered the INSALATA DI RISO. It was great. Everything is super fresh here. A must visit if you're vegetarian/vegan. Overall, the food was great, just don't order too much. I barely even ate a quarter of my salad.

Good food, however, my bag ,with all my belongings, was stolen while I was eating inside this restaurant. It seems to be a very sophisticated operation. Someone pretending to be a customer passed by my seat and grabbed it. One of the waitress, who saw the suspicious "customer", failed to give me a warning. El Huerto Restaurant should take better care of their customers. They are well aware that this type of operation runs in the zone. Otherwise a good experience, turned into a nightmare. My intention with this review is to do for everyone out there what this restaurant failed to do for me.

And I'm not even vegetarian. I wasn't sure what "el huerto" translated to so I just now Googled it: "the orchard." If this is an orchard, I want, at the very least, flowers from these fruits placed on my headstone. The engraving will read "Here lies the meat-eater who once fell in love with an eggplant quiche," complete with a coupon holder for a free sample. (Hint hint?)

Absolute gem! I travel to Santiago quite frequently and this is my new favorite. Loved the Ceviche. The hummus wasn't what I'm accustomed to, but my friends liked it. Kind of a mash potato consistency. The tikki masala is 2nd to none. Get the Indian sampler just for that dish. I wish they offered it alone. I'll be back here a bunch.

After 16 days in a foreign land, no matter how good the food of that country is - you start craving for some comfort food. After 16 days in South America, hubby and me were craving some Indian food. The nearest Indian restaurant was around 5-6 miles from where we were staying, so we decided to give this restaurant a try, based on the recommendation of our hotel. This was a vegetarian place which is a 10 min walk from the Sheraton Hotel in Santiago. It is located on a beautiful street lined with a few boutique stores and a few restaurants which all have seating outside on the patio. We opted to sit outside and were very surprised to find a Indian thali on their menu - it was completely unexpected. We decided to order that and we also ordered the hummus and pita. We ordered the Carmenere wine to go along with the food. The Indian thali included some paneer masala, dum aloo, veggie pulao, raita and a chutney. The food was delicious. It was rich, decadent and flavorful - something we did not expect Indian food to be in a Chilean restaurant. We were blown away by how well it was prepared. We spoke to the owner of the place and he said that his partner is the one who designs the menu and decides what food to serve. I think this is a haven for vegetarians who are visiting Chile and if you are craving some Indian food on your trip - this place is a great choice

Food is good would give it 4 to 4.5 stars but had negative experience with service. Server brought the wrong check before I was done eating. Then brought the correct one and asked me to pay it before I was done eating. I had ordered takeaway food and so calculated tip based on my in restaurant meal. Then she tried to charge me a higher amount than what I told her and argued with me about it. I cancelled that charge and put in the original amount I told her. Do not like shady behaviour. Would consider takeout only next time, or find another vegan restaurant to try...

We absolutely loved El Huerto... the food was great, the staff super helpful and friendly and the restaurant environment was casual and peaceful. The only thing we didn't enjoy on the menu was the seaweed ceviche (just not to our taste)... but everything else hit the mark. A definite must visit if you are a veggie visiting Santiago!

Traveling to Chile with a non alcohol drinking vegetarian was a pain in the rear. Every meal we ate consisted of pisco sour, wine, chicken/fish and potatoes. She ate potatoes and plain lettuce for 90% of the meals. Thank God we found El Heurto! Any non group meal, we went to El Huerto. The small menu consisted of eggs scrambled with vegetables and potatoes with vegetables. It was a welcome change from every other meal consumed. El Heurto also had a variety of decent non lager beer! A meal without wine was a welcome surprise. If you want to take a break from standard fare, visit El Heurto.

This restaurant proves that it is still possible to find original vegetarian food in Santiago. The menu offers a good blend of international cuisine rearranged to fit the credo of the house: healthy and tasty. A fusion of Middle Eastern (hummus, taboulé), East Asian (tofu, soya, sesame) and Chilean (guacamole, vegetarian ceviche) flavours makes for a varied and delicious menu underpinned by fresh and healthy options. The calm and relaxed atmosphere is perfect to enjoy some quiet moments and regenerate positive energy to tackle more of Santiago's treasures.
