Detroit’s Best Seafood Restaurants | Eater Detroit

"Got a craving for mariscos but not in the mood for eating at a sit-down restaurant? Look no further than El Imperio, a seafood-centric food truck that’s reliably parked across the street from the Huntington Bank on West Vernor Highway. Giant styrofoam cups of shrimp cocktails, to-go platters of oysters in a half shell, ceviche-topped tostadas, and even aguachile are all available at El Imperio. All choice options for hot summers in Detroit." - Serena Maria Daniels

Fantastic steak tacos at a fair price. Good chicken tacos and sauce too.

The shrimp and octopus cocktail is one of the best I've had . It is my go-to all of the seafood there is good . Haven't had their tacos, but I do see a lot of people ordering them. It's definitely worth trying .

Came here because the reviews said it was good, but let me tell you it’s not. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and aguachiles, they tasted like water, they were so bland and unseasoned. I returned it to the guy and he seemed confused, He said it was made fresh that same day. I said yes thats fine but it tastes like water. I still paid full price because he didn’t offer to refund me which is ok , I took the full order and gave it to some guys eating there. La neta esta bien malo alv.

Absolutely amazing great tasty food in the dead of winter. Very professional. Had the dinner corn taco combo with rice and beans. The rice is good, the beans are great topped with delicious cheese. Corn tacos with chicken was amazing, the corn taco fajita was amazing, the corn tacos mixed meats was not good. The mild green sauce rocked. Posted pics.

The food is pretty good, but it is the lack of professionalism that chafes. I speak a little Spanish and I know that people other than Mexicans are charged a different price. Others can get as many shrimp 🌮 as they want. Whenever I arrive I have to get 3 of them. I tried to discuss with the truck worker who acts like he can't understand English. Will never come back.

I've only had the asada and al pastor tacos but they are so good! Fresh and good meat. . Not alot of fat. The al pastor is not drowned in sauteed onions like other taco trucks tend to do. Cant wait to try their shrimp cocktails.
