DO NOT ORDER FOOD!!!
My boyfriend took me here for the Super Bowl (HUGE MISTAKE). I am surprised there aren't many bad reviews about Super Bowl day. The only thing everyone was talking about that day was the horrible job the restaurant did at showing the game. The service was good, and the drinks were fast and delicious, but never, ever order food at this place. We ordered nachos, and it took 45 minutes for our food to arrive at the table. Tables next to us were taking 45 minutes to an hour for three little flautas and a few tacos. Fun fact: They had three cooks working in the kitchen that day, and they were preparing food for at least 200 to 300 people in the restaurant. Three people in the kitchen cooking for 300 people. Please DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE. Now let's talk about the game. We sat outside, and "the owner" of this restaurant was setting things up. We knew he was the owner because people were referring to him as the owner of the restaurant. He was helping set up some white screens and some projectors to show the big game, Well, we couldn't see anything. He left, and everyone outside was just staring at a white piece of cloth. They installed two of these things, by the way, and you couldn't see a thing on any of them to save your life. "No problem," my boyfriend said, "let's move to the bar and watch the Super Bowl game. We're already here." There were only two TVs, and we couldn't hear anything. Then a woman arrived with an iPad, and they connected the iPad to the restaurant speakers, I believe. It had a 10-second delay, and it sounded like they were playing the game on a walkie-talkie, This was so laughable; everything went wrong. We couldn't enjoy the halftime show. The TVs were showing something, and the audio was in a big delay, cutting in and out. It's like a bunch of kids are running this place.
Ok, but everyone deserves a second chance right??
Well, here is my experience tonight for Valentine's Day.
I made my boyfriend take me here again because it is so pretty, and maybe this is not a sports bar, so we shouldn't judge them as such, I said.
Well for valentine's day, the restaurant was packed; main patio and both sides of the street were open for business, they had a DJ and some people were dancing. We had to wait in line to get in. There was a beautiful Valentine's decoration in the front of the restaurant for everyone to take a picture, plus you got a free rose. Ok, it seems like they have everything under control this time. Everything looks so organized and pretty, the drinks are delicious, servers are amazing with big smiles, and the bartenders are fast! And then we made the horrible mistake of ordering food again. We ordered papas puercas (sweet potato fries with pork on top) and a quesadilla nortena (flour tortilla, cheese and carne asada). We had to wait ONE HOUR for our food to arrive at our table, if you were wondering if was only us? of course it wasn't only us, all the other tables next to us were furious, would you like to know how many cooks they have working for such a busy day?? They had 3 cooks AGAIN!!!!!!!. They ruined Super Bowl day for my boyfriend and they ruined valentine's day for me.
We are never coming back to this place, and we are never recommending this place to anyone in fact we would make people aware of what an awful kitchen they have, I said it before and I will say it again: NEVER ORDER FOOD AT EL JARDIN.
