This place is like stepping into a taco shop in Mexico. Legit Mexican restaurant. Tacos were great. Cold ones to wash'em down. Red and green salsa to try. The green one is 🔥

This was by far the best Mexican food I’ve had in ATL. I had the barbacoa dish with agua de horchata. Mannn, SOOO good!! I’m so happy with my order. I Uber eats it & the food came quickly. Thank you so much for the salsa verde!! Super happy with my food. Tortillas a mano too?!! Man made me super happy.

Such a good place to go eat! Love the staff and how they’re so friendly! Food is always made fresh and made as expected. Love how it’s family owned and it shows! Also love how they keep it clean and place always looking good. Their micheladas are always always 10/10 !!! Recommend if you’re looking for a good authentic Mexican restaurant!

The Burrito was Huge! There were no diet drink choices. The Steak Tacos were really good. The burrito I ordered was not supposed to have potatoes, but it did. Overall I recommend this place because the server was very friendly and personable and the place was packed with local customers that seemed to be regulars.

Chicken soup was delicious. Also had cheesedip w/chicken. Everything was worth it. Service was great too.

Consomme has to be purchased separate from the birria tacos. Everything was low on salt. No diet coke or sugar free beverage options. Overall it was just ok.

I just ordered the birria tacos and my "beef" looked like the images. What is that, porcupine meat? It almost made me sick looking at it. It also smelled funny. In full disclosure, I haven't had a problem in the past. Maybe beef prices are getting too high. Just be careful.

Food was delicious! 😋 our waitress was nice and attentive. Got tacos de carne asada, birria tacos and camarones a la diabla.

muy decepcionado con mi orden pedimos 2 tortas de milanesas de pollo y nos dieron casi nada de pollo y casi nada de papas fritas en fin con una misma milanesa me cobraron dos tortas de lechugas llamé para reclamar y nadie me pudo ayudar .. muy mal...

I have ordered from here 7 times on Uber, not even counting the times I came in and ordered. OMG best birria in the area! Hands down. I crave it Always good , good portions, and always amazing service when I go in. I actually drive 20 mins just to get it lol.

Idk why this place isn't more busy, it's really good! My dad got the enchiladas y yo las flautas and i actually finished them (i normally don't) Their aguas frescas are actually made from scratch and not powder. Try this place yall, as a Mexican i can confirm it's good lol

Tried the barbacoa sopes, excellent! Chips and salsa were good along with good service. I went during Covid and the team is wearing masks and taking precaution. Def authentic! I will def be back!

This place is so good. Enormous grilled burritos, birria tacos, gorditas...They're all great. This place is a gem. Best birria in Atlanta...only a few options here, but they are the best.

WOW. I was on the hunt for authentic tacos and El Jefe popped up on Uber Eats. After seeing their reviews/photos here I decided to play my bets on this for dinner. I ordered 3 steaks tacos and the queso dip. I don't know how to explain how great the food was! The tacos were AMAZING. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, I received enough limes for all my tacos, a grilled jalapeño and some grilled onions on the side!! I don't think I've ever had bad queso so this one was no exception to that but they did give a large amount with a decent amount of chips which was great. The size of the tacos are so big I was full after about 1.5 and I ordered 3 as that's my usual amount that I need to be full. They also don't skimp on meat, I actually had meat left which I ended up using to make nachos with the chips and queso. Def can't wait to eat here again!!!

This was my first time eating here and let me tell you, I was definitely impressed with the presentation, quality, and overall taste of their food. To be honest this food is better than any place I have been around the Atlanta metro. Go check it out for yourself, you will not be disappointed!! You're welcome!!

Terrible. Ordered through Uber Eats and cheese dip was less than half full and sent with no chips. Avocados on sandwich weren't ripe, fries were old and soggy and on top of all that I got sick from what I did eat. Ugh.

This is an excellent, authentic Mexican restaurant. The tacos are wonderful. Cannot wait to try more of the menu. The do have beer but no liquor right now. Definitely worth giving a try.

The burrito is on point. It's huge. The chicken was well seasoned and tender. I didn't need to add rice, beans or cilantro as I usually have to at other places because those are included. The birria taco also very good.

All i have to say, is I walked in yesterday and asked the woman at the counter something and she started laughing and talking to her coworker, so after I continued to be ignored I said nevermind then and walked out. So I can't really write a review about the food, but I sure can write a review about bad attitudes.

Smells like an airport bathroom. Would not recommend. Smell overpowers taste of food. Go elsewhere. Honestly nothing else bad to say other that the smell. Sorry :/

If you're looking for some authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go. This is my go to spot when I'm looking for some tacos, gorditas or even their daily specials. Everything is fresh and made to order.

Best authentic Mexican I've had outside of Mexico! Seriously. Their food is always super fresh and the staff is super cool and friendly. I go out of my way just to come here anytime I'm craving Mexican!

About a year ago I started having to commute to Marietta for work, and after passing this place a couple of times I'm SO glad I finally decided to stop here before I made the trek home! The food is authentic, the vibe is relaxed and the people are great! This is a not-so-hidden gem you should definitely check out if you're in the Marietta/Smyrna area.

El Jefe has super fresh, authentic Mexican food. My husband is from California and doesn't like any Mexican food in Atlanta, but he loves this place. The decor is minimal and it is a little hard to find but the food is well worth it. It recently opened and I have already become a regular!

I stopped in here while waiting for an alignment at Firestone across the street. I didn't order too much but they were super friendly here. Pretty casual air down setting and the steak tacos here are great. Definitely would come back.
