"Move over working from coffee shops. It’s time to work from taquerias. El Lado Taco in Astoria invites diners to do just that, while eating breakfast tacos or regular ones. The tortillas—both corn and flour—are made in house, and they promise strong wifi. The tacos are served simply with onions, cilantro, and salsa." - will hartman, bryan kim
"For excellent breakfast tacos, head to El Lado in Astoria. Served on your choice of handmade corn or flour tortillas and piled high with fluffy eggs, these tacos (starting price $3.25) defy the rising cost of your weekly dozen. Get three tacos and they’ll also throw in a cup of coffee. Just make sure the El Buen Dia with spicy longaniza is in the mix. El Lado also has wifi and plug points for a morning coffee-taco-laptop situation." - bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, willa moore, will hartman, sonal shah, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, will hartman, bryan kim, willa moore, willa moore, will hartman, bryan kim, sonal shah, will hartman, will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpat
"A morning visit to El Lado Taco results in both time and money well spent. Order any three breakfast tacos—on your choice of homemade corn or flour tortillas—and you’ll get a free cup of coffee, which you can sip slowly at the counter or a small table. If you want to do work there, no worries—they offer wifi and charging stations too. You could stop by for brunch or dinner, but the breakfast tacos, loaded to the gills with fluffy eggs, are where El Lado really shines. Order one or two at a time and eat them hot, right off the plancha. Food Rundown photo credit: Will Hartman El Buen Dia Our favorite of the breakfast tacos. Spicy longaniza mixes perfectly with the eggs. Get it on flour, and drown it in chipotle peanut salsa. photo credit: Will Hartman Migas Another hit, with sweet, stewed peppers and those same great eggs, topped with crumbled tortilla chips. We like this one on corn. photo credit: Will Hartman Costillas For a meatier option, go for the costillas. The sweet porky flavor of the hyper-tender rib meat goes really well with the salsa verde and corn tortilla. photo credit: Will Hartman Al Pastor We weren’t crazy about this al pastor. The meat is a bit tough, so we stick with the costillas instead." - Will Hartman
