21 Picture-Perfect Hotels in Mallorca, From Historic Castles to Wellness Hotspots

"With a sky-skimming infinity pool—the longest in Palma—bringing the Balearic sea right up to the feet of the Balinese sunbeds, El Llorenç’s rooftop is glorious. Around the corner from Palma’s historic hammams in Parc de la Mar, this hotel refracts the medieval heritage of its La Calatrava location through an ultra-contemporary lens. Swedish designer Magnus Ehrland used 27 different geometric tiles in the space, all versions of the Arabic star. During construction, architect Pedro Rabassa found an 11th-century Moorish oven in the foundations. Ehrland designed without dogma, freely adding botanical splashes: local Santanyi stone pillars and Versailles-style parquet floors are playfully mixed with quirky, palm-print carpets, peacock chairs, and feather headdresses. Sense of place is established with photographs of Palma, an exotic green-tile basement pool and hammam, and Tannur restaurant, which serves up hearty Mallorcan food. Meanwhile, DINS is a fine-dining experience by island chef Santi Taura, who deconstructs historic local dishes." - Roxy Kavousi-Walker, Stephanie Rafanelli

El Llorenç Parc de la Mar - Adults Only (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Palma de Mallorca is full of extravagantly romantic, old-world-inspired luxury hotels, all of them drawing on both Spanish and Moorish traditions. Not to say there wouldn’t be room for one more excellent one, but El Llorenç Parc de la Mar adds another twist or two to Palma’s rich cultural cocktail. Here designer Magnus Ehrland incorporates modernist furniture and geometric lines, but not in the minimalist way you might have expected half a generation ago — this hotel is warm, eclectic, and full of visual interest." - Tablet Hotels

We couldn't be more pleased with this hotel. It is our second stay in 3 years. We had some unusual medical emergencies and they took care of us like we were family. I would like to live there! The food is great, the rooms are perfect, the massage was wonderful. Most of all.....the staff goes 110% out of their way to make you happy. I particularly want to commend Claudia and Massimo but ALL of the desk staff was above and beyond!!!

Excellent hotel within walking distance to the best parts of Palma. The hotel rooms are stunning and stocked with le labo products, but seriously the service at the hotel is so good. Anytime we needed a cab, they had one for us in less than 5 minutes, they had tips for amazing food spots and day trips, and helped with little things like breaking bills etc. Personally, I needed their help after checking out due to forgetting some items in the hotel and at a local spot. They coordinated the delivery of the items to the hotel and set me up with a shipping process to seamlessly get my items back to me. They have been so incredibly helpful, and I can’t wait to come stay again!

This is the second time we've stayed at El Llorenc and again, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The staff was warm and welcoming upon arrival. The room was well appointed and the view of the sea was spectacular. We had breakfast daily, and their buffet and menu selections were top notch. They even had vegan menu options prepared especially for us.||The most amazing part of our stay was seeing so many staff members from our stay last September. A special thank you to Marta, our concierge on both visits. She is the warmest, most friendly and awesome person we could ask for. Marta is the absolute best! The rest of the staff were all so wonderful. I can't say it enough, the staff make this boutique hotel what it is, our only choice of hotel when we are in Palma!

LOVE this place. Boutique hotel where every detail is so carefully thought out; from design features, layout, super helpful staff, great food including really excellent breakfasts. Pool area is gorgeous with comfy beds overlooking infinity pool out to the sea. Lovely bathroom has a great layout; beautiful products too. Location is just minutes from the cathedral, 10 minutes into central Palma and only a 25 minute walk by the coast to the lovely village of Portixol.

Arriving at El Vicenc de la Mar by car was like a waking dream. The scenery is absolutely stunning. The hotel itself is a gorgeous, understated luxury property with outstanding amenities. By far the best part of the hotel is the staff. We were made to feel at home immediately and the entire staff made sure we wanted for nothing. Our concierge Cristina was awesome! We will definitely be back next year!

Every encounter with staff was super friendly and helpful. Exceptionally clean and well serviced establishment. Lovely rooftop pool and fantastic restaurant with the most charismatic manager. The location is great if you wanna be close to the Palma city center but still be on the water. Lovely walks at night nearby and a cool vibe all around.

My husband and I spent a great 2 nights in this gorgeous, adults only boutique hotel well located close to everything in Palma. Delicious, varied breakfasts and really friendly, helpful staff. Lovely little touches like complimentary water by the pool and le Labo bathroom products. Fab rooftop bar, restaurant and pool. Full use of the facilities and the spa to freshen up after check out and ahead of a late flight, which is really appreciated. Only complaint is that the hotel doesn’t have enough sunbeds for all guests - mostly fine in the morning but by lunchtime/early afternoon you’ll easily end up being disappointed - which is frustrating when you’re paying £400/£500 per night… Otherwise, gorgeous!

We recently stayed here for 3 nights and had a good time, but unfortunately a few elements of the hotel let itself down. To start with the positives: it's very well located and only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of Palma, the list of restaraunts recommended by the hotel were excellent, and the hotel/rooms itself are very nice and well designed. The nightly turn down service with chocolate and water was also a nice touch. ||Unfortunately, the area which requires improvement is the service. Whilst generally most staff were nice and friendly, they were not particularly proactive or helpful. There were no constant staff at the pool area and the staff at the roof bar did not check in, this meant that loungers stayed reserved for hours and there was no one to take drink orders/clear empty glasses. The pool area often ran out of towels and the complimentary water was not refilled. ||On our first day I asked a staff member what time we should get to the pool to get a seat (as there were none available) and he just told me he didn't know/it was always busy, which was disapppinting. The next few days the pool was clearly much quieter in the mornings so I'm not sure why he didn't say this. ||One morning they hadn't put towels on all the loungers and when I asked at reception (as the towels had all gone by 10.30am), it took them 30 minutes to bring more towels. ||On our last day we wanted to eat at the hotel restaraunt before our flight. The roof bar was serving downstairs due to weather and reception told us it was open. We stood around for 5-10 minutes and no one appeared. We eventually flagged down a member of staff who seated us. He then told us that only the snack menu was available until 1pm. We wanted something a bit more substantial due to our flight (e.g. we would have been happy with being able to order fries to go with the snacks), but there was no option for flexibility around this. This was disappointing as the normal pool menu serves this type of food from 11.30am and I believe the room service menu has all-day dining. There was no offer to accommodate us and it would have been very easy to do so, as we weren't after fine dining. ||Given this, we wouldn't recommend this hotel, as the service is so important.
