El Lodge, Ski & Spa, a Design Boutique Hotel Sierra Nevada, Spain

"This ski hotel is set in a charming, Nordic-style wood cabin, surrounded by the impressive mountains and ski runs of Andalusia’s Sierra Nevada. It offers rooms with hydromassage showers or baths. Enjoy a day on the slopes thanks to El Lodge’s excellent access to Maribel Ski Resort. Cable cars and ski lifts rise up to the peaks of Borreguiles and El Veleta from the hotel’s location at 2,100 metres above sea level. Once you have enjoyed the many local ski activities, return to El Lodge to relax. Here you will find a sauna, Turkish bath and hot tub. You can also choose to work out in the gym before sitting down to a meal in the on-site restaurant. The attractive, Finnish-style rooms all come with DVD players, and you can hire films from reception for free." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

El Lodge | Best places to stay in the Sierra Nevada, Andalusia

"High in the Sierra Nevada, surrounded by majestic mountain views, this chic woodsy Nordic-style hotel offers high altitude glamour. Perfect for active visitors, it offers a range of ski packages (including lessons for beginners), with direct access to over 40 pistes and a seductive apres ski scene in its cosy bar. Even if you don’t ski, you can dive into the Sierra Nevada’s only open-air, heated pool, then bask on the sun deck, or go for a deep massage in the spa, sink into the deep cushions of the leather sofas by the open fire in the lounge with a perfectly mixed cocktail, then drink in the surrounding beauty over a gourmet meal. We booked lunch on the Terrace and we’re so excited we made our whole day’s plans around it. It was lightly snowing all day. We arrived for lunch and were informed the terrace was closed. So we had to eat inside. The food was really pricy, and was fine. Not worth what we spent. I would have cancelled if we knew the terrace was closed. I assumed a skii resort would be used to snow and wouldn’t close on account of that. That said the service was really good, the waiters were really nice. The actually hotel is beautiful and cozy. I wouldn’t come back for the food tho… unless it was half the price 🙈

Truly an amazing experience, customer service was top notch. Every person we spoke to was very kind and helpful if needed. We only stayed for two nights in the deluxe room and it was cleaned every day. When we arrived our bags were taken immediately up to our room for us and they served us lunch while we waited for it to be ready. The food was amazing, for breakfast there were many options for any type of diet you had. There is a rental shop inside the lodge where you can buy or rent all the materials you need to ski or snowboard. The attendees were very helpful throughout the whole process. We were able to ski straight down to the gondolas and ski down over and over again On the day that we checked out they took our bags to the shuttle and gave us water before we left and took us all the way down to Nueva Plaza. Overall was a pleasant experience and would come back again if we were to be in spain.

Great sun deck for lunch on the slopes in the sunshine. Service a bit slow and cocktails pricey. But good vibe and best outlook in Sierra Nevada

We had an amazing stay at El Lodge over New Year. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Alejandro, who helped with our ski passes. NYE dinner was absolutely delicious. This was our first ski experience as a family and it was made very special by the staff at El Lodge. The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are well appointed and feel luxurious. We brought our dog and she was very happy here. Love the DJ on the terrace in the afternoons, where there is a great vibe. The ski room is very helpful with equipment and arranging lessons. The instructors we had, Helena and Miguel were brilliant. My son was snowboarding with Miguel. Thank you to all at El Lodge. We will be back soon.

We came for one night only not to ski but to experience the hotel and show our kids snow the first time.|First nightmare the traffic from the start of the mountin it took 3 hours to get up 20 or so KM as it was Saturday 10am peak time. |Arrived at hotel and its a lovely hotel. Beatiful room, facilities , location. Not their fault there was little snow.|Had lunch on the sundeck the burgers came out twice undercooked but they gave us the desserts for free. The prices of the drinks beware - bottle of Whispering Angel 84 euro, Roda1 red wine 127 euro . crazy expensive.|The heating in the hotel can do with being moderated as was super hot in the room and the kids club room.|Breakfast amazing quality. Parking service amazing.|One spoiler for the weekend was a guy walking around naked by the outdoor pool like he was in some kind of swingers club. When he got in the pool naked in front of my kids we shouted at him and he re-clothed but come on what are people like !!|Overall great trip, its expensive but worth it.

Best lunch place in the valley. Perfect views and cool vibe. But sorry to have seen the speed of service deteriorating so much over the years. If that gets fixed so I don’t have to leave the table and get my own beers or waiting for 25 minutes for a gin tonic or even 30 minutes for menus, then I will gladly increase my next review.

This hotel experience was sublime! The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the facilities are top notch. Filling your soul with the views on the lunch terrace makes me believe I’ve added another 10 years to my life. I absolutely loved my experience.

Yelp
This hotel has recently reopened after burning down a few years ago. It's brand new and it is fantastic. The decorations are amazing with tons of attention directed to every last detail. Can't say enough good things about the accommodations. Large flat screen tv, amazing bed, private Jacuzzi, and more. The service is decent, they bring you up and down from slopes entrance. You may wonder then why the 4 stars? The food at their restaurant is terrible, horribly overpriced and with mediocre service. I ordered lamb chops, medium rare, they came well done, the lentil soup was terrible, same for sashimi and my wife's fish was barely edible amd lacked flavor, lamb chops came with French fries that look like they came out of bag. I recommend this hotel to find a new chef immediately and at least learn to fry proper french fries and learn correct temperature of food. We didn't make a huge deal as the atmosphere is VERY stuffy and we had already turned back one of the plates. Another reason for 4 stars was one of the bell boys was going to get with concierge to get us recommendations for Granada, they never came. Overall, I highly recommend hotel, just don't eat there and don't expect consisted $500/day service.
