Took amigos here for their first time. Excellent food & service. Women owned & operated. Fantastic menu. Do not hesitate though check out this great location.

We came here for the dessert so we didn't get to try any of the food, maybe next trip. We really liked the rustic decor & the plants hanging all over the place. I fell in love with the café de olla & I'm now inspired to learn to make it cuz it was that good! Our dessert was the canasta de manzana, which is akin to an apple a la mode. When we visit our family again, I'd love to come back & try the food.

This is not the first time we have been there, the first time we did not have a reservation and they were full, so we had to find a different restaurant. The second time, we did place a reservation, and we really liked the food and beverages. This particular visit was great. The food was delicious, the place was very quiet and we loved the dessert! Wonderful place that we would love to visit again.

Third or fourth time here and their dishes are excellent. We had a tampiqueña which is meat and veggies. And, the pulpo was sooo good. They have open patio section, semi-open section and a closed section. The main chef was constantly check the areas. The only thing that didn’t have a good flavor was the horchata. The men’s restrooms are funny.

Excellent restaurant, you can go anytime and for any occasion, the food service and atmosphere is almost perfect, a place to meet up with friends and or go on a romantic date with your spouse, this is my wife's favorite place and I enjoy it also!!!!

Excellent restaurant! The food selection and quality is amazing. You can tell they have a great chef responsible for the menu. They offer a combination of Italian and Mexican rustic style food. The drinks were also amazing, did not have a chance to try dessert. The prices seemed fair and the only problem is parking and the crowd that forms, so its best to make a reservation. One of my favorite restaurants basing it just on the flavor and quality, will definitively return.

What a great experience! Fresh food. Great service (the waiters are amazing and went above and beyond). Large portions and so so many options. Gotta try them all!

It was simply delicious! We made reservations ahead of time. We got there way before time and they were already waiting for us. The overall feeling of the restaurant is filled with nostalgia and at the same time hipster and artsy, like a dream. The only negative point is the parking.

Stopped in at El Lugar de Nos and I'm still thinking about the food. I ordered the Tacos 84 (the meat is cooked for 84 hours!) and they were out-of-this-world good. Also tried the quinoa salad and a beet plate from the specials menu. Both were insanely delicious, with portions so big I couldn't even finish. The vibe inside is adorable. It's kind of shabby chic farmhouse, cozy but stylish. I had a spicy mezcal margarita that was smoky, refreshing, and came with a frozen watermelon garnish that was such a fun touch. Service was super friendly and attentive the whole time. Definitely recommend making a reservation since it gets busy. I'll absolutely be going back.

A lovely restaurant with homey decor, great food, and attentive service! Always stop by every time I am in town. All their dishes are aesthetically plated and there's a cute little gift shop on site as well!

This place was a GREAT find! It was about a 25 min walk from the Tecate Boarder, it was easy to find, and easy to navigate on Google Maps. When we walked up the stairs, we were immediately greeted and seated. The waiter was friendly and attentive even with a language barrier. They had a selection of local beers and mixed drinks. I opted for a local craft brew and my partner chose a margarita. Both were delicious and you can't beat the prices either. I would definitely recommend this place and I would return if we're ever back in Tecate.

We had to come back Second time was an even better experience. We walked in around 9:30PM and we were quickly seated. We were lucky and had Victor as our server once more. His suggestions were delicious. His attention to detail was outstanding. I tried the Ensalada de Nos and added shrimp. The salad was fresh. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and they tasted SO GOOD. Victor suggested we try the Tuna Tostadas...and ohhh man. Definitely coming back for that alone. The tostadas were so flavorful. My drink for the night was Aperol bubble. A mix of Jamaica and piña. Sweet and delicious. Love this restaurant

We are at Rancho La Puerta for a week. The food is fabulous but all healthy and portion controlled, so we went "over the wall" to sample what is considered the best restaurant in Tecate. Informal, funky, with very very good food. We were trying to use our restaurant Spanish and immediately mistook margarita fresa for fresca. After that we used the English menu and had a delicious dinner.

I was there this morning ,the place looks pretty,customer service and food was so good, I really recommend this place

En nuestro grupo teníamos pocos que son muy selectivos entonces decidimos en ir a un lugar que tenía variedad de platos para nuestro grupo de 10. !Ordenamos de todo! Salmón, pizza, pollo, panini y hasta camarones a la diabla y todo ¡¡¡SÚPER DELICIOSO!!! El servicio fue genial. ordenamos una pizza y cuando llego, no nos habíamos dado cuenta que era la pizza equivocada pero sin darnos cuenta, el muchacho nos trajo la pizza correcta y nos avisó que era un error y que la pizza no la cobraría. Muy honesto y generoso. De tomar tenían variedad de bebidas como agua frescas, refrescos, y bebidas alcohólicas claro.. y el ambiente estuvo estéticamente agradable.. muchas decoraciones y plantas alrededor de todo el restaurante.

Nos recomendaron este lugar cuando visitábamos Tecate por el fin de semana. Al llegar nos empezó a gustar el ambiente. El restaurante está muy bien decorado por dentro y fuera con un toque de la época clásica de México. Le espera fue de casi media hora por qué no tenía reservación pero valió la pena. Nuestro mesero fue un joven muy agradable y amable que se llama Said. Nos recomendó el Rib eye de 800 gramos con varias porciones de tuétano que estaban mucho mejor que lo que yo e probado en muchos otros lugares en los Estados Unidos. El peste fue el plátano cocido con helado y Nutella. También fue de lo mejor que e probado. Tengo muchas ganas de regresar y probar de todo lo que ofrecen aquí. Los precios son muy razonables y otra vez quiero agradecer a Said por tan buen servicio que nos rindió.

La calidad de la comida deja mucho que desear. Mi mesero me hizo sentir incomoda por solo pedir mi comida en base a mis dietas. 0 profesional El queso de la pizza que ordene estaba horrible. Overrated ! Si quieres ir a un lugar rico y de buena cálida ensamble.

The Jamaica salad was delicious but if they use less vinaigrette would taste even better. The panini was average. But more than anything, the service was outstanding. Thanks to our waiter Leonardo.

Took a day trip to Tecate Mexico. We decided to eat here. The atmosphere was unique, to say the least. Service was good, and food was better than what i expected. Delious items with a Mexican influence but not your typical style. Beautiful presentation, delicious taste, and an experience I'll never forget.

So good. Lots of options from tacos, pizza, pasta, steak, chicken, salmon. Menu in English and Spanish. Required to take temp, wash hands and sanitize phones prior to be seated. Friendly sever who was patient with us. Over all yummy.

This place is Amazing!!! Great food , drinks and customer service is on point . I live in California and cross over to Tecate just to go to this amazing place . Been here twice and can't wait to go here again . I recommend there shared meat platers and sangrias .

I'm very disappointed this place it was my favorite but now tha food it's poor quality it needs more attention from the owner she's a great chef and worst the waitress are unprofessional super slow personal

Restaurant is super cute, the ambiance is great and they play good music while dining. We got reservation on the same day. They take Covid precautions before they seat you, wash your hands, temperate check, disinfectant shoe pads. The food was tasty, and drinks were amazing. Food came in scatter but we didn't mind it as we were Sharing. Definitely need to stop in if in the area.

Pre-Covid visits summary: This restaurant has never disappointed me. I hadn't placed a review before because I'd forget by the time I got home. I've had a variety of cocktails - all good. I've tried a variety of meals - also all good. Staff has always been friendly and kitchen comes out with the food on a timely manner. Ambiance always a happy medium (lively but not too loud). Today's lunch experience: COVID cleanliness guidelines were impressive. Patrons are escorted to a nearby sink to actually wash it our hands and then are given a disinfectant wipe for our phones. Temperatures are taken and then one is escorted to a table where the hostess uses a spray disinfectant on the chairs. Our silverware and napkins are enclosed in a bag. Food: I had the aguachile de camarón and it was soooooooo delicious. I was very tempted to pick up the plate and slurp the leftover marinade/sauce and lick the plate until nothing was left, but I didn't want to embarrass my friend. The waiter was quick, courteous and his recommendations were on point. My friend ordered the tuna tostadas (also very yummy!). I ordered the ensalada tibia with grilled salmon (also so yummy!). If I could, I would've camped there until dinner time. I wish I took pictures so you could have delicious visuals...maybe next time.

What an amazing meal. The ribeye was cooked perfect. The service was perfect. The atmosphere could not be better. My new place to eat when in Tecate.

Cute Mexican ambience. Place has a lot of seats. We got two medium parillas which is for about five people. It consisted of chicken, meat, shrimp, quesadillas and guacamole. We also got two orders of potatoes which everyone loved but I thought they were ok pieces of potatoes with olive oil and cheese. We also got a shrimp risotto which was alright- I have had better. With the parillas be careful because for some reason everything is spicy. Not as spicy as I cant eat it but definitely not expecting that. But it was pretty good especially since the meat was not fatty. We also had the apple dessert which is kind of like a rustic apple pie a la mode. The dessert is huge and can definitely be shared. Cool place to come take photos in the parking lot :P. There is a security guard and a couple cats on the premise.

Excelent services, very attentive staff, delicious food ( see pictures above), great atmosphere. They take Covid procedure very seriously because you have to wash your hand, put sanitizer after that they spray your table down. The server explained with detail any questions you have. Most of all they don't rush you to leave , we stayed there around 3 hrs no hurry at all. I will go again but it is better if you have reservation the restaurant!

EXCELLENT!!!!! Celebrated my birthday and it was a great experience, the service and food fabulous Elisa our waitress was fantastic. We had the Tostadas de Borrego, Lengua y Pollo the desserts and coffee are a must, yummy cocktails too, great ambiance and atmosphere. I highly recommend it was worth the driving from TJ

This was the best meal I had on a weekend trip to Mexico. This place obviously knows what they're doing. The duck tacos, made in flour tortillas and served with mango, cucumber, and jicama on top, were spectacular. Spicy, moist, tender, succulent duck in an amazing Chile sauce. Caesar salad nicely presented with baby romaine, shaved parm and house made crouton. Pizza delicious and great portions. Don't miss it if you're in Tecate. Priced very reasonably and great service too

Food was amazing! Service was extremely slow. I came in on a Thursday and it was fairly empty and the server never came around after he took our order. I had to wave him down for the check and even then it took forever for him get back. He was standing around a stand laughing with his coworkers and eating. Will not be back again.

My husband and I frequently eat here. We had some friends coming to town and wanted to take them somewhere other than the traditional taco stands. The food is always delicious. I haven't had anything I didn't like. The service is good. They take a little too long to ask for drinks, but other than that every server will help you if you ask. They could use some heaters in the waiting area as well. Our friends took pictures of everything we ate and were very happy with everything. Can't wait to go back and try something nee.

Amazing. So many flavor combinations I'd never think to try, but they absolutely work! Service is great. Presentation is fantastic. Atmosphere is charming and eclectic. Such a fun location with delicious food! Phenomenal date location if you care to impress, especially on a budget.

Service was acceptable, the room is interesting and the food is exceptional. We're planning on going back as a foursome like the first time. This is one on many excellent restaurants in Tecate. I am no longer surprised about finding foodies in 'out of the way' Mexico. This restaurant alone is a good reason to take the drive. And you can walk there from the USA or cab.

I have been coming to this restaurant for the past four years and love it! The food, atmosphere, and prices are very worthwhile! It's a place for the whole family and all ages!!! They even have cats relaxing all over the restaurant. Their sanitation procedure was great too! You have to wash your hands prior to entering the restaurant and they give you a wipe to clean your cell phone too! They also spray the tables right before you sit down. The last time I went about 2 weeks ago I did ask for a bottle of water that was never brought to my table that I paid for so do be careful not to make my mistake. Also the waiter could have made more rounds to ask if we needed refills on our drinks, I had a party of 7 people. Other than those minor incidents I would still recommend visiting this restaurant while in Tecate!

This is actually an amaizing place. Most of the food is fenomenal!! I ordered the tuetanos. To die for!! Later, the requeson y Jamaica tacos, another delicatessen. Then the in love octopus...too fishy, I do not recomend that at all!! Reason why they gor the 4 stars. The service is very good as well as the ambiance. I do recommend this reataurant

Excellent ambiance! One of the more uniquely decorated restaurants that I've experienced. As for the food, it was cooked perfectly and the presentation was superb. The prices were more than reasonable. The cheese plate appetizer, two main courses, and 5 cocktails was about 65 USD. Two thumbs up

Very disappointed in food and service. Drove 2 hours from Mexicali Mexico to try the restaurant that I was told it was the best. We ordered what looked like chicken pizza and ribeye tostadas which was good but cold. Service was very poor had to keep asking for our server. The big deal was the hot apple pie desert well it was cold the ice cream didn't melt. First and last time

El mejor restaurante de Tecate, todos los platillos son exquisitos, no hay nada que no te vaya a gustar, la bebida de fresa con menta es un must para acompañar tu comida. First time coming here in a recommendation from a friend. Place was amazing. Food was great, service was excellent and the decor was amazing as well. Portions are very large and the prices are very reasonable. There ice creams were great as we fresh lemonade. All ingredients tasted fresh as could be. Needless to say I think we found one of our favorite places o eat in town.

We finally were able to try this restaurant. The food was good, but I think they forgot to bring us some things over. We ordered a Parrillada Mixta, and the meats were very good, but they were no tortillas or condiments such as salsas or limes to compliment the meal. Also, the waitress never came back to ask if we needed any refills or anything. I think they either needed additional staff or better trained ones. Friendly, but not very attentive.

I highly recommend this place. The service and food was excellent. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they allow dogs in the place and we had 2 small yappy dogs barking at each other right next to our table and the staff didn't say anything to them.

Delicious food and nice service, I ordered arrachera it was DELICIOUS, the ambience was familiar and cozy. My cousin recommended this restaurant and I don't regretted the almost 4 hours drive from Riverside. DEFINITELY y recommend this restaurant and I'll be back.

Wow! What a creative menu of delicious food. Walking in, I have never seen such diligence of sanitation and COVID protocol. We washed our hands and were led into the wonderful open dining area. Cocktails were exceptional. And then the food. OMG. So creative combos. We have hibiscus tacos and lamb tostadas. Damn! I couldn't believe the speed all the dishes at the table arrived. A truly wonderful experience. Thank you all.

This place is amazing since the minute you walk in. Sanitation is perfect. Food is incredibly good and tasty. Lots of drink choices. Service was great. Highly recommended.

Came here for a company meeting. Ordered a couple of appetizers, cheese platter and tacos. I UBER fell in love with the hibiscus tacos!! Most satisfying. For my main course I had the tomato soup and veggie ceviche, both were hands down YUMMIE!!! OK, so, I did go over board on ordering food but I brought it back home... Totally worth it! I wish I would have saved room for dessert =D Portions are perfect SIZED, next time I would only order the tacos. So much food. This places has everything, great food, fantastic service, & the decor is amazingly unique!! I just loved it.

I've gone a couple times during quarantine only for very special occasions. They are super clean (clean shoes, wash hands, sanitize, temperature check and clean phone before entering). Food is always delicious. We alway order the rib-eye steak which is our favorite.

The best hibiscus tacos!!! I highly recommend this place. I recently went with a group, so we order about 10 different dishes and they were all fantastic. The most memorable was the hibiscus tacos. Super impressed by the flavor and presentation.
