A variety of cuisines offered but really enjoyed the shrimp tacos from Cantina Esquina, the cocktail mixto from Isla Sirena, lechon tacos from La Carreta and the butter chicken curry. You will find something to satisfy your food cravings at El Merkado.

Google
One of the highlights of our trip is finding this gem! It is a 4 minute drive to where we were staying and we were looking for a pharmacy/convenience store nearby and chanced upon this place. I highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Cantina! Their tacos are to die for (posting a photo of what we ordered). I just asked what their best sellers were and we got this. It IS AMAZING. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Oaxaca! We ordered the mix and asado and they are great. The price was way cheaper than the others. We also tried other ones in the area but I highly recommend these two. The gelato place is also great - coming from us who just came from Italy 2 weeks ago. Their gelato is great. We ordered chocolate and caramel. Our toddler loved it. We also chanced upon a bakery called Bacca. Got the affogato and it’s neat. Will come back if we get a chance to!

Google
Cute little food hall. I got some great scallop ceviche at Isla Sirena! There were several other great options including Indian food, ramen, Mexican food, gelato, and more! Went around 1:00pm on a Thursday and it was pretty empty. Business seemed to pick up closer to 2pm.

Google
Fresh and relatively cheap food. Lots of options. Best margaritas we’ve had in Mexico at DE OAXACA. Wood fired everything, smells great.

Frankie

Google
This place is great, has something for everyone. We got sushi, so delicious and fresh! Margaritas, so delicious, great flavors. We got bone marrow and steak as well, very delicious. Pizza to take home, it was okay. But the tres leches cake... was amazing and the final stop in our food adventures. I would highly recommend El Merkado as there are so many options there you can't go wrong.

Google
We went to the sushi restaurant inside of Merkado. It was best ever. The Poke bowl and the Tuna tostada were amazing. The Tuna was like "buttah 🧈". Jessica the waitress went above and beyond!

Ley San

Google
My favorite sushi place!!!! Try Diego roll! And the Indian restaurant there is amazing!

Chris MacDonald

Google
We loved this place the atmosphere is fantastic. So many varieties of food and dessert places. We ended choosing Ground Burgers and everyone agreed the burgers were the best we had in a long time. Some staff didn't know much English but we still got exactly what we ordered.

Yelp
This food court was a breath of fresh air in a place with absolutely nothing else to offer. Being able to walk next door was a breeze. I liked the food offerings they had and they seemed to have food from a lot of different places. There were smoothies, tlyudas, bbq, beer and wine, sushi, fish and ice cream. They also have an art gallery and a cafe outside. There was a pizza joint. There were some fancy places that are attached - avoid! The service was great. They do have people at the front who work for the different locations and they try to talk you into going to their store. They have signs and such. I get a feeling that they have stalls opening and closing but they have a nice cross selection of food and I won't be staying in this area at all, but if in Cabo I'd take an uber to visit.

Yelp
Food was very good. It's indoors during hot weather. Prices are extravagant. It's a tourist trap for Americans who like throwing money away. There are only English speaking customers but the servers do not speak English. They didn't even speak Spanish. I showed him this on my phone and still got the waffles wrong.

Yelp
Everyone here is so nice and helpful!!! The food options here are so good that we have already been here three times this trip. I have tried the Italian place (love the pizza and mushroom ravioli), Hiro sushi is so fresh (the soft shell crab roll and the shrimp tempura with fried octopus on top is delicious), Isla Sirena had really good shrimp ceviche and hibiscus margarita. And the Asian noodle place has really good Garlic noodles w/pork and shrimp dumplings. It's cute inside and there is outside seating. Want to try the burger joint and grill place - steak and fries are next.

Yelp
El Merkado, situated a stone's throw from Palmilla, stands out as a culinary haven with its diverse array of food stalls offering everything from succulent sushi and authentic Italian to fresh salads, a lively sports bar, and a variety of Mexican delights. The abundance of options ensures there's something to satisfy every palate. With ample parking and plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, visitors can enjoy their meals in comfort and style. To top off a fantastic dining experience, the charming little ice cream spot offers the perfect sweet treat for dessert.

Yelp
Staying at a nearby resort, I really didn't care for the onsite food and wanted to find some local food options. Asking the concierge, he pointed me to this cool marketplace with a few shops, a few standalone restaurants, and a nice little food court. While on my trip, I came here three times and were able to try a bunch of things. My favorite items were Bone Marrow w/ Corn from Bacān Parrilla de Alberto, the special Tlayuda from La Carreta Los Cabos, and finish it off with an Affogato from Ufficio Cafe. There are other options inside the food court, including another Mexican option, an Italian trattoria, two Japanese sushi restaurants, a burger joint, a dessert shop, and few bars to get your tequila fix on. We also tried one of the two fancier restaurants outside of the food court. Carbón Cabrón is a restaurant that used mesquite wood for grilling various food over fire. The food was upscale and the prices reflected that. The other restaurant upstairs is Mediterranean. If you are staying on resort row between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Cobo, then this marketplace will be perfect for those days/nights when you are not in the mood to go far, but want something more local to satisfy your taste buds.

Yelp
Terrible experience at El Merkado! Specially at the mexican restauran The waitress didn't even bother to look up at us, she just said "no service" while staring at her phone. No greeting, no apology, nothing. It was like we were invisible. The lack of attention and basic customer service was shocking. Needless to say, we left and won't be back. If you value your customers, needs to do better than this."

Yelp
Absolutely brilliant idea that will flourish in this busy tourist area, El Merkado has a variety of food stops in a funky setting. Reminds me a bit of many existing food halls in Los Angeles and New York, and places that have sprung up to imitate them. There's a lot going for this airy open dining hall. It's plusses far outnumber a few "wish it were different ." - Star: Parking is 2 hours with a ticket and then there is a fee. Your Uber will want to drop you off & pickup outside the gate. + Star: everyone at all the food stands is delightful and chatty, trying to get you in to buy from them. But ... - Star: many places are one-person staffed and as such, you will have a goodly wait. Practice your patience, amigo. + Star: delightful and unexpected non-alcoholic beverages at ElBeerShop manned by lovely Jose. This enthused proprietor introduced us to his non-alcoholic special drinks like a bubbly and exotic rosemary kombucha as well as a forcefully spicy ginger ale. - Star: we wanted mole but La Carreta had no non-meat (not even fish) options. I wanted to chat with the staff person to see if there were some modifications we could make, but she flat out ignored me (with the focused "I'm working on someone else's order" vibe that I got from a few others so far in the joint). So we'll never know of we can try a side of mole with tortillas. + Star: two sushi joints. But we were afraid as we both hadn't eaten much yet that day and wanted to line our stomachs first. Akira sushi and Barra Japonesa both had delightful looking plates of food. - Star: What we ate at Esquina Cantina was just not so great. We each had a plate of three tacos with a side of beans. The tacos were mediocre. They came with blue or regular corn tortillas. We tried the blue were very thick but probably the best part of the meal. The filling of shrimp (camerones) what is the most tasty but there is nothing except shrimp. No greens, no pico de gallo. Same with the other tacos which was especially disappointing when one of the tacos was with cheese. To pay the equivalent of $20 for these two plates of food felt like a rip off. We wanted frozen ice pops from Green & Sweets but there was again only one attendant and three people waiting and we didn't wanna spend the time. There's indoor seating where they leave the large garage style doors open to get fresh air from outside. There's also outdoor seating. Mask policy was very relaxed. The most fun is the variety of stores and galleries in the surrounding outer courtyard. Though many were closed, we did get to go into the stunning Ginocchio Gallery. Don't miss it! TL/dr: tasty fun concepts but bring your patience.

Yelp
Conceptually, the Merkado is a great idea. My family and I enjoy different types of food and we don't often agree on what to eat, so we find ourselves compromising quite a bit. However, this food hall or public market allowed us to curate our own meals and satisfy our individual desires. With that being said, many of the restaurants appeared to be closed for business, so the options were limited. We had breakfast at the Pancake House and it wasn't that great at all. The pancakes were mediocre, the quality of the food was fair, and honestly, we regretted eating there. The Oficiado coffee spot was the real deal! I was sooo happy to satisfy my long awaited craving for a decent latte with oat milk. At this point, I probably won't return unless there's an overhaul. We visit Cabo at least every couple of years if not more frequently.

Yelp
Used to like this place. Now, they have no air conditioning. They close early and still have to pay to park. Way too much work for mediocre food. Prices, drinks and beer are way too high to sit in a sweat bath. They should pay your parking if you are eating there. Way too many other places to eat that are much more comfortable

Yelp
A great addition to Cabo! This place is awesome to find some good eats and hang! Great place to drop in if you are staying around the area. Very clean and tons of options for different food and drink. Good and clean service m! Dog area outside. Parking lot as well

Teresa M.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I stayed in San Jose Cabo and I frequented the spot daily because of all the different restaurant options you have within the Merkado. My favorite being the super healthy, vegan spot all the way to the back after you enter and make a right, I forgot the name! Best açai bowls, that are huge and amazing smoothies! The food bowls are phenomenal. I literally wish I could've stayed longer in Mexico just to keep eating here. I also loved the Mexican restaurant that's located right when you enter they have very good mole ! I didn't get a chance to try the Japanese restaurant, but it always looked crowded so it definitely was popular. Just too risky to eat anywhere else other than that vegan spot lol.

G P.

Yelp
Fantastic food court with nice ambiance. Hiro Sushi was beyond delicious - from the seared sashimi to the rolls, it's worth the drive. El Mercado has over 1/2 dozen spots with a variety of food, everything looked appealing. But Hiro is a must try if you're in the area and love sushi. Service was very good, too.

Darrell M.

Yelp
The food was delicious. This was really some of the best sushi I've ever had. I will certainly return here on my next trip.
google avatar

Yelp
Food court with various options to choose from including bars that are good enough to get you going but nothing remarkable. A good option to eat here is definitely the Oaxacan place, their tacos were fire. I also tried another spot but the food was subpar so I'd go back to get some Oaxacan style tacos again who by the way had a good service too.
google avatar

Shani W.

Yelp
Big open indoor space with a lot of food options. The vegan food we had was only ok, but I can't remember the name of it, unfortunately. Also, there are a ton of flies pestering when the food comes out, even though it's indoors. My review is mostly for the popsicles from the Green and Sweets stand! I couldn't find them on yelp, so writing it here. They have a large selection of ice pops, many of which are vegan. They tasted like fresh fruit, and were perfectly refreshing!

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
The Merkado is a great collection of restaurants with many options of food to choose from. We went with the Esquina Cantina which was a great option but there were many options to choose from.
google avatar

Tunaidi A.

Yelp
El Markado is a cool market in the area with a variety of vendors. If you're situated right smack in between San Lucas and San Jose, there aren't many food options, so the joints within El Merkado might be your best bet. Food ranges from Mexican to meats to Italian to Japanese to desserts.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Dont buy pizza there. It is really bad. I have gotten 2 large and they where so bad, they dont even use mozzarella cheese.

Marguerite W.

Yelp
Quality restaurants with fresh offerings and great service. My friend had vegetarian tacos topped with mole from the Oaxacan restaurant (forgot the name) and I had sushi. We were both super happy.
google avatar

Yvette A.

Yelp
We found this place on Yelp. It's a cute food court. A little confusing as all the restaurants have people waiting at the entrance to grab you and give you their menus. We did stick to the restaurant that sat us first. It's open seating and several places to order from. The food was good a bit on the pricey side... We will go back next time and try a different restaurant, now now that we know you can order from several.. Give this marketplace a try if in the area.
google avatar

Lauren K.

Yelp
This new comer to Cabo brings so much to the area. This food hall offers about 15 food stalls plus shopping. Yes, it's insta worthy. And then some. The hall offers an intimate experience where locals and tourists belly up to the counters to enjoy classic comida along with local beers and American, Italian, Japanese and Greek Foods. Open daily to 11pm.
google avatar

Chi G.

Yelp
I truly don't understand the great reviews for this place. I felt dooped. They are clearly paying for fake 5 star reviews. Don't waste your time/money.
google avatar

Yelp
Fiyah!!!! We were recently in Cabo and did an all inclusive resort. Being foodies, being stuck on a resort with the same restaurants gets old so we ventured out! Such a cool space with so many options and friendly folks! Wish we had more people so that we could try more of the restaurants. Got thit bone marrow -- two bones for $9! The heck!!! And we snagged a "tlayuda", which was amazing. Kiddos got burgers and fries. Lame.

Carolina O.

Yelp
El Merkado is such a cool dining concept! We ate at Bacan, the steakhouse, and the food was incredible. Such big portions of meat with amazing flavor for less than what we pay at restaurants that serve way smaller portions. We had the pork, picana and chorizo plus eggs on a bed of fries. We left with very happy bellies.
google avatar

Jodi W.

Yelp
There are several places to eat here. It's very similar to a food court. There was a taco place, Japanese, Italian, sushi, ice cream, etc. We've learned when in another country to not expect anything to be top notch unless it's local cuisine. So we stuck w the tacos and man was that a great decision!! See photos. We also got a pineapple smoothie and strawberry smoothie. They weren't as sweet as what we are used to. But that's probably a good thing!
google avatar

Taylor T.

Yelp
Tried this place 3 times while we visited. The variety of food choices was very helpful for us and our child. We ordered tacos, chips and salsa and guacamole which was all very good. (for our child pizza and fries and he loved it. Said the pizza was one of his favorites he's ever had ) one time went back to try the sushi and got a California roll. It was delicious. We also had our son try the Mac n cheese and he did not like it. Overall a great find.

Yelp
This place is the bomb diggity! We came here for dinner 3 nights in a row while in Cabo . It's 2 minutes ride from the Westin Hotel. We kept coming back to try out different food from all the places in this food court. Everything was delicious. People were so friendly . We tried La Osteria for tapas , and their berry mojitos, the grilled Octopus here was really good . the office has good Tatema tacos and tostadas . The Oyster for their crab tacos and 7 Mares soup . The Tacos place next to Oyster bar has the best Jicama shrimp tacos . Yum Yum . We also tried the Akira sushi place downstairs and it was delicious as well . This was my favorite part of the trip, to be able to blend in with the locals and enjoy the best local authentic food . I'm still dreaming about It...oh see you next time , El Mercado

Saul G.

Yelp
Good selection of food , the ambience familiar and nice location is nice and good service from all types of food selection restaurants

Yelp
This place is amazing. Located next to the hotel an hospital where my sister was. It's very convenient for people who stay in the hotel who have family or friends in the hospital. Ok As soon as you walk in you are smelling all the smells from all the different food places. It's nothing what you would expect. There were two floors of places to eat and places to shop. They have everything from ice cream, sandwiches to Mexican Food to American food, Italian food and breakfast. So you are sure to find something. Even if you're in the area and you're just driving by it's a great place to stop and eat and look around. A lot of times they will have tents set up in the foyer with people selling stuff. Tried several places in there and they were all great. The Italian place was definitely our favorite. An everyone was very nice an helpful.
google avatar

Susanna T.

Yelp
Lots of fun! Many vendors to choose from, something for everyone. Reasonable prices. I got sushi and it was delish! Also enjoyed a latte from the coffee shop for a few mornings in a row.
google avatar

Jody T.

Yelp
Ok. This place is great fir families with picky eaters. The selection is amazing. We had sushi which was sone of the best ever eaten. There are two sushi bars here, one is terrible, while the other is amazing. Can't remember the name of it but it is on the left side nearly next to the front door. The other one is I. The back. Stay away. Quality was poor, yes, we tried both. Also we ate upstair at a cool bar and they brought the food to us. So we could enjoy sitting wherever. Prices were good too. So many places in Cabo are soooo expensive these days. You will definitely get your monies worth. Also, drink the passion fruit margarita at the bar upstairs. Fresh passion fruit and too shelve tequila that is reasonably priced unlike the cocktails at sone of the resorts in the area.
google avatar

Shrmn R.

Yelp
We visited here twice when were in Cabo and this place has the best food ever! We had BBQ and best tacos. Definitely recommend here if you're visiting Cabo. Parking is 2 hours for free.

Jake E.

Yelp
What a gem for San Jose del Cabo. Amazing food and variety and excellent service.
google avatar

Shelley D.

Yelp
This little gem on the way from the airport to San Jose or Los Cabos is a great place to stop and get a quick bite to eat. A giant instaworthy food court, the stores are on two floors. It's got indoor and outdoor space and all of the food was very cheap. A good mix of tourists and locals.
google avatar

Daniel Q.

Yelp
My wife and I first time staying in Los Cabos. After spending about $80 for 2 burgers and 2 drinks at our resort (Hilton Los Cabos) we knew it was time to step out and see what food Cabo had to offer. That's when we found EL MERKADO. An urban modern food court. They have about 20 different places you can try. Very very nice atmosphere. No one is trying to HOUND YOU trying to convince you they have the best food and best prices like some places in downtown Cabo. Very welcoming atmosphere. Meat, fish, seafood, groceries, fruit, vegetables, baked goods, wine, freshly pressed juices, artisanal pizzas, fresh pasta, Mediterranean food, a cantina, and a coffee bar are part of what this amazing place has to offer. We stayed for 5 days at our resort and came here about 4 times. For lunch , dinner , and drinks. Highly recommend the Oyster bar if you like Ceviche.
google avatar

Malia R.

Yelp
Definitely worth a stop! We took the public bus from the Hilton- drops you off right at front. So many choices but went with Big Tony's- you will not be disappointed at the size of portions or the prices!
google avatar

Karri V.

Yelp
El Merkado is a building with several different restaurants inside. The building is large, parking is free and the restaurants have a great variety of food and beverage options. Our favorite restaurants from El Merkado include the sushi restaurant, the oyster bar and Carbon Cabron. They have a few shops in the outdoor area as well, including a surf shop for clothing and a small drug store. The cool thing about this place is that you can pick and choose where you want to eat from and because there are so many varieties of foods available, every guest in your party should leave satisfied.
google avatar

Vicki D.

Yelp
I really did loved the Italian place. We ordered a large meat lovers pizza & a fettuccine with shrimp butter & lemon sauce. Both were delicious. Service was great and food was on spot.
google avatar

Marilyn E.

Yelp
Really cute place. They have a selection of great food joints. Went to the office and the sushi place in the corner and they were both so delicious. Would def go back again.
google avatar

Liza E.

Yelp
You dream it, they have it. About a dozen restaurants and bars under one roof. Super cool architecture and experiential eating and drinking. Love the Nuevo Latino vibe of this place. We could have come back every day of the week on our trip and tried very different foods and drinks each time. Great little authentic and creative nugget just the right distance from the tacky touristy side of Cabo. Very kid friendly. Great for large groups and picky eaters.
google avatar

Toni F.

Yelp
Three things you need to know about El Merkado.. 1. It was a fast, cheap Uber ride from the major hotels in the corridor. A great option for travelers who can't decide on a dining option. 2. Many food and drink choices that include satellite restaurants that also have a presence in Cabo or San Jose (like The Office and Pan di Bacco). We tried a few cocktails, apps and pizza at Pan di Bacco and enjoyed everything. 3. The boutiques in the mall area closed fairly early so this might be a better option to visit for lunch if you also want to shop.
google avatar

Bianca G.

Yelp
Beautiful place with a art gallery and many restaurants. The people's welcome you like friends. You can eat seafood, steaks, Italian, Japanese and more!! Just for having a look around it is worth it. Amazing experience!! I strongly recommend.
google avatar

alison w.

Yelp
EM is located just off the highway in is this industrial looking building. Upon entering you will find a variety of food options and they all looked really good. We settled on the Oyster Bar and Burger spot upstairs, which was nice because everyone gets what they want to eat and we can sit together. I had the two shrimp tacos, a sea bass taco, and a beer all for $11.28...all of it was delish!!! My husband had a Philly Cheese Steak w Friesl a margarita for $16.00...
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
Great options for a semi-quick meal when all 5 of us wanted something different, pizza, fish, tacos, steak. The pizza was great, but the roasted chicken and French fries were spectacular.
google avatar

Taylor N.

Yelp
Right next to Hampton Inn so I ate there 3 times while staying here for the week. It was all yummy. Oyster bar had good seafood, large portion size, average prices. Italian place had good sandwiches, did not try pizza and pasta but others seemed to enjoy it. My favvv was Big Tony's burger upstairs at the right on the end. Huge delicious burgers with fresh ingredients done right. We also got tamarind which tasted like Jack Daniel's wings and was soo stinking delicious. Better than Hodads/in n out/etc...eat here if ur sick of tacos and want a fat juicy flavorful burger.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
This place reminds me of Midtown Sacramento. Very hip. Being in Mexico on vacation I was not attracted to this place. I opted to eat more meals at the burrito shop next door adjacent to the gas station. If you are looking for beer or wine, this place has pliantly of choices. If you want a very hip upscale meal you will love this place. One thing I did appreciate is the location. This place shared the parking lot of my hotel. I was never with out food choices. The other nice thing is this location brought in other activities such as a dog race and bands on the weekend. The location of being on the same property of my hotel was a plus. Even if I didn't eat many meals here, it was always an option.

Gladys M.

Yelp
I had high expectations of this place but the food was bland. Our food came out cold, the waiter also forgot all of our drinks and charged us for it. We didn't even get silverware and had to wait to get everything. The food and the service was not good. I do not recommend this place at all and this is coming from a person who always wants the best for restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is new since the last time that we visited Cabo. It is a stone's throw from the Westin and it had such variety! We at there three times on this last visit and we even got to go orders and brought it back to our lovely villa at the Westin. - BBQ Cabo - their BBQ ribs were so tender and delicious! They gave me a sample of the Churrasco beef and I got a slice of that too. We came back to get a to go order of the tri tip and it was fabulous!! Salad was excellent and they gave us bread to go with it. That dish was about $10 US. The young man that oversees the place is very helpful. - Osteria - Seafood tapas platter which was tuna. pulpo and squid and a goat cheese stuffed jalapeno - hubby just loved it - La Carreta Los Cabos - Tacos Asada and Chile Relleno, Chicken Tlayuda (Mole flatbread) all wonderful - The Office - Spicy chicken quesadilla - EXCELLENT! - Gyros greek stall - Lamb chops with greek salad. It was good but I would pass to experience other food - there is so much variety there.

Scott C.

Yelp
What a great find! Thank you Yelp! We are staying at the Westin. They will give you a golf cart ride to the highway, from there it is about a 1 mile walk towards San Jose Del Cabo. Lots of choices! We chose Cabo Tacos and it was wonderful! Shrimp Tacos, Fish Tacos, Quesadilla Chicken, fresh guacamole and chips - all VERY tasty and about $25 US with 2 sodas.
