Google
ABSOLUTELY ENORMOUS BURRITOS! By far the best barbacoa I've ever had. This is an absolute must try. The got sauce was in point, the burrito was delicious and the staff is very friendly.

Google
Been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and this one definitely ranks up there. Great staff, awesome authentic environment and food is on point. Highly recommend

Manuel Encizo

Google
Family members were very satisfied with breakfast and the Menudo was great. Service and waiting staff were good also. Being from the McKinney area and not knowing the area it was questionable but turned out great. I'll definitely come back.

Google
I do not understand the great reviews. This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I've gone twice. First time I had enchiladas. So bad I could barely eat any of it. Beans tasted old and dry. Second time I had carne asada and pastor tacos. The asada was like shoe leather and salty, the pastor was mostly just hard chunks of fat.

epic zinger

Google
Usually decent besides the watered down hot sauce. This time got a super nacho to go. Got home at 245 no meat on the nacho. Called an let the phone ring for 15 minutes. No answer wasn't enough time to drive back. Probably not going to spend my money there anymore. Do better

Google
100% best best Latino restaurant in the business hole in the wall does not mean anything negative against them. It is a beautiful place. I am eating a bean and cheese burrito and it tastes like love taste like love wrapped in a tortilla. Beautiful 100%. You don't go here. You're missing out on Wichita falls authentic Latino food 💪😎

Google
I give it three starts because I ate there earlier and had one of the best burritos but when I got an horchata I drank it and realized it was old and spoiled the food was amazing but the horchata was spoiled and sour it was nasty 🤮 other then tht good food👍just wish they had good horchata

Google
We never ordered. Sat there about 10 minutes waiting at the table. One lady saw us and went to grab menus. As she's walking to our table, she gives the menus and chips to another couple that had just walked in. My husband and I got up and left. This is the first time I've been here in almost a year. The last time, a lady chased me out the door, accusing me of not paying while my husband was at the counter paying. I will not be going back this time.

Yelp
The best Tacos & Service in Wichita TX! A close friend showed it to me and every visit have made it a point to stop in and get the street tacos. Tacos El Pastor are the best I have had in years!!! Make it a point to swing in and nab up some authentic chow!

Jimmy M.

Yelp
Gross food horrible service. Been waiting so long decided to write this review. If you are hungry go somewhere else. If u have time to wait forever this maybe your place the barbacoa must have been from yesterday was horrible and dry. Menudo was served cold. Will be our last time coming here.

Yelp
The place is not fancy but the chips and salsa are delicious. I tried the red taco plate as I have never had them. Highly recommend giving them a try. Will definitely be back again.

Yelp
Really good food, seams like the price is always different depending on who checks you out.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed in wait staff service. Also dining room was so hot it very uncomfortable and difficult to relax. But now the reason for this negative review, waitress gives my burrito to someone else and they of course takes 2 quick bites and realize it's not their order. I thought "no big deal, they'll just remake my burrito". NO. NOPE. She then tells me "you'll have to pay for another or eat the one that was given and BITEN into by someone else". So I have to literally PAY FOR HER MISTAKE. This was her first response, not an apology. We've been loyal customers for years but with thanks to that response and attitude, also acting like it's my fault. We won't be back and you will no longer be our lunch provider for any department of our company. We believe in grcustomer service and accountability.

Yelp
Oh man, let me tell you about this hidden gem I stumbled on. I mean, I've had my fair share of Mexican food, but this place just blew my mind! I'm talking about some of the most authentic, mouth-watering, and downright delicious Mexican cuisine I've had in a long time. I'm giving this place a solid 5 stars, and here's why. First off, the Tacos Sincronizadas. Holy guacamole, these bad boys were out of this world! The flavors were so perfectly balanced, and the ingredients were incredibly fresh. It's like they took a little piece of Mexico and served it up on a plate. I could taste the love and passion that went into making these tacos, and I couldn't get enough of them. Now, let me paint you a picture. We arrived at El Norteno just before closing time, and you know how some places can get a little grumpy when you show up late? Not these guys. The staff were so polite and welcoming, it felt like we were being invited into their home. They didn't rush us or make us feel like we were inconveniencing them. Instead, they treated us like family, and that's something you don't find every day. The atmosphere at El Norteno was warm and inviting, with a touch of that laid-back, Mexican charm. It was the perfect setting to enjoy some amazing food and share a few laughs with friends. And speaking of laughs, the staff were not only polite but also had a great sense of humor. It's always a bonus when you can have a good time while enjoying a fantastic meal. In a world where it's easy to find mediocre Mexican food, El Norteno stands out as a shining example of what authentic Mexican cuisine should taste like. I can't recommend this place enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. If you haven't been to El Norteno yet, do yourself a favor and go check it out. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.

Yelp
Stomach can't handle spicy food . Tums don't help with my heartburn.....so that's why I leave only 2 stars

Yelp
Went into the dine in area and it smelled like corn. Too overwhelming for me so I just ordered a Michelada to go & it was AMAZING !!! I've made it my personal mission to taste as many micheladas from everywhere I am / go . This one is definitely a top 5. Made with negra modelo

Yelp
Perfect lunch spot after hiking to the Wichita Falls. At first we walked into the take out entrance by accident. The real restaurant is set back from the road. The staff is super friendly and were able to sit us right away even though we were a party of 8. The menu has got everything, from breakfast items to lunch menu to combination meals.. They brought us yummae chips right away and what looked like homemade salsa (I don't know if it was) and it had a surprising kick to it!! The portions are HUGE. My kid only wanted a flour tortilla and I am telling you, it was bigger than the size of a large pizza. I couldn't resist ordering flautas (they are my favorite) with chicken and it was perfect. Super crispy and delicious. I even dipped it in the salsa and retried beans... to die for. My other kid got a supreme burrito. Supreme doesn't even really like describe it. The thing was as big as a foot long sub and stuffed to the max. Needless to say, we got so much more than we ever thought.

Yelp
Gutierrez was closed today and I was craving for Barbacoa so we checked out this place. The chips was fresh and crunchy; salsa had a good kick to it. When the Barbacoa plate was served, I could smell a stench scent of rotten corn beef. I tasted a piece of the meat and it was horrible! My buddy ordered the barbacoa taco and confirmed that the meat had a weird taste. I ate the rice and refried beans but could not eat the stinky meat. First time I had to pass on meat, I paid $9.99 for a plate and it all went to waste. The service was great BUT horrible experience with the food; Never coming back!!! I seldom give out 1 stars since I'm a huge supporter of small businesses; however, this was the worst experience ever.

Natasha K.

Yelp
Very small place and packed with tables. The service was not good and the food was pretty bland. The tortillas were very good and the hot sauce, but just used to more flavor. The bathroom was very dirty.

Andy V.

Yelp
This place has the best tacos dorados Ive ever had and the flour tortillas they serve their burritos with is so good and fresh ive been looking for a place in the area of houston to be able to eat tacos that good and cant happen to find any that every time i travel through Wichita Falls its a must stop and enjoy their tacos dorados

Yelp
Authentic Mexican Food!!! Todo muy bueno! Our waitress was so nice I am so glad we decided to stop here for breakfast on our way to Our destination. We will for sure be back when we come out this way again!

Alex S.

Yelp
We order the burritos for delivery quite a bit and they are always SO good! They are also pretty big compared to some other places burrito portions.

Yelp
Terrible service. Place smells horrendous. Food was terrible. Will never be going back. Two tables next to me came in 10 minutes after me and were served with menus and drinks way before me. Salsa for the chips were terrible in my opinion. So annoyed i came here.. and spent my money on nasty food and horrible service.

Yelp
Best Mexican Food outside of Mexico. Hands down, even at border towns in Texas nothing compares to this place. AMAZING and my #1 choice every time.
google avatar

Breanna S.

Yelp
A little hole in the wall restaurant that will not disappoint, DELICIOUS burrito with a ton of flavor. One of the best I've ever had!

Stephen P.

Yelp
Looks like a hole in the wall but good food and service. Enjoyed the large burritos! Taco Tuesday looked great and will go back for that for sure!

Kenneth R.

Yelp
Although the service was amazing and quick, the food on the other had did not live up to the standard that other reviewers have stated. This food is no better than Taco Bell, the only difference between the two is the decor

Justin H.

Yelp
Food is great but their hot sauce tastes like someone from way far up in the mountains of caucuses made it... very bland
google avatar

Soren K.

Yelp
Good food, a little hidden away and hard to find at first. Being from El Paso, and finally finding GOOD Mexican food and not fake Tex-Mex was so great.
google avatar

Isabel M.

Yelp
Delicious authentic tastes like homemade with lots of love...made from scratch Mexican cuisine...buen provecho, y'all
google avatar

Samuel G.

Yelp
I've lived close to the border for nearly 20 years, now I'm in Wichita Falls, and if El Norteño doesn't have the best street tacos in this state than I dont know who does. Lightly fried Tripas, seasoned Asasa, Al Pastor and Carnitas all on point. Really you can't go wrong with any kind of traditional meat in one of their tortillas and a big ass cup of Horchata. They have them all. Matches made in heaven. I come here every time I'm in town. If you can find a place to park on the tight gravel lot then PLEASE do yourself a favor and visit. It's worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was confusing... three people asked us for our order. Then they ignored us. They *charge* for hot sauce!?! Chile rellaño was a raw pepper without queso fresco inside. Flies and more flies buzzing around. Never returning.
google avatar

Spice B.

Yelp
My husband and I are new to the area. We wanted to find a good Mexican restaurant and this place came through for us. Pablo, our server, was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the taco sincronisados and thoroughly enjoyed it! Good portions. Warm chips and yummy spicy salsa were given generously while we waited for our meals. Will be back!
google avatar

Carlos M.

Yelp
Great food with great flavors and generous quantity. Its a bit difficult getting them to answer the phone. The building looks small from the outside but the equipment is modern and the staff is friendly. Definitely recommend for that Mexican food fix.
google avatar

Courtney M.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Great Mexican food! Got the 4 Mexican tacos with Barbacoa and it was delicious. Excellent salsa also. The queso was okay but probably wouldn't get it again. I would go back if going up to Wichita Falls again.
google avatar

Kirsten C.

Yelp
I grew up going to this restaurant almost every Saturday with my dad. I have been ordering the same thing since I was 5. I remember back when the main seating was in the front building that is now used for to go orders. The beef combo burrito with cheese will always be one of my favorite foods in the entire world. This place has great authentic food. This place looks rough from the outside but never judge a book by its cover. Im 25 now and live in Dallas. I have yet to find a place that compares to this outside of Wichita Falls. I dream of these burritos. My only complaint is that the prices have gotten quite a bit high through the years for the same exact food. But that won't turn me away from coming back to my favorite spot in Wichita Falls. This is a must stop every time I'm in town. I even have my mom bring me bru tips every now and then when she comes to visit.

Yelp
Great food. Very quite atmosphere. Plain and simple. Nothing fancy but the food is authentic Mexican comfort. This isn't Tex-Mex. This is pure Mexican goodness. Super friendly wait staff and the quality of the food is great. Not expensive at all. Trust me you will enjoy this place. I recommend asking for the warm green sauce. Thank me later.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
The food was seasoned really well and came out fast. The rice and beans were the best I've tasted in WF. Super authentic.
google avatar

Tara W.

Yelp
Good breakfast burritos. We got the supreme breakfast burrito with added potatoes and we chose green Chile over red. It was fresh and had great ingredients (bacon, ham, chorizo, eggs, refried beans). We were glad we added potatoes. It's not very spicy. Their salsa is super hot. If you want spicy, I'd request salsa inside. Otherwise it's served on the side. Large portions. Don't be scared by "hole in wall" looks.

BJ C.

Yelp
Awesome little spot, a little hard to find but the food was amazing and the customer service was outstanding.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
We were passing through and we wanted to try some local food. We found this hidden jewel on Yelp. We split the Fajita burrito and a side of beans with sweet tea. Everything was awesome. The sweet tea was like southern sweet tea. The beans tasted like grandmas.
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Good mexican food. Quick service. Chips and salsa with your lunch and refills. That's old school customer service. I had the Enchallida Verdes. My lunch was very savory. Super good refried beans too!
google avatar

Lin G.

Yelp
Desire of good Mexican food. Everyone has this. And thus far the best place I could come up with for this area was Gutierrez. Truth be told, am ready to move on. Along came El Norteno, basking me in its warm glow of promises to come, which were fulfilled today. Taco Tuesdays, bring it on. $1.25 tacos, I ordered six to reside inside my mouth. 3 lengua, tripa, taco beef, and barbacao. The tacos did not disappoint! They even came with the little onion, pepper, and lemons that you'd get a real Mexican food truck. Yum, days of yore in Pico Union. The chips and salsa were also excellent, we want through two baskets. The flavors were definitely on point with my expectations and am a new fan. Sucks they are not open for dinner on the weekdays.
google avatar

Roddy R.

Yelp
Service was good but food was very disappointing. Had chorizo and egg breakfast tacos that were room temperature at best. The portion size could barely be seen in the tortilla but the taste was good if you could get past the fact that you were eating cold tacos. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Would not go back, even for free food.
google avatar

Rick C.

Yelp
This is hands down the best Mexican food in all of WFTX. The food is always fresh and the rice and beans are the best. The place is small and smells like bathroom cleaner but the food makes up for that. We go back weekly!
google avatar

Nathan B.

Yelp
Me and my wife were looking to get an early dinner one day and found this gem! We parked and weren't too sure about it at first but as soon as we walked in I knew we made the right choice. Our server Pablo really took care of us and made frequent but not too frequent checkups to make sure we had everything we needed. The salsa is different to what I normally have but ended up loving it! The food took a little bit longer than I expected but the quality made up for it. I would recommend to anyone who loves Authentic Mexican food.

Tracy D.

Yelp
Delicious! Do yourself a favor and check it out.! Great service, too! Wonderful Guisada de Res! Yum!!!
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
Good food for a decent price. Definitely authentic and spicy. The place located in a run down part of town but the best places usually are. I still think Gutierrez family is better but we will be coming back to try other stuff and get another opinion! Worth a try if you're in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
Southwest parkway location. Sunday morning and searching for a place for breakfast. Most everything was closed except fast food and IHOP, blah! About to give up when I spotted El Norteno #2 in a strip center. Bingo it was open. And better yet they had Menudo, just what the doctor ordered. Nothing fancy inside, mix of gringos and Mexican patrons. Chips and salsa were good, tortillas hot and freshly made and menudo was huge. Everything was good and it's open Sunday morning. The menu was large with different meats, soups and Mexican standards. Will return to try more.
google avatar

Yelp
Born and raised in San Diego, Ca. The late night trips, and morning pit stops to get some great Mexican food was everywhere. BEYOND disappointed by the "Mexican" options here in town.. nothing tasted like abuleta would have made it, or approve of. BUT THEN!!! El Norteno, at first bite.. I was in love.. in the past week I have been there 6 times. I would tell everyone to come here over anywhere else.... BTW... found out that they will DELIVER anywhere in Wichita... sooooo... instead of pizza I get delivered el pastor tacos.. my life is now complete again.. TRY IT OUT!!!!!!!
google avatar

Lawrence M.

Yelp
Great Mexican food. Their menu offers a great selection of entrees. They serve their chips with homemade salsa and guacamole. I ordered the Flautas with each meat, and it was only the shredded beef i wasnt to impressed with. On the other hand, the refried beans it came with had caught my attention with its flavor. Overall a great experience and highly recommend eating here if your in town.
google avatar

Cody H.

Yelp
Saw this online and decided to check it out. I was not disappointed! Salsa is legit and actually spicy. The barbacoa I ordered was pretty amazing. On top of that they make their own corn tortillas which is a huge win for me. 100% would recommend this place to anyone!
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
More like El Delicioso. So tasty, you'll be coming back. The fajitas and chicken enchiladas are super tasty, I recommend these two, especially the fajitas. I've heard their breakfast burritos are crazy good, I'll be back to try those soon. Maybe tomorrow morning.

Yelp
Incredible fabulous authentic south Texas Mexican. Friendly, good service spicy hot sauce! Loved it and will be back!

Yelp
Always one of my places to get a burrito when I need one always bass inconvenience just make a quick call and you'll be ready your burrito will be ready in five minutes with two locations in a food truck on Latino sure is convenient around Wichita Falls

Norma A.

Yelp
Delicious! Tripas tacos are bomb! I do wish they had a spicier hot sauce. Nice place to visit while in texas.

Sean M.

Yelp
Amazing!!!!!! Best burrito/tacos I have ever had. You won't be disappointed this is some of the most authentic Mexican food you can find. The Lingua is spectacular and the Barbacoa will have you coming back for more the next day.
