"This taqueria chain has locations all over Dallas, and the outpost on Harry Hines serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner right out of the drive-thru window. Feast on sopes or nachos, or keep it simple with a two-taco plate (served with rice and beans) that’s a real bargain at less than $7." - Amy McCarthy

Continues to be one of the best options in Dallas! I’ve been coming here for over 10 years. It was a bit slow on my take out order, but the food makes up for it. All tacos come with two tortillas and grilled onions on the side along side the cilantro and raw onions. Their salsas are also very good.

Google
Service was quick and prompt tacos definitely mid it’s Harry Hines

This is the third time that mess up my orders, this tim, I got a torta to g. I got home, and the bun burned like hell. What kind of cooks do you have, the one that don't give af to what they serve. One time, I got a taco with plastic paper that I almost ate, I only got sorry and felt sick to my stomach. CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU EAT IT.

Google
They had no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom, and I told the lady at the register, and she kind of gave me her attitude.. you mean to tell me that this is the same bathroom where the people that is cooking my food goes and you have no soap? For healthy reason. Businesses are required to have soap in their bathroom. No excuse a big no-no.

Google
This is seriously the best place to get street tacos in Dallas. I go here probably once a week. The fajita tacos are amazing, and I sometimes drop by just to buy their red sauce.

Google
The food was amazing Nd very tasty. The waiter was real nice and the place was very clean and inviting.

Love this place! You won’t be disappointed with any item on the menu. We usually get a few tacos and our favorites are the al pastor, barbacoa and the tripas. So much flavor and the meat is never dry. The tripas are super crispy like a chicharrón. In addition, we got the breakfast burrito and it’s out of this world. It’s perfectly rolled and filled with just a lot of good stuff such as eggs, potatoes and their refried beans. I usually like the basics but you can add more ingredients if you like. Make sure to wash everything down with their delicious horchata. Photo Cred: IG - @the__foodbaby

Google
Recently discovered this place and am very happy I did. Good food, especially the variety of meats they have, at very reasonable prices. I'm especially fond of the plate that comes with a meat selection and then you pick the other things you want to make tacos or whatever you want yourself.

Yelp
This spot was exactly what we're were searching for on a late night drive to Dallas from Ft Worth. As soon as we saw "open until 4am" + 4-star rating + Taqueria, our plan was set! The parking lot was bumpy and tight - packed with cars and customers. Large families, couples, people in casual attire, party dresses, cowboys hats, pointed boots - all manner of late-night-taco-lover was there;) Customers order at the counter and order numbers are called out once ready: Between two of us, we ordered the following tacos on corn tortillas: -Barbacoa -Lengua -Pastor (Xs 2) -Bistek -Tripa And a Bud Light Michelada (cause we know what's good and are classy like that;)) Conversation halted in honor of the holy tacos once they graced our table. Only satisfied smirks, closed eyes, and exclamations of gratitude! What a perfect end to a great night!! Thank you to all the staff and friendly patrons of El Paisa Taqueria who made it so:)

Yelp
Same great food and service you'll find at any of their locations. Recommend coming in! It's not scary location can throw you off a bit but promise it's nice! They even had beer for those of you looking. Will definitely visit again

Alexander Y.

Yelp
Came here as it was late, I wanted some tacos, and it was the only spot that was open that had tacos. Had the bistek, carnitas, pollo, and lengua tacos. I think the chicken was the one I liked most, but everything was just alright. Being from L.A., I'm used to some pretty high quality tacos. This was definitely not that. Since we came pretty late, staff could've just told us to go home. But they did let us take our tacos to go. Good enough, I suppose. Overall, it got the job done, but nothing to write home about.

Manuel M.

Yelp
Found a staple in my lengua taco meat , gross and dangerous :/ Plus their horchata taste off its supposed to taste like Mexican rice base since it's a Mexican restaurant, but it taste like horchata de morro Central American knock off version of horchata not what I was expecting, disappointing.

Landis T.

Yelp
Wanted breakfast before leaving town, and found this place with some quick research. We were the only white guys in the place and I'm definitely ok with that. Great tacos, and the lunch stuff looked even better. Next time I'm in town I'll be back again.

Shana A.

Yelp
They did an amazing job with the breakfast they just catered for me!! The breakfast tacos were so good! Everyone wanted to know where they were from. I had to find them on Yelp so I can be sure to go back again. Can't wait to try lunch next time.

Gina K.

Yelp
Amazing! I got the tostada meal and it was all perfect. Delicious taste. Barbacoa was perfect! Chicken tostada was packed full of flavor. Great atmosphere. Thanks!

Jameka J.

Yelp
Came here late night from the club. Wanted some good tacos after a night of drinking. Was greeted by a sweet lady who was nice. Tacos was so delicious with so much flavor. Will come back again. I believe they are open 24/7.

Mel N.

Yelp
3.5 stars. A lesser known spot but they are on the delivery services so not sure if I can classify it as a hole in the wall. Limited parking. Definitely one of the more local places? We were one of the few non Hispanic people there. Off peak lunch during the weekend. No wait. Decent amount of people coming in and out. The menu is pretty massive!! They offer combos with a drink etc. Went with the regular street tacos. They seemed more expensive than other local joints. I think it was $3 for a lengua. There are 2 separate prices for flour vs. corn (as is typical for tacos) but couldn't tell which was what on the menu. Got the tripa, lengua, pastor, barbacoa. (4 tacos). There's different 'toppings' you can put on them. Somehow mine came with tomato/cheese/lettuce. I thought I said cilantro and onions... The lengua was really good. Think I realized I'm not a huge fan of tripa in general. I think the barbacoa was lacking... either that or the pastor. Can't remember. Satisfying overall. I think I would've liked it more if it had the traditional onions and cilantro. Not exactly sure if I would come back, but check out this place especially if Chilangos is packed down the street.

Sarrang P.

Yelp
Great place for some good tacos after some drinking and night out festivities. Tacos are really cheap about 1.45 to 1.90 a taco! I love the Barbacoa but all other meats are good too. They are open pretty late or I think 24 hours? I like this place because it's a sit down so you dont have to find a place to sit or what not. Definitely a place to try! Very easy to order too. Everyone is super nice and can give many recommendations. Inside is pretty clean and theres a mini bar for extra veggies and like salsa. Also they sell like other stuff like Mexican snacks and candies.

Desiree R.

Yelp
Never had a bad experience here, food is delicious, breakfast tacos are my favorite. The staff is friendly and efficient even when I order last minute, they always make it happen in a hurry

Yelp
I ordered food through Uber Eats, so I'm not quite sure who is at fault, but Uber Eats is awesome and made it right. I'll get into the details in a little bit. First of all, can I just say HOW CHEAP the tacos are? Like WOW. Here's what I got: _ Mix rice and (refried) beans $2.08 These are pretty good! It was jam packed in a to go container and pretty tasty. Went really well with the tacos. No complaints! Your standard rice and beans that you might get on a plate if you ordered AT the restaurant. _ carnitas, barbacoa, and pastor taco $1.62 each These tacos are CHEAP! Holy crap. If you add ALL the things, then you might pay a few dimes more, but totally worth it. All these were super flavorful and just great. Each taco came with two flour tortillas. My only complaint is that they kind of skimp out on the cilantro and onion. I would've liked more. But the addition is free, so whatever. _ chips and queso $3.70 This is where the error comes into play. When my food got delivered, I noticed there were no chips! I wasn't quite sure what to do with the queso at that point so I just mixed it in with whatever rice and beans were left and whatever had fallen out of my taco with each bite I took. It was a mish mash of things which was actually pretty good. But also, I guess I'm not too mad because I read reviews that the chips were too greasy and soft? I don't know. But Uber Eats was awesome and knocked the queso and chips off my total bill.

Rox G.

Yelp
I've ordered from here a few times through Uber and it's always so good. Decided to dine in today and loved it here. Reminds me of being in Mexico and going to the puestos. Food is delicious and restaurant is clean. Will come back

Isabel J.

Yelp
The best taco place I've tried in Dallas! Good value and delicious! Lengua and the Barbacoa are definitely a must try! We had this place twice in a row.

Leslie H.

Yelp
Chips are stale. Barely any meat on here. No salsa in the bag like I asked. Never coming here again. Also my agua de melon was disgusting.

LaToya A.

Yelp
I ordered breakfast tacos from here on uber eats. I had never been but the reviews looked good. I ended up ordering quite a few to keep from having to pay the small order fee and I figured I could just share with the office. I ate the bacon and egg (on flour), chorizo and egg (on corn), and attempted the ham and egg (on corn). The flour tortilla was delicious and appeared to be homemade. The eggs were nice and fluffy and seasoned well. The salsas were spicy and flavorful. My only complaint is the ham and egg taco was a slice of sandwich meat wrapped around the eggs. Did not look even remotely appealing. But because the eggs and salsa were so good I just threw the ham out and had an egg taco. I will definitely order from here again.

Sam S.

Yelp
Flavorful Tacos and friendly service! Probably the best Fajita tacos in town. Found my lunch spot!

Fab B.

Yelp
Came here for the first time...asked for a taste of their menudo and pozole before deciding. Both were really good but ordered the pozole to go with something different from my usual which is menudo. The portion is very generous for the price. The pozole is tasty and clean. Very little grease. Will definitely come back.

James W.

Yelp
Food has always been fresh. There breakfast tacos are the BEST around. I used to get them a few times a month when I worked in this area. I was in the "hood" so I stoped by to eat. Yum

Suave M.

Yelp
I don't want anything mean but this wasn't what my taste buds expected . Tortillas smelt store bought. Barbacoa and pastor just tasted way off . Didn't enjoy hot sauce either jus disappointed is all

Tommye D.

Yelp
Great place for late night taco cravings. They're open super late on the weekends (till 4am) and are nearby the karaoke places on Royal / Harry Hines. It's a nice sit-in alternative to hitting up Friendly's (plus they take credit card). Out of the tacos I tried here (carnitas, barbacoa, al pastor,) the barbacoa was the best. Very succulent (which to me means moist and tender from rendered fat). The carnitas were ok as well, but the al pastor was whatever to me and I would not get it again. Tacos were $1.50 a piece and I saw that on Monday through Thursday that they sell them for $.75 a piece which would make it an unbelievable deal. Parking was somewhat limited out front, but we arrived at an odd time so it wasn't an issue. I could imagine this place being hard to get into after 2am on the weekends, but that's purely conjecture.

Brian D.

Yelp
I was visiting from the east coast and drove out to this place. I had 3 tacos on what was a very nice and soft corn tortilla. They were amazing! The Lengua was especially delicious! The salsa and toppings bar is next to the check out and covered. I wouldn't even had known it was there until someone else opened it. Definitely worth a drive.

Linda D.

Yelp
Getting to this little hole in the wall place can seem a bit shady as you drive into the neighborhood but the food is worth the risk. I especially am a fan of the chicken nachos. They make their own chips which come out thick and crunchy. They don't skin on the chicken and a whole plate is well enough to fill two people. They have different sauces from median too hot. I'm not a big fan of the pork, because they tend to throw in a lot of the fat in there They also have all sorts of Mexican candy and/or desserts. Their dining area is relatively small but it doesn't ever get too crowded in there.

Jane J.

Yelp
I've ordered from all menus, but breakfast is my thing. El Paisa is by far the best around. Authentic, Always fresh & hot delivered to my door and they pay attention to details! My favs are the breakfast tacos! But let me tell you their burritos will fill you up as they are of good portion. Lunch/dinner: enchiladas, taco's, chalupas, taquitos.. you name it, always fresh, the real deal. Delicious, delicious, delicious!

Marcela V.

Yelp
Real good tortas de asada and Amazing tacos al pastor! Friendly staff, genuine Mexican food!

Viv M.

Yelp
If you are looking for LEGIT Mexican food this is the place. They have a couple of locations in the DFW area which make it a great choice when downtown or headed back to the burbs. Don't be chicken, you are safe here even though it is the "Harry Hines," all the yuppies tell you to fear. My pics: MENUDO on Sunday, lengua, barbacoa, and fajita tacos. They are all seasoned perfectly and are served with either corn or flour tortillas. There is a condiment area that has four different types of salsas and an onion/cilantro mix. The limes come out with your food, ask for extra. The horchata isn't as thick as I usually like it to be (if that makes sense), but it hits the spot nonetheless.

MIsabel C.

Yelp
Horrible service..Our first time here..order was wrong and didn't want to correct it...the flour tacos..yuck..store and cheap..fajitas meat NO flavor...Oh didn't mention 5tacos and 2 pinata soda. 16.00!! This is crap...go down the street there is better taco places than this place...yuck!!

Giselle P.

Yelp
Open super late and soooo good! Best tacos in Dallas! Chips and salsa are amazing as well!

Kendall P.

Yelp
Visited this El Paisa for the second time at breakfast and was thoroughly pleased. Although their menu is full of delicious traditional Mexican meal options there's not much to eat if you're vegetarian. However, I was able to ask for a veggie quesadilla and they were kind enough to put something together for me - they even offered extra advice on which veggies could be added. Really accommodating and helpful. Thanks!

Deidra O.

Yelp
So disappointing. I saw the good reviews so I tried it out. I love Mexican food! This food was so disappointing. I ordered nachos. Easy right. Well too bad I ordered it to go or I would have demanded my money back. I literally drove 5 minutes away back to my job and opened up my box to some nasty "chips" covered in beans and cheese. I will say, I did eat some of it because it didn't taste really gross. But the chips were super soft and even the parts that were somewhat crunchy were just oily and gross. There is $6 just gone to waste. Some might say, it is normal for chips to get soft with cheese and beans, but this was not normal. I will learn to check my food when I order things to go in the future so I don't waste my money on bad product.

Doug D.

Yelp
Around 2 AM I was looking for a Taco place so we pulled up to this place. It was actually pretty busy and got busier as we ate. I got 2 Barboca tacos and 2 El Pastor with flour tortillas, the El Pastor was among the best I've ever had but the barboca was just okay. It also felt a bit expensive compared to what I normally pay. Just short of a 5, nice tacos just among the elite.

Steven D.

Yelp
the mexi rice was prob the best I've had in the whole area.. beans were good too.. tacos had great flavor.. weren't as visually pleasing as some of the more hole in the wall places which was shocking, but the flavor of the tacos and tortillas were still top notch.. barbocoa had great flavor, not salty and full of flavor.. a bit expensive compared to other places in the area, and not tasty enough to warrant paying more, but they were still worth every penny.. I just wouldn't pass the other places to come back for the prices.. if that makes sense ..

Leah C.

Yelp
Had it delivered via favor and that's the only negative I can say! I had fajita tacos, rice, beans, chips and queso, and salsa. Delicious! All of it! But really, the food was cooked well and tasted really great- even after being delivered! I'll have to bring my husband one weekend and eat it at the restaurant because I'm sure it would be spectacular that way! Highly recommend for the flavor, quality, AND price.

Lovely L.

Yelp
This is the best authenic mexican food I have ever ate.The prices are reasonable the the taste and the quality hits right on the nail, everything is seasoned perfectly because I am a very picky person when it comes to taste.I tried the fajita taco plate OMG I thought I was on cloud 9 because it was tasing so good. The guacamole is homemade and delicious, to were I was licking my finger and almost bit it of making sure no traces were left behind. The beans were tasty and good along with the rice.I go here alot to try all their foods. This place will not disappoint you.I also had their fajita nachos and it was so good. The chips are made from scratch and were beyond delicious, and the flautas were amazing they had chicken and I think it was queso but they were so good.If you are looking for some GOOD seasoned just right authenic mexican food go here.

Samn R.

Yelp
When my coworkers told me they were taking me to a taco joint inside a Korean Liquor Store, I said "whaaat??" And grabbed my purse and ran into the car with them. Boy, was I excited! It's the real deal here, folks! You could get tacos, but I let my buddy order for me and he got me a plate with carne con papas, a GIGANTIC chile relleno, rice, beans and some flour tortillas. Que deliciosa! Que rico!... or in English: Yummy! The flavors and textures were perfect and very much reminded me of my childhood in funkytown when I would go over to my chicana friends' house and her mom would make dinner. I will be going back! (And it's cash only)

Juan R.

Yelp
I've been to all 4 el paisas and it's always hit and miss . I ordered a quesadilla today and it was so overloaded and dripping in grease . You can tell when people love cooking and when they are just going through the motions. The beans tasted like canned refuted beans . Oh well .

Angelaa S.

Yelp
Usually I go for lunch and its always very good, but today I decided to try their breakfast tacos, and I was very disappointed, I wanted to try their chorizo and potatoes. When I got the chorizo it was dripping of grease which made the potatoe have grease too. It was disgusting I had to trash both of them.

Lorena H.

Yelp
When I entered the restaurant it smelled like pure rotten egg. The lady was not nice, the kitchen was so dirty and the cookers didn't have any gloves on or any hair nets. The stove looked so sticky and ugly. And their horchata tastes like a burned tortilla. I hope they can get better in the future.

Tina H.

Yelp
The best 2am tacos in Dallas with hot sauce that will leave you in tears. A must try. Yes, completely cheap too. Fyi: inside tables with ac so no sitting outside sweating to death in the sweltering hot Texas summer.

Mai N.

Yelp
I usually go to El Paisa in Carrollton for real authentic tacos but today, I wanted to go somewhere new for a change of pace and for comparison purposes. My friend recommended this place which is also named El Paisa but I don't think the two are related. It is located next to a liquor store and across the street from a couple of strip joints so it is not in the best of neighborhoods. Since it was during lunch and I was with my male friend, I felt safe. I would feel safe by myself too during the day but ladies, I don't recommend venturing here alone at night. It is an extension of the building in which the Continental Liquor Store is located, built with corrugated metal walls and roof. It is my understanding that they had recently upgraded the window coverings to fiberglass. It used to be covered with sheets of plastics. There are 8 booths for seating. The menus are posted on the wall and in Spanish only. Go to the window in the back to place your order. I speak a little Spanish so I didn't have problems ordering. I don't think it will be problem if you don't speak Spanish. They will call you when your food is ready. The different meat/fillings are listed on the wall to the left of the ordering window. One taco w/your choice of meat with corn tortillas is $1.20 and is $1.40 if you want flour tortillas. Although they also have other Mexican dishes on the menu, I was here today to try the tacos and that was what I ordered. There is a condiment bar loaded with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, cilantro/diced onion mix, green salsa & roasted pepper red salsa. We didn't have to wait long for our food as we came early. I had the bistec, pastor and chicharron. The meats were full of flavors and had just the right amount of grease. They were all good; however, not as good as the El Paisa located in Carrollton. By the time, we finish our food, there was a line for ordering so I suggest that you get early if you only have an hour for lunch. This is as close as you will find to street food of Mexico. All items were under $6. They do have flan for dessert. This is a cash only joint. Don't let the exterior deter you because the food is good and cheap!

Kelly C.

Yelp
If you want REALLY, REALLY good tacos, the kind of tacos that you wake up craving? Then, you have to go to El Paisa Taqueria inside of Continental Liquors and grab yourself some. I normally have a couple of the bistek on corn and if I'm really hungry a pollo on corn. You can't go wrong with the rice and beans either. I recommend that you never tell co-workers that you are going here for lunch, because after they try it, they'll have you picking up an order or 9 for them every time you go! Give it a whirl, you won't be disappointed. (Single ladies, take a friend with ya when you go.... It's not in the best part of town.)

Malinda T.

Yelp
Best place to have late night Mexican food. Not the Americanized version, but straight up street style tacos. They are the best! Great flavor, freshly made tortillas, great sauces, and great prices for the the size you get. Don't fee intimated by the neighborhood or its surrounds. Come for the food! Great place to come after the bars when you have the cravings for tacos!! I highly recommend this place.

B M.

Yelp
I am stuck with a new place to crave the barbacoa was flavorful, tender vey well done street taco success.

Assman C.

Yelp
Hard to find. Tacos were great, especially the tongue tacos. The menu has change and so has the ownership. Couldn't really eat inside cuz all the table were dirty but I didn't come here for the atmosphere.

Chris D.

Yelp
Authentic taste! The tacos are $1.40 and there is a topping station to load it to your liking. Monday-Thursday the pollo, barbacoa and pastor tacos are $.75!!!! That's right seventy five cents! The menu is in Spanish but they have all the meat choices that you already know... 4 tacos fill me up just fine. The tacos were phenomenal but I don't plan on going unless I'm with my husband!

Dumonte T.

Yelp
I went there today and had the chicken nachos, and I loved it. The staff was very nice, and my order was ready in no time.

Wendy R.

Yelp
Best street tacos ever! They're as authentic as they are going to get! The tacos are $1.40, super cheap, and they are super filling. I can never finish 3 tacos!! They have a toppings bar where u can find cilantro, onion, salsas (yes, more than one kind) and cabbage. I know ur thinking cabbage on tacos? Trust me, it's delicious! I highly recommend u trying these tacos!
