My wife’s obgyn is down the street at Mt Sinai so we ate here after appt. The food was good—she got quesadilla and I got mole poblano and we split nachos. The food was not amazing but totally solid—they also had green “hot” salsa that was not that spicy but had a great punchy garlic taste. I would be more inclined to give five stars but the kitchen was incredibly slow bringing food out—like 30 minutes from app to main dishes. Still, I’ll def come back. Also, our waitress was great.

Great authentic Mexican food. The place is well decorated, and they also have outdoor seating . The service is friendly and attentive . We had the Birria Tacos and the Steak Fajitas . They were delicious, unfortunately I couldn't stay to try other choices, but I will return.

Went here for dinner. Nice atmosphere, authentic and good service. Got the Enchiladas which were delicious. The person I went with got the Fish Tacos which they said were also great. A great Mexican place to eat at if you’re in Manhattan!

I used to love this place. They had three locations I used to frequent, but then I moved. I came back to the city, excited to come back to the location. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating. They have tables outdoors and indoors, so the waitstaff is busy going back and forth. Food was good. Though there was no pico de Galo, very little jalapeño and a small amount of guacamole, no sour cream, and pre shredded cojita cheese (that’s odd for a ‘authentic’ Mexican spot), I enjoyed the nachos. The tacos were also nice. The drinks? My husband and I both got drinks- he got a piba colada and I got a passion fruit frozen margarita My guy they tasted like water was the primary flavor. It was trash. I’ve never had such a flavorless margarita in my life. My husband couldn’t even really drink his piña colada. So if you want good food, come here. If you want alcohol, stick with the beer. I guess COVID affected this spot hard cause it’s just not the same. Maybe I went on an off night. If I ever go back I’ll update.

Be aware when you order on Uber Eats from this place. They don’t respect their promotions and the girl that answers the phone is clueless and refuses to put the manager on the phone. Got my order wrong and she only said sorry with out offering to fix it. Never again order for this place. I wonder why they are going out of business

Fantastic lunch + drinks today! I've eaten here years ago, and was thrilled to eat here again. Two of us enjoyed the outdoor dining in the milder weather, and ordered off the Lunch Special menu: -1 chicken empanada- wow! Outstanding, especially with the sauce - carne asada burrito bowl - Omelett con frijoles & aquacate, perfectly crunchy yet soft veggies + Spinach to complement the eggs, this was awesome! -Margarita, on the rocks, as recommended by our friendly helpful server -Paloma This was a perfect spot for a fresh and very tasty lunch today!

Stop by here for lunch after a clean up in Central Park. We, a group of 12, was able to be seated within seconds of arriving. We were provided menus and water shortly after being seated. I ordered a mojito and burrito bowl with Carne asada. Everything was delicious and service was quick. Nice cozy spot for a quick lunch

This is a little gem in upper Manhattan, located on E.97 st. Between Park & Madison Ave. If you like authentic Mexican cuisine, this is the place for you. A family owned business that has been a part of the community for decades. It's well decorated and it also has outdoor seating for your convenience. The service is friendly and attentive while the food is excellent, I had the Steak Fajitas, and we also tried the Birria Tacos. They were both delicious , and I definitely will go back to taste more choices

We went for Happy hour after work and they had beer bottles for $5, great deal until 6PM. We ordered GUACAMOLE CHIPS that came with a lot of chips but not as much guacamole. The flavor of the guac was just okay, a bit tasteless. We also got the QUESADILLA HUITLACOCHE (or corn smut) which was good, a bit salty for my taste. I liked the TECATE BEER! I have been a few times at EL PASO TAQUERIA and honestly I'm a bit dissapointed on the flavor of the food. However, the restaurant is clean, the staff is nice, drinks are cheap, and have large variety of options in the menu. ESPAÑOL: Fuimos para Happy hour después del trabajo y tenían botellas de cerveza por $5, un buen descuento hasta las 6PM. Pedimos los NACHOS CON GUACAMOLE que venían con abundantes nachos pero no tanto guacamole. El guacamole sabía decente, sin mucho sabor. También probamos la QUESADILLA HUITLACOCHE (un hongo del maíz) que estaba bueno, un poco salado para mi gusto. Me gustó la CERVEZA TECATE. He estado varias veces en EL PASO TAQUERIA y honestamente, estoy un poco decepcionado con el sabor de la comida. Sin embargo, el restaurante está limpio, el personal es amable, las bebidas baratas y tienen gran variedad de opciones en el menú.

I used to get takeout from El Paso on Lexington and 106th or so - it was outstanding. This location has outlasted its sister restaurant, but sadly the food is not as good at this location. I am not sure if they are gearing more towards their UES neighbors, but there definitely something missing here - flavor. I was so excited to visit after a number of years, but it was not good. There was a guacamole that had zero spice and no lime - no bright flavors, nothing. The chips - these were more like nibs. I get the prices have gone up- this place is not holding back on that front, but if you order guacamole with chips you want a full chip, not an1/4 of a chip. Very disappointing on all fronts. There was a spoonful of salsa that came with the burrito - while there was not enough, it was the best thing that I had all night.

Happy Hour with my coworkers we had a vibe. The drinks where delicious. The food was flavorful. Service was outstanding. Must visit during happy hour if you with a big crowd to enjoy your drinks and food at a reasonable price.

Stopped by with some friends on a weekday lunch and it was a great place to catch up over food. It wasn't too crowded and the servers were very attentive. Our food was good and just the right amount to fill us up without feeling too full.

Great little Mexican place with a wide menu. I got the Chicken Enchiladas and a Traditional Margarita. The server was exceptionally attentive-- I have very rarely had better service at a restaurant. One of my friends forgot her to go box and he came outside after us to ensure she got it. would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

Ate dinner there in the outside seating. Food was decent, but the management is atrocious. I ordered a carne asada burrito listed on the menu for $15. When the bill came, it was for a $24 "bistec burrito". I let them know that wasn't what I ordered, and they said it was the same thing- but that the dinner entrees are in a different section and cost more. I was also charged a credit card fee which was not listed on the menu. Manager said I had looked at the takeout menu which had the hours at the top. The hours above the breakfast items says "Breakfast - (whatever) until 3pm." The entrees section doesn't have a time frame. I suggest a simple "3:00 pm til close". Am I really supposed to believe a carne asada burrito is breakfast? Lunch does not exist? He said the credit card charge was listed inside- like I was expected to go inside and tromp around to look for a potential sign that might have an extra charge. I also looked at the menu- there was no entree called "carne asada burrito". When I ordered that, waiter should have let me know only entrees were being served. I told the manager if he refused to make things right, I would be forced to reflect that in the tip. He chose not to make things right, so the poor server had to suffer. I do not recommend this establishment, which is unfortunate since the food is fine.

The chicken burrito here was not bad. I liked that they toasted the outside of the tortilla and make it just a bit crispy. At first, I was a little skeptical about the jalapenos in the burrito since I can't tolerate super spicy food, but I'm glad I left them in. They were a little spicy but just the right kick and not too overwhelming. I wasn't a huge fan of the taste of the rice (it was a little overpowering) and I didn't get a lot of the chicken flavor.

By far the BEST FOOD WEVE HAD!!!! And best service as well! We also had the huiltlacoche quesadilla to die for !! I definitely recommend this place. This place needs 5 stars

If you're looking for some delicious Mexican food in East Harlem, I suggest trying out El Paso Restaurante Mexicano. From start to finish the meal chock full of delicious bites, warm hospitality and good vibes. The inside is decorated colorfully and the music makes it a lively and fun atmosphere. The Al Pastor tacos were incredible as you could taste the achiote marinade on the chicken which was paired with roasted pineapple to truly bring out the sweetness of the fruit. Their birria tacos were also top notch as the meat was insanely tender and juicy. The elote was well balanced and "seasoned." Would've preferred it off the cobb for the sake of clean hands but when it tastes that good, beggars can't be choosers. Their rockstar dish is the aguachile. It's absolutely bursting with flavor. Every bite is loaded with that classic aguachile flavor that you love. Dessert wise, we got the flan and rollitos. Solid flan overall but the rollitos were the highlight. Perfect combo of pastry, bananas and chocolate. Highly recommend especially with their bottomless drinks for brunch!

Ok, this El Paso is more deserving of 3 stars. We came here after a long day visiting in Mt.Sinai. I will agree the place need a decor upgrade especially, removing the folding chairs. However, the food, simply superb! Yes superb! And while the drink menu is limited the drinks are loaded! Yum yum! The staff is attentive and accommodating. If you're by the Hospital visiting, come by for HH. You won't be disappointed! Ever!

Such a cute neighborhood spot but don't be fooled sadly. Their happy hour- it ends before 6pm (even though sign says 6) because their computers close out early. Service was rude as well. It took me a while to get helped/sat while others were seated no problem. Kind of felt like a racial thing but unsure. I'd been here once before about a year and a half ago and it was alright. Perhaps it just depends on who's working?

A onetime dining experience. Lukewarm food, $5 for stale chips & salsa. Noisy street. I would not return.

Very good food and fast delivery! I ordered for my best friend and I, she's hospitalized at Mount Sinai and we were craving some Mexican food that'll hit the spot. This food definitely did that! The chicken Flautas are very good with lots of meat inside. The chicken quesadilla were also delicious with grilled chicken pieces inside and cheese. The salsa verde is not super spicy and compliments everything when you just add it onto the food. Overall I'll definitely eat here again.

This place was such a let down! I am originally from El Paso and wanted to check this place out and give it support. These were the most pathetic Mexican dishes I have ever had. The enchiladas they served were so small than what is NORMALLY and TRADITIONALLY served. The chilaquiles was practically just sauce and that's about it. Really disappointed and the restaurant itself wasn't all that great. Go somewhere else like the real El Paso Texas for some good Mexican food rather than this establishment

This spot was busy even with COVID. The wait wasn't bad. Was offered indoor or outdoor dining. Chose indoor because I get cold easily. We couldn't order any drinks without a meal first (restaurant policy). Ordered 2 margaritas with a quesadilla and burrito. The quesadillas were really small, but good thing I don't eat a lot. The size of the quesadilla was the reason for the 4 star but other than that the restaurant was amazing. Service was A1 and the location was ideal. Will return!

Ok Mexican food. Cheap for the hood. I had a new debit card and the only time it left my sight was paying for lunch at the place. Later that week I had fraudulent charges including a crook ordering door dash McDonald's using my account. I strongly suspect someone employed here took down my card info. It was my only non Apple Pay transaction. Be on the lookout with your account after you use a card here!

El Paso has improved remarkably recently. They revamped their menu and service to improve quality and portions, while keeping the price constant. The staff were incredibly attentive and polite. Had the mole chicken tamal, carne al pastor, and a couple of jalapeño margaritas with a tajin rim. Recommend all the dishes! Great place to go as a group or for after-work getaways!

First! They are very racist. They only tended to the white people. Secondly, I waited for my food to come out for over 30mins just for it to be cold. Another group of white peoples entered the establishment and got their food swiftly. The food was disgusting and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!!!

I've gone here several times for lunch around my job. It's honestly nowhere near the best Mexican you'll have, but it's decent. Their quesadillas are so small, but their tacos are good. It's just one of those spots that just are what they are. Nothing special, but not bad.

I appreciate this place having outdoor seating and lots of vegetarian options. Its's a fine place to eat. But, the entrees are quite expensive, the tamales are dry, and the micheladas were simply too salty. Reduce your bill by splitting an entree - with the included rice and beans, they're huge.

Terrible service and they are not truthful. Their happy hour says it begins at 2pm online but is 3pm in their system and will charge you accordingly. They also have terrible wait staff who are not attentive and can't keep track of bills. I wrote the manager several times with no response. The service coupled with the dishonest advertisements are going to unfortunately put this place out of business. I can't see a place like this surviving in NYC.

Really great staff, took us in even tho it was late and close to closing time and didn't make a fuss. Food was very good too, the birria has a great flavor and the chicken Al carbon was delicious!

Decided to order from this place because of the great reviews ... but let me give my honest opinion we orders chicken tacos. Chicken quesadilla, the shrimp and tostones for drinks Sangria, 2 margaritas (No Ice ) Delivery was quick, the food was good but I've had better. Not enough cheese for my quesadilla. The drinks is where I had the issue because I said no ice they sent half full drinks of margaritas and one full sangria. I called and asked why that was they stated because taking out the ice makes it rise to the top and margarita has more alcohol then Sangria. Which duhh I knew but if I'm paying for something at least call me and tell me how I will get a half full drink. Like literally thought someone drunk it see pics ! The bartender just was going back and fourth no apology . Will not order from there again the person with sangria was tipsy and the people with the marg felt like we wasted money.

Eeeewww! We ordered guac n chips=salty chips and the avocado in the guac was black. We also ordered frozen margaritas, 1 guava and 1 strawberry... tasted like plastic. The fish tacos were a soggy greasy mess covered with some kind of sour slaw. I mentioned to the waitress that the margaritas had no flavor and she said that she made them herself and she added 4 tequilas and flavor. I tried to tell her that maybe the flavor was missing but she just kept talking about how she made the drinks and how good they are. This place is a joke. Bad food. Horrible customer service. Wack ass drinks.

Although it's been a while, I've eaten here many times. Wondering if there's a change of management. I ordered a rice and bean burrito with jalapenos on the side to go. I paid $4 extra for guacamole. Disappointing to get back to the office with my order to a frighteningly terrible burrito - the speck of guacamole that I paid $4 for tasted old and had dark pieces of avocado. Also the lettuce was old and wilted. It tasted terrible. And they forgot the side of jalapenos. Aggravating that I paid over $20 bucks for a LOUSY burrito and tamarind Jarritos. At least the Jarrito was good. Step it up El Paso. You're so much better than this!

A little underwhelming I would say that El Paso probably would be have a rating of 2.5 - 2.8 stars. Starting off, the service at El Paso is pretty impeccable. We were offered a table right away, and the service staff were pretty much on top of everything. The food was just ok. My friends and I ordered a slew of tacos, and I found the meat for my tacos (al pastor, enchilada, and I forgot the other one) to be very chewy and really dry. Like, maybe I should use my margarita as a dipping sauce dry. Perhaps, other things on the very extensive menu are very delicious, but I think that I made the wrong move with my taco selections. Do not get me wrong, the tacos were not THAT bad, I just was expecting something a little better. Also, the price point for the tacos (around 3 bucks) is pretty reasonable, especially for the UES.

I cannot believe how underestimates this place is! The reviews are misleading, I have to say, based on how excellent my experiences have always been with Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour deals. The chorizo tacos are the most authentic I have ever had. No other place serves such home-made chorizo!! Mojito is delicious and a very good deal during happy hours. The servers are extremely nice and treat me as a friend, which I really appreciate as a regular eater there.

The food was great. What merits the 3 star rating is the lack of avocado on our nachos, and the drinks! The margaritas were TERRIBLE. I had a piña colada and my wife a passionfruit margarita, both gross and could barely finish em.

My first experience here was pretty terrible. I went with a friend and we ordered a margarita, a sangria, tacos, and enchiladas. After we put in our order, we received our drinks promptly. Then, waited for an hour and a half before a server came to clean the table next to us. We asked for an approximation of when our food would come out and he said he would ask our server, who was in the kitchen the entire time. The server came out 20 min later and told us he forgot to put our food order in and asked for it again. We were one of three groups dining at the restaurant at this time, so it was not due to overcrowding. When we got our food, it was average at best. I figured this was a one time issue because people have bad days, and proceeded to go again with a group of friends. We went to the happy hour on a Monday afternoon. Little did we know that if you put in a drink order 15 min before happy hour ends, the servers will wait to put the order in after 6pm so you are charged full price. When we brought the discrepancy up, two servers began to argue in front of our table for 10min. They took the check to pretend they were going to fix the issue and brought the same check back. Needless to say, you can find better food, service, prices, and ambiance just a few streets over in East Harlem.

Convienant spot for hospital employees around the corner.... fresh quesadillas (a little oily) but still good. Staff is kind, but doesnt pay too much attention to yelp orders. Quite small inside but good for a 1:1.... not sure if i would go out of my way to dine here though!

been here several times. time 1: ordered take out veggie burrito. was in a rush and told them so. it took them at least 30 min to make this burrito.... time 2: came with friends for nachos and drinks, it was fine but the drinks and food both took forever time 3: WORST EXPERIENCE. got scammed by the two waiters -- they claimed we ordered happy hour drinks AFTER 6pm which was a total lie. after many discussions with them they refused to alter our bill and what should have been $5/drink turned into $11/drink. completely absurd

Horrible experience. Food and drinks were ok but was screwed over by the staff. We came for happy hour but they waited until after happy hour ended to put in our drinks so that we would have to pay more. When we raised the issue with the server, they lied to our face and said that we hadn't even gotten there before the end of happy hour. We know this was not true because we made a point flagging down the waiter before 6 so that we would still be ordering drinks before the end of happy hour. Do not come here, it is not worth the hassle. Go somewhere with better food and with less sketchy service.

Haven't been to the actual restaurant but second time ordering on Uber Eats, foods been pretty good each time. The foods been packed with flavor and priced and portioned well. My recommendations would be the carnitas tacos or chicken burrito. My only issue was finding jalapeños in my burrito, ended up biting into a one and it me caught me off guard. Pretty good food otherwise!!!

Came here for lunch with a group and was disappointed. We ordered the guacamole medium spice and I literally could not taste a single kick. It was below mild. Nonexistent spice. It was also incredulous that they charged $10 for the smallest amount of guac. Also, the chips were very greasy and stale. DISAPPOINTING! I got the carnitas burrito for $8 and it was quite...petite. I wasn't amazed by it in the slightest, but lunch is lunch... Would I come back? NO! I don't think I'd come back even if someone paid for me. Many other places to fill my belly with!

You want straight forward , authentic Mexican food without all the gimmicks and watered down flavors? This is it. Ok so it's not fancy, it's not hip, it's everything I love in good nyc food ... honesty. In an era when all of us are seeking " honesty and truth " this very special side street taqueria is bomb Beautifully served Guacamole in your own private outdoor tent, with a margarita, is the only way to go. :) My last visit I ordered steak fajitas.. medium rare. The beef was marinated perfectly, was tender and served on a sizzling pan as presented. A welcomed dish on a cool November night The wait staff could not be more proud or more professional and humble ... thrilled to have your business. The prices?? So well priced I could ( and might ) return regularly

This is my second time here. There were 4 of us. Fantastic food. The environment was good. The waitress was very helpful.

This place is pretty solid. When my group went there around lunchtime, it was pretty empty and we were directed to a table right away. The waiter service was pretty good and took our orders promptly. However, the food took a while to come. When they did come, the burritos were quite tasty and the portion sizes were good. We ordered some guacamole on the side, and got constant refills of tortilla chips, which was nice. A part of my experience that doesn't affect the evaluation - when I was there, a man came in and ordered a burrito with shrimp in it, and some drink. About halfway through his burrito, he apparently "realized" that the burrito had shrimp in it, then loudly exclaimed to the entire restaurant that he had a severe shrimp allergy and must go to the emergency room immediately. Everybody there knew that it was an obvious finesse - nobody would be stupid enough to eat half a fat burrito with shrimp in it without realizing. I really hope that losers like him would get a life and stop leeching off of small businesses like this.

The only reason I gave 2 stars was because they were open late for a Sunday. The "shrimp" taco had a severed scrap of shrimp tons of onions, slaw and peppers. No flavor whatsoever. Very dry. Didn't come with any very needed sauce. One of the worse tacos I have ever had. I'm very disappointed because I was looking forward to this becoming my new late night spot.

Incredible service! Lovely spot for an afternoon taco. We got the chips and salsa and 3 Baja fish tacos. Each sauce had something new and delicious to offer! The fish tacos had a combo of red and green salsa making it incredibly flavorful. Fish was moist and crispy! LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!! Our tacos came out fast af boy

This place was good at one time, but no longer. The mole poblano tasted as if a bunch of cinnamon was thrown into a pre-existing brown sauce, the rice and beans were flavorless and cold upon service and the carnitas and al pastor meat in the tacos was tough and stringy. Best to avoid this establishment.

No stars. Ordered yesterday at 6:04 pm said delivery would be before 7 pm. At 730 I call and they say food on the way. At 8 pm their phone was busy for the night. Received an email a little after 8 from seamless the order was canceled. Terrible place, bad customer service.

Dine in or take out. Either way enjoy the delicious taste of El Paso taqueria. It's my third time coming in the past two months. I love the chorizo and carnitas burritos. Very big and filling portions. Tonight I ordered the three ground beef hard shell taco plate to go. I had two margaritas while I waited. Really good margs. I'll definitely be coming back. Great service. Very polite staff. Enjoy.

Service - Mediocre Food - just ok Atmosphere - lacked something to desire All and all this is not a place to say, "hey let's go get some outstanding Mexican food!" This is the place to go if there is nothing else in the world to eat. Just don't waste your time or your taste buds....

I wish i could give negative or ZERO stars! Tonight i ordered chicken tacos and as I was eating my second one I watched as a LIVE COCKROACH CRAWLED OUT FROM THE THIRD. I AM ABSOLUTELY APPALLED - HOW DISGUSTING! I called and they said sorry and they would refund the tacos but i told them to refund my entire meal as i would be throwing it out. I can't even believe this happened, it's outrageous! The photos are blurry because the cockroach was alive and crawling around and i did NOT want to open the container for fear of it getting out. I am just so disgusted.
