First time ( went for lunch ) food was great. My husband loved the stake burrito ( meat well seasoned and tender ) with the red sauce. My quesadilla was good chicken was tender ( if they add grilled onions and peppers will be great). And they have happy hour.. will be back for that!!!

It's truly a hidden gem. Best food, service, and people. The third time eating here in 2 weeks 😁 since we discovered it, it's been excellent every time. Food cooked and seasoned to perfection. Staff is always friendly and attentive. You feel like they are having you over for Sunday dinner every time. Couldn't recommend more. Oh, and my bride says the skinny margaritas are fantastic.

The Patio is a true gem in Lexington. The food portions are generous, the nachos and salsa are perfectly crisp, and you absolutely have to try the avocado dip—it’s amazing. Pair it with the coldest beer in town and enjoy it on the best outdoor patio around. Osman and Gustavo make the experience even better with their outstanding service.

We went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday. We have a usual Mexican restaurant that we love but this restaurant had higher google ratings so we decided to give it a try. We were glad we tried it, but won’t be back. The service was great, almost too great. Throughout our 50 minute visit we had five different people visit the table and most of them visited at least two times. It is great to work as a team and they did that wonderfully. However, the number of times they stopped by was almost intrusive. I will say that we were there at a very off time so they were pretty dead. The staff may have been trying to stay busy. The food was good but I have had better Mexican food. Most of the prices were super reasonable, there were some exceptions. I ordered the carne asada jalisco, which was one of those exceptions. I have had this at other restaurants and unfortunately it did not compare. Almost all Mexican restaurants I have been too cut the meat into strips. Steak is hard to cut with a butter knife. Also, the bacon in the dish was just cooked and placed on the top of the meal. Other restaurants incorporate the bacon into the cooking process to add flavor. I wouldn’t highly recommend but you should give it a try as others seemed to have better experiences.

All around a fantastic restaurant. Service is friendly and attentive. Food is flavorful and comes out quickly. A manager came up to us at the end of our meal, gave us a $10 gift card, and thanked us for coming. I can not speak highly enough of El Patio. Strongly recommend!

Our food was absolutely delicious! The food is very well seasoned, the restaurant is immaculately clean, and the service was amazing. I have not had servers this attentive to their guest in a long time. Everyone who works here takes care of you, not just your individual server like most other places. Anytime someone walked past our table, they would stop and ask if we needed anything. I had the Chicken Fajitas and my son had the kids Arroz con Pollo (grilled chicken strips covered in cheese dip) and I would recommend trying either of them. We will definitely be stopping here again next time we are in the area.

Absolutely everything is great about this place. We just moved to KY and we’re recommended this restaurant and there’s no disappointment here. We came here when it’s dead and when it’s busy and the service and food is fast and amazing. And to put a second note on the service. THEY ARE LOVELY! Definitely our go to place for Mexican food

We had a friend recommend. We had some friends come in from out of town so we decided to try. This place had an amazing patio that was part covered and open to accommodate any weather. The service, was amazing. Everyone was polite and friendly. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. Portions were very generous to where you could potentially share. We all loved it. Definitely adding this to one of our places to frequent. Jay!

Best frozen margaritas in town. The service is the best I've had in a long while. You won't wait to need anything since the staff is always coming by to check on things and the waiters don't just take care of their own tables; it seems they know what teamwork means. The food is great. Best enchiladas around. Fajita taco salads are on point. The rest of the food is pretty standard and won't disappoint. If you like the patio atmosphere they have one, with live music at times, which isn't my thing so I like sitting inside. The only thing I would recommend to them is turn down the volume on the TVs inside a bit, but otherwise everything is spectacular. And if you go on a regular the wait staff will remember you, what your preferences are, and are very welcoming.

A friend recommended it and said it was his favorite Mexican spot in town, so my expectations were high and they were totally met. Everything I had was super flavorful, the portions were generous, and the prices were really reasonable. I also loved the outdoor seating area with great vibes, good music, and just an overall fun place to hang out. Will definitely be back! Service was amazing too!

Our new go-to Mexican restaurant! I'm not sure how long El Patio has been open, but we just recently discovered it with our friends. First, the patio area is very nice with plenty of seating and a small stage for live music! There was a band that performed while we were there. They seem to be regulars and they were definitely a vibe. The food was very good as well! Timely and delicious! I of course recommend trying their margaritas as they were wonderful. I think we also got a pina colada (many drinks were had lol) which was also great! Finally, the service was wonderful! I highly recommend!

Excellent food and atmosphere. Decent prices. The place was very busy inside and out. Don't let the parking lot fool that you are in a rough place. The customers and atmosphere is very nice. They have live music on the patio often. They have a large patio and a big potion of it is covered so it's nice out there even if it's raining. We were also very pleased their attentive service even though there many people there and about half of the tables inside and out were full. This is now one of my favorite Mexican spots in town.

Absolutely phenomenal service! Friendly and super quick on everything. You can tell this is a place that cares about your dining experience. Food is just like all the other Mexican restaurants around town which is really good. But the service makes this place stand out. They did a nice job with the patio too. Got the burrito Lexington. If I ordered it again I'd just get the cheese sauce but that's only because that's always my preference

I went to this place for lunch. It's hidden behind some other restaurants on Richmond Road. They had wall to wall televisions for sports. The service was super fast. Salsa was amazing. I ordered the spicy burrito and it did not disappoint. Check this place out.

Unexpected hidden treasure! We found this place on Google Maps and thought the name was cute. With the good reviews, we decided to try it out. We were greeted by pleasant, smiling hosts, and seated immediately. Chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa was fresh and delicious. Our server took our orders promptly, and refilled our drinks throughout our meal. It's a nice, comfortable, home-like ambiance. Everyone was relaxed but efficient. You get the sense that they really enjoy their jobs. Mom got the Burrito Lexington, and she said it was "out of this world". She loved the fresh onions and tomatoes, the medium spiciness of the sauces, and how tender the meat was. I got the chicken chimichanga, and it was excellent. The chicken inside was flavorful and could have been an awesome dish all by itself. The rice was spicy and a great texture, and everything was as it should be. Brandon was great, and all the servers/staff seemed to stop by and check on us. We never felt pressured, just relaxed and like they were making sure we were enjoying everything. For a big dinner for 2 adults, the price was very reasonable (~$40). This was a comfy, delicious meal at a small restaurant that exceeded my expectations. I'll be back in the warmer weather to take advantage of the patio!

I've been trying to get to this restaurant for a while. It did not disappoint! It was not busy, so we were seated immediately. There was a 2 for one lime margarita special that was great! I had rocks the hubby had frozen they were very good. The hubby had the 4 enchilada combo I like the cheese, he liked the beef. I had a la carte Chile releno cheese and it was amazing! The staff was amazing, super friendly and even brought over a competently cup of queso that was great! We will be back!

The staff was extremely attentive. We were offered more chips and salsa. The food was really good inside the restaurant and leftover. Service was extremely fast (but we were the only people seated). There are a ton of TVS, so you could definitely catch all lf the sports games.

Everything is great! I've been a few times but on this rainy, Jan night was especially great! Our server (something w a G?!) was fantastic: The food was fresh and delicious (my husband got the Fahitas and I got the grilled mushrooms). The 12oz Margaritas are buy 1 get 1 all the time! The location is a bit hidden so put in your GPS :) ,

I have gotten take out now twice and great both times. The location is tucked in beside the Hispanic market behind chase bank on Richmond road. The service was great the employees genuinely seem happy to have their restaurant. Food is delicious! We will definitely return and come in to eat sometime. It's cute and clean inside. I'd take this over the more expensive Mexican restaurants ( Like Campestre which is a joke and expensive!) absolutely anytime. Very happy with my dinner.

This is a regular stop for us. The food is consistently amazing and the staff is always friendly. The dishes come out quick, hot, and delicious. There are several TV's mounted around the restaurant to watch whatever sporting event you enjoy. This is a great Mexican restaurant!!

I have been here several times and the food is always outstanding. What sets them apart (beside the great food) is the service. They consistently surprise me how attentive they are to everything. If you haven't tried it I definitely recommend it. Best Mexican food in town.

Let me start with the service was awesome!! I didn't catch our servers name, but they did a good job! The food was ehhh. It was ok but not great. We had fajitas and they were hot but kinda mushy. Flavor was just ok. I would go back and try something else, but there are too many other restaurants that are right on the money for these guys to not be!

The service was amazing, the food was to die for, and we left full and satisfied. This place is a great representation of not judging a book by its cover.

With all of these great reviews we just had to try El Patio for ourselves. Located off Richmond Rd. in a strip mall behind Chase bank, this Mexican restaurant gets high scores in all the things that matter most. First of all, we were seated quickly and brought chips snd salsa. I think it's important for a Mexican restaurant to have a good salsa, and theirs was really good. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. We never had a long wait for anything we needed. We started with guacamole and the cheese dip, and for our entrees I had the chicken chimichanga and my husband had a chicken dish, the Pollo Guanajuato. The entrees were quite large and very tasty! A great value for your money. We both enjoyed our food and look forward to coming back soon.

El Patio has been getting rave review on Yelp and some other community discussion boards. With Mexican food being my favorite I just had to check them out so we ordered takeout. I love salsa...so if you don't have a good salsa I'm probably going to knock off quite a few points. El Patio has a really good one though! It had just a tiny amount of heat which I quite liked. I was excited to see they had a Choripollo because not many in town do. It was just ok though. Not bad but not near the best I've had. Everything else was really tasty though. Finally, we added on some takeout frozen margaritas as well. They were nice and strong but I thought they were missing something flavor wise. I'll happily go back and do more market research though since the food was so good.

The food is delicious and always consistent. Great Margaritas. And the staff is fabulous! It's a large restaurant with lots of TVs and a wonderful patio for relaxing and listening to music.

I am baffled by the high reviews. We got the fajitas and they were mediocre. They didn't give us the happy hour special and it was different from what was online. Our waiter was hard to find and rarely checked on us. Bathrooms also were not clean.

We absolutely love this place! The warm chips and their salsa is so yummy! The food is incredible. I had the Chicken Chimichanga and my husband had the Chefs special. They make you feel very welcomed. Keeping your basket of chips full and your drinks filled! I would definitely recommend you give it a try!

We sat outside on the patio on a Saturday for dinner. Service was very prompt and efficient with multiple servers waiting on us. The Guacamole and Queso were very good! I liked the chips and the salsa was tasty. I got the Deluxe Burrito and requested no meat and to substitute with vegetables and they were very accommodating of my request. The Burrito was huge and it tasted delicious. I recommend El Patio.

We got chicken and shrimp fajitas. I added grilled mushrooms to the fajitas. This was so delicious!! Everything had amazing flavor and the smiles on everyone's faces are infectious. The service is top notch!

I could not have better things to say about our experience! The service was excellent, the patio was lovely, the salsa and cheese dip were amazing and all seven of us LOVED our food. The Burrito Lexington was excellent and could be shared with someone else. This is my new favorite spot in town.

You know what they say... if I could give it ten stars, I would. Oh, I think I just made that up. You know what else I made up? The saying: I've never met a burrito that I couldn't finish. Well, that particular statement no longer rings true. All thanks to El Patio, the home of my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Lexington. The Richmond Road location is definitely hidden, in the former Life Brew location. With it's red walls, and immaculate decor, it's very modern and contemporary. They opened in the midst of the pandemic craziness, four months ago. As we pulled in I noticed the neon sign scrolling the special of the day, the fajitas. Chicken fajitas is what my husband usually orders anyways, so he was ready to order as soon as the sat down. I had to ask the waiter for a recommendation of the best burrito. The burrito deluxe is what our phenomenal waiter recommended, and his definition keyword was "huge". Huge was almost an understatement. To say his recommendation didn't disappoint, is definitely an understatement. The steak inside was phenomenal and the spices were like nowhere else in Lexington. Everything was flavorful without being overly spicy. My husband is a hard one to please and he was impressed from the moment we sat down and his request for homemade salsa was fulfilled to not one, but two house made hot sauces.

Everything in me wanted to like this place because the reviews are so high. I love Mexican food. This place just didn't do it. Very mediocre Mexican food. The service was good, they couldn't serve any alcohol for some reason. Unsure if I will come back to retry it.... The flavor just wasn't there for me.

Listen. When I say say do NOT sleep on El Patio, I mean it. My husband and I are frequent flyers and have NEVER had a bad meal here. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about menu items, the margaritas are amazing and you cannot beat the food. They have a great patio and on Wednesday nights have live music. If you haven't been there, run, don't walk to El Patio! It is one of my favorite places to eat in Lexington.

Went to El Patio with my boyfriend and we had the best time! Brandon was an amazing server and made sure we were comfortable the whole time. I recommend the raspberry margarita it was so smooth to drink. A lengthy menu, but the burrito, guacamole, and salsa where incredible. My boyfriend got the Tamales and said they were amazing!

I was trying very hard to give this a 5, but I learned from someone if you give a place a 5 that means you will be hard-pressed to find anything better. Their location is a little hard to find, they are behind Shammy car wash which is next to Qdoba. To go through Shammy car wash from behind their building you will drive by their door front. in the back corner behind the International Market. Their sign is not very visible from the main parking area of the shopping plaza. Upon entering warmly greeted, I would say they are very attentive at customer service, I had no problems with drinks running dry, or them making sure there is nothing further they could do for me, and if there were any concerns to please let them know. The place is clean, very modern and clean they have only been open for 5 weeks, It's a slightly different atmosphere than your typical Mexican restaurant and not in a bad way. Where I am being critical is the food came out quickly, hot, and all looked fresh, but and it may be personal preference but I normally expect strips of steak and these were smaller finer pieces and with the oil, they saute in, everything sorta looked the same color. more of a presentation issue. not picture perfect. and steak could use some seasoning I think, the taste got lost in the cooking process somewhere. It was good, don't get me wrong, it was a good value as well, they don't overcharge you for soft drinks. This is a place worth trying! I give it a Recommend rating

This was my first time visiting El Patio, but definitely will not be my last. I'm not sure how I had never heard of this restaurant before. It's tucked back on Richmond Road. The service was great. Every employee spoke to us as they walked by and checked to make sure we were taken care of. The food tasted incredible. I had the chicken chimichanga with rice. Everything tasted fresh and very flavorful. My husband has a burrito and loved it.

We have two go-to Mexican spots in town, one has a great features menu and the other one has amazing tacos, tortas and the like. We decided to try something new yesterday, and for what it was, it didn't disappoint. The menu is no different than any of a dozen other Mexican restaurants: queso, nachos, fajitas, queso, chimichangas, etc. That said, the quality and portion size was better than any other standard Mexican restaurants in town. When I'm in the mood, I'll definitely be back, especially for the chile relleno which was probably the best I have ever had.

Our new favorite place for Mexican food! Service was excellent as was the food. It came out hot and fast, and you could tell they put great care into it. I got the fajita quesadilla and my girlfriend got the enchiladas. We both enjoyed them very much. Try the refried beans, they're different than every other place. A nice smoky flavor. The manager gave us free queso and they packed up our leftovers for us and put in free chips and salsa!
