"If you like the idea of market-influenced cuisine with a global touch, this restaurant in the heart of the city will undoubtedly appeal. Behind the striking façade of a century-old building is this charming dining space with an eclectic feel split between several floors that in the past was owned by an antique dealer, which explains some of its unusual decorative detail. The cuisine here is showcased exclusively on two menus (De Mercado and Degustación Salamanca), on which we particularly enjoyed the wild sea bass with a mussel beurre blanc, spinach and samphire. Several original private dining rooms are also an option here." - Michelin Inspector

The food was nicely presented. Each dish explained. Tasted good. Good value for the tasting menu.

We had menu de mercado €35. Everything looked lovely but nothing stood out. I booked online and let them know I was lactose intolerant but I didn’t read fine print. They cannot adapt ser menu. I’ve never had that before in a fine dining restaurant. So didn’t eat dessert or petit fours They say to contact them with allergies before booking. As I had booked online and advised them. I thought that was sufficient. If you want a nice lunch it’s nice but not amazing

Really the most wonderful gastronomic experience and at a price not much more than McDonald's!!! How do you offer such fabulous value at such affordable prices? Every dish was a work of art and a taste explosion. Staff were super efficient and knowledgeable. Do not visit Salamanca without visiting el Pecado.....

I really enjoyed this tasting menu. I'm not accustomed to this kind of dining, only done it a handful of times, but I will say this one was good but not life changing. Why five stars? It's priced very reasonably and the service was friendly and amazing. A memorable meal for sure! The final beef dish was spectacular, as was the Serrano Limon and the Thai style fish. Three protein plates in total out of nine dishes and it was more than enough! And the sorbet! Amazing! Portions are very large. I'm a overweight American and I had more food than I could eat! I would change the pickled pig ear, it was immensely greasy and didn't have enough vinegar to offset it. Second the pollo campero tasted like canned chicken, so I recommend taking that one back to testing as well.

Love the use of apple as a decoration, simple and effective. Food is playful and good, very good value too.

Amazing food with nice surprise inviting Falafel as a starter. The taste is fresh and unique, suitable for a nice dating meal. The waiter/waitress here were kind and well-serving. We enjoyed the time here. Recommend.

Yelp
We came in simply because the menu outside included a LIST of vegan options and they were all €12.95. Nothing on the menu over €20! (We fed five for less than €100 - note: no appetizers or alcohol and just one dessert) Vegan options at the time of this review: Quinoa and veggie soup Seasonal salad Veggie tartar (veggies, lime, ginger, avacado) Hummus and pita Moroccan-style tabouleh Rissoto w/zucchini Veggie (fried) spring rolls w/orange sauce Thai-style noodles and veggies And... The veggie burger (with carrot sauce) We ordered a single order of bread to start (€1) and also got two little shots of spiced garbanzo soup with it. We heard the server make sure it was vegan before she brought it. Tasty and a warm welcome on a cold day. I'd order a whole bowl of it if I saw it on the menu. Our server recommended the rissoto - an excellent choice. It's made with wheat and a creamy sauce, with zucchini and carrots mixed in. Portion size was perfect. If you can't tell in the photo - it's a pretty thick cylinder! Overall - impressed with the food quality and the service. Vegans rejoice. If you're eating with non-vegans - everyone will be happy!

Yelp
First of all, the photos on here are massively out of date. This place has obviously had som kind of refurb at some point and does not have any of the garish pink walls or zebra print. Instead they have done a modern yet tasteful look with branding that I love. We visited on a Thursday evening and after spending a few days in Salamanca soon understood why El Pecado wasn't doing a roaring trade. It was quite expensive compared to it's competitors. Now I understand what they are trying to do... what they are 'trying' to do, is be a 'fine dining' establishment and this is reflected in the prices and the presentation of the food. Now they are not quite a fine dining restaurant but this does not mean that they aren't doing lots of things right. The food we had was great. Not fantastic but certainly delicious and I enjoyed every part of my meal. I particularly loved the prawns I had as a starter and would definitely recommend them. The service we had was also very good. Maybe a little slow considering there was only one other table, but still I left satisfied that our waitress had attended us well and with a smile. Overall, I would recommend this place to eat... but I would suggest having the set menu at €25 for 3 courses as that would seem much better value than our bill which I thought was far too steep.
