"The reason you come to El Pimiento is for the live flamenco on Thursdays. The singing and dancing starts at 7pm, so make reservations because the Miami Lakes spot only has about a dozen tables. The dining room is bordered by twinkle lights and full of nicknacks, like Spanish hand fans and medieval weapons hanging on the walls. But there are also decent tapas too, like garbanzos fritos. They have a strong pepper flavor (fitting for a place named after the vegetable) and are really loaded with chorizo and smoky paprika. Other dishes like the filetillo con salsa cabrales are a miss. Still, if you’re looking for a restaurant that can awaken your inner duende while you munch on tapas, El Pimiento is a solid choice." - virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, ryan pfeffer

Google
We visited El Pimiento and were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and inviting the place looked as soon as we walked in. We ordered several small tapas, and overall the food was very good. The patatas bravas were fantastic — definitely a highlight. Unfortunately, the only disappointment was the octopus, which didn’t quite meet our expectations. The dessert was average, nothing extraordinary, but the rest of the dishes were delicious. Service was excellent — Yusniel was attentive, and Laila stood out with her warm attitude, always keeping our table clean and making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was great, cozy and enjoyable. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

We walked in the door and were very surprised and excited to see this restaurant was for authentic food of Espana / Spain. Having just cruised and visited family in Spain I can tell you this place was the real deal. I felt like I was on vacation again eating here. We were greeted at the door by Roberto who in true Spain fashion spoke with us for a bit before starting the order. Our order consisted of Tapas, shared dish of Ox Tail with mashed potatoes, Coca Cola, and Sangria. Completed with the bread pudding desert. The food was authentic and amazing!!! Sangria was excellent. The meat easily came off the bone it was so tender. Above and beyond service. If you are looking for a great meal and/or authentic Spain meal this is the place! Highly recommend!! You will not regret the visit. Price was under $100 before tip was placed. Out the door $120 for 2 with above mentioned order.

Came for my 5 year anniversary, it was great. Great ambience, servers were awesome, and the food was 10/10.this place feels so authentic and homey, I’ll definitely be coming back! (Thursdays they have live music and dancers but it’s best you make a reservation)

If you’re looking for authentic Spanish cuisine in Miami Lakes, this place is a must-visit. The food is outstanding—every dish is packed with rich, traditional flavors, cooked to perfection. From tapas to main courses, everything is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The service stands out just as much as the food. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They make you feel like you’re part of the family, which adds a personal touch to the whole experience. The ambiance is warm, lively, and inviting. Whether you’re out for a date night, family dinner, or a casual evening with friends, the vibe fits perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a unique and memorable dining experience. This spot delivers on all fronts—food, service, and atmosphere.

Google
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! This is our second time here and it always exceeds all expectations — the food, the atmosphere, and especially the service were all top-notch. We tried the garbanzos fritos, croquetas, and patatas bravas, and each dish was packed with flavor and prepared to perfection. A special tip: ask for their calamares fritos — they’re not listed on the menu, but they are incredible. Perfectly crispy, tender, and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend this place to anyone craving authentic Spanish cuisine with exceptional service. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
Super cute small restaurant in a strip mall in Miami Lakes. Decorated with flair! Parking is free and readily available. Music is at a medium level and patron chatter is also at a medium level. Very good service & a variety of delicious tapas & other selections. Sangria was delicious, strong and not watered down. We went on a weeknight and it got was almost full around 8pm. Good for date night, girls night, quick dinner.

Google
Perfect lunch spot, even during the work day. The ambience is busy yet tranquil. I ordered 3 tapas, prob too much for 1, but they were great and came out fast. Hilda was attentive and sweet. I highly recommend.

Google
Hidden gem in Miami Lakes! I took my mom for her 94th birthday. The service was excellent. Ambience was wonderful and the paella was delicious! We will definitely recommend and come back soon!

Yelp
This hidden gem in Miami Lakes is a place to die for. When I first got there, I was greeted by the friendliest and most energetic people I've ever met. The food was impeccable; if you're looking for the best Paella around, you need to try the Paella Valenciana. The background music along with the dim lights set the tone for a great night. The service was amazing, and so was the food--I can't wait to go back! Every detail, from the presentation to the flavors, was absolutely flawless.

Dayria D.

Yelp
Love this place! the food and atmosphere is outstanding, defitely worth it. Paella was amazing and extremely tasty. 100% recommended.

Pablo R.

Yelp
Arrived with a reservation and they quickly sat us down. We ordered four tapas and a dessert. The food came out quick, hot, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was also authentic, not a modern twist on Spaniard food. The restaurant has an interesting decor and feels European as well. Highly enjoyed our night and would definitely come again!

Yelp
Trying to please the craving for some Spanish tapas, walked in to this restaurant without a reservation and tried to get a table for two. The hostess came up to us after several minutes standing by the door and asked us if we had a reservation and we responded we didn't have one. Rudly, she informed us that she couldn't give us a table because they only service those with reservations. I observed the restaurant and noticed there were four empty tables. There was nobody waiting and no sign of anybody walking in and she turned us away by telling us that we would have to wait an hour to see if there was a possibility of seating us. Very disappointed, we did not accept and walked away. Don't think I'll be considering to make reservations to go there in the future not only because of our welcoming bad experience but also the reviews overall.

Yelp
Some friends and I decided to have a birthday celebration at this restaurant which came highly recommended. Our waiternamame was Able. He was very friendly and fun. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. We decided on several items and we also ordered a picture of white sangria. The food was very good. See the pictures for our food items and the presentations. I would recommend this place

Lorraine A.

Yelp
Amazing Food and service! Went for a late lunch which was great, for dinner reservations are recommended! We started with the most delicious croquetas de bacalao & patatas brava. We decided on the paella negra which was the best! Great portion to share among 2-3 people. For dessert we tried their in house tiramisu and wow it was perfection, the perfect balance of mascarpone and sponginess. I will definitely be going back!

Hani C.

Yelp
Friendly staff, nice service, small location. We got lucky there was an open table on a Sunday night. I will always crave some Spanish tapas (it's probably in the blood) and El Pimiento hit the spot. You can tell each dish is prepared by hands that have years and years of practice. We ordered several plates to share. The chistorra (not pictured) was devoured, the pulpo a la gallega was yummy but felt the ratio of octopus to potato could have been slightly better. The huevos rotos and the cheese cake were probably the stars of the night for me. DO NOT SKIP EITHER ONE! If I had to go without something it would probably be the sangria as it had no wow factor for me and the caldo gallego was a bit too runny for my liking. We will definitely be back to try more dishes and because I need that cheesecake in my life!

Renelia R.

Yelp
Small place but definitely a gem. The service is great, very kind ladies. Not sure if every day, but they have live music. Love love looovve their garbanzos fritos, salads and tostones with meat. Wasn't a fan of the chicken or the pimentones with bacalao, the taste could definitely improve.

Rajiv K.

Yelp
Nicely themed, quaint Spanish tapas restaurant. Robust menu, which is fairly priced. Everything from small tapas to larger plates like paella. Everything I tried was very tasty and nicely seasoned. They also have a wide selection of wines. Service was as expected, friendly and attentive. Id easily return if in the area.

Yelp
Food was authentic, love the atmosphere and ALL the staff were wonderful. Looking forward to coming back to tablado night on Thursday. Thank you everyone and for making it so special. Art S. Miami Lakes, Fl. 33026

Yelp
Proof that everything happens for a reason. Had been trying to go to this restaurant for years. Something always made it so I wouldn't go. Cancellations, alternate plans, just not thinking about it - you name it and it happened. Well, as it turns out, earlier this week was finally my time! Met up there to see a girlfriend after the original restaurant we intended on going to unfortunately closed. Somehow miraculously we got the last table as they were packed on a Wednesday night, so here's my tip to you: make a reservation! Anyhow, they have two tables outside and we got one of them. The staff predominantly spoke Spanish, so if you only speak English, it may be in your best interest to take a Spanish speaker with you. In terms of their menus (yes, they have two - one for food and one for drinks), let me tell you that they are massive. We spent awhile perusing them and finally deciding what to order. I had a glass of sangria that just was strong and fruity how I like it. My girlfriend had herself a Sprite. There we were contemplating what to order when the most delicious-smelling bread came. It was hot and soft and an amazing beginning to our meal. Speaking of beginnings, we ordered two dishes as appetizers: a tortilla española and tostones con ropa vieja. The tortilla española was godly, especially with their aioli. It was something else. The tostones? Meh. They weren't good admittedly. I found the ropa vieja flavorless and the tostones all right, but my girlfriend felt the opposite. Tostones were horrible for her and the ropa vieja was fine. At any rate, something was off about this dish. For our mains, we both got the solomillo or filet mignon. We both had it well done. Scream now, but whatever. It was perfect for our taste. And the French fries we got with? Probably the best we've had in ages. I wound up when leftovers and enjoyed them the next day. Absolutely delectable, especially with their cilantro sauce. I could seriously have that bottled to add onto a bunch of plates. All that said, it was a lovely evening. The staff even took the tostones con ropa vieja off our tab. Now that's good service! Still, the most impressive thing about this place is that they've been feeding a family of duckies outside. We got to see them in action and it was so cute. Long live the duckies!

Yelp
The food is good especially the bell peppers , good service, and great Spanish vibe. Make a reservation!

Yelp
Tucked away in Miami Lakes, El Pimiento Restaurant is like a little slice of Spain right here in Florida. It's my go-to spot, when I want to just relax and have some comfort food. The vibe at El Pimiento is cozy and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted like an old friend. The owners and staff are super friendly and always make you feel right at home. The Garbanzo Frito is my favorite and hands down the best I've ever had. And then there's the Solomillo al Whiskey! Wash it down with one of their Spanish wines and enjoy great service and atmosphere What really keeps me coming back is the vibe. It's not just about the food, it's about the whole experience. Whether you're there for the first time or you're a regular like me, you're treated like family

Yelp
So glad I decided to tag along with my girlfriend and her dad to this Spanish restaurant. What a cool little place. The staff was great and the owner was super chill, I felt like I was coming over to visit a cousin whom I haven't seen in a long time. The establishment was tiny but the space was utilized and every inch was filled with memorabilia from Spain. Started with the Cured pork Serrano ham and Manchego cheese. Very savory and I paired it with the Albariño wine. It was the perfect combination, the wine was sweet but not too sweet as other whites I had before. I also had the ham bombones, which were okay. For my entry I had the filet mignon medium rare with a side of steam potatoes and the sweet plantains. I also had the dish with a blue cheese sauce and boy that sauce was something else, it was out this world!! I paired this dish with the 1906 Black Coupage, a dunkle from Spain. This beer was smooth and I could taste chocolate, coffee and licorice all which blended super well. Lastly to finish off I had what is probably the best flan ever. Definitely would recommend this place down in Miami.

Michelle D.

Yelp
What a cute little place! Loved the food here. I truly felt like I was in Spain. We will definitely be back.

Evelin I.

Yelp
Este restaurante es divino! Empezando por su decoración, la bella Rosa en la mesa, el ambiente, deliciosa comida y excelente servicio. Totalmente recomendado!

Liz T.

Yelp
This is definitely not the same as it was 10+ years ago. Not sure if it is new owners but it doesn't compare. The food is not authentic Spanish food like it used to be. Ex. the papas bravas taste as if they were made with spicy velveta cheese sauce. During my most recent visit the service was not on point. Several people would come to ask you the same question over and over, and the hostess greeted us by telling us we had a time limit on our reserved table.

Mark F.

Yelp
Our second visit to this fantastic restaurant! A 5 Stars-out-of-5! The food and wine is fantastic and the service is exceptional! The owner's are always so very friendly and on-the-spot! They cherish their customers and work very hard to ensure you have a great dining experience! We highly recommend you visit this Spanish themed restaurant anytime you are visiting the Miami Lakes area!

Mylene C.

Yelp
Went for lunch today... great service, delicious Albariño wine, and savory tapas! Great lunch!

Ozzie G.

Yelp
This is Classic in Miami Lakes for when you're in the mood for authentic Spanish tapas, ambiance and service!!!! It's been a staple in the area and outlived other restaurants due to its authenticity!!!

Claire W.

Yelp
The tapas are delicious. Went here for a girls night out and loved that they had a nice selection of authentic Spanish dishes. We were hoping to have some live entertainment on a Friday evening - missed opportunity. Overall, cute little restaurant.

Juliana B.

Yelp
We went for my husband birthday and Everything was amazing! Great small and cozy restaurant We order for tapas the pulpo, patas bravas, the pimiento with garbanzo, croquetas and the albóndigas with cilantro everything was delicious. We also got the paella campesina. I recommend it 100% Also I need to mention the excellent service, everyone was on point and really nice.

Claudia T.

Yelp
The food especially the bacalao croquettes are impeccable, the service phenomenal, I love the owners the wife and her Italian husband who always tells us the backstory on wine which helps us choose which ones we like, excellent wine and garbanzos, the restaurant in itself is super pretty and very Spanish oriented as if I were in Spain ambiance is perfect love it!

Michelle H.

Yelp
This restaurant deserves the 5 stars I'm giving them. It's the hole in the wall place you find in Spain, but lucky enough it's in Miami Lakes. It's a cozy restaurant that provides all the flavor and Spanish ambiance. Do yourself a favor and order a Paella Valenciana, it typically takes 45 mins to make and it's worth all the wait. Then you can proceed to order all the tapas as you wait for your paella and let me tell you they are all delicious. Some of my favorites are the croquetas, patatas bravas, calamares, chorizos al vino, tostones con ropa vieja. The best one in my opinion is the garbanzo frito! IT'S AMAZING They do have a good wine selection. I usually go with Viña Bujanda - a rioja that pairs well with the mix of shellfish and meats!

Montero M.

Yelp
patatas bravas good & spicy $13 the sopon marinero $16 was very flavorful and full of seafood substance the bowl itself is very small I was expecting a much larger "sopon" but it was filling and delicious the corvina cilantro $26 was so good! the boiled potatoes were pretty bland they just tasted like olive oil.

Jorge B.

Yelp
The food was beyond delicious, the server was friendly and the ambiance took me from Miami to Spain.

Maria Elena G.

Yelp
Great family restaurant. First time there. Highly recommend. Had different types of tapas. Other tapas restaurants that be I have been to have same old same old, but they had a big selection. Staff very friendly, felt right at home, we will be returning!!

Victoria G.

Yelp
This spot is SO CUTE and small ! The tapas are Devine and are most definitely visiting again this week and taking our parents. Wine was delicious , and service was outstanding.

Sharon F.

Yelp
We opened the door to the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with a small and super cozy ambiance. Some of the tapas were delicious, the garbanzos and octopus; others not so much, the albóndigas and the calamari. Service was poor. We probably won't be back but it was worth the try. We wished the food and service matched the ambiance.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
I have been looking for a Spanish (Spain) Tapas close by, and finally we found it. Delicious food, great service, great sangria, very cozy place and good music. Super recommended.

Alfredo C.

Yelp
Good service, good food and good ambience . Enjoyed the cardo Gallego, soup, overall the tapas were very good like the chorizo and the croquetas.

Sergio F.

Yelp
Even with - especially with - the limits of "the crown" you have to show your hometown spots some love. A Miami Lakes institution, El Pimiento certainly deserves mucho mucho amor. It's tucked away in a shopping center right off Ludlam and near the Palmetto, so it definitely qualifies as a hidden gem! I called my order for dinner, and it was ready at the promised time. The cashier was pleasant, smiling through the mask and even let me vent a little about all of the restrictions. As far as my food, the patatas brava were generous sized, of a good consistency and plenty of deliciously spicy sauce. The kick was perfect, and the sauce was enough to add to my huevos rotos. The serrano had was perfectly salty, and it was served with three eggs and plenty of potatoes. I did have to cut it and mash it myself, though not as artistically as the restaurant staff does. I look forward to those Friday night shows soon!

Carlos C.

Yelp
Food was great. The ambience was phenomenal the wife and I love the place. Highly recommend.

Helen A.

Yelp
Good wine selection. Ambiance is familiar. You must try the garbanzo frito . Staff is attentive and friendly.

Yoyi V.

Yelp
This place is small, reservations highly recommended on weekends and the day they have the flamenco show. Food is flavorful, serving portions are small for the price they charge, entree menu restricted but good variety of tapas

Diana C.

Yelp
This is a small restaurant, it was super busy when we went, the music is way too loud so you can barely have a conversation (unless you sit outside), and service was a little slow because it was way too busy. However, the waiters are very nice. I really enjoyed their glass of sangria - it comes with fruit pieces. We ordered four tapas which were all okay. I feel like the sausage with the wine wasn't that special, the garlic shrimp needed some extra salt and I couldn't taste the garlic much, it kinda felt oily. The house meatballs were pretty good. The beef strips were cooked with blue cheese, and the cheese was very strong so I didn't particularly like it and the meat was tough (we ordered it because our waiter recommended it, we didn't actually know what we ordered LOL). Lastly, I feel like the price point was a bit high for each tapa.

Juan B.

Yelp
Great place, great atmosphere, great food. No complaints about that, but they took butter from being served with bread!! Why?? please "details, details" go a long way!!!. Do not start losing those details.

Lucia G.

Yelp
What a pleasant re-discovery of an all-time favorite Spanish tapas place in Miami Lakes. The new owners surely knew how to regain its unique character and delicious specialties. The albóndigas in salsa cabrales, the pimiento relleno de gambas and champiñones are to die for!

Monica F.

Yelp
Great paella, patatas bravas, maduros & service! The restaurant is very cute inside and perfect for a date night. Would also highly recommend for catering needs!

Betty V.

Yelp
This place became my favorite from the first day I visited it, the food and service are excellent, every time I visit it I feel like I was in Spain, I recommend this place 100% they make you feel at home ! the best restaurant to visit and also is very familiar and welcoming !!

Manuel R.

Yelp
They had a good selection, put a bit pricey. I haven't visited again. I do plan to get it another chance

Andres S.

Yelp
This is one of those finds that makes you happy when you find it. The ambience and the service is excellent. Drink selection is good. Some of the dishes though, have room for improvement. The Jamon Serrano and Manchego croquetas were very good. The piquillos filled with cod were excellent, however they could've used a sauce to brighten up the dish. The chipirones were delicious. Unfortunately, the solomillo al whisky appetizer was a big letdown. Some dishes seem to be some weird cuban/spanish fusion that to me should have no place in the menu. We also tried a bocadillo with Serrano, Cantimpalo and Manchego, on gallego bread, but it was not great, and I don't think it was the ingredients, but how they were brought together. We will look forward to a next visit hoping to try one of their paellas.

Gisele G.

Yelp
Love this place. Great Spanish restaurant- tapas and paella are excellent. They also have an outstanding Spanish wine list. Not to be missed.

Jose P.

Yelp
Excelente almofera pequeño pero cálido. Ideal para familias, encuentros o celebraciones auténticas comida ibérica desde sus bebidas tapas y postres

Mabel O.

Yelp
They say 3rd time is a charm but I am not so sure on this one! We had been trying to come here several times and without reservation they don't even sit you. That's not good business but I can understand since it's a very small place! We made a reservation for a party of 11 and we could only be seated outside ! I can say it's really the first and last time we come here. Not even to make a reservation was it a friendly atmosphere ! Im giving a 2 star based only on Abel's service. He was attentive and super accommodating. Ham and manchego Croquetas are tasteless balls of mush . Cod croquettes are very good. And the spicy meatballs are not very good! But the worst to us was the bacalao a la gallega. We were grateful that it was taken off the bill but that wasn't the point. The paella is everything but paella ! There's is a Pretty good choice of wines but not worth the money . When in the mood for cod croquettes and wine you may want to visit. And their Buñuelos are very good! Otherwise you're better off at la Taberna de Ignacio ! Oh well .. next....

Sarah P.

Yelp
We had a very enjoying evening here tonight...first time we have visited this establishment...and it will not be the last for sure. Cute cosey Spanish style decor...loved it. Friendly informative staff...on point. Fabulous lively guitarist and singer. Spanish style. Loved it Loads of wine choices..fantastic Tasty Spanish style food. We could have been in Barcelona, or anywhere Spain...you are ransported of an evening to Spain. We will be back!

Bianca R.

Yelp
The worst experience . I will never return. Look at picture for full review. Service I think is what made everything worse. Food was not terrible, but the service killed the whole experience.

Evelyn M.

Yelp
Authentic, friendly and delicious! I reviewed Pimiento four years ago - it was great then and it's even better now. We started with the tabla with ham and manchego which is so good, I can enjoy that with wine alone and be happy. We also had the mussels which were perfect - the sauce was really good. The sardines taste just like they did in Spain, full of flavor, salty, and perfect paired with a strong red wine. The paella is one of the best I've ever had - it's made to order and it takes a full hour so order that first. We had the churros for dessert + a three chocolate mousse thing (forgot the name), but advice is don't skip dessert here!

Guillermo V.

Yelp
For my peeps in Miami Lakes, and beyond! Just visited for the first time last night! Excellent food... we practically ate the whole menu at a dinner party arranged by a friend! I highly recommend the anchovies and the bacalao croquetas... not to mention the ink paella! The service was excellent, and the LIVE music was awesome! Def will be back! Highly recommend.
