El Pirata Tortas Y Burritos - Review - Georgetown - Seattle - The Infatuation

"As the name suggests, this small walkup window in Georgetown has an extensive menu of tortas and burritos—but we prefer the latter. You can start off the day with their Spanish breakfast burrito that has a nice kick from chorizo, fluffy eggs, and a lightly toasted tortilla keeping it from becoming a mess. For a satisfying lunch or dinner, there’s a plump seafood burrito stuffed with well-seasoned cod, red rice, and avocado, and dressed in a tasty jalapeño aioli. And out of all the tortas, their el cubano stands out thanks to a thick slab of juicy pork belly. Just note that the sandwich goes a little overboard with the toppings. Stick to those burritos." - Gabe Guarente

Google
This place has really good reviews and I really wanted to like it a lot. I think the main thing that was a little weird to me was we ordered a carne asada burrito and also carne asada tacos and the meat was different on each item. It didn't taste like what I would call carne asada. It wasn't bad it was just odd so my daughter did not need her burrito. The man working the front was very nice and told us multiple times if they need anything he would help us out and he was very kind. My husband's breakfast burrito was very good and it had all kinds of stuff in it. My tacos were decent. The rice I think would have been good if it was warm but unfortunately it was cold. The beans were good and basic. There was very little seating. Two bench seats out front so this is mostly a to go kind of place. Also a little hard to find parking. It was not bad but I probably wouldn't try it again.

Google
Amazing sandwiches and even better service! If you’re looking for a hot juicy sandwich this is the spot. Definitely get the mac salad as your side. The owner was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Will be returning.

Google
All filler. You start to really lose points the last 1/4 of your burrito is nothing but rice. Made special trip to try out the “Super Chicken Burrito” after seeing in on insta, but there is nothing super about that burrito. Very little chicken at all and strange after taste. The Mac salad was good but little portion. Maybe try out the Tortas if I’m in the neighborhood but left feeling ripped off after going here.

Google
Some of the worst tacos around. The meats are soggy and bland. The salsa is not fresh, the diced tomatoes and onions were lacking salt and acid. Overall everything was bland. The silver lining is the price and portion. It could be worth coming back for a torta.

Enrique (I think the owner?) is literally the sweetest human ever. Food was fantastic, such a cute little spot on the corner. Would highly recommend!!!!!

Google
First time trying this place. The owner recommended el Cubano torta, and He was not wrong! It was great. I got the sliced, hot potatoes instead of the Mac salad. They offer walk-up service with a couple of outside benches for seating. Parking is a challenge, but doable. This place seems a favorite of locals that walk to and from work or home for lunch. Currently, only a "Good" rating from the Health Department, but everything I saw was great! I'll be back to explore more of their menu!

I got the El Dorado sandwich and it was really good! Service was excellent, they helped me figure out what I was really craving and it hit the spot.

Google
Amazing food! I tried the La Bamba torta and the Mac salad: it did not disappoint. The food is incredible and the owner is extremely kind. Will definitely be back to try other items!

Yelp
Wow. The El Diablo Torta with shrimp and cheese (blue cheese?) is an incredible mix of flavors. I haven't had chorizo balanced with shrimp often (or ever?) and the combination of "surf and turf" is brilliant, and somehow contrasts incredibly well with the chipotle aioli. It's a huge burst of flavor. The bread was soft, the portion large and filling for the price, and service super friendly. Oh - the chocoflan is amazing. Probably one of the best I've had in the city. Flan part is super custardy and not too sweet and very milky. The cake part, which I often find dry and lacking in flavor in similar combinations, was rich and had a tender crumb. Definitely get this for dessert!

Yelp
It's been a minute since I went here but I think it's even better than I remembered! The Mac salad this time was more flavorful. Not sure what they did to it but typically I almost begrudgingly eat that stuff when it comes with meals (like when I get Hawaiian food) but I couldn't stop eating this one! I also tried the strawberry flan today. The flan on top was suuuper rich. Highly recommend, especially for the price. Lastly, the El Diablo sandwich was spicier (but not too spicy) than last time which I actually appreciate because that was my only complaint last time that it's called El Diablo but it wasn't spicy. It's not a very big sandwich, but they really stuffed it with chorizo and shrimp. Service was very nice and didn't have to wait too long. You order at a walk up window and there's an outdoor bench if you want to eat there

Yelp
The birria burrito was excellent, flavorful and balanced, soft tortilla, juicy birria, crunchy bright pickled onions and creamy pinto beans and rice. Just right. Didn't like the Cubano, lacked flavor and texture - was honestly not great, bland and mushy/unremarkable bread and a boiled slab of pork. One hit, one miss. Potatoes had good flavor but were cooked in almost unappetizing way - not quite boiled nor pan fried - a little strange.

Yelp
Had the breakfast torta this past Wednesday morning and WOW! This thing has all of the breakfast stuff I want and then some, love the picked onions in it, the guac and the bread was super yummy. Wasn't the typical bolillo bread at most places, this was more of a ciabatta style bread but still great!!! Food was made fresh to order and didn't take too long and the guy who took my order was super friendly. Walk up window kind of spot. Usually I was gargantuan portions but the torta was actually quality and perfectly sized and the side of Mac salad that came with it was yummy. Will absolutely come back here!

Yelp
My carnitas tacos were sumptuous- tender, flavorful and plentiful. My missus chicken taco was not that great - no seasoning on the chicken and it tasted like roast chicken sprinkled in a taco. Hence the average of 4 stars.

Yelp
This place is part of the Valhalla sandwich shop chain. I thought it was an independent shop until I recognized the branding. It's a to-go window with a couple benches in front. Personally, I wish that the sandwich was larger for the price and the macaroni salad had more flavor. I preferred Valhalla. The person working the window was very kind and service was quick. I'd recommend if you just need lunch to quickly take with you.

Yelp
I have been here a few times now and really love it! Price is reasonable, the owners are super kind, and the food is delicious! It is more of walk up window style of restaurant and perfect for a quick lunch or breakfast! I love to go on a walk to a local coffee shop and stop here for a breakfast burrito or cubano afterwards. I also really like the carne asada burrito! So happy to see this new addition to Georgetown!

Yelp
The Tortas are on the smaller side. We got the El Diablo and La Bamba and though the ingredients were good on their own, I can't say I enjoyed the flavors working together. We ordered online for a quick pick up (within 15 minutes) so definitely a good place to grab lunch if you're in the area. We were able to easily grab our food from the window. The mac salad was a tad bland and I would skip out on the fries all together.

Yelp
Hidden gem of a place in Georgetown! This used to be Lorena's Kitchen but then became a Walk up window that does mexican Tortas and burritos! The Cubano is my usual go to torta and has a nice piece of pork belly and sliced ham with cheese and pickles. It's not a classic pressed cuban sandwich but this version is still delicious! When I am feeling more breakfasty they do have a decent breakfast torta with scrambled eggs and two kinds of sausage. Tortas are not gargantuan but are the perfect size for a nice quick lunch. Walk up window only so you will have to take your grub to your car, curb or on a nice stroll around Gtown to enjoy.

Yelp
Still loving El Pirata. Easy quick stop in Georgetown for tortas, their bierra burrito, or tacos. The taco selection isn't as extensive as some places, but that's ok. $12 and I walked away full on their brisket tacos with rice and beans on the side. Service: friendly and efficient!

Yelp
Definitely Seattle sized portions, but the flavor of the food was great, it was ready on time, and service was friendly. Skip the fries and get the mac salad, which is not like your traditional regular mac salad from other restaurants but still good. We got El Dorado and the Supreme Chicken Burrito, and would recommend the burrito over the torta as the torta got a bit soggy while taking it to go. Will probably be back!

Yelp
Came on a hungover Saturday and this hit the spot. There are some reviews stating portions are a bit small, but for the quality it hits just the mark. Quick fast service in a little window that feels like ordering out of Mexico. We came on a sunny day so it was nice to wait on a bench and enjoy the weather while we waited and then ate in a neighboring park. Great addition to the community.

Yelp
Second El cubano here and it was amazing! The pork belly was perfect with a little crust from the flat top. Definitely coming back here for more!

Yelp
Mexcellente! It's all great. Fast, delicious, and lots of great options. Strictly a to-go operation but otherwise can't be beat for the area.

Yelp
True 5***** Story: On my way home, I see this cute little Tortas Spot on the corner of, 12th and Bailey S. (Georgetown) and I almost got whiplash trying to read the colorful menu....so I go to busts U'e (u-turn)...I stopped in BofA parking lot with no where to park just stopped....I looked for this place on Yelp finally I found it but online ordering was for the next day....For safety reasons I parked (ok I doubled parked) and when I couldn't order online (I was only trying to see the menu from the comfort of my car) I decided to get out my car. It was a little past 7p but I could see the OPEN sign and a line. I walk up in awe of the cute lil New spot. I ordered the veggie torta w/ no cheese extra v. tahini sauce. Mr. & Mrs. Andreque run this gem. It's been here for about 9 months, and I've passed it numerous times and didn't see it. Today I decided to slow down and stop to "smell the flowers" and pay attention to my surrounds...and they caught my eye and stopped me in my tracks. A risk non the less because no one can drive up in this B. After flipping the U'e and parking where I wanted to (it was safe) I walk up. Immediately I loved it...Andreque didn't look a bit bothered he was welcoming smiling and ready for my order. Although technically they were closed he told me what was available to order. I ordered my veggie torta w/ v extra sauce (don't get extra too good to smother the yummie'ness). OH MY GOODNESS THE VEGGIE TORTA CHANGED MY LIFE it was so delicious and my side (surprised there was a side) I chose macaroni salad....if u like macaroni salad it was light and delicious. Sometimes when you stop to "smell the flowers" it turns out to be DELICIOUS!!

Yelp
Delicious and great service! Ordered quite a few items for my employees and order was ready within 15 min and already waiting for pick up when I got there. Everything tasted so fresh and the tortillas... YUM

Yelp
Their tortas are fire! I had their breakfast burrito, and then came back for the torta! Highly recommended if you're visiting Seattle. I travel a lot for work and can't wait to go back for more. The service is amazing, super nice. The ambiance is small but great. Love this place

Yelp
I stopped by this place after driving past a few times seeing there was a long line. It's a takeout window only and the staff is nice. This was my first time trying a torta and honestly was kinda disappointed. It's rather small for $13 and it was pretty bland. I tried the asada torta and it didn't have the signature flavorful asada taste. Also, they had these pickled jalapeños on the sandwhich and they had a horrible taste and ruined the sandwich. I will say the ingredients seemed fresh. I may try a different sandwich and omit the jalapeños if I'm in the area and want something quick.

Yelp
I am a music teacher, what do I know about tortas? Nothing, I confess. However, I know what tastes good and know when something is freshly cooked. I have tried most all of their tortas, and each one was excellent and full of flavor. They also include a side, the best of which is the macaroni salad. Highly recommended!

Daniel N.

Yelp
Delicious tortas and burritos at a super affordable price! The people who run the restaurant are super nice and friendly as well, really happy to have them in Georgetown!

Yelp
These Tortas are fire! I wish they were bigger but there bomb I recommend this place.

Yelp
I drove by this place last week and saw a line wrapping around the corner and made note to check it out. They've been open 2 months but now have flags in the ground that definitely make it more visible. I stopped by today and got the chicken habanero as a burrito. This thing was an amazing size and SO DELICIOUS. I had beans and rice added as well per the recommendation of the counter clerk. The flavors were so good. The avocado and chicken were so fresh. The sauce used was tasty and the rice and beans as well good!! This has now become one of my favorites and I'll definitely be stopping by for lunch whenever in the area.

Yelp
So I was introduced to the EL Diablo by a friend and I must say what a perfect savoring mouth explosion. I have these delivered 25 mins away and they still arrive warm and delectable. Perfect Shrimp and Chorizo combination. I could eat one everyday.

Alex M.

Yelp
Great food, fast and friendly service, easy to find and plenty of parking. Definite recommend.

Yelp
As Californians, we approve!! Ridiculously good and super nice staff.

Yelp
So damn good! Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally stopped by today.
