Being from Cali, I’m so glad there’s a location here in Br. The food is always fresh and tastes great!

Only giving 3 stars because this literally tasted like air 😑 maybe salsa would have helped, but the chicken had no seasoning on it at all. I’ll try something else next time I just really wanted the tostada.

For "fast" food, this is a great place to get a hearty meal. I arrived during the peak lunch rush and it took about 15min to get my order..... WORTH THE WAIT! The grilled chicken taste like you grilled it yourself on the backyard grill. The sides were fantastic also. I got my whole meal for under $10.

UPDATE JUNE 2025 Chicken still great ! Rice still bland and dry Mashed potatoes da bomb! Corn wasnt as tender as last visit Condiments bar still nasty No one cleaned it the entire time we were there. We ordered a 16 piece. Recieved a half chicken free. No real interaction from cashier. 🖤🖤🖤🖤 Absolutely delicious 😋.. The food was good, hot and fresh. The mac and cheese was cheesy The corn was DELICIOUS!!! The rice kinda dry and bland The chicken was FALLING OFF THE BONE!! The tables and condiments are could have been cleaned better. I asked for packs bc i was scared to eat from it. We went three times in one week 🤣🤣🤣. Maybe try again in the 2024

Food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. Pretty much drive through only from what I've seen. Slight language barrier if you have any questions about the menu. Ten dollars for a burrito but worth every penny.

First time trying this place! Ordered take out two chicken bowls. Very good! Great service too.

This was the most tasteless meal I have ever had. Chicken taste like nothing. The worker was nice, but I will never return. I had the bowl, beans were hard. No sauces. Just gross. Queso was decent

This is probably some of the best chicken I've ever had. I also tried the Cole slaw, Macaroni and cheese, bean soup and chips & queso. They were excellent. I will definitely be back! It was so good that I forgot to take pictures of the food first :-) UPDATE: OK, so I ordered from here the very next night because I was craving it - and this time I remembered to photograph the food so I added them to the review.

I eat the 5.99 bowl combo like 4 times a week. Always $6.62 after tax Always fast and always fresh

Yum. Always spot on. Line in drive through goes fast and they never upcharge me when. i want want to change my order.

I LOVE El Pollo Loco! Overall, they have some great food for a good price. I went in this time specifically to try the mango habanero chicken. I got the two piece, which also comes with two sides and your choice of tortillas (either corn or flour) or chips. I added a queso to dip my tortillas in because their queso is so good. The chicken was really moist. I liked the sauce, and could tell it was going to be a little hotter because I could smell it before I tasted it. I would have preferred less of the sauce so it wasn't so messy. Their mashed potatoes are one of my favorite things on the menu because they're so fluffy and buttery. They have a salsa bar if you go inside, so you can try out a lot of different salsas to see what you like best. I went on a Sunday for lunch, and it didn't take very long from the time I placed my order to them calling my name to pick it up. My only complaint is that they didn't have the carbonation for the sodas, but they did have a sign up on the ice maker letting you know what was available on the machine.

This place did not disappoint! I had the double chicken avocado salad combo. It comes with a drink, chips & queso. The serving portion was great & I had enough for later. It had juicy chicken with fresh veggies. I chose the strawberry Fresca for my drink. Their churros had the perfect crunch with sweet caramel sauce. Ordered in the drive thru where the menu was easy to ready. our food took about 5 minutes & was hot. If you're a night owl they're open till 3am! Great experience all around.

Whoever the new guy at the window is he never answered the intercom to take the person in front of ours order and didn't answer for us either. We all drove off. As we were driving he looked right at us as we were passing by the window. Sad people do not care about people's businesses and livelihoods.

Try their Fresca Cobb salad today. Overall enjoyed it. Provides a generous quantity of chicken and bacon, the roasted corn is also nice. My only complaint is that they only have two types of salad dressings to offer. One is a cilantro dressing and another is a something they called a 'citrus dressing'. I opted for the citrus dressing because I really don't care for cilantro myself, but the citrus dressing just tasted odd. Since their salads are plentiful and tasty, it would be nice if they would offer a basic oil and vinegar dressing as a third option for those of us who don't care for either of their house dressings. Otherwise I would have given the salad a five star. They do have a complimentary setup for pico de gallo and salsa, so I ended up putting pico de gallo on my salad instead. At least it added some extra flavor and moisture to the salad, but again a third option on a more generic and popular dressing like oil and vinegar would have been a nice option

I love that the food is always fresh and they are open later than anywhere else in the area (that's not serving breakfast) The staff can be shy but they are generally quick and courteous. It's my late night go-to for sure.

One of my favorite restaurants I miss going to when I used to live in Cali, I live in Georgia now and they don't have but luckily I am working in Baton Rouge LA till Friday and I saw they had el pollo, I had to go pick up some chicken and it not disappoint!!

If I could leave negative stars I would! I have placed an order 6/4/25 for pick at 10:30 pm. When I got to the location they said they didn't have my order because they didn't have any more breast and wings. When I ask if they would refund the difference they said I had to do it on the app. Then I just asked pre a refund be because they didn't have what I wanted and order, and was told I have to do it on the app. I tried to do in but didn't know how to request my money back. I when back inside to ask an employee for help navigating the app. The employee said they didn't know how to do. So I ask could she process the refund she said no. So after trying one more time on the app and asking for help she said they would have Brest and wings ready in 45-50 minutes. At that time it was already 5 minutes to 11 pm. So she said she would change the order from being completed so I can get my money back. That was 2 days ago, and it's still showing complete on the app, but it never was because I didn't not leave the restaurant with any food or a refund til this day. What is the whole point of having contact information if the employee are not going to use it to contact you to let you know items you order are not available before the order in "completed" and driving always the way to the restaurant and it's not.

5 stars because the place was clean! The food was really good! The food was served hot just like it should be. The guacamole was fresh & delicious! The chicken was cooked over a hot open flame, the chicken was juicy and the skin was crispy. They have a nice salsa bar with a few fresh salsas, fresh chopped onions, jalapeño slices and fresh cilantro on it. They have coke products with coke, Fanta, sprite, Dr Pepper, diet Dr Pepper, Diet Coke and gold peak sweet and unsweetened iced tea, you fix your own drinks with free refills and yes fresh cut lemon slices are on the salsa bar. Can't wait to go back. Everything tasted great.

I almost passed on trying this place because of reviews but I went ahead and tried it for myself. This place gives me vibes of if Cowboy Chicken had a drive thru. The menu is similar in ways to me with of course different spins. We went through the drive thru which was a little slow. When we put in our order the guy said it would be 10 mins for chicken. I figured with how slow we were moving anyway it would be 10 mins by the time we got the window. I was correct. The chicken was fresh and had a great grilled taste. I was able to peak and see how they grill the chicken from the drive thru. The Mac and cheese was basic, almost tasted like the Mac and kfc. Rice was pretty good as well. It came with tortillas (corn or flour). We added on the churros. Yum yum! They were also fresh and pretty good. Could have used a little more cinnamon but they are good for the price and a nice size. I will make sure to stop by and get a couple more of those.

Very polite and nice workers. Ordered on the app. Got the keto burrito, $5 bowl and a taco. Wasn't bad, just very bland. It needed a ton of seasoning and hot sauce, which I didn't have. Reasonably priced.

I love avocado salsa, whoops I mean El pollo loco, it's a shame that it's only included with chicken meals and not burritos and Tacos. It is complimentary if you ask for it. When this location first opened They were more generous with the salsa and as time has gone on they give less and less. Still this is a great option for those who try to eat lower carb !

Yeah...these nachos were perfect! The chips were so crispy...the cheese creamy and well balanced with the sour cream and guacamole. The seasoned chicken-- sooooo flavorful!!! All together perfect! And filling. El poll loco is becoming a routine for me when I am on that side of town. The service...so good! And though I go through the drive-thru, the service is fast, and I pull up in an available parking spot and eat in my car. It is a thing because I am never eating alone, truly. Other customers also park and eat and enjoy the goodness. So they have great outdoor eating which often has a sunny ambiance. This place is great!

The place was filthy!! Trash cans were over filled. Condiment/salsa bar was dirty and condiments were littered everywhere. The tables were dirty and had food from past customers. The floors were slippery and had food all over the place. The cashier had an attitude for no reason. The food was burnt to a crisp. Really liked the place prior to this but never coming back. Forgot to mention the fungus growing on one of the walls.

Great food and service this morning! The double chicken bowl is a perfect healthy, high protein option while eating out !

I love this place! The bowls are my favorite. It's always fresh, big servings, affordable, and it being open late is a huge plus!

"We won't have chicken for another hour to an hour-and-a-half." No chicken at all. At El Pollo Loco. Apparently someone came up a little bit before us and bought up every piece of chicken. My parents always go to El Pollo Loco when they visit me in Los Angeles, and they were really excited that it was finally opened in Baton Rouge ― so to be told that there wasn't a single piece of chicken after driving all the way from Watson, well... thanks to El Pollo Loco, we were La Familia Cabreada. They got one extra star because at least we got some free churros.

Love it!!!! I'm happy to have a quick meal spot in BR that not all fried food. I can't wait to come back and try the Mexican hot chocolate. The employees I interacted with were super nice. Even with the establishment recently opening, they seemed well organized and worked efficiently.

Just passed by here for the first time today then later showed up for a quick bite to go. They were super fast and friendly in the drive-thru line. I was able to download the app but then noticed that for this location, ordering through the app is "temporarily available." Oh well, because it was lightening speed anyway. About 3 cars in the drive-thru when I arrived, but they were all gone by the time I drove up to the window. I decided to take up the rec from a Yelp review and ordered the keto burrito, and it was delish! Didn't get a pic because I ate it in the car so quickly lol. It was as described and seemed fresh. The guy who took my order was courteous from taking my order to answering my questions at the window to telling me to have a great day. No complaints! I'll definitely be back for more! Oh and since Yelp insisted me to comment, I can't say anything about the ambiance as I didn't go inside. I glanced as I drove in and didn't see any customers, so I'm not sure if they're even open inside at the moment.

They forgot my chicken in the double CHICKEN tostada :( food is great but this sucks.

I went there for lunch and got the tortilla soup because I have been feeling under the weather and it hit the spot. It was a very big portion and there was a lot of meat in the soup. I experience great customer service, and the restaurant was clean which I appreciated. I will definitely be going back.

The food is good but Terrible service, they never, never give you the dressing for the salads, it's a problem every time! You pay for things they never give you! Make sure you check your bags before leaving the line, They should really start training their staff to bag the orders correctly!!

There salad is always a winner. Whenever I go to the West Coast I go to this restaurant and am never disappointed.

Customer service is HORRIBLE. I ordered from here online, and when I got home, part of my order was missing ( 2 chicken crunchy tacos). I drove all the way back up to this place to basically be told I wasn't getting the tacos I paid for. The employee at the drive-thru window (dark curly hair with it pinned up, Hispanic) also told me it wasn't her fault the tacos were left out of the bag. I asked her, " whose fault was it because it wasn't my fault." She tells me the guy bagging everything up. I am sorry, but isn't it your job to ensure everything is in the bag before you hand it to the customers?" Long story short - I didn't get the tacos I paid for and when I got home,.I just threw everything away because I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!

I will say that the food is very, very good. Unfortunately, the service is not. Every time we've been, they have been out of multiple times. They also have left items out of our order on multiple occasions that I have had to go back and get. Every time, they seem very uninterested in fixing their mistake. Now they have been closed for several weeks it seems, and they don't answer the phone. I would assume they are never reopening. It's too bad, because they had really good food whenever you were able to actually get what you ordered.

My family LOVES the chicken. I've tried the keto burrito (good), double avocado salad (meh), tacos al carbon (good), chips and Queso (standard fare), guacamole (very good). The food is excellent value and there is surprisingly a good bit of variety for a chicken-only place. I like that I can order food to go on an app and pick it up through the drive through. The service is good and friendly. I am glad to have a new option for a quick bite in our rotation!

Please come to New Orleans! I grew up eating el pollo loco in California and I've been in New Orleans without it for too long!!!

Food is always delicious, consistent and healthy. For fast food it's pretty incredible. I don't live in a city with an El Pollo Loco any longer, but whenever I visit a new city I always look to see if they have one.

Great chicken just too little meat on the bone. Prices are fair. Your choice of sides (2) are a nice selection and all good. Location seems to be ideal

Yesterday was our first experience going to El Pollo Loco And yes, it was experience. The customer service and our meal was so good!! I can't wait to go back!!! I'm mad it took me so long to try them out. 100's across-the-board!!

Great service and great food. The macaroni was a bit over cooked but everything else was really good.

I know they can do better. I've enjoyed El Pollo Loco in other cities and was happy they opened one in my city. Perhaps because it is because they are so new they haven't got it right yet. The chicken had been cooked for quite a while, was dry and the skin was wrinkled like a leftover. The sides were great but you go there for the chicken.

Deleted the app no point in it taking up space on my phone. The location says it's temporarily unavailable. They don't answer the phones either. I'm unable to order from the airline location because it says temporarily unavailable.

There were chicken bones in my burrito I could have chocked on if I hadn't noticed. No wonder they got shutdown

I have since left the West Coast El Pollo Loco is normally located on the west coast and I'm back down south now and I recommend the closest wanna know areas Lafayette or Baton Rouge I recommend the restaurant

I can't believe this is fast food! I had to review this right now while I'm sitting here in El Pollo Loco eating, b/c it's that good. I am incredibly picky about food and I tell you, this is good. I'm having the Double Chicken Avocado Salad that has a ton of real grilled chicken breast that they grill right here, avocado, and lots of other stuff. It's at least as big as an expensive salad you'd get in one of the local bistros, and it's every bit as good if not better for $8.79. DEFINITELY better than Chipotle without a doubt. I'm really so excited about this place! I'll definitely be back often even though I live across town.

If you like chicken jerky, this is your place! Overcooked, overpriced and poor availability. At 5pm on a Monday they were out of several side dishes. Not impressed!

This is my kind of fast food. Problem is when I order a salad there is no place to get extra dressing. The cilantro dressing is so good.

Don't bother. I have been seeing so many cars in their drive thru since they opened, I figured it must be good. Wrong. I ordered the Quesadilla lunch box containing 1 chicken quesadilla, beans/rice and chips with a green sauce and a red sauce and a churro. Also ordered chips and guac. Also asked for an extra red sauce. Chicken quesadilla was blah, not much flavor, they forgot to give me any sauce at all. The only decent thing was the beans and rice. The churro was cold and chewy. And oh my the guac. was terrible, taste like a bowl of lemon/lime juice, couldn't even taste the avocado and the chips were so stale and chewy they went straight in the garbage. It's very seldom I dislike someplace this much.

Went to this restaurant wanting 2 chicken tacos but ended up with 2 tamales. It was so disappointing and even tried to fill out a survey but it kept saying invalid survey ID . It's so disappointing when you want something and your order is completely wrong and people don't want to go back to the restaurant. It really makes me want to just stay at home and cook my own food, at least I will know what I'm getting.

Pretty good place, fresh food and the star entree is the grilled chicken. A must try that is reasonably priced with good service.

Friendly staff, GREAT CHICKEN TINGA BURRITO, yummy hot chocolate, delicious chicken bowl. We will be back often.

I used to visit El Pollo Loco a few years ago when I traveled to Los Angeles on business. We decided to try the Baton Rouge location today to pick up lunch. The staff punched in chicken nachos rather than tacos and my wife didn't notice until we got it home; pretty soggy. The grilled chicken was overcooked and very dry...a waste of money Very disappointing considering my experiences with the chain in California; not sure if I will be back.
