"At Tukwila’s Sinaloan grilled poultry-focused restaurant, diners can consume a whole roasted chicken with rice, beans, and house-made tortillas while catching the day’s soccer match on TV. Be sure to wash it all down with one of the spot’s refreshing aguas frescas, jarritos, or mexican beers. Free on site parking is a bonus." - Jenise Silva

The cool El Pollo Real wrapped Jeep speaks to the character of this restaurant. The food is excellent. The family that runs the place is kind and very efficient in the kitchen (fast and fresh). They also have a delightfully quirky selection of pre-made and custom piñatas.

I came to El Pollo Real with my hubby. The appearance of the restaurant is vivid and large, so you can easily see it. You can park anywhere front of restaurant. Wheelchair is accessible to park, entrance and restrooms too. There are many options, kids menu, quick bite, small plates, vegetarian menu and comfort food. I ordered a half chicken asad and ate with my hubby. You'll see that pictures of food and look yummy but chicken was a little dry and hard to eat. Service ladies are friendly and nice. I will be back here to try something else.

If you want an AUTHENTIC home cooked Spanish meal, this is THE SPOT! The chicken is on point. The whole family agrees their chicken is #1. Even our picky kiddos loved it. They ordered the carne asada fries and we had to get a second order because is was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Check them out! Tell them the Arce’s sent you!

I loved the chicken! Made me remember my hometown. The owner is very kind and attentive. I would love to come back, the price and portion are good. I tried the pastor tacos and chicken. The sides were tasty.

Incredible hidden gem! The chicken, rice, macaroni salad, beans... THEY TASTE LIKE HOME! Tear came to my eye when i saw the plate arrive, the look, the smell literally takes me back to my primo's confirmation party last summer! I havn't been to an actually authentic mexican food place like this, where they dont try to dress it up or overdo it on what gingos expect, and just focus on the good food. Literally, if you're like me and far from family, come here and eat!

First off this place has some serious a/c! My friend and I walked in on a warm day and it was nice and cool. Hard to find at mom and pop locations. We both had chicken and asada tacos. The service was quick and friendly. The food came out quickly and tasted great! We did notice that they offer a baked? Chicken platter. We did not order it but many other people did order it and it looked amazing. I will definitely be ordering that the next time I visit.

Google
If you love chicken that is full of flavor and perfectly done then this is the place for you... We ordered the half of chicken with all the fixins and got all the food pictured for $18.00 This is the best Pollo Asado I've ever had 😋😋😋

Google
It's a big, dreary place. With a bad breath inside. The waiters are indifferent. The chicken from the microwave is not sure if it was cooked the moment we arrived. I do not recommend it.

Yelp
The food that I got was not what I ordered. I called to tell the establishment and what's she basically told me was that there was nothing she could do. I paid a lot for this food and am Upset with the way the staff handled this problem. Good luck. I won't be shopping here anymore. The rice is crunchy anyways.

Yelp
Maybe she made an honest mistake not removing the guacamole from my fries. For me it was the rude way of her telling me that I need to speak up for myself more just came off as really rude and didn't care. I'm literally allergic to guacamole I always tell people, maybe she didn't hear me. Maybe she doesn't care I wouldn't support this business.

Yelp
This is hands down the best Pollo Asado I've ever had. It was super hot and fresh ,moist and delicious... I'm so glad we found this place... Please do yourself a favor and go try these guys... You won't be disappointed !!!

Yelp
I am for supporting local businesses so my husband and I finally went to this restaurant with my sister and her husband for lunch. Plus, the location is really closed to our house. I was surprised when we came in. It doesn't look like a restaurant but more of a venue place where they just put tables and chairs. Nice to have a big party. We ordered our food. 2 Carne asada, 1 burrito, 2 beef enchilada combo. The Carne asada was too rubbery, enchiladas were dry. Burrito was decent. The meat in the enchiladas were not very tasty. Some Mexican restaurants give chips and salsa but this restaurant didn't. The price of the food doesn't match the taste of the food. I paid so much for a blah food where I paid the same amount at another Mexican restaurant and it was really good. I am disappointed with this restaurant.

Yelp
Very tasty food and customer service was very friendly. Ambience was really good too and accommodating for a large group. Will definitely come back to this place again.

Yelp
My wife and I continue our quest for the best Mexican cuisine in the Tukwila area and this restaurant popped up in my Yelp page. We live close, but didn't know it existed, because it borders on the industrial area of town. We walked in and the place looked kind of like a swap meet building. It would be a lot more inviting for sit down patrons if they did some beautification, but it seems to be geared more for take out. I will say that while we waited for our order that we sat at a table and it was perfectly clean. We ordered a bunch of food, enchiladas, a burrito, quesadillas and even grabbed a bag of the empanadas. It was all chicken this time, because they are known for their delicious chicken. It did not disappoint!!! The chicken had a rotisserie flavor to it and lightly charred skin that was amazing!! The fresh cilantro and other herbs gave everything a fresh clean finish. The salsa that came with our meal had the perfect amount of heat and was fresh and full of great flavor. The young man at the counter was perfect. He was upbeat, smiling and very professional. We felt very welcome here because he was so nice. At this point in time, this restaurant is our new favorite and we will be back to try more dishes. I have to say that some of the old, bad reviews do not reflect this establishment now. Everything was clean, fresh and delicious!! Can give it ten stars? I encourage all of the Tukwila locals to give this place a chance. You'll love it!!

Yelp
Delicious food! The wife and I are from southern California and have been looking for some great Mexican food! We found it. The place is off the chain and decently priced too. This is my chicken joint.

Jackie L.

Yelp
The place is dump, kitchen looks dirty, rice is bland, beans are watery, chicken is okay. Owner is rude AF. Save yourself some money and go to Azteca

Philicia S.

Yelp
Oh my wowwwwww!!! I did not get to eat it fresh because I had it reheated after I got home from work, but man oh man! The grilled whole chicken here is amazing! The chicken is so full of flavor, smokey, and so delicious! My husband got the whole chicken, served with salsa, macaroni salad and fresh tortillas! You can get rice and beans for a few dollars extra! I didn't get any photos, but Google has a ton of pictures! The chicken had so much flavor, I haven't had good grilled Mexican style chicken since Mexico! Its so smokey, has that nice grilled flavor, bits of the skin was crispy, and tasted so perfect with the tortillas. Paired with the fresh salsa and smalls bites of their grilled Serranos made it perfect, I ate the chicken down to the bone, and cleared the bottom of the box! I'm so excited this place is so close to me, I can't wait to come back again. I highly recommend it, perfect for sharing! Enjoy!

Yelp
The chicken is other worldly, having tasted many a breast, legs, wings and ant part of a chicken you can think of, prepared in any way you can think of, I can confirm: if you want chicken, come here.

Paola P.

Yelp
Have you ever tried rotisserie chicken that is finger licking good ? Wow just wow ! This place is delicious, the salsa ? Amazing ! The chicken ? So savory! The prices are worth it. If you enjoy a Mexican dish (BEANS, RICE, CHICKEN) come here !

Sarah D.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! Sooo good!!!! Everything was good from the free tortilla chips with homemade salsa to the chicken and rice! This is definitely our new chicken spot. DELICIOUS!!

Amelia M.

Yelp
This is a 100% authentic pollo Sinaloa style place. So happy to have stumbled upon this place - was nearby at the museum of flight and stopped by for a quick lunch. They're marinated and grilled chicken is so good and perfect for ordering in large quantities and eating family style. Looks like there's events here in the evening - im am looking forward to coming back.

Bianca M.

Yelp
I love their chicken! It's so moist and super flavorful, their chicken is grilled therefore and has a very nice flavor. It's always cooked right, my family always requests me to bring home their chicken or dinner.

Marcus W.

Yelp
Hands down the best street tacos I have eaten outside of San Diego, CA. the meat is amazing, I can't decide between the chicken, the pork or the steak as my favorite because EVERYTIME I go I get all 3 meats and each time I have a different favorite. They also do catering so I had my work have them come and they cooked it right in the parking lot and set tables up for us all to go out and get the food hot off the grill. I plan on having this be a stop I make at the minimum every 2 weeks if not more.

Barb R.

Yelp
I work in Tukwila and was craving Mexican food at lunch time. Searched on-line and based on the reviews decided to give El Pollo a try. Since they are known for their chicken, I had to start with that and wow, it was really great. Served with homemade tortillas that were worth it alone. Also, a nicely roasted poblano as a garnish. Chunks of the roasted chicken, wrapped in a steaming tortilla with a dollup of their slightly spicy homemade salsa = da bomb! The portion was so generous, that it covered me for lunch for two days. I ordered my lunch to-go, but they do have a lot of tables if one wants to eat there. Not a place you'd go for the decor, but definitely for the food!

Angela B.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Nice people and good food. Chicken is tasty and LOTS of it. Burritos are Huge. It looks like they have a dancing in the evenings. They are also applying for a liquor license which will be fun for sure.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I'm from LA and haven't found any Mexican food that I would call authentic. This place isn't the best looking on the inside but wow they have the best food. The rice and beans are flavorful to the max and they have homemade corn tortillas, I mean that just took me over the top. The chicken is great and the salsa is fresh. I'm going to keep coming back

David T.

Yelp
Not bad at all. Street tacos were exactly what you're looking for. But I came here for the pollo. Fire grilled chicken with beans rice and tortillas. All 3 were good. I usually judge my hole in the wall Mexican food solely on their beans and rice. Theirs were just fine. Would definitely come back if I were working out here longer.

Katie L.

Yelp
Really great grilled chicken meal with fantastic tortillas hand made and sides that compliment the chicken in a nice little taco! Great value good food and nice people with a smile!

Devin M.

Yelp
Smells like old people and moth balls in here. Was not expecting what smelled like a dirty diaper when I opened the drink cooler. Also, there are children running around on little walker things. Ordered Shrimp Ceviche and a Coke, paid 17 bucks. Asked for hot sauce, was told they don't actually make any....I understand this is traditional Sinaloan, but I'm pretty sure they use hot sauce too. Whatever, a Togo container of Tapatio it is. Opened my Ceviche, which came in a 32 oz cup. Smells good, tastes okay, kinda bland. I'm used to more flavor, coming from Houston. Tortilla chips are thick and crunchy, but otherwise generic. Then I dive in further to my Ceviche, and what do I find? Nothing but RAW shrimp! Barely any at all, but was was there was still grey. A little too for the future. If you're going to prepare Shrimp Ceviche from raw, let the shrimp sit in ONLY citrus juice for about an hour. That way the come out pink with a nice "pop" to them when you bite in. Otherwise, bring your liquid to a boil, then turn off the heat and pop the shrimp in for a second. The way you've prepared this, while still edible, is unsafe and unappealing.

Yelp
I'm a bit on the fence with this place. The chicken was good, with crispy flavorful skin and a tasty rub. The sides...meh. I ordered a half chicken to go with rice and beans. The chicken had been cut into manageable pieces and was served with a nice jalapeño chile that had also been grilled. The beans are refried and not bad, just not all that great. The rice was terrible; over cooked to the point of mushiness, and almost completely lacking in flavor. I asked for maduros, the classic ripe plantain side that's a staple in most Latin American chicken joints, and the woman who took my order didn't know what they were. One of their sides is macaroni salad, which, I'm sorry, is just weird. The menu could use some work. The restaurant itself could also use some work. It's a cavernous, uninviting space with randomly spaced tables, unusable bar space and clutter everywhere. I would never dine in here. The chicken is good; the rest of it needs help.

Pranav K.

Yelp
Really good grilled chicken! For a change something not fried and healthier :D Wanted to try their other unique offerings, but will have to order next time! To be frank, it looks like a good place to do a pick up, not so much for sit down.

Clarizza J.

Yelp
4 out of 6 of us who had lunch here on Friday December 7 got extremely sick. Would not wish this sickness on anyone.

Stephanie R.

Yelp
I had the best shrimp taco I have ever eaten in my life at this local joint. Jesus. The rest of the food was good (fresh tortilla chips, pastor taco) and sometimes mediocre (pollo was a bit dry, guacamole is strange). But the shrimp taco! I will dream of that taco...

Paula E.

Yelp
Stopped here looking for something quick to eat after an appointment. Wasn't sure what to expect, but the food was amazing! I had the shrimp tacos, my son the pollo asado. Both very tasty! The ambiance is simple - not much to write home about. But the food and the service were excellent!

Dusty R.

Yelp
Sorry folks. A real disappointment. I wanted to like it but unfortunately the food was not delicious. The chicken was dry and over cooked. Our order was taken was children that were bored and did not want to be there. The decor was picnic tables in a pool hall with no pool tables. Nothing charming or interesting; cement floors colorful walls, vacant.... Seems like it was setup more large parties and maybe banquet food.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Went in there to try it out and ordered a full chicken with beans and rice. It was delicious! Fresh, tasty, and affordable. I'll be back again.
