Yelp
Barely mediocre restaurant in the Houston airport's C Terminal. We had an unexpected layover and stopped in the restaurant for a "Tex-Mex" dinner. Most of the tables were communal, or family style. You could order at the table using either your phone with a QR code, or with the waitress.
To start, my husband and I ordered two Mojitos which were extremely weak and unmuddled.
We decided on two taco plates -- one chicken tinga, and one short ribs. I also got an iced tea. The food arrived relatively fast, but was lacking inspiration, style and taste, to say the least. There were three street-style tacos each, with a small dollop of a stewed meat, and a dusting of red cabbage, accompanied by a ladle of refried beans and a small portion of dried out, chewy Spanish rice. It would not have taken much more in the way of food preparation, presentation or effort to have made a nice meal.
All in all, our bill was nearly $100 + tip. The taco plates were around $25 each, which was ridiculous, even for airport food. Leaving a tip was also confusing. Since we used the interactive system to place our order, the waitress's only job was to bring us our food. There was little, "service, "involved.
The waitress was nice. The problems with this restaurant are on a larger scale which seems to be serving the largest number of guests the fastest, with food that could have come from a can, and then charging as much as they can get away with.
Our experience was very disappointing.
