Great atmosphere and even better staff. Dano, one of the partners is the man. Very interactive and really makes you feel welcomed. I’ve been there twice and it has not disappointed yet. Dermott was our host last time and the vibes were amazing. Spoke about sports, the different bars and just life in general. One of the things that makes this place different is the fact that they don’t have any TV’s making it a perfect place for a date. The seating is amazing, the lighting as well. I’m going to be back for sure

We visited White Plains for an event and chose El Primo for dinner. It did not disappoint! Kenny Z gave us superb service and the food was simply outstanding. Fresh, flavorful and delicious! The atmosphere and the cocktails brought it all home!

I was on a business trip with some colleagues in white plains and this restaurant was our choice near the hotel where we were staying. They have nice cocktails and the food was good overall. We were initially offered a table in the middle of traffic which we refused to take and then we ended up on a booth. We ordered a lot: the ceviche appetizer (its portion was very small), steak tacos, fish tacos, steak, filet mignon…. All the dishes were overall good. My order came with rice instead of fries - the waiter followed it up by a nice fresh basket of fries. We received an order of steak tacos that we didn’t order but we kept it. My steak was really good but it was a bit too oily for me. Recommended place.

I loved it!! Brought my boyfriend for his birthday. He’s picky with Mexican food, he’s always looking for authentic. This place was perfect. The birria pizza and enchiladas were SO good, definitely worth the price. Also, the wait staff was super attentive without suffocating us, and made good conversation. Must try, would definitely go again. Thank you Santiago!!

Google
Yooo! This place serves the best guacamole you can have. Hands down, absolute fact. I have been SEARCHING for this. So glad its found. On the drink menu, they have a Ginger beverage (pictured below).. GET IT!!! WOW! Had to have 2!! The birria empanada was good! The chicharron was not - in my opinion. I willing to go back and try some other stuff. I did share one of their agave/mezcal flights... Their stuff is potent!! And delicious. My tongue was numb after lol! So, you know... drink wisely.

First visit to El Primo with the crew from my new job and let me just say—this place is a whole vibe. The inside? Gorgeous. Clean, spacious, and the mood lighting was on point—like date-night-meets-happy-hour kind of perfect. We came strictly for the drinks (no food this round—we were on our “just vibes” night), and they did not disappoint. Cocktails were crafted to perfection, and the pours were generous enough to keep the good times flowing. The staff? Top tier—friendly, attentive, and knew how to keep the energy high without being overbearing. Definitely bookmarking this spot for future nights out. Can’t wait to come back—and maybe try the food next time (if we’re not too distracted by the drink menu again)!

We had a delicious meal at El Primo in White Plains. The food was delicious — we tried the croquettes, lomo saltado, and the quesadilla, and everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The lomo saltado was especially tasty, though a bit pricey for the portion size. Our server, Santiago, was nice, but the service overall was quite slow — it took about 15 minutes just to get water and over 30 minutes to receive our check. Still, the quality of the food made up for it, and I’d definitely come back (hopefully when things are running a bit smoother).

I’ve been here a few times, food was great! Fried calamari is really good!

Yelp
El Primo es el mejor! Went last Sunday for brunch (group of 5) and EVERYTHING was Superb. The place is such a vibe and I'll def be returning for that patio. All the drinks ( El Primo sour, strawberry-hibiscus marg, passion fruit Paloma, frozen espresso) were fantastic. The food was delicious with great Presentation ( Lomo, tresleches French toast, chilaquiles, birra empanadas, guacamole) all of the service we received was attentive and fun. Thank you for a great time ElPrimo, we will be back!

Yelp
Stopped in for a lunch with some colleagues. We had a reservation at noon and at 12:01 the restaurant doors were still not open. This was a 100 degree day and we were just standing outside baking in the sun. The restaurant is beautiful - it's not your typical Mexican decor - it is light and pink and modern. We were the only party in the restaurant and service was very slow (took almost a half hour for our drinks/to order our food). One of my colleagues has Celiac's and is also a vegetarian. There was NOTHING on the menu for her to eat other than a side dish of a single scrambled egg, so that is what she ate. (The tortilla chips were fried in oil used for frying meat/seafood). We asked if the rice is made with chicken broth; the waiter said he'd find out and then never reported back. What made me really upset for her was that when we received the dessert menu, the back of the menu had lunch specials, TWO OF WHICH were completely vegetarian and gluten-free - a watermelon salad, and a bean salad. Why were these not offered? I ordered the ceviche, which I love, and have ordered many times in different restaurants. Usually it is a mixture of different seafood (fish, squid, shrimp) unless otherwise specified. It's also usually in a bowl or cup. This was in a shallow bowl, almost like a plate, and there was SO much liquid it was almost like a soup. The menu did say "catch of the day" but I guess I was expecting it to be more than just the one type of fish. I was also not told what type of fish it was. On a positive note - the carajillo cocktail I ordered was fantastic.

Yelp
I haven't been spending as much time on Mamaroneck Ave like I used to (oh, the days of early 20s) but glad my friends and I gave El Primo a try. We loved going when it was Archie Grand previously! On a Saturday night when we hadn't planned on bar hopping, we decided to stop by and they told us they had a back patio we could dine in. The patio has its own bar, and is definitely more quiet than the main dining room. We ordered agua frescas and chips and guac. The chips were warm, freshly made and addicting! Would definitely recommend this spot for a girls night out or a date night!

Yelp
One of my favorite bars on the strip of White Plains, every time I walk in it's always super cute. There's an open setting so you can pretty much sit anywhere. The waiter has come around and give you menus. You can eat if you would like to or you can just order cocktails it's super relaxed. I honestly go there with the girls for drinks and appetizers

Yelp
It was a snowy day in White Plains...and yet, I still managed to make it out for my friend's bday brunch. We actually had brunch up the street from El Primo's but as we walked passed we thought this could be a cute place to grab one more drink. It was pretty empty but considering the weather, that was completely understandable. The entire staff kindly greeted us and we took a seat at the bar. Being that it's dry January, I decided to check out the mocktail menu. I had the NA passionfruit margarita which was just ok, but I did like my friend's NA whiskey sour. We all decided to get some desserts and this is where I was won over. We each ordered something different: the brownie sundae, the tres leche cake, and the sticky toffee pudding. All 3 were INCREDIBLE. The tres leche literally sat in a puddle of delicious sweetened milk; we couldn't get enough! & the sticky toffee pudding did not disappoint at ALL. It was warm and sweet and paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream it is served with. I will definitely be back for dinner and I can't wait to let you know how that goes!

Yelp
A friend and I were looking to catch up, and that usually translates to getting together for dinner. The evergreen question though, was where to go. I had noticed El Primo had opened a while back, and since I'm always eager to try new places in White Plains I suggested we go here. She was game, so off we went. I'm not sure when El Primo opened exactly, but it stood out to me because it replaced another restaurant that was relatively new to the strip. There was a quick turnover, and upon entry I noticed not much of the interior decor had changed. The restaurant is gorgeous - there is a warm hue that permeates the entire space, and the decor is contemporary with accents throughout. The dining room is spacious and is brought together by a large bar that serves as a focal point. The menu is mostly Latin American food - they have a selection of apps as well as dedication sections for tacos and mains and several desserts. We decided to share two apps, tacos, and a main. Before food though - we had a round of drinks. I noticed a selection of margaritas and decided to go with the cantaloupe and brown butter one (because autumn). The drink was fine, I didn't think it was a strong marg overall but not terrible. For apps, we went with the aguachile and chips and guac. The former was excellent - super fresh, good flavor, and it came with two big crispy tortillas to complement. Chips and guac were fine; I like my guac chunky and slightly spicy which were both absent here - the chips were good, however. For our mains we split the Cluckin' Good Tacos and the lomo saltado. The tacos were good - the marinade they used were tasty, and I was impressed with how generous they were with the filling. The lomo saltado was tasty as well - the beef was cooked well and the sauce had a lot of flavor; both dishes were strong. I was eyeing those desserts from the time I first looked of the menu so we decided to treat ourselves. The vanilla Mezcal ice cream was pretty good, but I like the tres leches more; the latter had great flavor without being overly sweet. Service was great - our server was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of throughout the night. Overall, I had a great time at El Primo - there's a lot of competition on the strip when it comes to restaurants - *especially* ones that serve Latin food, however I think El Primo provides quality food and great service in a stylish, comfortable atmosphere. My only suggestion would be for them to get an exterior sign (they currently do not have one?). I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

Yelp
Top tier cocktails with a symphony of flavors crafted with quality and precision you will find nowhere else in the Hudson Valley. Great tasting drinks served by the finest eye candy. I have not yet had the opportunity to have dinner here, but the aroma of the dishes are compelling. I will revisit the review on food; But for cocktails, fun atmosphere: you'll encounter Incredible staff and the outstanding service and crafting of memorable and deceptively potent drinks!!!.... And a sound track that will make you want to shut up and dance - regardless of you believe you can! Come through! Libations and celebrations: even if it's you surviving 100% of your worst days! Good vibes always here!

Yelp
Very good brunch and excellent margaritas. While the blue corn tortillas are beautiful, wish they would ditch them for the quesadillas. They are tough and flour would be better. Still a very strong brunch game and the best Mexican in the area ( coming from a Texan).

Yelp
The only reason I gave 3 stars was for the food. I dont know if they were having an off night, the service was terrible. The vibe is great in there. Low lighting, great music. The drinks were also great. The server we had was nice but then they switched on us and gave us a server who was rude. We had an issue with one of the meals being undercooked and he came over to our table. Instead of asking us politely how he can help, he decided to ask us with an attitude "whats the problem?". We then replied we don't have a problem, we just needed something fixed which shouldnt have taken long. Wrong! it took 20 minutes extra and it still came back undercooked!! Then, it was a birthday and they asked us if we wanted them to cut the cake before we even sang happy birthday. only to not come back for another 20 minutes. We felt like they didnt care and we didnt even tip because service was crap. I doubt I'll go back again. First impression really sucked.

Yelp
I went last night and had a glass of wine at the bar. It was $15. I gave the bartender a $20 bill. He gave me a $5 bill as change. I fully intended to leave a generous tip but not $5. It's a sleazy way to squeeze a customer for an excessive tip. I'm not setting foot in El Primo again.

Yelp
Great cocktails and perfect guac. I didn't try anything else but I was curious about their tacos and Branzino (el Primo, hit me up, I'd be willing to return). The decor is truly special, it draws you in and the service (one minor hiccup) is highly attentive.

Yelp
We went for happy hour and tried several drinks as well as the chips and salsa and chicken quesadilla. The drinks were delicious and different and the bites were also very good. We will definitely return to try more of the menu

Yelp
Went for lunch with family four of us all adults, beautiful big restaurant, wasn't busy at all and we got the worse service ever! The only thing was ok from all the food we ordered was Tacos al pastor and meat from bbq pork ribs, but even so i will never comeback or recommended to anyone i know. It is definitely overpriced and overrated!

Yelp
Stay away from this RIP OFF Spot Ordered 3 drinks at $19 each Small Drink Glass Then Charged an Additional 20% Service Charge Then the Bartender was MAD I didn't ADD an Additional TIP This is NOT NYC Michelin Spit

Yelp
Great cocktails! Fabulous ambience. Very friendly service. Joshua went above and beyond with great recommendations and even went to the corner store looking for lactaid for me. They have themselves a loyal customer for sure!

Yelp
"Hello, I'm planning a small gathering for 12 people this Friday and would like to inquire about booking your services. Could you please provide details on availability and pricing? Thank you!" How to get in contact with you ?? I tried the number unsuccessfully.

Anon A.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time for a girls night but felt uncomfortable by the staff majority of our time there (and noticed after leaving there wasn't one female worker). Unfortunately didn't get our servers name but half way through dinner he brought over shots to our table (mind you it was 8pm and basically empty in the restaurant), when I asked him what the shots were, he responded, "Blowjob shots. No hands" and walks away. Though I'm sad I feel the need to say this, I'd like to mention that we were just minding our business, trying to eat dinner and have a drink, definitely not looking for anything. We felt degraded and sexualized. Obviously sent the shots back immediately because do you freaks actually think we were about to take those? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Philip F.

Yelp
I've been here to hangout. I do love the ambience and the company there. I've made friends with the security guard one night. I drove him home as part of my job when he got out of working at El Primo. I met one of the owners as well. They're all amazing and friendly people. I recommend this restaurant to all.

Yelp
Most insane experience I've ever had. Sat down with my friend last night to grab a drink and hang out, Jesse walks over to our table to say hi to my friend (hes familiar with her, shes been there other times with another friend) proceeds to say hi how are you to her, points at me and says "who the fuck is this" I say excuse mee??? how do you start talking to customers that way? He repeats himself to say he does not fucking know me. Duh dummy this is a public restaurant, you don't know half of the customers here. I was jaw dropped. I called my waiter over to say I don't want that man back at my table because that was so uncalled for. He calls Jesse back over thinking it was funny to tell him that we're talking shit about him. I told him he is so disrespectful, insanely rude, hostile, and to approach my table with that response was absolutely insane to me. I dont know you, you dont know me. Ever heard of "hi nice to meet you" ??? He gives us the most nonchalant answer that "thats just how i am" and walks away. I am still shocked with this experience because I actually enjoyed coming here. Teach your staff some customer service.
