El Pueblo Taqueria

This is truly authentic. I have a Mexican market near my house and these carne asada tastes exactly the same. So good. The atmosphere isn’t great and that’s how I like it haha. That’s how I know the food will be amazing. The pico de gallo and the chips were great. We got a whole array of different food and no one had any complaints.

Ordered the fish tacos and was completely ripped off. Added an extra taco to my order fully aware I’d be paying extra which I didn’t mind. However, there was hardly any fish at all or anything else in the tacos for that matter. The little fish they gave me was dry as a bone, and as you can see hardly any cabbage to speak of. Not to mention the Spanish rice I ordered was undercooked. Twenty bucks down the drain… Just terrible, I won’t be returning.

This is my second time visiting. We had a wet burrito and it was tasty. And the cake was delicious. Their quality and quantity of food is very good. On the last visit we had the al pastor rice bowl and shrimp cocktail. It was also good. I would recommend this restaurant and this is near to the Cape May Beach.

This was a really nice find and the burritos were delicious! The burrito that I found had potatos and guacamole, which there was plenty of flavors and I highly recommend trying it. The restaurant itself is self serve and fortunately the kind staff was willing to serve my group and I as we were the last table to order on a Saturday night.

Wow! This place was absolutely amazing. We usually go to big wave burrito but this blows them out of the water. Everything was reasonably priced and fresh. Best guacamole I’ve ever had served with super crispy chips. Staff was friendly and nice. Only about 6-8 tables but perfect for a quick delicious bite or for takeout.

A little gem that is popular with the locals and the vacationers. A vast array on the menu to choose from in terms of authentic Mexican food and it is inexpensive! The best of both worlds! A very satisfying meal and not a hit to your wallet. Try the Mexican Street Corn...so good or Fresh Chips and Guacamole...awesome! How about a Rice Bowl with a choice of delicious meat? The Burritos are stuffed with rice, meat and gooey delicious cheese. The Tacos are super fresh and the cilantro, onion and lettuce are a great combo to complement your choice of great tasting meat. Also the staff is very helpful and quick to serve you up a great meal!A must to stop at and we will definitely come back!

El pastor tacos were really good. Gave 4 stars because pork was fried on grill instead of roasted in oven, as el pastor usually is. I would definitely go back and try more things. Portion size was great.

Awesome food. Really fresh and delicious. Saw this place on li e and it was well worth it. Food was all fresh and tasted awesome. Portions are big, price is low. Tacos are amazing and the Pueblos nachos are off the chart. Was definitely stuffed after eating here. Will definitely go back next time we are down Cape May.

Excellent authentic Mexican food! We ordered take out and the food was ready in the time they stated, well-packaged, and still hot when we got home. The mole sauce for the wet burrito was a really unique flavor that was delicious! Good pico de Gallo too! They are vegetarian friendly overall, would definitely recommend this spot!

I visited this North Cape May Mexican restaurant since Yelpers gave it amazing reviews. I'm glad I did as I will visit any time I'm in the area. The inside was a bit hot but that's because the kitchen is exposed to the dining area. Staff is friendly. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. I had the chicken fajita bowl w chicken. The plate was so large I had some for dinner. Hubby had the Torta Gringa. I didn't get it but the Gringa part means it is on a roll. Ha! He loved his food No waitress service. You order at the counter. We will be back

The food is awesome! Great portions and fresh. 4 stars because the tables could have been cleaned better and quicker. I must say that I was there at lunchtime so that may have been the table problem. The carne asada burrito is huge and delicious, had to bring half home! We did not wait too long after our order was placed . Go the food is really good.

Love the food. My daughter's favorite Mexican rice in the area. I love their bowl and my hubby is a chimichanga guy. We are always thrilled by our food. The restaurant itself is okay. Could use some TLC.

Authentic Mexican food. Delicious. Generous portions. We got take out and loved it. The fish tacos were not great but everything else was good. We had the tres leches for dessert and it was delicious.

We've been here twice since being on vacation this week. A friend who lives in Cape May told us about it. We are glad she did! On our first visit I got a rice bowl with chicken and yesterday I enjoyed a chimichanga with shrimp. Both were very good! Prices are great too, which is nice.

The food is excellent and not overpriced. The people working there are very nice. We have only done take out so far but look forward to eating in.

The food was good and there was a lot of it. We got the bowls for dinner and were able to eat the leftovers for lunch the next day. The food was tasty; although it did take some time. Located in a strip mall so plenty of parking!

Love the food but if you order on app for pick up its over an hour for 2 orders of nachos ! Thats absurd

Love the location on the beach, and ventured out to the original for lunch on our way home. My husband got the California burrito (steak, potato, guac, cheese, sour cream) and I got al pastor tacos. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and food is amazing. The tortillas taste homemade and the generous chunks of pineapple in the Al pastor tacos are so delish. Be sure to try the salsas too if you like spice.

A place you'll find locals just outside of the more popular Cape May downtown area. We saw people stopping in for their lunch break and the place was very busy with pick up orders. A good sign for sure! We brought our tacos to the distillery to enjoy with some drinks. The prices were reasonable and it seems the food is authentic.

The food is authentic Mexican and tastes great. They have been rated the best Mexican Restaurant in Cape May County. Prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious and fresh. If your in the mood for Mexican, this is the place to go.

Just had the chimichanga, but it was large, the pico de gallo on top was fresh, and the hot sauces-- green and red were soo delicious.... with an horchata.. it was soo good and quick

Bomb tacos. Well seasoned meat and the tortillas seem to be homemade. Fast and friendly service.

We were looking to get some great take out and since we were in the neighborhood, we tried El Pueblo. It's a no frills restaurant in a strip mall, but what they're offering is amazing, authentic Mexican food. The ordering line moves fast! I ordered the Placeros tacos. There were four tacos filled with steak, chorizo, onions and peppers, topped with freshly made guacamole and queso fresco cheese. Some of the best tacos I've had in a long time. We will be returning to this gem!

Lechuga bowl was bland and everything was wet from the lettuce. Chips, guacamole & pico were great. I've also had other things from here that weren't as bland but i just wouldn't get the bowl again. Service is always good and the overall vibe of the restaurant is nice.

Took about 45 minutes to get 4 tacos, I wasn't a fan of how they cooked the ground beef. I've had worse but definitely had better, I'd recommend making tacos at home. Same time if not faster and tastes better in my opinion.

Seriously good tacos. Really could compete with some of the best in the bigger cities on the East Coast. Haven't tried a taco from them that I don't like--all the flavors are vibrant and balanced between the cilantro, onion, and marinated/spiced meat--but the campechanos is a personal favorite--every time you get a more chewy fat bite is divine. Definitely one of if not the top restaurant in the area and a go-to spot for us when we visit.

We love El Pueblo! We get take out here regularly. Our favorites have been the rice bowls, chilaquiles, and sopes.

Authentic flavors. Great service. Chill ambiance. The menu offers enough choices for anyone to be satisfied. Plenty of parking. Really great Mexican desserts just a couple doors down too.

This year's visit (also after enjoying Cape May's bay) wow'd me with my steak quesadilla! Tender, great tasting, steak layered with avocado & Pico. The cheese was excellent & gooey too! It barely needed sour cream, but I'm addicted! The portion was so plentiful & satisfying. I ate & enjoyed every bite! We'll see what their overall rating wb next year - probably even higher! What is especially nice here is that the chef & employees are super nice & eager to please.

Unassuming Mexican place in a quick foods strip mall packs amazing flavor and service!! I called ahead to pick up, super easy process and hardly any wait. Distancing and masks were absolutely enforced and the order was perfect, with lots of extra salsas to enjoy. They seemed to the only place in the afternoon doing much business but the phones were ringing off the hook and I can see why. They serve radishes with a lot of items which is an unusual but enjoyable extra spicy crunch. MUST TRY the spicy pork! So amazing! The order was packed very securely and was still hot when we got home. Plus liters of jarritos you can get when you pick up. I love this place and plan to make it a regular haunt.

Amazing!!! The food in the photo is kids menu: chicken taquitos and mini rice bowl. The food is incredible here. Ordered during dinner rush and they were so quick! Highly recommend.

Thanks to fellow Yelpers our day near the shore was saved with an economical and tasty lunch at this very good Mex spot. Located in a strip mall near the bay, we walked into a very clean and freshly decorated dining room, with the chef/ owner presiding over a small late lunch crowd. The menu was clearly drawn and described on a large chalk board. The first thing I noticed was that prices are reasonable, 4 tacos came in around $8 for just one example. Trish went with her usual burrito, it looked good to me and she agreed it was. Aidan got an Americanized version of chicken tacos( by choice) and enjoyed his 4 small flour tortillas that were overflowing with chicken, lettuce and cheese. Alex had a steak quesadilla that was super cheesy and featured very tender and tasty beef. My sopes were excellent. They were chicken too and I appreciated that the chunks of meat were nicely seasoned and given a light char on the grill. Very fresh lettuce and toms( probably Jersey judging by taste and color) were piled high with queso fresca liberally sprinkled throughout. I decorated them with the green and red sauce that was table-side. Both sauces very very good. I spoke with the owner briefly and got the vibe that this is a labor of love for him. The attention to detail that went into the chalkboard and other decorations also came through in the food( which by the way was prepared very quickly for our hangry group) I regret not trying a different meat as there were about 8 options including a surprisingly appetizing sounding vegetarian one. I also regret not trying the hybrid flan/ chocolate cake dessert. I live in a area that boasts several very good and authentic similar restaurants, but this seemed better to me. If I'm ever in this area again I will definitely work it into my day. 4.5 Estrella's

It takes a while to get food here but it's so worth it! They took my allergies very seriously and made me an enormous, delicious, perfectly cooked burrito! I'm looking forward to going back.

My favorite restaurant ever! I always get the chorizo rice bowl and it's always amazing, filled with flavor and the portion is so big I normally get two meals out of it! The food is always fresh and sooo good!

4-4.5 stars anywhere else but it can be tough to find good food in Villas / Cape May, especially in the off season so 5 stars it is!! We had fresh guacamole, I mean FRESH guacamole which was awesome, the nachos / chips were as chips should be, not over salted either. (Maybe no salt?) I had the El Diabla which was phenomenal and had just the right amount of heat. The girls with me had a mix of four tacos with 3 different meats and not a single complaint. This is a family run business and when I saw Mom making the tortillas shell, I knew we were in the right place and in for a real treat. With the food they're serving they won't need luck but god luck anyway fam Back again and because of my review above, I got the same thing. : D. Even if they got my order wrong and put onion on my torta it was so good any, even after I scraped them off.

For a small taqueria in a strip mall, this place punches above its weight. Home made corn tortillas, delicious guacamole, fresh pico-de-gallo, super tasty tacos, Home made tortilla chips, and the list goes on. Come early or expect to wait, even for takeout.

Food is great, staff is friendly. Definitely a place you should visit if your into Mexican food and your in North Cape May!

Absolutely amazing authentic Mexican located in a nondescript strip mall. Homemade corn taco shells, sauces, and chorizo. Perfectly seasoned chicken. Amazing loaded nachos. NJ.com reported this as a YelpTop 33 Mexican restaurant in NJ. Only a mile or two from Cape May Winery and definitely worth the stop.

Their food is amazing. We make sure when we have guests over that we order from here. Family is always impressed with taste and presentation. This place is a win win !!!

Generous portions, the veggie chorizo is tasty. I wish they had vegetarian rice but I do appreciate the veggie options they do have. Everything tasted really good - maybe not that spicy (definitely not hot) but still flavorful. Nice people too.

This needs to have a billion more 5 star reviews because this place is THE SHIZNIT. Went in there earlier and got 4 orders of tacos (al pastor, campechanos, lengua, carne asada) and literally every one was amazeballs. If you like legit authentic Mexican tacos at under two bucks per pop, this place is awesome. Wash it down with a 99 cent 'Zona and you're in food heaven, broski. 5/5, would move here just to eat here more often!!

Got some takeout for the family. We had the Chicken quesadillas, Chips and guacamole, Tacos Dorados. Everything was great and this has been the best Tacos/Mexican food we have had down here. If you are wondering if this is Tex Mex or Authentic Mexican.... it's Authentic.

I've eaten here numerous times and everything is always fresh. Meals are made to order never en masse. Always delicious! V.B.
